In regards to spending...
I never thought I would be playing in a higher lever PFS scenario. I have a decent amount of gold. Any ideas on what to purchase/upgrade.
What is in my profile is all up to date.

I’ll defintiely buy a robe of arcane heritage (Fey) for 16k. That will be great giving me that 15th level ability early. I haven’t marked the gold off my sheet yet. I will do that when we start.

Oy vey.
Let me tell you what's going on with me. First, I'm not dead nor fading away. However, after a week of illness and a week of reasonably ill vacationing, I'm now stranded without access to the Internet (I'm writing this from my mother's house, which is definitely not a long-term solution).
Then, the team of electricians who were going to wire my house were in an automobile accident and several were injured. So still no Internet.
Other electricians are coming to wire my house for the Internet and -hope- they can do it by next Friday.
Trying to stay connected by iPad has proved too difficult when I can summon at most 1 or 2 bars at my house. Thus, I'm just going to be offline for a bit. I'm sorry, but now you know why.
I HOPE to start this game one week late on the 20th. I'll keep you posted.
So sorry!
Rurik Delver |
Well that all sounds kinda awful. Hopefully everything works out in your favor by the end and we will get started when you are ready to go.
Wynnreyell Moonsilver |
I am here when ever you are ready. Wynn does not get too much action any more.
Alie Saechel |
Thanks for the heads up, DM. Alie will be here waiting for when things smooth right out for you.
Valrar Altimari II |
Just realized I wasn't in on the Discussion thread until now. Sorry to hear about your situation, GM, keep on the important stuff.
I'll put up my information and shenanigan(s) later today if the site stays alive.

With all the website issues, it hopefully worked out better for the GM to have some time off. Hopefully all is resolving and getting back to order for you (and Paizo). :)
Valrar Altimari II |
Awesome! And now I can also post my information.
Player Name: Crunch
Character Name: Valrar
PFS Number: 150618-1
Faction: Sovereign Court
Day Job Roll: Sleight of Hand, Vanity Bonus: 1d20 + 24 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 24 + 2 = 44
Valrar has a few shenanigans.
-His greater hat of disguise (from a specific Chronicle) lets him use alter self at will. This means he usually takes the form of a wayang (more socially acceptable than goblins) for small size and darkvision. His listed stat block is for small size.
-He parries just like every other annoying swashbuckler. What I've done in the past is post parry rolls in a spoiler on rounds I want to do so. When parrying, his weapon becomes +5. He can do as many parries per round as he has AoOs (8) but only one riposte.
-His critical hits are critical indeed, and have a bunch of effects. They also happen fairly often with a 15-20 range.
- A fair bit of extra damage
- 1d8 sonic damage (there's also a save versus deafening, but I'm not sure we want to spend time on that considering how low it is)
- The Destroy Identity feat deals 2 Charisma damage and staggers for a round, with no save
-He has a familiar, a paracletus aeon. I made a page for it here. It doesn't do much of anything in combat, but it has high Knowledge skills.

Woo! Let it begin!
Dora D Asplora |
I will be on retreat this weekend until Sunday afternoon. Posts will be sporadic.
I will then fly out Monday night for business travel until Friday night. I will post at night as available from hotel.
Alie Saechel |
This looks like the greatest ambush spot in the world. Does everyone have a way to Fly? I don’t want to mess with that magma stuff. If not, let me know so I can cast Fly on you.
Alie Saechel |
Anyone know if there is a form I could take using Alter Self that could help with my blindness? If not, I’m pretty much screwed.
GM Tarondor |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Well, when it comes to Transmutations, I'm a big fan of Tarondor's Guide to the Pathfinder Transmuter Wizard. That guy seems to really know what he's talking about.
However, alter self can only get you darkvision, low-light vision and scent. I think you're still blind with darkvision and low-light vision, so maybe a form with scent would help a little. This would bring you to bugbears and sasquatches.
I think your best hope is that someone has a way to cure blindness.
Valrar Altimari II |
I can't prove as useful a scroll of remove blindness here, but if none of those are available, I have an idea. Not sure if it'd work, that seems up to GM discretion. A shot in the dark, if you will.
Aeons communicate wordlessly, almost incomprehensibly. Caring little for the wants and desires of other creatures, they have no need to engage in exchanges of dialogue. Instead, aeons mentally scan beings for their thoughts and intentions, and then retaliate with flashes of psychic projections that emit a single concept in response to whatever the other being was thinking. The flash is usually a combination of a visual and aural stimulation, which displays how the aeon perceives future events might work out. For instance, an aeon seeking to raze a city communicates this concept to non-aeons by sending them a vivid image of the city crumbling to ash. An aeon's envisaging functions as a non-verbal form of telepathy. Aeons cannot read the thoughts of any creature immune to mind-affecting effects.
Now, it's mostly used to communicate intentions, as opposed to detailed images of what's going on. But perhaps that would be a step above being verbally told where things are. Not good enough to allow targeting beyond touch spells, though. Just something to keep on the backburner?
Dora D Asplora |
Also, do not forget to check your scenario boons. Sometimes those have some cure spells.

Question: So how does the grapple-move (reposition) work with the lava?
I always thought you could not drag someone into harm.
If you do not have the Improved Reposition feat or a similar ability, attempting to reposition a foe provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. You cannot use this maneuver to move a foe into a space that is intrinsically dangerous, such as a pit or wall of fire.
But in the grapple chart it says they get a free +4 breakout attempt if moving into a hazard.
Or is the above all moot due to some special ability of the elemental?
GM Tarondor |
As I read it, what you quoted is from "Reposition", which is where you move your foe but do not move yourself. I'm using the "Move" action, which specifically does allow you to move you foe into danger. Two different things.
You can move both yourself and your target up to half your speed. At the end of your movement, you can place your target in any square adjacent to you. If you attempt to place your foe in a hazardous location, such as in a wall of fire or over a pit, the target receives a free attempt to break your grapple with a +4 bonus.
However, you're right about the free attempt to break out. Sadly, Rurik can't succeed on that even with a roll of 20 and a +4.
Wynnreyell Moonsilver |
I have a liberating command I can cast from my ring, but it only works with escape artist and I will only be adding 10 to the check.
Luna Solerra |
Gah, the restriction on fiery template and creatures with swim speeds is really killing me here. This would be a perfect time for a giant squid.
Luna Solerra |
For the record, this is a neat trick you can run on any good summon focused character. Summon Monster 6 with Superior Summons will give you 1d3+1 Bralani Azatas who can cast Cure Serious Wounds twice each four an average 20 healed per cast. Average on 1d3+1 is 3, times two casts each is 6, times 20 healed is 120 hp which, at the level you get SM 6, is roughly competitive with Heal although less consistent.

Dora moved to the side hall to the east to check it quickly.
Then will want to head to the southwest as previously described if others can lead.
FYI - I am going to hop a plane this afternoon/night, so I cannot post until tomorrow and will be at a hotel all this week, so it will be late before I can post.

Are we looking like we will be done prior to Retro Con? Wynn is signed up for a high table of siege of the diamond city.
