LOL. They are working on a TPK. Six PCs -- two paralyzed, two with negative hp, one dead dead, and one with 2 hp left. Levels 8-10. One NPC with virtually nothing that can harm the BBEG. Three henchmen -- one down to 1 hp in one round from 52hp, one only a 3rd level diviner, and one cut off from the party by a trap.

Things are looking good!

Drained from a permanent necromantic aura around the dead town they were exploring and low on spells from previous battles, they found the extra-dimensional staircase down to the shrine with the BBEG, an Aspect of one of the gods in the campaign. Good times have ensued.

The barbarian henchman with 1 hp left took down the Aspect of the God. If he had missed...it would have been a TPK unless the paralyzed PCs got free.

Only one PC dead dead, the remnants of the party managed to stabilize two others at -6 hp each. They fed the cleric a healing potion and he is burning up the last of his spells converting them to healing.

Now they just need to escape from the middle of (un)dead town.
