Yorad points out the chains securing the doors, "Fake." He then shrugs, "Looks like our only way inside."

Savannah grins. "Well, let's go say hello."

She opens the door and heads inside.

"Wouldn't real chains have the same deterring effect and be more likely to actually keep people out? Interesting!" Prakriti follows Savannah into the building.

"Theaters love fake things. Trust nothing."

Sarina follows everyone in.

Good eyes there, Yorad. The hunter and the panther follows the group stealthily.

Savannah shoves the doors open after she finds that they are attached to the doors to give an air of legitimacy from afar. Just inside the doors is a small hallway that runs east-west and leads up to the theater’s dusty balconies. Another set of double doors, just across the hallway from the entrance, is unlocked and leads to the theater’s seating area.

The seats are all covered in white sheets, which are covered in a fine layer of dust. Birds flap around in the rafters, and the fallen remnants of nests can be seen all about the seating area. On the stage is a covered piano and several chairs—the chairs are uncovered, their sheets cast aside, and piles of papers sit nearly around them.

As Savannah walks in, a loud blaring sound erupts from the doorway, nearly destroying the Barbarian's eardrums. A man stands near the edge of the stage, looking expectantly towards you. Next to him are his minions; large, bright red beetles. When he sees you, he moves into a slow clap and says, “The goblins failed to killed you, I see. I’ll have to take over.”

"And who told you we were coming?"

Sarina will cast Acid Maw on Fluffy then both will move closer to the stage.

Mahalak enters and draws his longbow. He also ushers his panther to protect the members of the party that's already ahead of them.

In case it needed to be said after the whole "failed to kill you" bit Sarina drew her weapon as she moved as well.

Correct Sarina. i will fix it on the next tracker.

Zildaastin is up.

"Hah! Someone didn't do his homework. But by all means, send more goblins if you have them."

Double move forward.

Sarina, Fluffy, Zildaastin and Mavenee all rush down the center aisle. The beetles charge down at Mavenee.

Green Bite vs Mavenee AC 15; charge: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 + 2 = 12

Wymund raises his hand in the air and blows glitter high into the ceiling. The glitter falls down on Zildaastin, Sarina and the two cats.

Yorad grins to himself, This is gonna be...fun!, as he moves up towards the battle, leaping over the seats and balancing precariously upon the seat backs.

Double Move to position on map. I assume the chairs are Difficult Terrain? Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Savannah hurries down the aisle.

"Kurgess! Lend us your might!"

Casting bless. All allies w/in 50 ft. of Savannah get a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and saving throws against fear for 2 minutes.

Riti rushes down with the rest of the group, hoping the beetles will be dealt with quickly so that they can get to the guy on the stage.

Double Move

Sarina's will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Fluffy's will save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21

Wow.

The gods must be truly with them as both Sarina and Fluffy close their eyes in time to avoid being blinded.

Sarina will first try to identify these things.

Sarina will move over the seats to flank with fluffy on the beetle with the yellow sheen. Unfortunately this grants the beetle an attack of opportunity.

As soon as she is in position she will have Fluffy attack.

He then orders Mavenee to attack the green beetle.

Mavenee tries to fight off the glitterdust and attacks the green beetle with her teeth and claws.

@Mahalak- It is flat.

Savannah blesses the group as Prakriti rushes in to help with the beetles. Yorad climbs over the seats to try and get a better vantage.

Mahalak's arrow barely misses as the beetles and everyone blocks a clear shot. Mavenee shakes off the glitterdust and grabs the beetle, shaking it around.

Sarina recognizes the beetles and fire beetles. Though it matters little as Fluffy cracks one open and Sarina pierces the second with her scimitar, ending both beetles in a matter of seconds.

Zil strides forward on his short legs, drawing his morningstar. "Still want to do this? You can surrender now, and maybe you'll walk out of here."

Yorad sees the man begin casting a spell and curses softly to himself.

He's too far away! Gotta hustle here!

He hops back onto the walkway and moves forward, lobbing a tanglefoot bag at the caster.

Move to map position.
Throw Tanglefoot bag at Wymund Pratt. Ranged touch, bless, range: 1d20 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 1 - 4 = 13

"Even if that's true," the gnome retorts, "I do have friends." He holds out his empty hand, which is suddenly engulfed in flames. "So it makes no difference." Then he hurls the fire as he would a ball.

Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Mahalak tries to move closer to the action and fires his longbow towards Pratt. Oh no you don't!

He orders Mavenee to attack Pratt.

The panther rushes to engage the man in close combat.

Savannah hurries forward, moving right up beside the man.

"Who are you? And what is the Shadow Lodge?!" she demands.

Sarina will double move next to the guy possibly provoking an aoo.

"Get em Fluffy."

Fluffy will move to the nearest open spot, Possibly provoking another aoo.

She will then bite him.

The man's arcane chanting continues as Savannah questions him. Yorad rushes in tossing a small sack of tar at Wymund. the bag hits and rips open, covering him in tar and other sticky resin.

Instantly Wymund shakes his head, losing his concentration and spitting on the ground. Mahalak fires another arrow, missing as it wings up onto the stage Mavenee pounces in down the aisle as the Pathfinders begin to surround Wymund Pratt.

Zildaastin tosses a small ball of fire that ignites on the man's shoulder. he quickly begins to pat it out. With his spell interrupted Sarina finds the pointy end of a rapier.

Sarina's armor protects her from all but the wind getting knocked out of her lungs. Fluffy grabs ahold of his leg and drops the man to his back right in the thick of the tar, sticking him in further.

Prakriti, puffing a little, finally catches up with the rest of the group. Calling forward frustrations from one of her past lives who struggled unsuccessfully for years to master casting spells, she sends that towards Wymund by locking eyes with the man.

Spirit Memories (WILL DC14) or become sickened and staggered for 1 round.

Mahalak and Zildaastin are up.

"Tell us what we want to know! You're all alone in here, and nobody will hear you scream."

Unless his Wisdom is negative, I'm guessing that's a fail.

Mahalak once again commands Mavenee to attack Pratt.

Mavenee obeys and attempts to bite and claw at Pratt's limbs.

The papers you saw on the stage are supply lists and a list of code names and dates. There is also a list of cities on one sheet: Absalom, Sothis, Kaer Maga, Oppara, Whitethrone, and Almas.

As you arrive back at your lodgings, aka Collgardie's estate, you find a note.

Don't leave town. Await instructions.

This is the end of Part 1. I'll get chronicles out tonight so we can go right into Part 2. If you have Day Job rolls, now would be a good time to roll them in the Discussion Thread.

Savannah frowns. "What..? I don't understand..."

She climbs up onto the stage and sifts through the papers... "Supply lists... Code names... and some cities... Absalom, Sothis, Kaer Maga, Oppara, Whitethrone and Almas..." She thinks for a moment. "You don't think... Are these the places this Shadow Lodge is operating? And these code names are members? Or maybe shipments of something? Perhaps even targets for... whatever they're doing?"

She passes the papers off to someone else. "Great job today, team, but we certainly have a lot of question left unanswered."

After reading the note to wait she shrugs. "Maybe we will get those answers after all."

Yorad nods in agreement with Savannah, "Yeah, you could be right there, but why the lack of code names for the city list? Maybe this is a red herring, a false trail designed to lead us away from the true threat."

On reading the note, Yorad snorts in disgust. "Sounds like Dakar wants to cash in his favor right away...if we're lucky."

You wander a Downmarket street a few days after the events at the theater, when suddenly the street is empty of residents, the choking mass of humanity and monsters suddenly remembering they had something better to do. Standing about you in a loose circle are six burly men carrying cudgels and a seventh man, skinny and bedecked in robes and jewels, his right hand in a pouch on his belt. All of the men stare intently at you.

“Dakar says you owe him a favor,” says the skinny man in robes. “You’ll need to come with us.”

Sarina frowns.

"Has Dakar not heard the saying about flies and honey? A simple letter asking for our presence would have worked just as well as sending all of you. Or if he insists on keeping his location a secret I'm sure one of you could carry multiple hoods."

She then sighs and holds out her hand with a *gimme* motion expecting a hood.

"That was fast," Yorad comments, "I hope the hood you brought is clean, that last one had fleas in it I am sure!"

"I'm back!" pipes the gnome when they regroup. He taps his new breastplate with his knuckles. "I figured with a mission like this, it'd be wise to wear more than just boiled leather. And I see I'm not the only one who made purchases!"

He sighs when the men appear. "Oh, go on then, mister... what's your name? Wait, never mind, I'm sure you'll be replaced soon."
