Snyk |

"Options are: head toward the pillar/island in the center of the brambles, use the tunnel that goes under the brambles to who knows where, or confront what i suspect to be goblins near the bridge.
Since our goal is to eliminate the goblin threat I'd suggest starting with them.

Tessa Faundral |

"That is an option Snyk, but would they not have the advantage? They have spent time setting up their situation in preparation of someone daring to challenge their claim."
"Perhaps Robori's grace will have the tunnel take us behind their lines. Then we could surprise them and improve our chances of success?"
"Personally, I'd rather not make a frontal assault on an enemy that is entrenched."

GM Sphen |

Just to be clear. There is NO "pillar/island in the center of the brambles". The island is off the coast a very short way and accessible by the bridge. Reference Shalelu's crude map in the map link to see more. If it still doesn't make sense, I'll try to find a better way to describe it.

GM Sphen |

Does anyone object to the tunnel? 1 day to voice other opinions. After that, I'll ask how you guys want to approach (presuming that's what you decide).

GM Sphen |

Okay folks, I'm still waiting to hear a plan. How do you guys approach the place? Give me something. Do you want to try a stealth approach (doable even with Harness in the group)? Do you want to try a diplomatic option? Or are you going to do more of a breach and clear, frontal assault sort of thing?

Tessa Faundral |

As the concensus seems to conclude their best approach is the tunnel, Tessa heads out. Stopping a few paces away, she turns to the group. "Lets do this quietly. It's important we don't give ourselves away. if we are discovered, we'd might as well have gone straight up to the front door."
"Keep your eyes pealed for those foul creatures and keep quiet. Snyk, after you."
Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
My plan - sneak to the tunnel and avoid the goblins as best as we can. Hopefully the tunnel empties out behind enemy lines and we can surprise them.

Harness |

Harness nods. ”Let’s be quiet, and quick!” he murmurs, doing his best to dampen his usual noise.
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 - 1 - 5 ⇒ (15) + 1 - 1 - 5 = 10 [-1 shield, -5 armor]

GM Sphen |

All pieces have been added to the new map. Please place yourselves in the rough direction you'd like to approach from. (Presumably, that's from the south, but I don't want to assume. Just at the edge of the map.

Snyk |

Snyk takes the lead as he guides the comparatively noisy group to the secret tunnel.
I put snyk on the bottom of the map which i assume is south. Which number is the tunnel?

Harness |

Harness will be close to Snyk - I’ll try to place him when I can get to a computer
Harness looks about for Cavenn.
”Cavenn!!!” the adamantian whispers loudly.

GM Sphen |

Snyk takes the lead as he guides the comparatively noisy group to the secret tunnel.
I put snyk on the bottom of the map which i assume is south. Which number is the tunnel?
The wood just above the C1 number is the entrance. The wood there is a crumbly looking archway. Ignore the dotted lines.

Tessa Faundral |

"Hmmm that looks potentially dangerous." whispers Tessa.
Tugging her holy symbol out, she kisses it softly and mutters a prayer to herself before nodding to Snyk. "Keep your wits about you. Surely this is this wiser option...that bridge just seems too obvious"

GM Sphen |

Okay folks, I'm back from vacation and home with a consistent WiFi connection and everything. Here I am. So, back into it. Time for the goblins.
Snyk, I didn't see you roll a stealth roll. But everyone else did. Tessa is the lowest at a 6. Let's see how this goes.
Snyk Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
Remember that I like to use passive perceptions for creatures and players that aren't actively on the look out for things.
10 = Passive Perception base
-1= Goblin Perception bonus is a negative 1
-2= Distance peanalty (You all don't know where they are, but I do and they are 20 to 25 feet away at least0
-5= Object in the way (the thorn wall)
______
2= The grand total of their Perception score.
I won't always be this detailed. Just wanted you folks to see what you're dealing with here and how I factor things. This time you all got extremely lucky that even a 6 was sufficient.

Snyk |

go us!
Snyk takes point heading into the tunnel
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 for traps
Stealth: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
K Dungeon: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

GM Sphen |

You progress safely into the bramble patch. Once inside, you begin to see small tunnels running throughout. And marks left by many small feet.

GM Sphen |

You can hear small voices from further in, but are unable to determine any direction besides ahead.

GM Sphen |

Snyk takes the left path and peers around the corner.
do y0ou want me to roll perception whenever i move?
If you're actively looking, then yes. Roll your Perrceptions. I will use passive perceptions when you aren't actively looking or when a need a number to roll against. This time, I'll roll it for you so we don't have to wait since I'm a slow poster.
Snyk Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
A four foot high tunnel winds through the dense briars and nettles. The floor is hard-packed earth, with patches of wiry plants growing stubbornly here and there.
Snyk: You can hear the surf beat against the rocks of the cliff that this bramble patch grows on. You know by the foot prints in the dirt that there has at least been gobling activity in the recent past. But you're ears do not pick up the sound of anything over the waves and the occcasional call of a sea bird. No movement besides your party members. No voices. Nothing.
Everyone else: Please make sure that you are moving your pieces. Otherwise, if/when Initiative starts, you will still be back at the entrance and have to move all the way through to reach your allies.
Anything past the entrance (C1) is considered a type of squeezing for medium and larger sized creatures. This means: -2 to attack, -2 to Reflex Saves, -2 to Initiative. No running or charging.

Tessa Faundral |

Stealth: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Slowly moving up behind Snyk, Tessa does her best to stay alert. 'If I can root them in place with Robori's aid, Cavenn and the mouse should make quick work of them.'
Glancing back towards the strange priestess, he smiles 'I am actually glad to have her along. While her views are a bit strange....her magic has been quite helpful.'

Harness |

Harness clears his throat, an urgrnt rumbling inside his metal head. His eyes waver, and one would be forgiven for thinking he were nervous...
"Best if I wait here at this end of the tunnel until you...smaller folk give the all clear. Robori made me not to crawl in tight spaces..."
Please place Harness at the beginning of the tunnel if he is not already there...

GM Sphen |

Piece's are positioned (Harness). They also now have some outline colors to help identify them. What's the next step for you folks?

Cavenn the Black |

Cavenn calls out to Snyk softly: "Lead on to the northwest there. We can check that area first then come back around." Assuming he will go that way, Cavenn follows closely behind.

GM Sphen |

Snyk: You see a strange sight. A large opening/room in the thistles that is completely empty. Surely something of this size would be in use. A storage area, a sleeping area, cooking, something. Tracks liter the dirt, but are obviously old and fading. You can also see that the tunnel continues on to the left, but cannot see beyond the out push of briar on that side.
DM Roll: 1d100 ⇒ 44

Harness |

Harness nervously glances about, wishing he had modifications for his ocular array, and wondering how his more fleshy friends were faring.
Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17

GM Sphen |

Hanress: You hear all the same things listed above: You can hear the surf beat against the rocks of the cliff that this bramble patch grows on. You know by the foot prints in the dirt that there has at least been gobling activity in the recent past. But you're ears do not pick up the sound of anything over the waves and the occcasional call of a sea bird. No movement besides your party members. No voices. Nothing
What is everyone else doing?

Tessa Faundral |

Keeping a safe distance back, Tessa is also following Snyk.
'With that ones ability to see in the dark, lets hope it sees any foes first.'
'We'll have to figure out what we're going to do about a light source before we get any farther though'
