After a few minutes of looking around, James gets disgusted with the opulence, false as it is, of the cabin he is in and head's outside for a breath of fresh air to clear his head.

Not going to bother rolling perception to spot Janus, but this is your chance.


Gah! It did it again! Sorry, folks, my x new disappeared and I didn't realize there were new posts on this thread. Will get updates done later today. Not that I would have gotten them up any sooner. I've had to forego such luxuries as sleep and eating is something that is done in front of a computer while working on homework. >.<

The mushroom patch is a comfortably shabby building. There are some dazed looking customers lounging near the front. The whole area near the building has a distinctly strange smell, not entirely pleasant.

Manifesting Collapse augmented +2 pp. Fort save dc 16 or goblin goes prone and is staggered for 3 rounds. then move action over to Goblin.

What exactly is the area and layout of this building? How big is it? Basically any information that would be useful for sneaking in, if possible.

Malachai grimaces as the unnatural cold washes over him...and curses under his breath. He aims his pistols at the goblin, pulling the hammers back, waiting to see if Ignot has this under control...

Unlike the other storefronts it isn't sharing walls with any of the buildings around it. It looks like a small cottage. Actually fairly out of place in this environment. There's a porch in the front with rocking chairs where customers sit staring glassy-eyed at the world around them after enjoying some of the wares. If you walk along the side you'll see a large tent up against the back of the cottage. Presumably this is also a place for customers to rest while under the influence, for an extra fee.

The smokestick that whoever it was who was under the wagon had been holding goes off right in his face.

reflex DC 13 to stand up in time to avoid being temporarily blinded for one round because of eyes tearing up.

not like im going to hit or anything but im still threatening goblin so should he make a concentration check or should i put spiked boot in his gut. If the latter

Ignot winds up for a massive kick. He telegraphs where hes aiming and his foot moves so slowly that the goblin just sidesteps away no harm done....

It had been a month since the last big recruitment drive. Not everyone had stuck around. A couple had transferred to other areas of the city. A few had slunk off into the maze that was the Warrens, their wanted posters quietly replaced on the wall as they were now fugitives again. Presuming they still lived.

They had managed to stop one ship full of slavers, not that it did anything about the many ships they didn't know about. And a drug ring that would have brought chaos to the city. Which felt good. Until they found out that it was a typical tuesday around these parts. And then there was the magic shop run by socar...that had been frustrating. The case was thrown out of court for lack of anyone to prosecute since socar were considered parasites not people. At least it had been squished. That was something. Overall though, morale was at an all-time low. It seemed like the more they succeeded the more they saw around them that was rotten. The Captain assured them that it was a phase, that he'd seen this before in long campaigns. That moment when you realized that you were in a fight that was going to take long, bloody years instead of a quick blaze of glory and everything's better, that was usually the tipping point. Whatever he said, these days it seemed like more folks were ordering hard liquor at The Trough instead of ale.

And once again new unit assignments were posted on the board to reflect the ever-changing roster.

Janus sits in the break room of the guard house with a staggering array of knives laying on the table before him. He is carefully honing them and making them disappear one by one.

Wynnie enters the break room and seeing Janus makes her way over to sit near him. She does her best to keep a smile on her face, suppressing the dark feelings. "Morning, Janus. Nice weather today, huh? Looks like they changed the assignments again. Looks like we're on the same unit again. Nice to see a familiar face, even if they are becoming less common."

Janus looks up for a moment, "They posted the assignments, eh? Glad we are working together again. Well, I am not going anywhere; being chosen for the guard is the best thing that has happened to me." The knife he just finished with disappears somewhere around his waist somewhere.
