Guido Sansone

Shifting the grapple for more leverage, Guido begins to squeeze.
Non-Lethal Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
"Where's the book Nessian?"
| Tarondor |
Flinkae, I thought magi could not cast a spell as part of combat until 2nd level. No?
Nessian's Improved Feint w/grapple: 1d20 + 3 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 3 - 2 = 8
Nessian's attack on Guido w/grapple: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 5 - 2 = 9
Slachagok duels with the crimelord and leaps onto a nearby table, clearing room for those behind him. Etrigan bounds from wall to wall, kicking off and landing behind Nessian. Between them, Flinkae and Guido beat and stab the War Hounder chieftain, who does his best to fight back, but with little success as he is swarmed by Pathfinders.
Anyone, go!

"Tell me where the book is!"
Guido squeezes harder, becoming frustrated that Nessian doesn't just give in. This guy must be crazy.
Non-Lethal Dmg: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Intimidate: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Hero make axe go bad guy.
3rd time's the charm. Same attack, unless Nessian responds to Guido's interrogation.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Iason looks coolly over the room, seeing the man grappled, and walks in. W, S, SE. Then he murmurs a cantrip to detect magic: perhaps the book they seek is present, whether or not Nessian will speak of it.
Etrigan just grins at Nessian from a few feet away. "'Sup?"
"We wish to question him," Iason says sharply. Etrigan scowls, sighs, and curls his hands into fists rather than claws.
Claw 1, Non-lethal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22 Jesus my dice are hot tonight. O__O I just critted with a greatsword in another game...
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Claw 2, Non-lethal: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Confirm crit, Claw 1?: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
If it hits, extra crit damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Round 8
Status: HP 5/7,- AC 14/T: 12/FF: 12 - Perception +2 - F: +1/ R: +2/ W: +2 - CMB: +0 - CMD: 12, Speed: 30, Init. +2
standard: touch attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6, corrosive touch damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1
"How did the chicken miss the villian? With the melee touch attack!" <forced laughter>
| Tarondor |
Heh...
Guido's grip is terrifying. He sees the fear in Nessian's eyes, the crime lord rapidly re-examining his position. And then he passes out from the squeezing. And then Etrigan pummels him to within an inch of his life.
It's clear that Nessian will not be waking up any time soon. Plenty of time to truss him up and hand him over to the authorities...or not.
A brief search of Nessian's war room reveals the big black tome of ancient Taldan codes.
CONGRATULATIONS!

Conclusion
Though few will be aware of your bravery, by stopping the Silent Tide, you have saved Absalom from a potentially devastating attack. Better still, you have have brought Nessian and his War Hounders to justice.
You have the thanks of Yargos and his friends, and they ensure that the Pathfinders' reputation within the Puddle District is deservedly enhanced. Yargos will prove to be a friend and ally that you can rely upon in the future. Finally, Grandmaster Torch may prove to be a valuable future business contact.

Yeah! Eat it, Black Echelon.
Well, I had a blast. Thanks Iason, Guido, and Flinkae for the funny moments and enjoyable roleplaying, and Tarondor for being crazy enough to make it all happen. I can only assume we put all the other tables to shame.
Oh yeah, and if Faction Missions were still at play, this would be the part where I'd actually remember mine and try to slip Yargos that line about the Eagle Knights.

Iason shakes hands all around, giving a polite nod to his colleagues. Occasionally even devils fight on the side of the angels, so to speak.
As for Etrigan... in the aftermath, the outsider is nowhere to be seen. (Because he's outdoors, eating a dog.) He gives each Pathfinder a jaunty salute with his gore-spattered hands as they depart the building.
"Au revoir, colleagues and friends!
"Until we meet and fight again!"

For a monk, it's not a bad idea-- just hand it off to other party members to cast on you when feasible. Even scrolls aren't a bad thing to keep on hand if you don't want to drop the 750, or the prestige, right off. 25 GP for an hour of +4 AC? Sign me up! Heck, even potions of Mage Armor at 50 GP aren't bad, since you can drink them yourself and don't need another PC to cast them on you.
Unrelatedly, this got Iason and Etrigan up to level 3. Woot. Power attack for extra claw fun!
