It depends on the cleric himself. It has to be the same time every day. Only restriction clerics have is that the spells cast during 8 hours prior to the praying count against the limit they have for the next day. So usually it is in the morning.
Konny Hammerhead
RL got complicated, please bot me. Sorry.
I should be able to post again in two or three days.
Brighton Tongfinger
Thanks for botting!
Yeah, basically Brighton does his praying when he does some early morning forge/crafting work. He'd be fine taking watch.
Also, hmmm...He would have cast bless then...not sure lol. I'll figure that out next round.
GM Niles WotR
I was waiting on Belle, go ahead and post your actions guys so that I can post a recap asap.
GM Niles WotR
Yeah its a pretty nice feat for this campaign. Also, didn't you have an animal companion? I totally forgot until just now looking at your feat choices.
Belledonna
I do. Belledonna hasn't trained her for combat yet, so she mostly keeps her near her tent, which we aren't particularly near at the moment.
Belledonna
I should have made it clear, when Belledonna takes a 5' step away from the Spiritual Weapon, she does so so as to keep Barundar between her & it.
edit: It might help it you placed an Icon representing the weapon on the map, GM Niles.
GM Niles WotR
Ok. Something needs to change. I went ahead and did the math on this but feel free to double check me.
Since August 15 there have been 160 posts in gameplay.
I was responsible for 55 of them averaging 2.6 posts per day.
Victrix posted 35 times, averaging 1.6 posts per day.
Belle posted 29 times, averaging 1.3 posts per day.
Barundar posted 18 times, averaging .85 posts per day.
Brighton posted 9 times, averaging .42 posts per day.
Konny posted 14 times, averaging .67 posts per day.
Players were responsible for `105/160 posts in 21 days for a 1.0 posts per day average which is exactly my expectation. However that number is a bit skewed when you account for rapid post conversations between either myself and Vic or myself and Belle or those two between each other.
The game is no fun when the majority of the players aren't meeting the minimum posting requirements. I asked for 1 post per day on average. I understand that things come up and life happens, but I have a full time professional job and a family and I manage to set aside some time both during work and at home to make maps, adjust statblocks, read AP material and make posts. I'd like my players to do the same.
I hope this doesn't come across as too preachy or self righteous, but I'm a little frustrated.
Barundar Hammerfist
For what it's worth, I apologize for not meeting your posting requirements for the last few weeks. I'm not going to make any excuses for myself as far as why I've not kept up the way that I needed to. As you've said, it doesn't take a huge time commitment, certainly not the type that it requires of you being the GM. All I can say is that I'm going to try and pick up the pace and I appreciate that you're giving us a fair shot at doing better instead of just calling the game, as that has happened to me in the past.
Belledonna
Phooey. If I use a Mythic Surge to cast Web will it manage to ensnare him, or will the fact that there is nothing else for it to anchor to simply render it null & void?
GM Niles WotR
Yeah... the spell is pretty clear about the anchoring thing. I'm not sure what other spells would be appropriate.
Edit: I found this spell and this one which I think will work for what you are trying to do.
Belledonna
Unfortunately, those are both third level spells for Sorcerers & none of us are sixth level yet. If she had third level spells, Belledonna would have a lot more options.
As it is, I think she'll just toss some Magic Missiles up his butt to encourage him to keep running & call it good.
Konny Hammerhead
I am sorry for the long hiatus, I am back now.
GM: I apologise for the lack of posting, will try harder. I do love this game and would like to see it continue.
Edit: Part (but only part, to be honest) of the problem is my timezone. Usually the speedier game takes place during the night for me.
But that certainly does not preclude me from making one post a day.
Brighton Tongfinger
I am sorry as well, but part of that is also...some characters literally have nothing to contribute at certain points.
In literature there is also a phenomenon where characters won't have anything for chapters.
Then there is also RL (in my case a lingering sickness that's cost me days at work as well).
Long story short, I'll try to post more frequently, but I said at the beginning that weekends are nigh impossible for me. That's not likely to change...I have a family and I am very active in my church.
I will also try to do a better job of letting you know if I feel like my character has nothing to contribute on a specific day.

Hey guys,
Brighton PMed me earlier today that he was going to have to leave the campaign. He sleeps during the day when most of our posts happen and it said it wasn't fair to the other players. So we have a decision to make.
Either we press on and I take over for Brighton GMPCing him. I don't mind doing it.
or
We look for someone to create a mythic cleric/divine caster to replace Brighton. I'm really picky about new players to a campaign so that option might take awhile.
Either way we will press on...to Drezen.
GM Niles WotR
FYI, that encounter was 100% my own. Not in the AP at all. I figured you guys needed another APL+5 encounter to level.
Konny Hammerhead
I am ok either way.
I hope you do not mind me being in such a different time zone.
Belledonna
Hey guys,
Brighton PMed me earlier today that he was going to have to leave the campaign. He sleeps during the day when most of our posts happen and it said it wasn't fair to the other players. So we have a decision to make.

I might have alternatives for either of those options.
I have noticed that I've been going darker with Belledonna than I originally intended, to the point where, while I am still enjoying playing her, mostly, I'm not sure how much fun she is to play with. As it happens I already have a Cleric character idea for WotR who is notably lighter in tone, here. I realize he is only first level & not a cleric, but my intent was for him to level from then on as one. I realize that potentially leaves us open to needing an Arcane Caster, but as Konny is going to be taking levels in Wizard, perhaps he would be interested...My second option was that we are one level away from being eligible for the Leadership feat & I had had in mind for some time now a Druid Acolyte/Minder for Belledonna. I realize Druid is not nearly as effective a 'medic' option as Cleric, but still an option.
In any case...
Belledonna advancement; Sorcerer + 1
Hit Die Option 1: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Hit Die Option 2: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7... Um, this one. I have to say, for all that the RNG seems to mess with me fairly consistently otherwise, it always seems rather benevolent when it comes time for me to roll Hit Points...
+1 BAB
+1 Fort
+1 Reflex
+1 Will
Skill Points:
+1 Intimidate
+1 Knowledge (arcane)
+1 Spellcraft
Spellcasting:
+1 2nd level spell per day
+3 3rd level spells per day
Spells known:
Cantrips: Alarm
3rd level: Dispel Magic
GM Niles WotR
I'm perfectly ok with the Leadership feat if it is done correctly IE there is a logical in-game reason for a cohort.
Konny Hammerhead
Bel, I do like the way the character turned out. She is interesting and I have fun interacting with her. Also Konny will not follow the path of a caster for long. This might be the only level he gets. He will be combat oriented trickster above all.
GM, would it be possible for Konny to have a spellbook since his stay in the library or does he have to obtain one now?
GM Niles WotR
You can just make one now. There aren't any rules for it to my knowledge.
Konny Hammerhead
There are probably none, I just want it to be a bit believable storywise. I will go with having it since the library stay.
GM Niles WotR
Sorry for not posting this before, but I love Belledonna as a character in my game. She is flippin insane, but in a good way. Her alignment might not be the NG you originally intended, she seems to be a more chaotic and neutrally aligned character with a personal vendetta against the Abyss.I'm cool with that, the AP requires that the characters be motivated to fight the demons, not all be LG paladin types {no offense Barundar}.
for now I'll play as Brighton to give you guys divine caster support, and I'll play him like the original player the best I can.
We can recruit later or not at all, if someone takes leadership and gets a cohort with healing powers then I'm tempted to just run everything with 4 and a cohort or two.
GM Niles WotR
Also, I'm waiting to see what you guys do before making a post to move us forward.
Belledonna
So, part of the reason I had Belledonna pick up an Animal Companion was that the Totem Guide Archetype of the Animal Companion allows me to cast certain Divine Spells as if they are among my Spells known as long as my AC is next to me. Nothing game breaking, just Detect Animals or Plants as a first level, Augury as a second level, and Helping Hand as a third level so far. I'll also get Divination once I can cast Fourth level spells.
This leads me to wanting to teach Addit the tricks Heel and Flee as soon as possible. Flee is a new Trick found in the Animal Archive. Both Tricks have their training DC, but I am not finding their training time, unlike the training time for General Purposes. Am I missing something?
Konny Hammerhead
yes, you are :-)
Tricks
The following tricks can be taught to animals by training the animal for a week and making a successful Handle Animal skill check against the listed DC.
Every individual trick takes one week. General Purpose is a set of tricks, so the time is different.
GM Niles WotR
Thanks Konny, having never once in all my years as a tabletop gamer played for any length of time a class with an animal companion, I had no clue. And no, that wasn't sarcasm, I seriously don't play with animal companions. I think I might have tried once in 3.0/5 but I kept forgetting I had it so I gave up.

Barundar Hammerfist wrote:Dinnae tell it to anyone; not e'en other commanders. We dinnae know who we kin trust."Somewhere in the Worldwound Areelu Vorlesh smiles.
Yeahhhhh...
No.One thing Belledonna is not going to allow, is another inquisition.
The point is not to conceal this fear from the other commanders. The point is to make certain none of the other commanders are the spy first...
It frightens me that my brain works squirly this well. I don't believe it says good things about me...
Barundar Hammerfist
Honestly, Belle, she isn't the only one; that is Barundar's logic as well.
To his mind, the only one he feels he can trust in the entire group, outside of the core party, is Irabeth. He thinks it extremely unlikely that her discovering Vhane as a traitor would be some long-distance plot to get another double-agent even deeper into the ranks. As such, she is the only member of the Crusade that he thinks he can really trust with knowledge of the traitor in their midst.
Barundar Hammerfist
Honestly, Barundar isn't even sold on that. Staunton Vhane had the entire crusade convinced that he was a paladin for quite a while when, in reality, he was the complete polar opposite.
