Hey GM I just noticed that Sariel is still at the 20 point build that you had us start at, not the 35-point build that would make him a demi-god. Mind if I adjust...
Hey, it was worth a try :-)
:) Maybe if we make it to Mythic!
GM Mason
Oh, I didn't add in any mythic ranks when I adjusted my PC... I wasn't aware that I was supposed to...
*whistles innocently*
Hey you...barbarian dude...
#1 Nice Avatar!
#2 I think you forgot to post in the gameplay thread...

Fergal and Khaz are up and then the bad guys again, since they won initiative and readied.
GM Mason
I'll be on the road tomorrow for most of the day, so I will move us forward tonight if Fergal and Khaz are unable to post today (I know weekends are tougher). I want to keep the momentum going.

Hey GM Mason, to simplify looking at the map could you put it in your profile header or the header at the top of the page?
If you put the address in [url's] in your classes/level bar in your profile it will shop up above your icon.
I don't know how to put it at the top of the page but Jean-Pierre probably does...
Edit:Yeah, sorry GM Mason, I just looked at your alias' page, you probably knew all that. Sorry I mistook you for a newby...Please don't take it out on Sarial, he's a sweet young lad, If a little nearsighted; blame me, it's my fault :-)

I already had it at the top of the page. I'll put in in my profile header as well. Great idea!! Let me know if you don't see it at the top of the page!
***Added. Thanks again!
By the way...If anyone wants a different avatar picture on the map, send me a link. I can change your token. I tried to find everyone's, but failed.
Sariel Patrick Cornelius
Yep, it's at the top of the page, did I miss it earlier?
Uugggghhhh who's looking like the newby now?
I also see it on your profile header...

No problem. I am still learning. I appreciate any advice!!

Khaz, I couldn't figure a way to get you to C13 with 60' of movement without you taking an AOO. Instead, I moved you into a flank with the razorclaw.

A brown spot appears on the seat of the Hobgoblin's trousers as the huge barbarian closes the distance. HAHAHAHA!
GM Mason
Heh. Well, if that pile of wood hadn't been in the way, he would have just been charged ;-)
He knew.
GM Mason
I know it was a basic combat, but how do y'all think it went? OK with the map and everything? Feel free to give advice if you have seen things that make it better!

Fergal: The fox is a story reward if you choose to take him as your animal companion. It is your choice. His stats are in this profile. I'll level him to keep him balanced, but you can choose the feats. He has a 3 intelligence, so he does not require handle animal checks. He understands sylvan, but cannot speak of course. His name is Tolkien's elvish word for fox. You can rename him and use whichever avatar you like for him. Just let me know what you decide.
Fergal MacMorran
The link to the story trumps all for me. I had a wolf (my usual choice for flavor) all statted up, but this is even better. He's fine as-is.
As for tricks, the usual is three per point of intelligence, plus one bonus trick at first level. So that's ten tricks. How do you want to handle training for those? Normally, a first level AC is considered to know their starting tricks as play begins, but since Rusco and I are just meeting, what's your preference? I can make checks to teach him tricks in the evenings, or just provide you with the ten I want or... whatever works. :)
Thanks for this. Working him into the story is extra cool, and the frost fox is not something I'd have looked at.

Loot sheet online link (I hope this works...):

I am reading Ironfang Invasion. If this continues to work out, would you guys want to transition these characters to that after completing this? It would flow very well. If someone wanted to change characters at that point (as long as it fits the group), I would be good with that. We could start it at 2nd level.

Well, that sounds promising...going to download the players guide and read it.
GM Mason
Never played it. I just read the Player's Guide and it sounds like a blast. I'd be all for it.
Your characters already fit well for it.

Nice loot sheet Arun, So how do we want to do marching order and night watch?

Count me in! Thanks for the offer!
Regards the player guide, is that available as a free download? If so can you post the link?

he did...
I am reading Ironfang Invasion.
go to the Ironfang page, it's the third item under products a little further down the page. This is it's page Pathfinders Adventure Path; Ironfang Invasion Players Guide,
Hope that helps ;)

I would certainly be up for that, but I will need to rework the character - he was built assuming that his 'life' would only take him as high as about 5th level (which was what the original GM's proposed series of scenarios would have maxed out at).
That said, I would try to keep the roleplaying flavor of the character the same (restricting us to CORE classes only does help prevent me from being too tempted to do other stuff with him).
GM Mason
I may relook at the core restriction to allow y'all more flexibility, but everyone would have a free rebuild (1x at L2). I hope y'all all fall in love with these guys, but I'd also allow bringing in a new character as well. You guys enjoying your character is most important to me. I just don't want broken builds (synth summoner, Amy alchemy, etc.).
Jean-Pierre de Suis
*Gives the GM an innocent look*
'Broken' is a relative term. Sariel can attest to the fact that I know how to build strong characters ;-)
Just to be clear: I am perfectly happy with the CORE-only classes; removing that restriction will significantly increase the amount of cheese that we have to play with...

Right - all done. Only changes are to add traits and background skills, and re-jig skill ranks as a result. No other alterations. Traits taken are World Traveller (+1 Sense Motive, class skill) and Bruising Intellect (Intimidate uses INT not CHA, and is a class skill). ]
DM: Looking at the practicalities of Arun and his standard spells, I realise that both Daze and Blinding Ray are low range items (30') so are likely to be against foes already in melee. In which case, I'd like to swap his Combat Casting feat for Precise Shot. Are you OK with this (late) change?

Regards core-only: fine by me. I'm more keen on RP and working as a team to tell a great story than maximising a build.
Regards Iron Fang: would we get a campaign trait at the start, or have to give up one of our existing traits? I'll read the player guide tonight. I assume that the party could need more outdoors skills, Fergal notwithstanding.
Before thinking how we adapt these characters for Iron Fang, we need to focus on getting through this quest alive. At level 1, that's not a given...

We will stay core then unless someone really wants to try a class. Thanks for thinking this. APs are already made for 4 characters, so six with a good bit of cheese makes it difficult on the GM.
ARUN: What Suis said.
I will probably double check everyone's characters after L2 rebuild. Since this started so unexpectedly, I really didn't review much (just the backgrounds).

@Arun: Precise Shot has a Prerequisite - 'Point Blank Shot'...
Oh yes that's true. Hmm. Then I'll stay as is; combat casting is a good complement to that short range issue.

I updated the loot sheet. Please remember, selling loot will be at half price unless you barter or have an increased offer due to favor.
GM Mason
The exception to that is, of course, art objects/jewelry/trade goods, which generally sell at full value...?
Yes.
Fergal MacMorran
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Fergal's druidic side is too great a part of who he is, so if I did look at rerolling, the only other class I would choose is maybe Hunter for some extra offense. But if we're going to stay core-only, which I am fine with, Druid it is.
As Arun said, I am more interested in good interplay between us and telling a good story than I am in making some sort of uber-character.
