"Well this is inconvenient and distracting. I apologize, Mr. August. I can't unleash another delightful barrage with it standing so close." Nice damage...
Zeigris unleashes a violent blast of magical energy...it lifts up the akata and throws it against the consoles and comes to a top at the fore windows.
Combat over...
Inside the bridge you locate the three cocoons that the Akata's came from. totaling 3 bulk and worth 1500 credits
Once at the consoles, you can easily access the root menu, which leads you to the basic functions. DC 10 computers check. You can take 20 on this check, with out consequence. This allows the user to re-pressurize the ship and turn the lights on.
To get to the more advanced functions of the computer takes a bit more of an effort. DC 21 computers check, you get a +5 bonus from the access card from the goblin's room..
Successfully hacking the computer, grants you access to the ship's log. Which is behind yet another firewall. This one is a DC 23 computers check, and again with the card, grants you a +5 to this check.
If you fail three of these checks, you will be locked out for 1d6 ⇒ 6 hours

"Systems Failing: Rest required." G-607's speech is slightly glitched as he sits down on the ground, clearly pandering to his organic side with the rest required.
August Lodovka SF
"Nice shot," August compliments Zeigris. He walks to the damaged android.
"Let me try to tend to that," he says as he rests a hand upon G-607's shoulder. The castaway concentrates for a moment as he channels restorative energy into the android's biologics.

Once the android's physical wounds have been repaired, he moves into the bridge and examines the console. With a few simple commands, he powers up the lights and life support.

"I know of a certain goggle-wearing computer geek who just might be able to help here..." Maenala says with a pointed glance towards Zeigris. "At least, I'd be super surprised if he couldn't figure this one out."

Can I take 10 on these computer checks? With the card I can't fail them if I take 10. Otherwise I'll toss out some rolls and post!
SFS GM Z..D..
Well gaming the game here. It says you can not take 20, but nothing against taking 10 is mentioned. I will post an update as soon as I can.
Zeigris Wilsu

"Why miss Maenala, flattery will get you everywhere." He'll adjust his goggles and step up next to August, trying to gently move the mystic aside. "Allow me, my dear man. You're adept enough, but I take these things apart in my boredom." After a moment he adds as an afterthought, "Sometimes I put them back together again."
With August having already powered the computer up, Zeigris immediately begins working with quick fingers and the keycard to access the secure logs and bypass the system defenses. "Hmmm, they never patched out the meltdown issue in their processors... tsk."

The logs detail the discovery of the Drift Rock, the crew’s initial exploration of the asteroid’s surface and the strange “geodes” they found there. The captain then states that the crew was under attack from monsters that “hatched” from the geodes they brought back to the ship (the description of the monsters matches the akatas that the PCs have already faced). The next entry is more hurried, and the sounds of combat are audible in the background. “There’s something else—it came from the rock!” the captain reports with more than a trace of panic in his voice. “We’re getting overwhelmed! I’m going to open the ship to vacuum—maybe that’ll slow them down!” The log’s final entry was recorded in engineering and shows the captain in his space suit. “Purging the air didn’t work. I’ve set the autopilot to continue on to Absalom Station, but we’re abandoning ship. We’ll fall back to the rock and try to regroup there. Acreon out.” There are no further entries.
So with nothing else to do on the ship. You need to make your way to the Drift Rock. You can either float your way down there using the tow cables or use the Hippocampus to get down there
August Lodovka SF
With the ship pressurized and the environment being balanced while Zeigris works, the force field around August's head powers down, and he removes the rebreather from his face.
"Ah. That's better."
Maenala Sepulcher
|
Maenela crosses her arms. "The alien bastards overran the place, did they? It sounds like we're going to need to investigate that rock. Any suggestions as to how we get there? I say we hop back on the Hippocampus and regroup, then fly our way over. Then again," she tosses her hair, "I'll say anything to have an excuse to get back in the pilot's seat."
Starseeker Model G-607
"Response: Maenela's suggestion is reasonable."
Zeigris Wilsu

"The shuttle would be more effective. Though if we're not pressed for time I would appreciate a bit of a nap. I have exhausted the brunt of my unique resources for the day and could use time to charge my batteries." He chuckles softly to myself. "Figuratively and literally."
Zeigris adjusts his goggles and gives a nod to August now that he can see the man's face. "I presume you'd like to join us."
August Lodovka SF
"Yes, I think I'd best," August says. "And a rest would be good, if we're going to head onto the rock where these beasts came from."
He chuckles ominously and adds, "Besides, my only other choice is to wait until you leave and then depart with the shuttle and a sizable load of noqual."
SFS GM Z..D..
Anything else you want to load up on the Hippocampus prior to leaving the Acreon
The group load up the noqual onto the Hippocampus and take it to the asteroid...
As they get closer, they get a better look at the asteroid. The Drift Rock is a rocky asteroid only a few thousand feet in diameter with an unremarkable, irregular surface.
While apporaching the asteroid, the PC's notice something unusual about the asteroid.

"That's unusual," August points out. "The edge of the rock looks like it was cut away from a whole, and it hasn't weathered any collisions with space debris. Like it spent its existence in the Drift until the Arceon found it."
He activates his environmental protections once more and his boot clamps as they disembark onto the rock. "There's a cave leading inside," he informs the others over his comms.

To the north, a dead humanoid body floats in this cavern. The body of is of a human male. His estex suit has "Acreon" on the shoulder.
If you wish to strip the male, he has a estex suit mk 1 and a empty survival flare gun. His estex suit does contain a backup generator armor upgrade.
Next tunnel to the east
Four tunnels exit this cavern to the north, south, east, and west. Strangely, however, while the south and west passages are hewn rock, the north and east passages are finished and lined with some sort of polished, metallic plating on the walls, floors, and ceiling.
In the cavern is a lone figure that seems to be mindlessly wandering around in circles. The lower half of its helmet is shattered, a long blueish tongue hangs out. It looks over at you and advances, mouth open.
