@Spooky: 20 pt. buy, as requested. Aasimars get +2 Wisdom & Charisma.

STR 10 +10 = 16
DEX 10
CON 10 +5 = 14
INT 10 +2 = 12
WIS 10 (+2)=12 -2= 10
CHA 10 +5=14 (+2)=16

Does that make sense?

No, I know, I didn't mean your allocation of points. I meant just in general, the decisions you made.

@Spooky: Alright. What is it about my character that confuses you?

Having only ten Dexterity and fourteen Constitution, but sixteen Charisma. It's definitely not in a "Wow you have no idea what you're doing do you please leave" way, I've just never seen a Barbarian built this way.

I wanted to try playing a warlord sort of barbarian: one who leads armies against the legions of Hell.

A good leader needs a lot of Charisma for followers & cohorts, and the Marshal is a Mythic path suitable for high Charisma characters, right?

The archetype I picked gets lots of damage reduction as it levels up, so I focused more on Constitution than Dexterity.

And, I'll admit, I really wanted to play a barbarian differently from the way they're typically played. :)

Spooky GM wrote:
@DarkPhoenixx: Read the player's guide. It's a free download, and explains the traits and how they relate to your Mythic path.

I did, i ment source of mythic power (tied to ascension). Anyway, i am not sure i fully understand that so gonna stick with normal feats.

By the way, I should ask: are we going to be using an experience track? If so, what kind?

@Victrix: No worries, I get the idea. Just a bit of a surprise to see it laid out that way. Not necessarily a bad thing.

@Dragoncat: It's going to be kept arbitrary, especially if we end up with a party of five or six, but I'll make sure the party is leveled up suitably as you progress. Adventure paths are good for giving that sort of information.

Alrighty then! Thanks for letting us know!

my question is about the touch by divinity trait. It says we get a domain but can we sub it for a subdomain if we want??

Yes, you can take a subdomain's spell instead.

One of the Character Concepts I was considering. As far as myself, I live in the Midwest United States; I've been playing RPG's for hrmphm many decades & I try to post every day & give advance warning when something is going to keep me from doing so.

Background:
Living among the Sarkorian refugees occupying the lowest rungs of Kenebres society, the young girl called Belladonna could only remember two things about her parents. They raised her in the Green Faith, as their parents had raised them; and they died fighting the corruption the Worldwound had inflicted upon their beloved nation.
Of course, for quite some time in her youth, she mostly knew she needed to keep moving, for Belledonna didn't grow up in Kenebres. She grew up hiding & scurrying out in the blighted landscape of the Worldwound itself. Perhaps it was her time there, perhaps it was something that happened in her mother's womb, but Belladonna has always known she wasn't quite human. The taint of the Abyss runs through her veins, it gives her power, it whispers to her in the night.
It finds no audience however. She is too busy listening to the other voices to bother with that stunted siren call. She doesn't know if it is her parents or elder ancestor's still, but she knows that sacrifice is also in her blood & when the time comes, she will know what she must do.

Appearance:
At first glance, Belladonna seems no more or less unusual than any of the other Sarkorian refugees swelling the ghettos of Kenebres. The most unusual thing about her is her uncommon pallor & blood-red hair. Of course, the pallor conceals the fact that her flesh is not so vulnerable to all the woes that harm humanity & her hair conceals a double row of nub-like horns which travel from just behind her forehead to just above the nape of her neck.
She conceals the cat-like glow of her eyes by avoiding dark places.

I got church stuff to help with tonight, and will fill in the background spoiler when i get home. I'm also not sure what domains to take, so i'm waiting to decide.

Will be taking 20 levels of cleric and playing the divine mythic path

A concept i'm fond of myself. If I may, i'd recommend an Angel-Blooded Aasimar, if the DM permits, as it lends itself much better to what your trying to pull off. Stats in the right place and an Alter Self for that extra +2 to Strength when you need it.

As far as the charisma goes, take the Spirit Totem powers; you could get some badass Aragon army of the dead style fluff with that :). Perhaps they could be benevolent, former followers slain in the battle.

Or, heck, even the spirits of her parents, fighting alongside her like they always should have.

Settles it, then. She's of Angel-Blooded descent. Just need to properly update her sheet now.

EDIT: Properly updated now.

Yuel is full updated to be a Swashbuckler now. Skill setup isn't optimal but it represents the training he has had and fulfils the requirements for the Lantern Bearer PrC.

Swashbuckler looks like a lot of fun.

He also became a servant of Iomedae, having learned of her teachings from the crusaders. He has given an Elven twist to it though and basically goes the way of the honorable knave, taking a more light hearted approach to her teachings.

http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=738079

Look:
A tall olive brown shined women, with fiery red hair and hazel-brown eyes. She wears a red and white dress with thin straps and a low cut top, brown hooded cape and red slippers. On left wrist lies a strange mark that a few people would recognize as the sign of the seekers spiral.

past:
Laria Feir is the daughter of two Riftwardens, one of which was celestial descended. After their disappearance, she was placed in the care of her aunt, who was a member of the Collegiate College. She was unrolled relatively old, and began her studies behind most other students. Laria's school life was filled with mediocre grades, but she was a popular child. Set apart from the usual book wormy type, Laria was a flirt and always distracted bypeople or news. She learned better from listening then reading anyway, which, surprisingly, lent herself well to memorizing information without notes. She was always talking to bards that dropped by and listened to their tales. What intrigued her most of all was the Worldwound. She would draw the mark on her left wrist all over the books and notes (getting her in trouble many times) and eventually made her arcane mark mimic it as well. She was obsessed with the region. Finally, after graduating her basic magics, she gathered her things and left to see the world…actually only one place, her birth place. Her destiny.

Personality:
Laria is a charismatic young woman with a strong sense of right and wrong, but not big on listening to what someone else says is. She knows lots of things about magic, nature and history, but is rather lax on gathering books and reading. She does, mind you, and she can focus if need be…so long as there is a need.

Crunch:
Emberkin Aasimar Arcanist leading to Collegiate Arcanist for the good arcane spellcaster aspect and a bit of the fire nature flair on druid spells. She will take the Angel Blood, Wings later. Trait wise i went with the Riftwarden Orphan trait (if not obvious) and Trustworthy. Spells will revolve around aspects of fire (damage and things that give a fire feel, like being enchanted by flames or not clouds mimicking smoke), celestial beings and protection

I'd like to offer up Caliban, Elven Magus Hexcrafter.

I'm relatively new to play by post, but I'm really interested in this campaign, and I think it looks pretty awesome.

All the stats are in the profile, but I can paste them here if you prefer.

Thanks for your consideration!

if not accepted id love to be a reader if possible

Oh, anyone want to share back story? Previously met, traveled together, cousins, lovers, rivals, beer buddies?

Borello, Android Witch (White Haired Witch, Winter Witch) Background, etc to be updated (hopefully tomorrow.)

I have a tiefling sorcerer that is currently caught in the middle of the fight and Chaotic Neutral. Plan is to migrate to CG as the game progresses.

Rift Warden angling for archmage.

Okay Kazalin is done. I haven't selected his prepared spells but he hasn't prepared any ATM so its all good. Everything else should be in order. Let me know if anything isnt

I could write in as previously met.

Lack of response means I have read your submission (or what there is of it so far) and have no concerns or questions. Good job A+.

@Fomiel: I'm looking more for characters who are Good right from the start, leaving the redemption themes on a character level for more plot-oriented things.

@likrin: Sorry, you're gonna have to pick one character of your two to submit, in the interest of fairness.

Also, I'd prefer if people waited until after selection to start forming connections. There are a lot of applicants so far, and it makes the process really awkward because I'm no more likely to take characters who happen to be tied to other characters, making the whole thing kind of a wash.

WinterSUN actually. The name kind of gets cut off on the sheet because it's so long. Now that I've seen the lineup though, I'm thinking I may switch to something a bit more divine than paladin and go with Heirophant. Perhaps I could retool Arzhus into a Life Oracle/Paladin. He'd basically be a bottomless font of HP for the party.

Appearance:
Everything about the man gives an impression of weariness. Sunken eyes sit above sallow cheeks partially disguised by an unkempt beard that is flecked with grey. His armor is patchwork and tarnished, the leather on the scabbard of his long blade coming from at least three different vintages and his shoulders hunched as he rests at languid attention.

But when regarded closer, his eyes have a hint of steel, the sallow complexion belied by fair health and the grey flecked beard not dismissing a muscular physique. Even his patchwork armor only looks in ill-repair, instead maintained for efficacy if not appearances. And though his stance is tired, it is still solid.

The solitary shimmer upon his person comes fleeting from a ring that is borne around his neck. A simple band of worked gold upon a leather thong.

Personality:
Gethric has long lost the need for flowered words and idle banter. What words do cross his lips are scarce and spoken with a gravelly timbre. He shares few friends in the barracks of the guards, where he eats, lives and sleeps when not at his duty; and those few he keeps are as aged as he... remnants perhaps of a life lived differently in his youth. He views the newer recruits and crusaders that teem within Kenabres as waves upon a shorewall, coming and going without leaving lasting marks.

He does what is asked, without complaint, and the sorrow he bears is an ancient hurt that has cut so deep as to be beyond healing. The only time that emotion seems to cross his face is when battle is joined. He becomes a man possessed, subsumed within his reckless fervor. Ever to the front, ever bold and forthright, and ever with little regard for his own safety.

Ideally I see his Warpriest abilities as latent and not necessarily a known talent to him. They'll manifest as time goes by in response to what happens to him. Over the campaign he'll grow in resolve and find his purpose in pursuing the one that was responsible for his inamorata's demise.

I submit Konny Hammerhead for consideration.

Just as an added note, I opted for Trickster because Champion is usually dogpiled in most of the threads I've seen. If the opposite turns out to be the case, I have no reservations about switching it back to Champ.

I wasn't even initially aware my trait would lead me down a particular Mythic path; I just loved the flavour I could build around it. I suppose Champion is perfectly valid for a combat monk though :).

Kazalin and DM Pendin, I'm also building a Warpriest who's going Hierophant...

The more Hierophants the merrier!

I just updated Kazalin's feats. Dumped weapon focus and tok combat casting. Don't know what i was thinking playing a front line cleric without combat casting!

I've decided that recruitment is probably going to end a day or two early. Maybe Saturday, so we can get a bit of a start on it before the holidays. The recruitment I ran last week went a lot slower, but it seems like a lot of people are submitting characters they've made before and there's more of them, so.it seems reasonable to make the call a bit sooner. We'll see Saturday evening how many people are still in need of more time, and go from there.

@Archpaladin Zousha: Oops, my bad.

hmmm I fancy my chances.

1 out of 6 for Frontliners.....

DM Pendin Fust presenting Brighton Tongfinger. Dwarf Crusader Cleric of Torag. Took the Touched by Divinity campaign trait and planning to go Hierophant if chosen. The profile should be complete with character info.

Good luck all! I can say that whoever gets chosen will have a blast!

That would fit the story a little

An all Tiefling/Tiefling and Aasimar party would definitely be interesting to see, and would be a neat idea to run with, and I kind of wish it had occured to me sooner because that would be an interesting twist to play into the redemption themes with. Not going to spring a gimmick on people this far into recruitment, though.

Borello has been formatted and background and personality notes added.

This is Lucendar and I present Rei-ko, Goblin rogue knife-master! I chose the exposed to awfulness campaign trait and going down the Trickster path. Lots of stiff competition here but I'll give it a shot (just love the picture of all these bad asses in the room and in walks the 3' goblin!) I am online a lot and live in the EST time zone (GMT-5). Crunch in profile.

Background:
Rei-ko was born into the Blacktooth goblin tribe some 16 years ago. At the time, his tribe of 100+ goblins was in conflict with a nearby human settlement in the marsh. Rei-ko was chosen at an early age to be trained as a spy/infiltrator and given to the care of the Marsh Rats, a group of goblins trained as assassins and hit and run tactics. As he grew, Rei-ko was taught common and taught the infiltration and stealth techniques to bypass the human settlement's defenses and locate intel. He excelled at his craft and took to it like a fish to water. He often spied for the tribe and gave them the humans' caravan schedules and supply orders. He was taught exclusively to fight and specialize with the daggers and the bow. Hence, Knife master and River Rat traits. He easily scaled the settlement's 20' walls and fell with grace to the ground below with no harm to himself. Acrobatics +14, Climb +8.

However, a strange thing happened to Rei-ko, as he spied on the humans. He began to analyze things with his above-goblin intelligence and he began to care for them. He found their foods and aromas quite pleasant, as compared to the goblin lair, which reeked of filth. He found the children playing quite amusing and carefree. He admired their hard work and struggle to survive by farming or tanning leather.

As the years passed, Rei-ko's spying became more vital, and through him, they learned that the humans were tiring of the conflict with the goblins and were hiring mercenaries to deal with the matter. The chieftain consulted his shaman and the plan was to sacrifice 10 goblins to summon and appease a barghest to aid them. A lottery was held and unfortunately, Rei-ko's name came up as one of the sacrifices. The night of the ceremony, Rei-ko and the nine others were bound and gagged, as the barghest was summoned. Upon arrival, he began immediately consuming the souls of the bound goblins. Realizing his life was at stake, Rei-ko struggled and escaped his bonds (Escape Artist +10). He ran for his life avoiding the guards with his preternatural speed (Initiative +6. The barghest was enraged and began killing the goblins indiscriminately. Rei-ko fled, the screams of his people in his ears, as bolts flew about him, some finding their mark.

Wounded and half dead, Rei-ko appeared at the human settlement, with his hands in the air, offering them his intel and assistance. He told them of the barghest and the tribe's plans. He was healed and led the mercenaries back to the tribe's lair, where they dispatched the threat. Unfortunately, the Blacktooth tribe was no more. Homeless and clanless, Rei-ko applied for asylum at the settlement and after a probationary period, was allowed to remain.

In the last 3 years, Rei-ko has moved around, always serving the cause of good and on the watch for more demon incursions. He knows his kind is discriminated against, but he hopes he can atone for his race's evils.

Appearance:
Rei-ko is 3'2", with red eyes, grey skin, taut body, with numerous jewelry on his ears. He dresses in loose robes, which cover his leather armor and his bandolier of 3 daggers and light mace. Over his shoulder, he carries a shortbow and quiver with 20 arrows.

Honestly, I think I'll bow out of this one. I've got a lot of extra work for the holidays, and there seem to be plenty of opportunities for WotR later. Have fun everybody! :)

Roster update again, and things are definitely strting to get interesting. Problem is, the field keeps getting bigger, and I wonder how much waiting on the handful of people who have yet to post is worth it. So, final party selection might happen tomorrow night instead of Saturday night, we'll see. It depends on how many people who haven't finished yet manage to.

For anyone who hasn't posted yet but would like to apply, feel free; I've made tenth level characters in one night before, so making a first level character is definitely doable, and if you're able to, then I won't turn you away. But in terms of waiting for people to finish, from this point on, nobody will be allowed to dot and be considered in the "do I give them more time" front. If you dot, do what you can, but the longer this goes on the more futile it gets.

Yeaaaah, that settles it: I'm repurposing Hrodlan as a Champion path. Fortunately, the Trickster and Champion traits aren't terribly dissimilar. I'm kind of in awe that there are 6 Tricksters, hah.

Apparently, everyone wants to outwit the demons, not roll over them with armies or magical might.
