GM RePete |
Welcome pathfinders! This is to be the site of PFS #7-12 The Twisted Circle. I intend to start once we have a table of 5 or 6 and all are ready.
Once players are selected, I request you secret squirrel your way into the gameplay tab, roll any dayjob checks you may have, and get to know each other. There is no need to but your PFS#, Faction, Prestige, XP, etc. in this page. Instead, fill out this questionnaire.
I do like headers. They don't have to be elaborate. If you need a template, one is linked in my profile. As long as they have your pertinent stats (AkA AC, Current and Total HP, CMD, etc) it'll work for me. I also need you to fill in your initiative mod, perception mod, and preferred location in a standard marching order on the 'Maps and Handouts' link above.
Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Combot 41 |
Suddenly a trap door slides open in the floor. A large clay abomination lumbers out of the door and looks to each of you in turn.
Click. Whirrr.
"Hello persons. I is Combot 41. My function is to help GM RePete if you disappear during the scenario. I will try to emulate you. I am not smart. I am not creative. It is wise to use me as little as possible." states a mechanical voice.
Slipping back through the open door, it slides close behind the creation.
Faint sounds of Zzzt. Click. can be heard from below.
~~Botting Policy~~
I will use Combot 41 under the following circumstances:
--> It's combat, and 24 hours have passed;
--> The group needs a skill check from you, and 24 hours have passed;
--> You tell me that you will be gone for a few days, and ask me to bot you.
I prefer if I don't have to bot. However, to keep the game moving, I will. If I have to bot you, I will avoid using non-renewable resources unless it is absolutely necessary.
If you have a 'bot me' spoiler describing your desires in your profile, I will use it.
GM RePete |
Razka, should be fixed now. Let me know if you encounter further issues.
And yes, please go and fill in the three items on slide one of the maps/handouts link above.
Edit: Looks like our APL falls exactly at 3. So you can choose play up for 4-5 tier rewards and increased difficulty or down for 1-2 tier rewards and easier time
Azrael the Talon |
Per the guide, I believe with six players we should play tier up with 4 player adjustments.
That would be my preference, but would not object if we go any other way.
I don't foresee any outages on myself even during the holiday season.

You are correct. Forgot they changed that a while back.
GM RePete |
Starting with Season 4, scenarios were designed for six characters and contained methods to adjust for tables with four players. When the APL of a table is between two subtiers (like APL 3 for a Tier 1–5 scenario), a party of four characters must play the lower tier without any adjustments for party size. A party of five to seven characters whose APL falls between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustments found throughout the scenario.
As Azrael pointed out, the choice option has been removed. The only exception is if none of the players are high enough level for the higher tier and you still fall in the middle.
I bolded the part that matters here.
Azrael the Talon |
I agree it may be rough for the level one, but granted that he is not a frontliner, perhaps survivable if played cautiously. But definitely difficult.
My alternate suggestion, I can offer Razka a spot in a scenario I'm currently running and bring Z..D.. in this scenario, we'll still fall in the same tier adjustments.
The scenario I'm running is one out of two, and is still in the beginning stages so not much is missed out, one player recently dropped up leaving a spot open. This also means a promise of a scenario immediately following since it's a two parter.
Razka may view the current gameplay here.
Don't mean to step on anyone's shoes, Just trying to find a win win situation.

Diplomacy via Caravan: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Oh, and since this has caused confusion in the past, Raijan's The Thundering Spirit's social identity

John here, performing like the handsome flute player that he is...
Perform: Flute: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Thrugg |
Thrugg is here..glad to be brought up from the bench.
profession soldier: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
GM RePete |
Azrael the Talon, still need you to fill out the questionnaire (Link) here.
Omar and Raijan need to fill in the marching order, initiative, and Perception of slide 1 on Maps/Handouts link at the top of the campaign.
Sir vigilante, I suspect you will be switching aliases depending on which identity you are in. Aside from perceptions to notice the change, anything I should be aware of a need to track for that? You're my first vigilante character to encounter and I'm quite interested in seeing how it works for society play.
All that aside, looks like I'll get us going this evening.
The Thundering Spirit |
Yep, I'll be using the different aliases to indicate which one I'm currently running around as, though so far I haven't done a lot of changing mid-scenario.
Mechanically the only difference between them is that Raijan has +4 to Diplomacy that TTS doesn't, and Raijan is Chaotic Good while TTS is just Chaotic. Usually depending on how the briefing sounds, I'll stick to one or the other for most of the scenario, but his take-10 Disguise check to not be the other one is a 29, should it come up.
Oh, and I don't want to move anyone around in the marching order, but if other folk don't object, I'd as soon be 2 or 3

Minutes: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Raijan, it is a disease. You feel it taking hold, but the penalties haven't hit you yet. The rolled penalties will take affect in 3 minutes.
Kaminari Raijan |
Thanks for the info - that disease wouldn't happen to make d20's roll garbage would it? :p
GM RePete |
Just a heads up, some life issues popped up this week. Have a grandmother that's health took a turn and a cousin that passed away.
I hope to get a post up tonight, but it may not happen till tomorrow.
Kaminari Raijan |
I'm really sorry to hear that. Thoughts are with you and yours.
Thrugg |
Sorry for my lack of posting here lately. It has been one problem after another here. Starting off with my old trusty laptop dying on me. Then they redid the computer access at work, and paizo was blocked from the IP for being a not trusted site. Then when I got my laptop up and running, I got saddled with a trainee that will most likely being terminated after the new year, and it my job to do the final assessments.
So please bear with me while I play catch up. Or if I am too behind, I will understand being cut.
GM RePete |
Update: I will not be able to post Thursday, but should be able to maintain a minimum of 1/day post the rest of this week. Thank you for your patience in this.
@Thrugg: I understand and hope you are able to stay with us. If it's too much, just let me know. Otherwise, let me know if there is anything you are doing during this time of inspecting the town. Are you with one of the groups? Are you poking around on your own?
Jiggo Maelerant |
GM RePete |
Congrats! You have completed and survived. I'm in a local Con this weekend so it may be Monday before I get Chronicles up.
I'll try to get a post up to conclude this on a break to wrap it up.
The Thundering Spirit |
Thanks for running!
John "the Antagonizer" Carlos |
Thanks all, good group and great job handling all the oddities. That was a weird little seed pod deal. Excellent work GM!
Jiggo Maelerant |
Jiggo will be happy to help with heal checks (at +6) to give a +4 bonus vs disease checks during the trip.
GM RePete |
You are correct Jiggo. Just about done with the chronicles.
Raijan, you would still need 2 saves with DC 15.
Omar, need another save DC 15 to purge the disease (requires 2 saves). You have +4 from Jiggo's heal check to it. Once cured, your ability damage will heal normally.
Alternatively you two could spend 1 PP or 150 GP to hire a level 5 cleric to cast Remove Disease. The cleric will make a 1d20+5 caster level check to purge the disease. You can pool your GP together to afford the casting if you desire, but no one can lend their PP. You could also hire a level 11 cleric for 330 GP to guarantee the spell works.
Once the disease is removed your ability damage will heal normally.
Edit:
Raijan:
You are free to try to roll for it (looks like you would go unconscious from Cha before your con took you out). Requires 2 consecutive DC 15 Saves. I'll allow you to assume Jiggo gives you +4 on them from heal checks.
If you end up having to pay for it...
Well...editing the post changed the roll for some reason. The first one was high enough to work, so I'll keep that one.
You're cured. Just let me know how you pay for it (PP, Gold, Pooled from companions)
GM RePete |
If anyone ends up paying for a remove disease, I will adjust accordingly, but here's the chronicles in the mean time.
Omar Posada |
Ok, then it sounds like with the +4 Omar made the 2nd consecutive save...so no cure disease. If that is correct, then his chronicle is good to go! Thanks Jiggo and GM!!!
Jiggo Maelerant |
The chronicles look good to me, thanks GM.
I rolled heal checks in the gameplay tab to help Omar and Raijan with their disease. That should give them a +4 to the Fort Save. Omar should be in the clear.
Kaminari Raijan |
Chronicle looks good, and Raijan looks cured!
Thrugg |
Thanks GM, looks good to me.
