Blibdoolpoolp |
Blibdoolpoolp drifts in front of Eleeta, supercharged spear clutched in her tendrils as she waited for the skeleton to approach.
Piercing: 1d6 + 3 + 4d6 ⇒ (6) + 3 + (4, 3, 4, 4) = 24
GM MacShack |
As Blipdoolpoolp braces against the skeletal crew member's next attack, the generator located in one of the exterior walls lets out another wave of unnatural cold. 1 cold damage to Eleeta. As it recedes, Blipdoolpoolp and Eleeta can see that the skeleton in front of them seems to have healed some of its injuries.

Domak moves up and prepares to fire at the next skeleton that comes around the corner.
Trick Attack:

Semi Auto Pistol, tactical:
to hit 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Damage 1d6 ⇒ 6
GM MacShack |
One of the skeletons continues towards Blipdoolpoolp, Eleeta, and Morroda. However, it meets a swift end at the point of the supercharged spear.
Out of the two remaining enemies, one of them comes around the corner, and is dispatched by Domak's sneak attack. The other one follows just behind, lashing out before the vesk is able to fire a second shot.
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Fortunately, it is not quite able to injure the starfinder.

Eleeta looks at the remaining skeleton, and seems to for the first time realize that this is not all fun and games. She panics and uses her last emergency spell to fire more pellets of magic at the last undead.
MM damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3, 2) + 3 = 9
Morvruul the Merchant |
Morvruul allows the others to subdue the apparent last of the undead crew as he considers how to secure some of the necromantic technology for further study.
GM MacShack |
Domak and Morvruul notice three glowing projectiles whiz past them and shatter the last skeletal crew member. We are out of combat.
With the final visible enemy defeated and all of the generators shut down, the ship is strangely calm. From the exit opposite the cargo bay, a larger room is visible which is bathed in red light.
Morvruul the Merchant |
"If this were a merchant vessel, the bridge should be this way..." Morvrrul says as he moves quickly down the hallway.
Morvruul the Merchant |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
As the perky half-orc clatters on excessively behind him, Morvruul tries to commit the ship layout to memory. However, due to Eleeta's excited speech, he is having some difficulty.
With an audible sigh the "merchant" turns toward his fellow Starfinder and suggests, "If you think space is fun on the inside of a ship, I bet you might enjoy it all the more if you were to step outside ."
The witchwyrd places one of his hands through a gap between a pair of bone-like bulkhead and into the vacuum of space. "These Corpse Fleet vessels make it quite easy to go for a spacewalk." he notes. "And I would be happy to hold the tether for you," the witchwyrd lies, "to make sure that you don't wander too far."
Blibdoolpoolp |
Blibdoolpoolp takes Morvruul at his word and drifts out of the ship...and back into the ship. "Thank you for your advice, Morvruul! Never again will mySelf be the same."
Morvruul the Merchant |
Though it is obvious that Morvruul had observed the barathu drift in and out of the ship, if the witchwyrd's mouth is agape, it is not obvious since Morvruul's mouth is obscured as the result of his adherence to the traditional witchwyrd custom of covering of the mouth. Nevertheless, the "merchant" seems unusually speechless.
GM MacShack |
The room ahead is indeed the bridge. The stations are constructed of the same bone and metal lattices as the rest of the ship, seeming to grow from the floor. Signs of battle damage are evident, and there are no remaining crew members. There are banks of computers here, some of which appear to still be functional.
Since Eoxian ships are run on a mixture of technology and magic, accessing these systems can be done with either a Computers check or a Mysticism check.
Morvruul the Merchant |
"I am just a simple a merchant, so if any of you have any assistance to offer, I would not decline it." Morvruul suggests as he approaches the computer console on the bridge.
Domak |
Domak is only too happy to stay 'inside' the eoxian vessel.
"Get me access and I can pilot it, I think, but I'm no good with computers."
GM MacShack |
Morvruul and Eleeta are able to bypass the computer's security systems, gaining access to some captain's logs.
Captain Skorper Morrigar
12 Pharast, 317 AG
03:24
Encountered a distress signal in the Vast. We arrived at the planet Ulmarid, where the signal seemed to be based. We sent down a scout ship to the surface, but we were too late. The SFS Unbounded Wayfarer and her crew were too mangled to create any new recruits for the Fleet. We were able to salvage some scrap metal and Starfinder insignias, but nothing of significant value.
What is dead may never die.
Acting Captain Delgar Shirris

As we attempted to leave Ulmarid, a ship identified as the Lawblight emerged from an asteroid belt and attacked us. While we were able to destroy the living creatures' ship, we sustained serious damage, and our captain was slain along with many of our crew. A diplomat - Exegara Long-Tongue - has been sent in a small scouting craft to pawn our salvage at Absalom Station. She should be able to return within 30 days with the necessary supplies to repair our ship and continue our glorious campaign.
What is dead may never die.
TLDR The Threnody found the wreckage of the Unbounded Wayfarer a while ago, but were crippled by pirates. Exegara was sent to buy repair supplies from Absalom Station by pawning off what they had salvaged, including the Starfinder insignias.
The logs also contain co-ordinates for Ulmarid, where the lost Starfinder vessel crashed.
Morvruul the Merchant |
Upon recovering the information from the bridge computer aboard the Corpse Fleet vessel, Morvruul shows visible, frantic disappointment. His multiple arms gesture in the air.
Where are the ship plans?! Where are the weapon schematics?! he wonders as he checks and rechecks the initial data.
He seems pleased once he locates the captain's logs. Splendid! An opportunity for salvage of a Starfinder vessel! We simply need to retrieve the technology to.... The witchwyrd's hopes are dashed as he reviews the logs. His covered mouth again forms into a frown. [I]'Nothing of significant value'?! This cannot be! Where is the profit in this mission?! Have my efforts to ingratiate myself into this Society been all for naught?
Finally, a glimmer appears within the eye of the "merchant'. What is this? The 'Lawblight'? 'Destroyed'? Could its remains still be found around Ulmarid? Ripe for the picking? Ready for plunder?
"Undead are notoriously untrustworthy!" Morvruul declares aloud. "We must secure passage to Ulmarid at once! And learn what has truly befallen the poor crew of the Unbounded Wayfarer!"
