Unafe listens to Lann's caring words. His twisted appearance had made her suspicious at first, but clearly his heart is as kind as any. She feels a flutter start to rise in her chest.

And then Ehren speaks, and then Hinagiku, and tears well in Unafe's eyes. She grabs their arms, squeezing tightly.

"I...until I met you, I had Old Aye as a teacher, and had the reverence of my people, but now I have friends. And not just any friends, but some of the mightiest and wisest. And," the Demetae clan-liege turns to Hinagiku, "I know that wisdom and friendship can be found further away from the Taranau Valley than I'd ever dreamed even existed."

Speaking softly, she adds. "I know not if the réalta fánaíochta will bring me more disappointment and shame, or if perhaps...perhaps what I stopped letting myself hope for may yet come to pass, and I may truly become worthy to be called Two-Hearted. But I think you've shown me is that whatever it brings, I won't face it alone. You have no idea how precious a gift that is."

Lann embraces Unafe, tears streaming down his face, never the type to try and stoically hide his emotions. From Ehren he knew the weight of her burden, and to see her finally find hope and friendship was a sight to behold.

"You are already worthy, Unafe," Lann says, his voice choked with emotion. "You have shown strength and courage in the face of adversity, and that is what truly makes a leader. And we will always be here for you, through thick and thin."

As Lann embraces Unafe, the emotional moment is interrupted by the sound of high heels clicking against the wooden floor of the inn. Annavinia Narikopolus, the wealthy Chelish woman, strides towards them with an air of superiority, her frizzy red hair bouncing over her shoulders, and a look of disdain on her face. She stops at the table, looking down her nose through a pair of tiny glasses at the group of heroes, her eyes scanning them as if they were mere peasants.

"Yes, yes, very good, good job, everyone. Thank you for doing your jobs and dealing with all that unpleasantness," she announces, her voice dripping with disdain and authority. "I am here to claim what is rightfully mine by Chelish law." she says, her voice cold and haughty, her gaze fixated on the box that Ehren is carrying. "The Covetous Flame, the artifact created by my ancestor, Linneus Narikopolus, is my birthright and I will not be denied it."

She reaches out her hand, her fingers tapping impatiently on the wooden table, her eyes locked on the box. "I have the legal documents to prove it, she says, her voice taking on a more menacing tone. "I suggest you hand it over before things get ugly."

Lann let's Unafe go and looks at Annavinia, his face contorted in disbelief and anger. "We just risked our lives to seal that infernal artifact away for the safety of all, including you, and now you want us to just hand it over to you? You have no right to it, it's dangerous and you're not prepared to handle it."

Annavinia's eyes flash with anger, her voice growing louder. "I have every right to it! It's my family's legacy and I will not be denied it. You have no idea who you're dealing with, I have the resources and the power to make this very unpleasant for all of you."

Lann exchanges glances with Ehren, unsure of how to proceed with this entitled and demanding woman.

Ready to slouch back down into her seat with her mead and another meat haunch, Myrna's spirit twists with frustration with Annavinia's approach and requirements. Grumbling, she turns towards the evil, arrogant Chelish woman.

She interposes herself between the box and Annavinia, a deep frown on her face and her meaty arms crossed with disapproval. "You have some nerve," she says with a glower, "To come at us right now with demands and threats."

"I don't care about any legal documents, Narikopolus. That's an evil artifact that nearly killed us all. You can't have it. And if you bring the ugliness and unpleasantness back here, or anywhere near me, you're going to regret it." She leans forward, straight into the other woman's face, hands on her hips and her teeth bared in a snarl. "Now move."

Li'an smiles at Pele, "A pleasure to meet you, Pele! I was part of that group along with Myrna and the rest of my friends," she says, gesturing towards Ehren, Hinagiku and Unafe. Somehow as she looks over, she feels the absence of Sana, despite her only having been with them for a short while. "Devils have a way of corrupting that which you thought incorruptible, sadly."

Auraelia flutters down, landing on the table near the two of them. "It was good of you to speak up, it was clear we were getting Ngo-where with that grump of a Captain... At least it looks like his drink is finally as sour as he is!" she says in a whisper, and giggling when she looks back towards the Captain. Li'an simply groans at the pun and musses the Azata's hair, which yields a harrumph from the fairy-knight. "I'm Auraelia, pleased to meet you!" the Lyrakien says after smoothing out her hair again.

Li'an's about to ask if Pele cares to join her in questioning Nordvick when Annavinnia begins throwing a tantrum demanding that the artifact be handed over. "Hold that thought," Li'an says, turning back towards the Chelaxian.

She moves towards Annavinnia, gauging her intentions. It was hard to trust the intentions of anyone stupid... or evil... enough to worship devils.

Annavinia sneers at Li'an, "You think you know so much about Chelish law, but you clearly have no understanding of inheritance and property rights. The Covetous Flame is mine by birthright, and I will not be denied it by a group of ignorant adventurers. I suggest you step aside and let me take what is rightfully mine, before things get ugly." Her words are cold and calculated, her tone dripping with disdain and contempt.

Li'an:

Li'an can sense that Annavinia is not someone to be easily swayed by reason or moral arguments. She is determined to get the Covetous Flame, and she is willing to use whatever means necessary to do so. She speaks with the confidence and authority of a trained lawyer, clearly used to getting her way through intimidation and legal technicalities.

Annavinia's expression turns icy as she pulls out a thick legal document from her purse. The writing is tiny, glowing red, and written in Infernal runes. "I have here a writ of inheritance, signed and stamped by the highest legal authorities in Cheliax," she says, her tone becoming more forceful. "It states that the Covetous Flame is my rightful property, as I am Linneus' direct next-of-kin, and that any possession or control of it by anyone else is illegal."

But it is at that moment that Myrna interjects herself into the scene, the fearsome horned woman standing a full foot taller than she. She glowers down at the Chelish woman, her meaty arms crossed with disapproval. Annavinia takes a step back, her haughty demeanor faltering as she looks into Myrna's fierce eyes. "You... you don't understand," she stammers, "That artifact is worth a fortune, and it belongs to me by right of inheritance. I have the legal documents to prove it," she cries out, her voice becoming shrill.

Myrna lets out one humorless bark of laughter, face briefly split in a pitying smile. "No one cares about your proof," she retorts, her voice powerful and her tone certain. "We're taking the Covetous Flame. Not to use it, and not because of how much gold it's worth, but to keep it from hurting anyone else."

Myrna waves a hand dismissively, turning one cheek to show how little she thinks of this tiny, weak-spined, pointless woman.

"Now, if you're going to try something other than empty threats and paperwork from far-off countries, then let's see it. You say you want to make things ugly if we don't step aside? Come on, then. I'm not going anywhere."

Then Myrna maintains eye contact. She doesn't budge, but she watches Annavinia. She doesn't believe this fragile scholar has the guts to truly challenge her, but just in case, she keeps her body taut and ready to move.

Li'an is somewhat disappointed by the fact Annavinia fails to even stop to consider her argument. Seeing Myrna continue to badger the woman, Li'an takes the opportunity to change tack. Clearly the first thing she needed to do was to eliminate the source of the woman's claim.

"One moment, Myrna. We should hear her out. Lets at least see these 'documents' she has." she says, holding one hand out to hold the tiefling Captain back. "After all, Chelish law does carry some weight within the halls back in Nerosyan. May I see them documents? Fret not, I am an expert in dealing with infernal paperwork. If they're what you say they are, there's no reason we can't come to a mutually agreeable conclusion."

Instead of answering right away, Ehren takes another deep draught from his mug, which, by now, is already mostly empty. He allows the scant few droplets of ale at the bottom to slowly trickle into his mouth, taking just long enough to be slightly obnoxious about it. Not that pettiness is his intention; Annavinia’s sheer gall demanded a well-contemplated response. As though to signal to the haughty noble that he has not entirely forgotten about her, Ehren drums his fingertips against the lid of the nullification chest, mirroring her impatient gesture.

When his friends’ thinly veiled threats and appeals to reason all fall on deaf ears, the drumming finally stops, the druid’s hand instead gripping the edge of the chest possessively.

“The answer is no, Annavinia,” Ehren says calmly, looking the woman dead in the eye. “So instead, I will tell you exactly what will become of the Covetous Flame. I will take it far from this place and cast it into the heavenly fires of Forgeheart itself. I will watch those flames purge every last shred of your ancestor’s vile magic from your birthright. And should what’s left remain disagreeable, I will let it burn for even longer until all that remains is an inert lump of molten silver. Perhaps then I will deem it in suitable enough shape to return it to its rightful owner.” The druid’s eyes narrow ever so slightly. “But then again, probably not.”

Annavinia turns her attention to Li'an, her disdainful expression returning as she speaks in a snooty tone, "You may be an expert in dealing with infernal paperwork, but that does not mean you understand the intricacies of Chelish inheritance law. The Covetous Flame is mine, and I will not hand over my legal documents to a group of ignorant adventurers who clearly have no understanding of the matter at hand."

Annavinia's eyes then flash with anger as she glares at Ehren, her lip curling in a sneer. "You think you can just take something that belongs to me and destroy it? I have the law on my side, and I will not hesitate to sue you and your entire group for everything you are worth," she spits out, her voice filled with venom.

Myrna sighs. The stupid whiny lawyer hadn't even risen to the challenge. She had just continued shouting the same old stuff about filing paperwork and her legal birthright and how stupid and unqualified all of them were. Myrna was tired of it before the first statement, but by this point her patience had run past its end.

"Whatever you say, Narikopolus," she says, and as she does she bullishly pushes Annavinia towards the exit. She advances inexorably, forcing the woman to step back or ram into Myrna's chest. "You want to go home and file paperwork? Go ahead. The door's right there."

She throws open the door to the inn and gestures into the dark night. "Get out of here. Go home," she growls.

Li'an laughs at the woman's braggadocio. Given her complete certainty that the law will get her what she wants, the only thing left to do was to leave her to the administrative nightmare that would be filing for ownership of the covetous flame. Which would likely take long enough for them to put it through the Purity Forge and make sure it never gets used for evil again.

Needing every edge to badger the woman into submission legally for the time being, she takes a moment to bestow insight upon herself to sharpen her knowledge of the law.

"Given this artifact is likely central in a string of murders dating back to before the First Crusade, it's an essential part of our investigation. We can, of course, arrange for you to take possession. We'll just need the appropriate paperwork filled out... You'll need to go through the chain of command, of course, so you'll need to start in Nerosyan. They're quite busy there, but given the importance of your request, I'm sure they'll be able to expedite your request and have it handled within... oh... the next month or so. At which point you can bring the appropriate paperwork with you to Drezen to claim your heirloom." She ends with as fake a smile as she can manage, gesturing to Myrna over by the open door. "Or you can skip the legal avenue and attempt to take it by force, which I'm certain Captain Riversoar would just absolutely LOVE. I know I personally never tire of incinerating devils and their followers, and I've only vaporized that imp twice today, so I certainly wouldn't mind another opportunity to go at it. Annavinia responds, "You can't be serious! This is my family's property, and you're just going to keep it locked away for who knows how long? I won't stand for this! She glares at Li'an and Myrna, opening her mouth and getting ready to unleash another aggrieved tirade, but Myrna starts moving towards her.

Annavinia's face contorts with anger and frustration as Myrna advances towards her. She tries to stand her ground at first, but as Myrna's sheer physical presence becomes overwhelming, she is forced to step back. Then another. And then another. She tries to speak, to protest, but her words are cut off as Myrna throws open the door and gestures for her to leave. Annavinia's eyes flash with anger, but she knows she is outnumbered and outmatched. With a final, bitter scowl directed at Myrna, she turns on her heel and stalks out of the inn. "You will hear from my lawyer!" she shrieks, pointing an accusatory finger at the heroes just as the door slams closed in her face.

Lann watches Annavinia storm out of the inn with an amazed expression, as if he couldn't believe someone could be so arrogant. Once she is gone, he turns to the others with a smirk. "Well, that was certainly entertaining. I think we can all agree that Narikopolus is a true gem of a person." He chuckles and shakes his head.

Myrna claps her hands together, washing her hands of the irritating woman, a satisfied smile on her face. "What a sad, irritating, weak, empty girl," she says, her tone both sad and condescending. Drawing her magic drinking-horn from her belt, she takes a long draught, wiping her lips and sighing with satisfaction.

"Well, that was a satisfying end to our day."

She looks around the room, patting her belly. Now that she really thinks of it, she's pretty full. And tired. "I think it's getting to the time for me to rest. "Toothless," Ehren agrees once the haughty noble has made her exit, his placid expression becoming one of amusement. As he suspected, she was harmless, her threats of condemning them to poverty aside. If she were an actual danger to them, she would not have been so insufferably useless during the day's tribulations. He shakes his head. "I think I pity her. Her birthright is protected by ink scrawls on paper. It might as well be carved onto a limestone slab and thrown into a river."

"I will, Captain. Thank you," Ehren says to Myrna when she mentions going to bed. With a smile, he adds, "We will see you in the morning - you are our ride, remember."

After she has left, he turns back to Hinagiku and Unafe. "I should also turn in for the evening. Unafe, can I trouble you to keep this hidden in your dreams?"

The archdruid pushes the nullification chest over to her. He recalls their expedition to Iobaria, where they retrieved the darkwood statue of Dolok Darkscale. The Demetae clan-liege had lamented being unable to fit the figure in her dreamspace, which would have made their return to Drezen much easier. Instead, he was left with little choice but to airlift it, making for the most arduous of his heron adventures.

Li'an sighs as everyone decides the mouthy Chelaxian lawyer's departure is a fantastic point to go to bed--not that this wasn't a common occurrence given she didn't sleep. She basically had an extra eight hours a day to do things, and most of the time they were far more boring than the remaining sixteen.

"You all really need to learn to stop sleeping, it's a bad habit!" she chides her friends jokingly. "Well while you all go sleep I will attempt to find out more about what happened to Selik," she says, heading back to join Auraelia and Pele.

"Pele, care to join me in questioning Nordvick? I wouldn't mind some company," she says giving the woman a smile. Before Arie can protest, she adds "Yes, I know you're good company too Arie!"

"Daisy, are you going to bed as well? Or do you want to come down to visit Nordvick?" she asks the monk, realizing she might also not be headed to sleep immediately.

Rephrase the following: ”Good night Ehren-kun.” Hinagiku says to her fiance, her sole display of affection being a slightly wider smile than usual.

”I will accompany you Li’an. Let me just grab some food and water and covers for them.” Hinagiku says, before following her words with actions.

Once most people have gone to bed, Hinagiku goes outside to see whether Annavinia needed to be let back into her room; she could not have her sleep outside, not with the stories of demonic vermin. Although, if they were all the size of the giant scorpions they had met, perhaps there was no need to worry. Once she finally spots her in a carriage, Hinagiku instead opts to return her belongings to the chelaxian. Going back inside the inn, where she gathers some food and all the cheliaxan’s personal belongings, before returning to the carriage.
”Hello Mrs. Narikopolus.” Hinagiku begins, making efforts to pronounce the woman’s name as she had told them to. ”I am sorry if I have invaded your privacy, but I wanted to make sure you did not want for anything. Here is some food and your belongings. I am sorry you had such and exhausting day.” having said that, Hinagiku leaves to attend to her meditations inside the inn.

"Absolutely, I'd be glad to assist with questioning Nordvick," Pele says with a friendly smile. "Two sets of eyes and ears are better than one, don't you think?" she adds in a cheerful tone. Rising from her seat, Pele approaches her captain, Captain Ngo, and respectfully informs him of her intentions. "Captain, I'll be joining Auraelia in questioning Nordvick. I'll make sure to report back to you with any information we gather," she says with a bow of her head.

Captain Ngo nods in agreement, his scowl barely shifting. Still staring into his glass, he waves his hand dismissively, "Just don't take too long, you'll be up with the birds tomorrow, so make sure you get some shut-eye."

Pele catches up to them just as Hinagiku announces her plan to gather supplies. The Sarenrite eagerly volunteers to help. "Please, let me help. I'll gather some essentials and meet you all in the basement," Pele says with a smile.

Pele and Hinagiku set out of the common room, quickly gathering up some waterskins and helping to procure some extra pillows and sheets. They regroup with Li'an and Auraelia, Pele's arms full of supplies. "There we go, all set up. Now let's get some answers, yeah?" Pele says.

Hinagiku, Li'an:

As they make their way to the basement, Pele greets the two Crusaders guarding the trap-door. "Good evening, we're here to question Nordvick. Captain Ngo has given us permission," Pele says with a confident tone. The Crusaders, recognizing Pele, nod and step aside, allowing them to pass.

The basement is dimly lit, and the air is thick with the smell of damp earth. Dehliana is bound and gagged, and Nordvick is only bound. Dehliana's eyes blaze with anger as she recognizes the heroes, but her words are muffled by the gag. Pele gets to setting up a bed on the ground in the corner furthest from where they dug up the bodies earlier, making sure that the prisoner is as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. She keeps herself busy and lets Li'an and Hinagiku take the lead in questioning Nordvick.

While Li'an and Hinagiku interrogate Nordvick, Pele turns to Auraelia, the Lyrakien, and speaks in whispered Celestial, "كما تعلم ، لقد قابلت نصيبي العادل من الصليبيين ، لكنني أعتقد أنك ربما تكون أصغر واحد حتى الآن! وثق بي ، هذا يقول شيئًا"

Unafe:

Alone with Sicrwydd within the safety of her Dreamspace, Unafe asks her ancestors for advice, communing with her spirit familiar. As Unafe calls out to her ancestors, a swirl of ghostly spirits appears before her, some of which are ancient saurians, the sacred companions of her people. The spirits move in a hypnotic dance, their ethereal forms shifting and changing as they speak in Hallit:

Gwyliwch lle dim aer, dibyn oerfel diddiwedd,
Lle nad oes ond lludw a llwch ar ôl i'w gweld,
Man lle mae tân a rhew yn cydgyfarfod,

Beware the place of no air, the abyss of endless cold,
Where only ash and dust remain to behold,
A place where fire and ice converge,
Prepare yourself for the test that will emerge.

Hinagiku:

Annavinia's eyes narrow as Hinagiku approaches the carriage, her voice dripping with disdain. "You think bringing me a bit of food and my belongings makes amends for the way you and your companions treated me today? I should have you all thrown in prison for your insolence. And it's pronounced Narik-o-polus, not Narikopolus. It's obvious you have no respect for me or my station," she huffs.

Annavinia's anger suddenly boils over, her voice rising in fury. "The Covetous Flame is mine! It belongs to my family, and I will not be denied it by a bunch of commoners. You have no right to stand in my way. I will have it, no matter the cost."

As Li'an enters the basement, she begins to glow with a divine light, seemingly chasing every last shadow from the room. Li'an shakes her head as she passes Delihana, wondering whether she realized she was lucky to be alive. The magic leaving her had left her intact despite having been dealt mortal wounds while under the candelabra's effects.

She turns her attention instead to Nordvick, who actually had useful information, and while he had committed grievous crimes, it was hard not to feel a bit of pity for him given the power of the artifact he'd been unintentionally dealing with. It's likely most mortals would have been corrupted by it eventually.

"Nordvick, I wanted to have a word with you about Selik. What do you know about his arrival and disappearance?"

Meanwhile Auraelia floats alongside Pele, leaning in to whisper back to her. "سماويتك جيدة! * سأكون صليبيًا جيدًا ، على الرغم من مكاني!" she says, puffing up with pride. "ولكن تم إرسالي إلى هنا من قبل البكر المتلألئ لأكون نجم الشمال ليان. وظيفتي هي توجيه الأبطال إلى سقوط بولاريس للمساعدة في الدفاع عنها." The little azata crosses her arms and huffs exaggeratedly "حتى أنها في بعض الأيام تستمع إلي! يمكن أن يكون Brijidines مندفعًا جدًا ..."

"I serve the Shimmering Maiden, however... I was sent here by her to serve as Li'an's north star, and eventually to guide her to Pulura's Falls to aid in its defense."

"Some days she even listens to me! Brijidines can be so impulsive..."

“Old habits are hard to break,” Ehren replies to Li’an wryly. He sometimes forgot that the elf no longer devoted herself to the Tender of Dreams, but given how short a time he knew her before her first death, perhaps she never considered herself a true Desnan at all. Glancing at Hinagiku, he smiles and adds, “It’s a work in progress.”

Indeed, the archdruid is still bound to the same natural sleep cycle as most humans. In the past, he criticized Ary for using magic to avoid sleeping for days and working almost nonstop. Lately, however, he has found himself wishing he could do the same, to steal more time. More time that he could afford to be selfishly spent with his beloved. For now, she has those sleepless hours all to herself. "Good night, Kiku."

Ehren retires to the room he rented when they first arrived – hopefully one that did not have a desiccated corpse stuffed under the bed. Given privacy, he lies down and reflects on the day’s events: their new ally, who boasted both a strong Kellid heritage and considerable clout in the Crusades; the mysterious stranger from the future of an alternate past, who vanished as quickly as she stepped into their lives; their latest acquisition, the insidious artifact that has the power to warp reality itself; and of course, their young halfling friend, whose devotion appears to have been rewarded.

I may not be a devotee, but I have offered prayers to many gods and have even received their blessings. But I have never prayed to a friend before, Ehren thinks with a chuckle, his eyes closed. Within a few minutes, he starts to drift off to sleep. So, can you hear me, Ary? I hope so, because I need you to know that we will be all right.

Ehren:

As Ehren drifts off to sleep, a gentle breeze wafts through the room, rustling the curtains and causing the candle flame on the table to flicker. He can hear a faint, melodic whisper on the wind, as if someone is singing softly to him. The words are in a language he doesn't understand, but the sentiment is clear; it's a soothing, comforting lullaby.

As the breeze continues to whisper to him, Ehren feels a sense of peace wash over him. It's as if his mind and body are being cradled in a warm embrace, and all his worries and fears are being gently brushed away. He can sense the presence of someone familiar, someone he cares for deeply, even though she is not physically there with him.

As the night goes on, Ehren sleeps soundly and deeply, and in his dreams, he finds himself in a lush, verdant forest. In Ehren's dream, he stands in a circle of ancient menhir stones, surrounded by the ancient forests of his homeland. The stones are ancient, some half-destroyed by time and weather, others covered in a thick blanket of moss. The sun is shining down on him, casting dappled shadows through the trees. The air is filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers and the distant sound of a babbling brook. It's a vision of the way Sarkoris was before it fell to the Wound, a reminder of the beauty and peace that once existed there.

As he takes in the serene scene, Ehren feels a subtle sense of reassurance wash over him. It's as if someone, or something, is telling him that everything will be all right. The feeling is comforting and, for a moment, he forgets about all the troubles and worries that have been weighing on his mind. He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, feeling a sense of contentment and peace that he hasn't felt in a long time.

Li'an, Hinagiku:

Meanwhile, Pele glows with pride at Auraelia's compliment. "نجاح باهر شكرا لك! انا سعيد بأنك تظن كذلك،," she says, a smile on her face. "ما زلت أتعلم المحادثة السماوية - أنا أفضل في القراءة من التحدث - لذلك من الجيد أن أسمع أنني بخير." Pele nods in agreement with Auraelia's comment on Li'an's impulsiveness. "وأنا أفهم تمامًا من أين أتيت ، قد يكون من الصعب توجيه شخص متهور جدًا! إنها تبدو تمامًا مثل ابني ..." Pele trails off wistfully, her mind drifting to memories of her son. She takes a deep breath and focuses her attention back on the interrogation between Li'an, Hinagiku, and Nordvick.

" "And I totally understand where you're coming from, it can be tough to guide someone who's so impulsive! She sounds just like my son..."

As Li'an brings up the subject of Selik Agthoven, Nordvick visibly recoils, his body rocking back and forth on the basement floor. He looks visibly shaken, beads of sweat appearing on his forehead. He avoids Li'an's gaze, instead focusing on the ground as he speaks, his voice trembling with remorse.

"I-I'm sorry, I-I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Selik Agthoven, h-he was my last victim. I-I killed him at Zirzip's behest," Nordvick admits, his voice heavy with guilt. "He refused to try and use the Covetous Flame, and Zirzip instructed me to slit his throat. His body is still in my office, beneath the floorboards, as I hadn't had a chance to bury him yet. I-I'm so sorry for everything I've done."

As Nordvick confesses, Pele listens intently, her eyes wide with shock and sadness. She can't believe the atrocities that Nordvick had committed, and the thought of Selik's body still lying in his office sends a shiver down her spine.

Li'an's eyes briefly flare up briefly as she thinks about the damage wrought by the devils and Narikopolous's accursed artifact. She briefly entertains the thought of simply burning the entire tainted building to the ground in one go, but decides against it and calms herself down.

"You'll be lucky if they allow you to join the condemned, Nordvick. If given the chance, I hope you will work to make restitution for what you have done here." After a moment, she adds "Thank you for sharing the truth."

She turns to go, but turns briefly to look at the dwarf once more briefly. "Lets go get Selik's body," she says to Arie and Pele, before drifting up the stairs slowly, her mood substantially worse than before she'd headed down.

Auraelia for her part quieted down when Nordvick confessed to yet another murder. Bound as she was to Li'an, she felt the mixture of rage and sadness she was experiencing rather intimately. She flies up and gives Li'an a quick hug, then falls back to fly alongside Pele as they head to the office.

Once there, Li'an moves about the room, tapping with her foot, listening for an area that is clearly hollowed out beneath the floorboards. Once she finds it, she motions for Pele to come help her remove the floorboards to get at Selik's body. Anevia would be saddened to hear Selik had been murdered. Of all the ways to go, murdered by a greedy innkeeper making deals with devils? Not exactly how one would expect to die in the Worldwound, that was for sure.

After they retrieve the remains and get them taken care of, Li'an offers to buy Pele a drink for the help. She spends the rest of the evening relaxing, and once things die down and Pele heads off to sleep she returns with Arie to her own space, pulling out the book that she'd borrowed from the Lieutenant to pass the time until everyone was awake again.

Hinagiku is quick to lay a calming hand on Li’an shoulder when she sees angry tension take over her body language. Yet, it is too late to stop her harsh words toward the prisoner. After that, Hinagiku kneels by Nordvick side and while Li’an, Pele and Arie leave in search of Selik’s body, Hinagiku helps Nordvick to some food and water.
”Sorry Mr. Nordvick, but I have to ask you some more questions about what happened here. I know this is difficult for you, but it is important for us to know one more thing. We were sent here to find out information about demonic vermin. Mr. Selik was meant to tell us about what he had found. Would you know anything about that, did he mention anything? Or… well… since many people disappeared here, because of the imp, is it possible that this is where the rumors of demonic vermin came from?”

Once she is done helping out Nordvick, Hinagiku ungags Dehliana to feed her food and water. She also tries to speak kindly to her expecting little in return but hoping against all hope that she might appease her. Once she is done, Hinagiku places the gag back and stays in the basement to speak with Nordvick for as long as the innkeeper wishes to talk and until he finds some rest (or she needs her own rest). Afterward, Hinagiku goes in search of Ehren’s room where she sleeps and meditates for the reminder of the night.

Li’an and Hinagiku:

Nordvick looks at Hinagiku with a mix of shame and exhaustion on his face. ”I'm sorry, I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Zirzip had saved my life because I was too cowardly to die with the rest of my troop as I should have. I never expected it to go this far. I never thought so many people would die because of my cowardice.”

He takes a sip of the water he brought her and continues. “Yes, there have been more demonic vermin attacks at the fort and its surroundings. But I was also using that as a scapegoat to cover up my crimes and make others think that the reason so many people were disappearing was due to the normal dangers of the Worldwound. I'm sorry, I know that's not an excuse, but I hope you can understand that I didn't mean for any of this to happen."

He pauses for a moment, looking down at his shackled hands. ”I know I can never make up for what I've done, but if there's anything I can do to help, I'll do it. I'll tell you everything I know about what has happened and I'll help you find what remains of the other victims.”

Hinagiku then goes to check on Dehliana, making sure she is comfortable and has enough food and water. Dehliana sneers at Hinagiku's kindness, seeing it as a weakness. She sees no reason to be grateful to the one who had foiled her plans and caused her downfall. She remains silent, refusing to speak or even acknowledge Hinagiku's presence and does not accept a drop of water or a morsel of food. Her thoughts are consumed with thoughts of revenge and how to regain the power that she had lost.

Li’an:

As they remove the floorboards, Auraelia can't help but feel a sense of sadness and disgust at the sight of Selik's lifeless body. She had gotten to know Selik during the time she, Li’an, and Anevia were working together to patrol the surroundings of Drezen, and though they weren't close, she had come to consider him a friend. She couldn't believe that he had been taken from them in such a senseless way, all because of one dwarf’s foolishness.

Once Selik's body is taken care of, Li'an offers to buy Pele a drink in gratitude for her help. They find a quiet corner in the tavern and sit down to talk. Pele tells Li'an about her life and how she came to be in the Worldwound, having come from the faraway island of Vaiala, and Li'an listens attentively, grateful for the distraction from her own thoughts.

As the night wears on, Pele finds herself growing more and more tired. She thanks Li’an for her company and the elf makes her way back to her own space, Arie following just behind. She falls into bed, her magical stores depleted and her mind emotionally drained, but with a sense of satisfaction that they had been able to bring some closure to Selik's death.

Li’an decides to spend some time studying the book she had borrowed from the Lieutenant. She devours the pages, finishing it just before the sun rises.

Li’an, Beatrix:

The book Li'an reads is called A Bed of Shadows. It is the third in a series about a dimension-traveling vampire named Eleanor. Eleanor is a powerful and alluring vampire who has lived for thousands of years, traveling through the multiverse in search of love and adventure.

As she travels through the different dimensions, Eleanor finds herself drawn to the hottest and most powerful beings in each world. She has had countless love affairs, but she always leaves her partners behind as she moves on to the next dimension.

In "A Bed of Shadows," Eleanor finds herself in a dark and dangerous dimension ruled by a tyrannical vampire king. As she begins to uncover the truth about the king and his reign, Eleanor finds herself falling for a charismatic and powerful rebel leader who is fighting against the king's oppression.

As she gets deeper into the rebellion and the politics of the dimension, Eleanor must navigate treacherous alliances and betrayals, all while trying to keep her own identity and power a secret from those who would use her for their own gain.

As always, Eleanor uses her charm, wit, and vampire powers to outsmart her enemies and protect those she cares about. But as the stakes get higher and the danger grows, Eleanor must confront her own demons and decide where her loyalties truly lie.

The book is filled with action, romance, political intrigue and is a page-turner with a lot of suspense, it's also a story of self-discovery, as Eleanor is forced to confront her own past and the weight of her actions through the centuries.

The next day, the heroes all regrouped at the inn to prepare for their journey to Drezen. They were determined to see justice served for the innocent lives that had been lost and the crimes that had been committed at Devil's Rest. As they set out early in the morning, the air was still crisp with the remnants of night and the sky was painted in hues of green and navy blue, signaling the dawn of a new day.

As they made their way towards Drezen, they came across a pack of tiny flying hala demons, but with their combined strength and skill, the heroes were able to defeat them with ease. The battle was over quickly and the heroes continued on their journey, the adrenaline from the fight still coursing through their veins.

When they arrived at the gates of the citadel of Drezen, they were greeted by the southern gate guards. After a quick exchange of pleasantries, and a routine scan for possible demonic possession, the heroes were ushered into an audience with Lord Commander Irabeth where they recounted the events that had occurred at Devil's Rest.

The heroes described the details of their battle with Dehliana and the Covetous Flame, and the role that Nordvick had played in the events that had transpired. Irabeth listened intently, nodding in understanding as they spoke.

“I cannot express enough gratitude for your help in settling this matter," said Irabeth, as she listened to their account. “Your actions have helped to determine the true cause of the missing people at the fort, and have prevented Dehliana from ascending into a …monstrous goddess….devil?” she glances at her wife, Anevia, wanting to make sure she got that right, who just shrugs in response.

“Dehliana and Nordvick will be secured in the dungeons at Drezen, and the Covetous Flame will be placed into safekeeping within the citadel," she said, once the heroes had finished their account. “You have all done a great service for the Crusades, and you deserve a well-earned rest. Crusaders Li’an and Lann, stand by and await your next assignment. As for our kellid friends and family, Ehren, Hinagiku, and Unafe, again, thank you for your assistance, as always."

With that, the heroes were dismissed, and they were able to enjoy a much-needed rest after their successful mission. A few days after, as Myrna and Beatrix were preparing to leave for Nerosyan, they received the following missive :

Myrna and Beatrix:

Captain Myrna Riversoar, Lieutenant Beatrix,

Greetings,

I, Commanding Officer Chrisanthi Gianakou, am writing to commend both of you on a mission well executed. Your swift action in detaining the dangerous cultist of Razmir, Dehliana, and your aid in securing the Covetous Flame has been nothing short of exemplary. Your bravery and dedication to the cause of protecting the people of Mendev is an inspiration to all of us.

As a result of your outstanding service, I am pleased to inform you that you have been reassigned to the front lines at Drezen, where you will report directly to Lord Commander Irabeth. This is a testament to the high regard in which you are held by our superiors, and it is my hope that you will continue to serve with distinction.

Furthermore, I am pleased to inform you that you will be receiving a raise in your wages, personal quarters within Drezen and medals of honor for your service. Your team, the Hellfire Squadron, will also be relocated to Drezen in the coming weeks.

We are honored to have you among our ranks, and I look forward to the great things you will accomplish in the service of our cause.

Sincerely,
Commanding Officer Chrisanthi Gianakou

It is just before noon, on a cold, cloudless day at Drezen.

Today is the day that the scholars at the predict that Apostae’s Tear will pass by Golarion, visible at some point in the next hour or so. I would I would like everyone to post what their PCs have been up to the past 7 days in Drezen. I want Unafe to post in the present first, clarifying where she is and what she plans to do at this moment in time. Then the other PCs may check in and clarify what they are doing at this moment in time - whether they’ve chosen to spend the day with Unafe in support, or if they are pledged to other duties and activities at this time.

Prepared spellcasters and martials - please let me know once your spells and maneuvers are prepared (I think just Myrna and Beatrix?) You can assume Unafe shared her divination with the group.

The hala demons attacked while Ehren was detailing his proposition to Myrna: for his friends and himself to lend their strength to the Hellfire Squadron. The interruption did nothing to faze the inexplicably good mood he was in. What followed was an exceedingly brief battle that barely qualified as a warmup. Ehren’s contribution was a summoned swarm of screeching eagles that tore a few of the flying demons into ribbons.

Afterward, the archdruid explained the circumstances behind how the unstoppable team he and Hinagiku were part of – the one Myrna had heard all those stories about – had all but fallen apart. They had lost some very powerful friends, leaving them woefully unprepared for the challenges ahead. But, with her help, perhaps they could change that.
After arriving in Drezen and making their report to the Lord Commander, Ehren suggested an alternative to simply sealing away the Covetous Flame.

“I do not know if it would work – we have never attempted to use the Forge’s magic on something so powerful – but perhaps Joran can turn it into a force for good. Or perhaps the Forge will just destroy the wicked thing outright. Either outcome would serve us just as well.”

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33 Surging if necessary lol.

A few days later, when Irabeth was available to speak in private, he made a more personal request: for permission to visit Nurah Dendiwhar. The druid had not seen Nurah since her trial and had not spoken to her since her betrayal prior to the Siege of Drezen. It was not as though he was ever that close to the halfling, or the person she pretended to be, but for whatever reason, that betrayal cut deep. For quite some time, he was content knowing that she might never again see the light of day. Now, though… Ary was gone, and Hinagiku was always nudging him to take a gentler path. Perhaps she would appreciate having someone else to alleviate her boredom.

With Dehliana safely in jail, and her work and squadron all the way back in Nerosyan, Myrna decides to take it easy for a few days around Drezen. Before she receives her missive granting her a raise and personal quarters, Myrna stays in a group barracks with the other common soldiers. While staying with them, she refuses to pull rank, and in general stays out of local current business -- only stepping in to use her authority when she can be of use mediating disputes between soldiers.

She spends her time at the level of rest that makes her feel comfortable. Myrna does not feel completely at ease when completely at ease. Instead, she busies herself with a variety of minor tasks and chores. In the morning, she hangs around the military barracks area and tries to get to know any local Kellid or tiefling soldiers, and she introduces herself to the local captains as well. She wants to gauge the authority figures to see what the situation was like here for her people. She had heard that Drezen was a beacon of opportunity and equity, but that didn't always reach the lowest rungs.

In the afternoons, she heads to the training yards to spend a few hours sparring with people who need practice. She avoids the use of her magic or her giant form, preferring to focus on inspiring high levels of effort from her opponents. She participates in all sorts of games centered around combat training, varying groups in battles and trying to form camaraderie between members of different squads.

In the evenings, she heads to the Demetae village. She feels at home in the independent Kellid village, and makes herself known around the locals as a person they can turn to if they need anything. She can put up houses from materials with her drums, carry injured packbeasts to somewhere they can be medically treated, calm down stressed residents, and she isn't above helping in humbler ways, sometimes offering to cook pots of soup or entertain children with her song while the adults have work.

She shakes up her daily routine with a few visits to Citadel Drezen. One afternoon, instead of training, she spends her time exploring the hallways. She pokes her head into every unlocked room (and knocks on a few of the locked ones just to see what might be inside), introduces herself in jolly fashion to anyone who tries to get in her way, and generally learns the layout of the castle. She takes the time to introduce herself to Irabeth and Anevia, and she marvels at the unoccupied wizard's tower.

Myrna is happy but unsurprised when she receives her promotion and reassignment. Her fate was written in the stars. She was always going to play an important part in this war, and right now the important place to be was in Drezen. It was only right that she should be here in her official capacity as well. She moves into her small captain's cottage and immediately offers to host a small get-together with everyone she's met so far. She offers mead, meat, and song, and suggests that everyone who attends bring a suitable party-time offering.

On the road back to Drezen, Unafe begins to absentmindedly sing a child’s song that she learned from her older siblings, before she was found to be Two-Hearted and taken from her family to live with Old Aye. When someone comments on it, she smiles. ”I hadn’t even noticed I was singing that. I’m not sure I’ve sung it since before my first moon, but…I suppose I’m feeling a bit hopeful.”

She goes on to share that the Sacred Ancestors answered her prayers in her dreams last night, and to relate the following:

Beware the place of no air, the abyss of endless cold,
Where only ash and dust remain to behold,
A place where fire and ice converge,
Prepare yourself for the test that will emerge.

”I know not what it means, but I will surely relate it to Valais when we are back. Ehren, Li’an, Myrna, does this mean anything to any of you?”

- - -

That hopefulness doesn’t entirely last–waves of panic and despair continue to come–but she keeps reminding herself: Dolok felt a connection to Goryon within me, and said Goryon claimed ‘We will speak again in the morning, when you witness the comet streak through the sunlit sky.’ That comet will be here this week, if Valais is correct. The Ancestors found me worthy to my prayers at the Inn, and warned me, in their way. And I have friends now. Not just a mentor, not just reverent admirers; friends. …and she finds that the waves of despair pass a bit quicker than before.

Once back Unafe visits Valais to pass on her latest dream, and to ask if the Venture Captain has learned anything else. She also goes to Mama Calongoed, and prays for a blessing in her coming days. Other than that, she spends almost all of her time in the Demetae encampment on the outskirts of Drezen. She checks in with the warriors on the drills that she has given them. She meets with Nelket and the elders of the tribe to discuss how the tribe is faring.

Unafe calls the Demetae together around a fire each night she is home, to share their meal together and to teach the sacred songs and stories that she knows, as best she can…but Unafe also realizes that there are too many that she doesn’t recall. Her all-too-familiar discouragement begins to press on her chest, when she sees Myrna walk up to the fire. Clasping Myrna's arm, she hollers, ”Sister!”

Turning back to the Demetae, she says, ”I have taught you the songs and stories that I know. We will continue to sing them, that we may honor our Sacred Ancestors, and to tell the tales so we can be ready to live in harmony with the great saurians, should I succeed and they return…but I do not recall all the songs I wish I did. Some are lost with Old Aye. But I think we need not fear that loss, for others can be gained. I’ve never met a warrior-skald whose songs could please the ancestors any better than Myrna here.

“Myrna, will you teach your songs to the Demetae as well? And if you care to learn the great songs of the Demetae, ”

I may be able to get to Today later tonight, but posting this much for now.

The time at the outpost had been a grim one, but good had come out of it nonetheless. For one, Ehren and her had had the chance to see Fenton just before his deployment. And so, before leaving the inn, Hinagiku had given him a few wise words to keep in mind when things would get though, namely never to forget Ary’s strength.

The trip had brought a second chance meeting, one that seemed to promise much for Ehren, Unafe and Hinagiku. She was at first surprised to hear that Ehren was prepared the help the Hellfire squad since it was located all the way in Nerosyan worked in a defensive capacity. But, she reasoned that fostering long term relationship was the first step in adding Myrna to their force. And so, the monk had also offered her aid whenever the hellfire squad would need it. Yet, in the coming week, Hinagiku was the change her offer upon learning of Myrna’s reassignment; she took a commitment one step further, deciding to shift her time at the front to be exclusively with the Hellfire squad. She would still only be a volunteer, going when she could, but no longer would she just tag along whichever squadron happened to go to the front.

The walk back to Drezen brought another surprise, Unafe singing followed by the revelation of her dream. Hinagiku had quickly noticed the song, commenting on how soothing it was. But had as quickly fallen into silence, unable to decipher what the rhymes could mean.

Once back in Drezen, Hinagiku had first informed Irabeth that she would be glad to be a witness when Nordvick’s trial would take place, if only to corroborate his guilt. But, also, to encourage the commander to find someone to look into Hellish law to figure out whether the innkeeper’s soul was indeed bound for hell or whether there might be a way to save him. In discussing this, Hinagiku did her best to gently impress upon Irabeth that redemption without any hope was unlikely.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (8) + 21 = 29

On that day, seeing that Myrna was planning on visiting the city, Hinagiku invites her to visit Irori’s temple as well as Sosiel’s church. On the way, the monk broaches a subject she was quite curious about, Myrna’s faith.
”Mrs. Myrna, I wonder, do you have a faith? I… humm… from what I have seen, in battle, your words seem to have the strongest effect on others, making them much more aggressive. And so I wonder, how do you do so? Do you choose to? Or is it something that is inspired to you by belief or faith? ”

Need sleep, but more to come tomorrow

Myrna speaks in favor of Nordvick, though she explains that as a soldier or even a battlefield feature, he was unreliable. She doesn't believe the dwarf has an evil heart, just that he was dull and weak and fell prey to a seasoned trickster. She recommends that he be exiled from Mendev for his crimes, and branded as a fool.

With the Demetae, Myrna is freely sharing of everything she knows. To Unafe she says, "Sister, you and your people seem strange to me, but we are all Kellid, so of course I will share in your songs. I would be honored to keep your peoples' knowledge as well." In celebration with the Demetae, Myrna weaves all she knows into delightful tales, often about the wiles of a Kellid as she defeats demons with her strength and persistence.

Upon visiting the city's temples, Myrna acts curious and puzzled about the workings of the Irori temple. At the interdenominational church Myrna pays respects at the shrine of Shelyn, but when Hinagiku asks her about her faith, she explains that she follows local folk religion. "Our people believe in a looser boundary between the mortal and the divine. We honor what we see as powerful spirits when the right time comes, but no god is more powerful or more important to us than the Green."

"I'm no druid, though. I learned magic from my grandmothers -- who are powerful, fierce witches. Song and axe I learned from my mother. Surely you have met a skald? Sadly, the tradition is weakening."

Ehren

Lord-Commander Irabeth had a gentle smile on her face as she granted Ehren's request to keep the Covetous Flame. "Of course, Ehren," she said. At this point she had grown fully into her new role as Lord-Commander, and she tended to sound authoritative when she spoke, no matter what the circumstance. But when she spoke with the Archdruid, she treated him as a friend and equal. "You have proven yourself to be both capable and a trustworthy ally of the Crusades. And let us not forget that the Purification Forge would not even exist if it were not for your tireless efforts and the bravery of your friends. You travelled all the way to Heaven to discover a way to re-purpose the Corruption Forge, and for that, we are eternally grateful."

Her eyes gleamed with determination as she nodded firmly. "We are all working towards the same goal, and it takes all of us to succeed. Please, keep me updated on your progress."

"May the Inheritor guide your hands and bring her favor upon your work," Irabeth said before Ehren left, holding her longsword at her chest, blade pointed upwards, in a commonly seen Mendevian salute.

A few days later, Ehren was granted a private audience with the Lord-Commander in the war planning room. During their conversation, Ehren made a personal request to visit Nurah Dendiwhar, who was currently serving time in prison for her part in working as a counter-operative during the siege of Drezen. Irabeth, without hesitation, agreed to Ehren's request, and soon enough, the Archdruid was escorted to Nurah's cell deep beneath the Citadel, far apart from the other dungeons.

The cell was guarded by some of Irabeth's most trusted Crusaders, who were part of her original Eagle Watch back when she and Anevia were stationed at Kenabres. The halfling historian was seated at a small table, her nose buried in a book. Thanks to Lord-Commander Bishop's kindness, the cell was cozy and well-furnished.

When Ehren was shown in, Nurah didn't even bother to look up from her book, 'Sarkoris: A Lost Civilization Revisited'. "Fenton, I told you, I don't need any more pastries," she grumbled. "I haven't even finished the last batch you brought me."

But when she finally looked up, she frowned in surprise. "Oh, you're not Bootblack. Archdruid, what brings you here?" she asked, her voice dry and matter-of-fact.

Myrna

Myrna arrives at the group barracks of the citadel, and throws herself into her new life as a captain stationed at Drezen. She was surprised to find that the tieflings in Drezen were treated much better than in Nerosyan, with resources such as counseling programs and job placement for rehabilitated tiefling cultists readily available to them. This was all thanks to the former Lord-Commander, Ary Bishop, known as the "Winds of Change" amongst her growing tiefling cult, who had made a profound impact on their lives. Amongst the tiefling Crusaders in particular, Myrna finds more adherents of Bishop than she does of Iomedae, a stark difference from back in Nerosyan. Unfortunately, despite the improved infrastructure, Myrna still encountered instances of racism from non-tiefling citizens. Some people just could not see past their perceived association to the Abyss and the demons they warred against.

Myrna quickly became a fixture in the barracks, earning the respect of her fellow soldiers through her sparring sessions. She never used her magic or giant form during these matches, instead relying on her skills and strategies to challenge her opponents. She formed strong bonds with the tiefling soldiers in particular, who were eager to prove themselves, and even some of the more reserved captains warmed up to her presence.

One day, a group of young soldiers approached Myrna for help in preparing for an upcoming mock battle. Myrna eagerly agreed, and spent countless hours training them, encouraging them to work together as a team and to trust in their own abilities. Her efforts paid off when the day of the mock battle arrived, and the soldiers she had trained performed exceptionally well, helping to turn the tide of the trial.

In the evenings, Myrna visited the Demetae village outside the walls of Drezen. The warm light of the setting sun greeted her as she approached, the sound of children playing and laughter filling the air. The villagers welcomed Myrna with open arms, and she quickly became a fixture in the community. Her drumming skills and her ability to grow to the size of a giant made her a valuable asset, and she used them to help build houses, mend fences, and treat injured packbeasts. Every evening, she put on a show for the children in the village square, playing her drums and singing songs, and she quickly became a beloved figure in the community.

One day, a widow approached Myrna in tears, and she listened attentively as the woman shared her troubles. Myrna offered to help, cooking pots of soup for the woman's family and earning the admiration of the villagers for her kindness and selflessness.

After several days, Myrna was finally assigned her captain's quarters, a small but warm and cozy cottage located just outside the inner keep of Citadel Drezen. She settled in and soon hosted a gathering, inviting everyone she had met so far, including the soldiers she had trained, the tiefling residents, and the Demetae villagers. The night was filled with laughter, conversation, and merriment, as people from all walks of life came together to celebrate their shared experiences aiding the Crusades and forward settling the Worldwound.

As the night wore on, Myrna played her drum, her steady beat drawing people to the dance floor. She sang along, her clear voice ringing out over the din, and the room was filled with a joyous energy. The guests traded stories and shared their experiences, creating a bond that transcended cultural and societal differences. In her first week at Citadel Drezen, Myrna had already formed lasting relationships with a diverse group of individuals, all united under the banner of Drezen.

Unafe

Though this was but a brief trip away from her new home, Unafe was eager to return to see how the Demetae village was fairing upon her return. The Demetae settlement is a bustling, lively place, full of activity and the sounds of children playing and animals braying. There are a few dozen Sarkorian-styled round houses were made of packed mud and thatched roofs, and they were surrounded by fields where crops would be planted in the coming spring and fields for grazing livestock. The people were a mix of warriors, farmers, and artisans, all working together to sustain the community. Everyone is garbed in heavy furs to help stave off the bitter Sarkorian winter.

As she made her way through the village, Unafe was greeted with warm smiles and nods of recognition from the villagers, who warmly welcome their returning Clan-Liege. She made her way to the main gathering place, where Nelket and the elders of the tribe were waiting for her.

"Good morning, Unafe," Nelket said, rising from her seat and approaching her. "It's good to see you. We have much to discuss."

She pauses as Unafe asks her how the tribe was faring.

"We are doing well, all things considered," Nelket said. "The autumn harvest was good, and we have stored plenty of food to last the winter. Our warriors have been training hard, thanks to your guidance, though not a one has managed to take on the form of a sacred saurian. However, I am confident that with enough time and training, they will be able to fight as our ancestors once did. Our children, too, are strong and resilient, and they are learning to use their skills to protect themselves and the tribe. And they are also learning the value of cooperation and working together."

Nelket placed a hand on Unafe's shoulder and smiled. "Welcome back, Clan-Liege. It's good to have you here."

At some point during the week, Unafe made the journey to the Pathfinder Lodge within Drezen to meet with Valais, the Venture-Captain. The lodge was a magnificent structure, once a stately mansion that served as Xander's first home after reclaiming the city. The building was now the hub of the Pathfinder Society's operations in the region, since the Pathfinder Lodge in Nerosyan was destroyed.

As Unafe stepped through the doors of the lodge, she was greeted by the sight of scholars and adventurers going about their business. She made her way to Valais' private chambers, where she was welcomed by the Venture-Captain herself.

"Good morning, Unafe," Valais said, rising from her seat to greet her. "What brings you here today?"

Valais listened carefully as Unafe spoke of her dream and her concerns. When she was finished, the Venture-Captain nodded thoughtfully. "I understand your worries, Unafe. I have not learned anything new about Apostae's Tear, but I have summoned a few experts in astronomy from Absalom to lend their expertise. They will be arriving in a few days to provide a few open lectures at the Academy of the Living Saint, and you would be welcome to join if you'd like."

Valais offered a reassuring smile. "I understand that this wait is difficult, but I hope that the lectures will provide some new insights and ideas. We will get to the bottom of this mystery, I promise you. In the meantime, let us enjoy some tea and discuss how your trip went."

Hinagiku

Lord-Commander Irabeth nods in agreement, her face serious. "I understand your worries about Nordvick's fate," she says. "I share your belief that without hope, redemption is unlikely. From what we've gathered in our initial interrogations, it seems that Nordvick did not actually sign an Infernal Contract, as the imp led him to believe. However, no divination can predict Pharasma's judgment, and Nordvick has committed numerous grave sins."

She takes a deep breath and continues. "Whether he has signed an Infernal Contract or not should be the least of his worries. The evil acts he has committed far outweigh any potential contract. That being said, I am grateful for your presence here today, Hinagiku. I hope that your entire group that assisted in resolving the matter will be able to attend the trial. Your support will mean a lot to us and could make all the difference in the outcome."

Irabeth finishes with a warm smile. "Of course, the trial won't be for a few weeks yet. But, I appreciate your support and I hope that your presence will be a source of comfort for Nordvick as he faces his judgment."

Unafe is proud to see the work that is going on in the Demetae village. ”Thank you Nelkit. Admittedly, the gift of taking saurian form is rare, but perhaps we’ll yet help one of our youth unlock it. In the meantime, I see Dwyvach and Arianllyn are at least becoming quite the wrestlers. I don’t doubt that one or the other will be able to tackle an aurochs before too long, should the need arise.

“In the meantime, I have a very important request for you. On the morning when the comet arrives, I will attempt to speak to Goryon. Before it arrives, Dolok at least deserves the opportunity to be there. As do you. Will you aid me in calling Dolok forth, at dawn tomorrow? ”

She listens with interest to Myrna’s songs, and with great joy as the skald begins to weave Demetae stories and songs into her own repertoire. Somehow, hearing her own tales from that skald’s lips breathed new life into them.

When she sees Valais, Unafe tries not to be disappointed. ”Of course, I would love to attend those lectures, if I’m able.” ...And Valais has done as much as any foreign scholar could. Now I must rely on my ancestors…and my friends.

Now

Unafe wakes before dawn on the appointed morning, greets Nelkit with a quiet nod, and heads to the field where Dolok’s statue stands, a bit outside of the Demetae village.

When she gets there, while she waits for her allies to arrive, she sets up for the ritual. As the rest of her expected friends arrive, and the sun starts to shine over the horizon, Unafe begins the ritual. ”Graddfa dywyll Dolok, mae'n bryd deffro eto..."

Hallit:"Dolok Darkscale, it’s time to awaken again…”

FYI: Unafe would have shared the time and place with each of you beforehand. She'd welcome any and all being here for this.

Present Day

Unafe Two-Hearted kneels before the imposing altar in the heart of the Demetae village, her heart racing with anticipation. The villagers gather around, excited to witness the sacred event of summoning Dolok Darkscale, the madfall teyrn. Each summoning of Dolok is considered a momentous occasion for the Demetae people, a chance to connect with the saurians of the past.

Unafe places the darkwood carving of Dolok on the right of the mithral bowl. She then dons the leather necklace strung with saurian claws and feathers, and offers a piece of fresh meat, carefully slicing it and placing it in the bowl. She pours water into the bowl, being careful not to disturb the polished stone with its mottled pattern.

Focused and determined, Unafe closes her eyes and directs her thoughts and energy towards summoning Dolok. With a strong, confident voice, she speaks in Hallit, "Gwych a phwerus Dolok Darkscale, rydw i, Unafe Dau-Galon, yn gofyn yn ostyngedig am gynulleidfa gyda chi.”

Hallit:

"Great and powerful Dolok Darkscale, I, Unafe Two-Hearted, humbly request an audience with you."

The air erupts with Dolok's deep growl, and a blast of scorching heat envelops Unafe as the madfall teyrn materializes before her. A giant black spectral saurian, Dolok is covered in a mantle of bright multi-colored feathers cascading down his back and his form is semi-translucent. His eyes, shining like molten gold, reflect a deep sadness.

"Unafe," Dolok rumbles. “Beth sy'n dod â chi i'm galw heddiw?"

Hallit:

"What brings you to summon me today?"

Back at the Inn

Li'an spent most of the night finishing the book she'd borrowed. It was certainly far racier than anything she'd read before, and Arie had poked fun at her at least once during the evening when she'd been a bit flustered. It brought back memories of sitting in the hot springs with Val in Neatholm. It seemed like a dream at this point, how long had that been, a couple days after Armasse? Maybe she should make an effort to get out more when she gets back to Drezen, it's not like Val was magically going to come back, she thinks. Meditating, her mind drifts away from Val and she catches herself thinking about Pele for a moment before she shakes it off.

Eventually the inn begins to stir, and Li'an puts away her things to get ready to go. First she tracks down Beatrix and hands the book back. "I enjoyed the book! Mind if I borrow some of the others? It's nice to have something entertaining to do overnight. There's only so many books of history and magic I can read before getting bored."

Before they leave, she tracks down Pele to thank her for helping the previous evening. "If you ever find yourself in Drezen, reach out. I'll buy you a drink. It was a pleasure meeting you, take care! Before turning to leave, she leans in, And don't let that grump of a captain ruin your mood... she adds with a wink.

The Trip Back

On the way back, Li'an listens to Unafe's description of the prophetic dream she'd had. It certainly was a strange description of a place. "I'm not certain where that might refer to, but we can at least research magic to deal with what's mentioned in it, in case something happens. Lack of air, fire and cold seem like the primary issues we'll have to deal with."

When they're attacked by some Hala demons, Li'an takes advantage of the situation to play around with her summons, calling forth a Bralani azata to assist with eliminating the demons. Unlike with devils, which she found anathema and a strong desire to subject to her flames, she didn't feel any particular need to immolate demons, so she was free to experiment with her magic more fully.

Back in Drezen

Once they reached Drezen, Li'an headed to report to Anevia first. The loss of Selik was going to be reported either way, but she wanted her friend to find out first before it came to her in a report. Li'an headed to her office from which she ran the Drezen's scouting units.

"Anevia, can I come in?" she says, knocking briefly on the door before coming in. "I have bad news," she says, walking over to the desk. "Selik died at the Devil's Rest. The demonic vermin, while present were used as cover for murders happening at the Inn at the behest of a Devil. He apparently was tempted by the inn keeper to wish upon an accursed artifact, and when he refused, he was killed. We arrested the innkeeper and he confessed to everything, so I was able to find and bring back his remains at least." Auraelia, for her part, sits quietly in the corner quietly, letting Li'an handle sharing the news. She'd wanted to accompany the elf to Anevia's, since she'd been fond of Selik as well.

Reporting to Irabeth

Since the mission had been Li'an's, she returned to brief Irabeth on what had happened at the inn. When Ehren suggested that they do something with the Covetous Flame at the Purity Forge, Li'an agreed. "I had been thinking the same thing. I haven't had a chance to put the forge to use, and if you'll work with me, I would love a chance to craft something using it. I can't think of anything I'd enjoy more than breaking an infernal artifact and molding it into something that can undo some of the harm it did originally."

Working at the Forge
Li'an spends the first evening trying to determine what to do with the candelabra. She wasn't content to just leave it in the form it was, so she spends time drafting various ideas on paper. Before long she has an idea of what she wants to do with it.

The next day she goes to Ehren and presents her sketch of the ring. "I want to work the candelabra down and reforge it into this ring. I'll need a bit of mithril and celestial mithril from Unafe if we go forward with it, just to perfect the appearance. What do you think?"

Design of the ring
Craft(Jewelry) - Crafter's Fortune: 1d20 + 22 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 22 + 5 + 2 = 38
Aid Another / Craft(Jewelry): 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21

Assuming Ehren agrees, Li'an will begin working with him daily to rework the candelabra, carefully storing it away in the box every day and returning it to Unafe's dream space at night to protect it from divination or theft.

Today
Li'an was intrigued by Unafe's description of the ritual to summon Dolok, so she happily accepted the invitation to come join them. It represented a welcome break from the time in the forge working on the ring with Ehren. The problem, of course, being the lawful nature of the forge, and not the Archdruid's presence. The story about retrieving the statue and all the implements had been an interesting one, and in some sense she'd been there for it, at least corporeally given Isilme had still been occupying her body at the time.

She finds a place to sit on the ground, watching with great interest as Unafe begins the invocation.

Day of the arrival to Drezen
After they are done reporting to Irabeth, when most of the are heading outside while Myrna is poking her head everywhere around, Hinagiku ask her more magically inclined companions if any would have the ability to look into Sana’a fate, even if their chances of succeeding was low.

Myrna’s Guided Tour
”Oh, yes, Mrs. Isilme was like a skald I guess. But what she inspired was so different than what you inspire. Maybe it depends on what is deep inside you.” Hinagiku responds to Myrna. ”Could that be? Or, is it amazing singing skills?”
Well, if you ever get the chance to spend a longer time in Drezen, I am sure many of the Sarkarions here would gladly learn the way of singing from you.

Myrna’s party
Hinagiku gladly attends Myrna’s party. She mingles a bit with the people there, in her humble and gentle way, until she spots Myrna. Making her way, she gently calls to her and makes her way to her side.
”Thank you for inviting us all here. This is quite a nice party and house.” Hinagiku begins. To the captain’s surprise, this familiar greeting is uttered by someone she has never seen before, a short Minkaian young woman with a beautiful face which wears a motherly expression (Hinagiku has never been in human for in Myrna’s presence before).
”And congratulations on your promotion. It seems I will be able to accompany your squadron much more often than I had first thought.”

Hinagiku’s time alone
On the day of their return, after they reported their findings to Irabeth and giving a tour to Myrna, Hinagiku leaves her company and heads alone to Meridrand’s place. It had only been four days since she had last seen him (nor sure how canon this post should be considered, but I assume having seen him recently is an acceptable assumption), but things were not going well. So much so that it seemed unlikely that he would recover on his own. And so, during the trip, Hinagiku had come to the decision that is was time for the man to come to this realization himself and seek help or even simply come and live at the temple of Irori . When she arrives, Hinagiku has a discussion through the night with him, gently nudging him toward recognising his problem and perhaps being willing to make some changes.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (10) + 21 = 31

With the remainder of her time, Hinagiku spends her days in training, meditation, and speaking to Nordvick and Dehliana to bring them comfort, if she is allowed that is. At night, Hinagiku walks the least safe streets in her human form, doing her best to come to the aid of those who need it, namely people who have lost their senses to drugs, or simply showing kindness to whomever she meets.

present
As promised, Hinagiku is at Dolok’s statue on the day of the comet, standing right by Li’an. She watches, with her eyes open, the ritual which brings back memories of their time in Iobaria; their first meeting with Nelket, melting ice among pine trees, the Skrovlov family, and strange jelly-like creatures in the woods.

As the ritual comes to completion, Hinagiku finds herself bowing in respect to the grand saurian’s arrival. She listens to the few words exchanged between Unafe and them, but soon finds her gaze drawn to the sky, searching for the promised burning streak in the sky.

Before Leaving Devil's Rest

Pele smiled at Li'an's offer, "Thank you, Li'an. I'm touched by your offer and will surely take you up on it if the sun shines favorably and I find myself in Drezen. It was such a delight to meet you, and I wish you a safe and fulfilling journey."

As Li'an leaned in, Pele couldn't help but burst into a peal of laughter at her playful comment about the captain. "Don't worry, I won't let him get to me. He's really not that bad; you just have to wear him down with kindness. I appreciate it, though," Pele said with a warm smile.

"May the Everlight warm your path always," she says, by way of a farewell.

Upon Arriving at Drezen

Anevia slouched in her chair, a scowl on her face as she heard Li'an's story. She'd known Selik for what felt like forever and thought of him as a solid ally and a good friend. "S*%@, Li'an," she muttered. "Selik was one hell of a scout. Brave as they come, and he'll be missed for sure."

"His family will at least be grateful for the closure," Anevia said, shaking her head. "He won't be forgotten, that's for damn sure. People will remember his sacrifice as a shining example of bravery and dedication to the Crusades."

Anevia leaned back in her chair, taking a deep breath and trying to calm her anger. "So what about that innkeeper? Did you bring him in?" she asked, her voice tight.

"Justice will be served," Lann replied, stepping forward. Anevia had assigned him to work with Li'an, and he had accompanied her to deliver the report. "The innkeeper has been arrested and brought to Drezen to stand trial. He has already confessed to his wrongdoing."

"Thanks, you three," Anevia said, nodding. "We should head over to the court and catch up with Irabeth. She'll want to hear all about your adventure."

After Reporting to Lord-Commander Irabeth

Hinagiku was filled with dread as she stepped inside Meridrand's home. The once tidy living space was now littered with empty liquor bottles, evidence of the man's downward spiral. Her heart sank as she realized just how dire the situation was. She had hoped to find Meridrand here so she could offer her support and encourage him to seek help.

But with the home empty, Hinagiku knew she needed to act fast. She made her way to his squadron's barracks, determined to find someone who could give her information about Meridrand's condition. When she arrived, she was informed that Captain Amber Holmes, Meridrand's commanding officer, and her team had been sent on a dangerous reconnaissance mission into the Wound.

Despite the setback, Hinagiku refused to give up. She asked around, hoping to find some shred of hope, but the rumors she heard only added to her concern. People were saying that Meridrand still went around reeking of booze, but spoke positively of the fact that he was able to pull himself together just enough to fulfill his duties when the Crusades needed him.

The Rest of the Week

Hinagiku's days and nights in the city were filled with diverse pursuits. During the day, she pushed herself to the limit in the temple of Irori, training her body and mind for battle and offering guidance to the Iroran worshippers who sought her wisdom. When she wasn't honing her skills, she took time for introspection, meditating to find inner peace and focus. She also made trips to the citadel dungeons to support Nordvick and Dehliana, who were facing their own obstacles. While Nordvick was grateful for Hinagiku's presence, he was still consumed by fear about his upcoming trial. Dehliana, however, remained distant and refused Hinagiku's help.

Come nightfall, Hinagiku hit the streets to keep watch over the city's most dangerous corners. There, she encountered those who had fallen victim to the temptations of demon-laced drugs and other vices. Hinagiku did all she could to support these individuals, lending an ear, offering comfort, and showing kindness to those who were most in need. Through her selfless efforts, Hinagiku aimed to bring hope and light to the darkest parts of the city, driven by her unwavering commitment to help others and make a positive impact in the world.

Thoughout the ritual, the spark and buzz of saurian spirits grows around her until it's almost deafening, but as Dolok appears they suddenly hush, all eyes on the great companion of Goryon the Wise.

For herself, Dolok's appearance fills Unafe with joy for his company, but also sadness for the great spirit's deep grief.

Unafe rises to her full saurian height, and yet she is still dwarfed by the massive tyrannosaur. (Those who've met her more recently may not recognize the enchanted ceremonial headdress she wears, made from a raptor's skull.)

"Gweth Dolok, cydymaith Goryon, gwarchodwr y Demetae, fe'ch gwysiaf heddiw oherwydd credaf mai dyma'r bore y siaradodd Goryon â Cunall ers talwm. Ystyr geiriau: Y bore pan fydd y gomed i'w gweld yn yr awyr.

Hallit:
"Great Dolok, companion of Goryon, protector of the Demetae, I summon you today because I believe this is the morning that Goryon spoke to Cunall of so long ago. The morning when the comet can be seen in the sky.

I pray to the Ancestors, human and saurian, I may finally be joined with my Ancestor Heart...or else at least to learn why I am unworthy.

If you do not want to stay with us, I will honor your wish, but I am certain that Goryon would be overjoyed to see you again...and I would face this moment more easily with you beside me."

[ooc]Either way, Unafe will greet her friends as they arrive, but otherwise spends the time after the ritual repeating the same prayers that Old Aye taught her to pray, in order to call Goryon to her in the terrifying moments before the Taranau Valley was first overrun.

. . Chariot Motif (3 hours) You may grant a motif that ensures the target is always able to act. The target gains a +2 insight bonus on saving throws against effects that would prevent them from acting (such as dazing or paralysis) or make them staggered. This bonus increases by +1 for every 10 caster levels. The target may discharge this effect to ignore one such effect for a number of rounds equal to your casting ability modifier, and may do so even when they would otherwise not be able to take an immediate action, such as when dazed or nauseated.
. . Temperance Motif (3 hours) Spend 1 SP to grant a motif that protects against the whims of luck. When the target rolls a natural 1 on a saving throw or attack roll, they may reroll it. If the new roll is also a natural 1, this effect does not allow them to reroll again, though the motif ’s discharge effect may allow them to. The target may discharge this effect to reroll a single saving throw they have just made but before the results of that roll are revealed. They must take the result of the reroll, even if it is worse than the original roll.
. . Swords Motif (3 hours) You actualize the target’s power to bring about action. When granted as a motif, the target gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls. This bonus increases by +1 for every 10 caster levels. The target may discharge this effect as an immediate action and become unerring in purpose. For the next minute, the target ignores any miss chance due to concealment. Once during this effect’s duration, when the target threatens a critical hit, the target may choose to gain a bonus on their attack roll to confirm that critical hit equal to 1/2 your caster level (minimum 1). This effect may not be combined with any ability or effect that automatically threatens critical hits.

Nurah

Ehren did not take a seat right away. For all he knew, he would be dismissed in short order - he would not impose on her if she did not want him around. Nevertheless, he was not too surprised to hear that Fenton had visited recently, considering who his role model is.

“My conscience, I suppose,” the archdruid replied in an even tone, struggling to identify the feelings roiling within. Since Nurah’s trial, the druid had not so much as laid eyes on her; it had been even longer since their last exchange of words. Back then, while she was sealed in a stone prison of his creation, he thought he saw her for what she truly was - a creature devoid of belief or conviction, an opportunist who acted without purpose. Had that changed? Or had he been wrong about her all along?

“For a time, I imagined you down here, clasped in irons,” he said, glancing at the furnishings. If he had not known better, he might not have thought it a prison. But he was far too wise not to recognize a gilded cage when he saw one. “Ary obviously had a different idea entirely. I suppose that is just one of the many differences between us. If she saw a great black, writhing pit with a faint glimmer at the bottom, she would jump down without hesitation to save that light. I would just plug the pit with a boulder and spare myself the disappointment.”

Ehren went quiet for several moments before continuing more earnestly.

“Self-serving as it may be, I would like to take a chance and remove that boulder. To find out what I have been hiding underneath it all this time. In return, I offer you another firsthand account of what is happening in the Worldwound,“ The druid eyed the book in her hands pointedly. “And perhaps, a perspective of my people’s history you will not find in any book or scroll.”

Covetous Flame

Ehren had thanked Irabeth for entrusting him with the evil artifact but remained uncertain whether what he was hoping to accomplish was even possible. Considering how dangerous it was, would it even be wise to take it out of the chest again? And what would happen if it proved impervious to the Forge’s holy flames?

Fortunately, Li’an appeared to have been struck by inspiration. The druid had raised a brow when he first saw her beautiful design for the ring-to-be, an elaborate band of twisting metal that evoked images of burning flames. She did not just want to redeem the Covetous Flame - she wanted to reshape it. However, there was one other concern that he wanted to share with her.

“We’ve used the Forge once before on a stave that bore a malevolent intelligence,” Ehren explained, briefly recounting the encounter they had with duergar slavers. “It desired nothing more than to enslave those that were lesser than it, and its magic suited that purpose. After it passed through the Forge’s flames, it became its polar opposite - a staff that espoused ideals of freedom, that had the power to free others from their shackles, physical or otherwise.”

“I first learned of wish magic from Isilme. I could not have imagined that the power to manifest one's desires from nothing exists. And yet, she owes her existence to it... but only because of a contradiction. I have also seen what wishes granted by both demon and devil magic are capable of. The former Demetae clan-liege, Marhevok, was granted immense power, and the ability to fight like his ancestors, but his heart was corrupted. And we both saw how Dehliana turned out.” Ehren shook his head. "It all makes me wonder what can arise from a good wish, or if such a thing exists at all."

Ehren will spend most of his free time figuring that out with Li’an. :)[/spoiler]

Will post more stuff later today!

Ehren, Nurah:

"Hmph," Nurah replied, her voice still carrying the dry and matter-of-fact tone that seemed to be her signature. She gazed at Ehren skeptically, her gaze full of suspicion and uncertainty. "You offer me a chance to delve into the history of the Worldwound and learn about the history of your people from a new perspective, but what do you stand to gain from this, Archdruid? I can't imagine you have the time to waste on a prisoner like me."

Nurah's eyes flickered down to the book in her hands and then back up to meet Ehren's gaze. "As for my own research, any additional information would certainly be beneficial," she admitted, her brow furrowing as she considered the situation. "I do have some questions about some missing lineage of the Dziergas clan during the 4400s...." she trails off.

Her expression remained cautiously guarded, but it softens somewhat. It was clear that she was still uncertain about Ehren's motivations and couldn't bring herself to trust him easily. "So, I ask again, Archdruid," she pressed. "Why are you here? I'm not convinced that after all this time you've decided to pay me a visit just to help me write a book."

Ehren:

4400 AR was a time of shift to assimilate more of Southerner culture, as it was the year 4433 that Deskari first attempted to conquer Sarkoris. After Aroden and his Crusades successfully pushed Deskari back, there was an increased interest in worship of the mortal-turned-deity, and many of the larger Sarkorian cities as a result of his priest's influence began to implement the dressings of "civilization" into Sarkorian culture as a result, since as the use of a gold-based currency, the concept of taxation, and the spread of the Common language, and increased literacy rates.

Some descendants of Warlord Dziergas (who is most famous for having overthrown the witchwardens of Sarkoris in 4000 AR, and almost managed to fully unify Sarkoris under one Warlord, before he was assassinated in 4024 AD). His descendants wielded great political power in Storasta until the time of its fall.

Henwas Dziergas (4410-4530) - Henwas, an Inquisitor/Skald of Gorum, was known for his cunning diplomacy and his ability to navigate the complicated political landscape of Storasta. He was able to secure several strategic alliances with other nearby Warlords, ensuring the safety and prosperity of Storasta for many years to come. It is said Gorum blessed him with unusually long life.

Arianrhod Dziergas (4430-???) - Arianrhod was known for turning against the Dziergas clan, founding a group of bandits that preyed on merchants who traveled to and from the city. She was known for her secretive works of philanthropy and her love for the arts. She used the proceeds from her banditry to sponsor many artists and musicians, who would then go on to tell tales of her as a noble hero-thief. Due to these tales, it is hard for Ehren to discern what about her life was true and what was fiction. She was also a strong supporter of education, secretly providing donations to several schools and libraries throughout Storasta.

Eugeuin Dziergas (4450-4538) - Eugeuin was a fearless warrior known as a tattooed mystic and a brilliant military strategist. He led several successful campaigns against rival warlords to the Dziergas clan, expanding their influence and re-establishing the clan as a major power in the region after a brief period of ignominy thanks to the rival Widowknife clan.

Bryn Dziergas (4470-4550) - The druidess Bryn was a passionate advocate for the rights of the common people. She worked tirelessly to improve the lives of the peasants, and wished for Sarkoris to be a more just and peaceful society. She was also known for her love of nature and her devotion to the Green, establishing several parks and gardens throughout Storasta.

Ehren doesn't have a complete reckoning, as Clan Dziergas lived in Storasta, and Ehren has never been to the menhir in Storasta.

Present Day

Dolok loomed over Unafe, his presence overwhelming as a deep rumble echoed from within him. His piercing yellow eyes seemed to gaze into her very soul, as if weighing her words and measuring the depth of her longing. The memories of his time by Goryon's side came rushing back, stirring the excitement of the possibility of a reunion in his chest.

"Unafe o'r Demetae," he began, his voice a deep low rumble. "Rwyf yn rhy synhwyro y gallai hyn fod y bore Goryon siarad o. Yr wyf, hefyd, yn hir ar gyfer yr aduniad gyda fy cydymaith annwyl. Ond, byddwch yn ofalus, ni fydd y llwybr o'm blaen yn hawdd. Mae'r gomed yn unig y dechreuad, ac yr oedd llawer o beryglon a rhwystrau o'n blaen. Nid yw Calon yr Hynafiad ond yn gwneyd ei hun yn hysbys ar adegau o berygl mawr."

Dolok paused, taking a deep breath before continuing, "Ond, mi a safaf yn eich ymyl, Unafe. Oherwydd yr wyf finnau hefyd yn credu y gallai hyn fod yn gyfle i ni gael ein haduno â Goryon unwaith eto."

Hallit:

"Unafe of the Demetae,"

"I too sense that this could be the morning Goryon spoke of. I, too, long for the reunion with my beloved companion. But, beware, the path ahead will not be easy. Today is only the beginning, and many dangers and obstacles lay ahead. The Ancestor's Heart only makes itself known in times of great peril."

"But, I will stand by you, Unafe. For I, too, believe that this may be our chance to be reunited with Goryon once more."

With those words, Dolok extended his massive head, nuzzling Unafe in a show of support and affection. Her cheek and neck felt icy cold as his spectral form made contact with her skin. He then gazed upwards, his eyes fixed on the sky as he awaited the appearance of the fated shooting star.

On the day of the comet, Myrna eschews her normal duties and schedule and heads to the Demetae village first thing in the morning (arriving actually after the great saurian was summoned, jogging up to the ritual location because she slept in a few extra minutes). She arrives to find Beatrix already there. Beatrix actually arrived early, uniform neatly pressed, hair combed, a respectful greeting for all participants). Myrna, on the other hand, has messy bed-head and an embarrassed smile. She jogs up beside her lieutenant, greets her quietly, and marvels at the great saurian spirit.

"I've never seen such a creature," she mutters, "No wonder the Demetae worship them. It's glorious. A shame it's dead. I wonder if they can ever come back?"

She looks around at the small crowd that's gathered to witness the summoning, and she listens to Unafe and Dolok as they communicate. It seemed everyone was content simply to wait until the comet appeared, and to see what happened afterwards? Myrna doesn't want to disrupt the solemn gathering with her shouted requests for more information, so she gets with the program and waits quietly for something interesting to happen.

Present Day, Present Time

On the projected day of the comet’s arrival, Ehren is awake bright and early, eager to witness the anticipation of Goryon firsthand. With only the cryptic words of Unafe’s sacred ancestors to guide him, he had spent much of the past week preparing for this moment. The day after their return to Drezen, the archdruid visited Mother Heartwood on Paradise Hill to borrow her power. While she could not accompany him herself, the fruits she bore undoubtedly could. As a conduit, Ehren had channeled the ley and poured a sizable portion of his own power into her roots, imbuing her bounty with his protective magics. Whether they would be powerful to ward off endless cold remained to be seen.

After using place magic, Ehren spent 5 MP to imbue fifty of Mother Heartwood’s fruits with resist cold (CL 12th, 2 hr duration, resist 30). He is down one 2nd-level spell slot. He will carry 20 of them (20 lbs.) in his polymorphic pouch and leave the rest.

Since then, he has recovered MP at a rate of 2/day, so he is now back to full.

All spells are prepared, and my header is up to date.

Ehren acknowledges the mighty Dolok Darkscale with a reverent bow but does not waste any time exchanging pleasantries, aware of how important this moment is to her. Instead, he just watches as she informs the madfall teyrn of the promised time’s arrival, smiling at the excitement in her words. It was not so long ago that they first met - in a place where fire and ice converged. She was broken then, burdened by the immensity of her failure, of the gulf of time between her and everything she ever loved. But despite it all, fate had returned her to the Demetae when they needed her most. It had also delivered her here, with the rest of them, at just the right time to witness this once-in-a-lifetime event. Many might live to see the wandering star again, but never again would it share the sky with the sun.

When Dolok looks skyward, Ehren’s eyes follow, waiting for the harbinger of Unafe’s fate. He did not have much faith in prophecy, but a promise was another thing entirely. Goryon’s promise.

The heroes and the Demetae stood in hushed anticipation, their eyes fixed on the sky as they eagerly awaited the arrival of the comet. It felt like an eternity had passed, with the seconds stretching on like minutes and the minutes feeling like hours. To pass the time and soothe their restless spirits, the Demetae began to chant an ancestral song, the melody of which was passed down through generations and taught to them by their Clan-Liege, Unafe.

“O ben Cwm Taranau, Arweiniodd Goryon y Doeth ni ymlaen, O ffyrdd rhyfelgar a llafur oer, I wlad o gynhesrwydd a phridd ffrwythlon.

Hallit:

From the Taranau Valley's head,
Goryon the Wise led us ahead,
From warlike ways and cold toil,
To a land of warmth and fertile soil.

Goryon, Goryon, the Wise,
Her Three Gifts we'll always prize,
The Valley, Saurians, Mithral bright,
We'll guard them with all our might.

At the Sacred Mountain's base she pressed,
A passageway opened at her request,
Fossilized bones deep within,
She breathed life into them again.

Goryon, Goryon, the Wise,
Her Three Gifts we'll always prize,
The Valley, Saurians, Mithral bright,
We'll guard them with all our might.

She taught us how to live with grace,
Amongst the Saurians in this place,
And to extract Mithral with care,
And protect it from all who dare.

Goryon, Goryon, the Wise,
Her Three Gifts we'll always prize,
The Valley, Saurians, Mithral bright,
We'll guard them with all our might.

When her body finally gave out,
She asked to be buried deep about,
And said she'd always watch and see,
And come back as the Two-Hearted One to thee.

Goryon, Goryon, the Wise,
Her Three Gifts we'll always prize,
The Valley, Saurians, Mithral bright,
We'll guard them with all our might.

As the chanting reached its crescendo, the Demetae erupted into cheers, their voices ringing out in joyous celebration as the comet finally appeared overhead, shining brilliantly against the bright blue sky. The comet was a dazzling shade of purple-pink, glowing with an otherworldly radiance as it slowly moved across the sky. The Demetae watched in wonder, their eyes following the comet's path as it traversed the heavens.

Unafe:

Meanwhile, Unafe felt a stirring deep within her heart, as if something long dormant had been awoken. It had to be Goryon, the sacred ancestor who had brought the sacred saurians to life so many thousands of years ago, and who had founded the Demetae. She could feel another mind awaken inside her own, a strange and unfamiliar sensation that filled her with excitement.

A woman's voice echoed inside Unafe's mind, speaking in the ancient language of Hallit, "Dwi wedi deffro!” She knows this voice already. It was the first voice she heard when she awoke first in this strange time, frozen in the ice. Since then she had heard it a few times over, but never as loudly and as forcefully as she did now.

Hallit: ”I have awoken!”

The voice grew in strength and volume, and Unafe could feel Goryon's presence growing inside of her, pushing against her own consciousness and attempting to seize control of her body and voice. The sensation was like nothing she had ever experienced before, as if she was growing to the size of an enormous saurian, but only in her mind.

It is a DC 25 will save to resist Goryon’s possession, including the bonus from Supervisor

Unafe’s eyes start to glow a vivid pink, the same color as the comet above. Dolok shifts his weight and peers at Unafe expectantly…

Starting when Dolok replies to Unafe

Unafe smiled at Dolok's own anticipation. "Diolch am eich rhybudd, ffrind i'r Demetae. Mae'n galonogol gwybod y byddaf yn wynebu heriau heddiw gyda chi wrth fy ochr."

Hallit: "Thank you for your warning, Friend of the Demetae. I am heartened to know that I'll face today's challenges with you at my side."

When Sicrwydd nuzzles her leg, the clan-liege laughs. "Ac wrth gwrs gyda ti hefyd, Sicrwydd.

Hallit: And of course with you too, Sicrwydd."

After greeting her companions, Unafe settles back into her prayers, calling out for Goryon, longing to hear her voice. She only looks up when she hears others gasp at the sight of the comet.

When she does, her heart begins to beat faster...and then she swears there's another heart beating in her chest too. The voice she has occasionally heard whisper to her is suddenly louder than her own thoughts.

In a moment of terror and ecstasy, Unafe finds she can no longer distinguish which heart, and which voice is her own, but calls out "G-G-G-Goryon, rydych chi yma!"

Hallit: "G-G-G-Goryon, you are here!"

The Covetous Flame:

Li'an listens as Ehren explains about the staff Joran had reforged for them, transforming it from a weapon focused on enslavement to one focused on freedom. It was quite the tale when Joran had mentioned it on one of the tours she'd had of the forge. "Joran said as much when he first brought me down here. It certainly seems easier to ascertain what the polar opposite of the original weapon's goal was in that case."

She thinks for a bit as Ehren discusses wishes and their implications. She had also finally heard the entire story of Isilme's binding to the sword, so she understood the point he was making. Wishes were powerful and even when untainted by the evil of devils, were incredibly fickle, dangerous things. "Perhaps it's better to think less of how it accomplishes its goal and instead think about what its goal is. The Covetous Flame is designed to empower you to fulfill your desires, be it power, riches, vengeance or something else. It is, as its name suggests, an avaricious in goal. The opposite would be to seek to empower altruism or altruistic acts. It is unlikely that any truly good power would attempt to do so via wishes, because they can always be perverted or have unintended consequences which would run against what it was created to achieve. Additionally, the Covetous Flame seeks to corrupt, so its opposite might seek to redeem. In either case I think it would be unlikely to actually provide an actual wish, though I suppose a limited wish might not be beyond its power if it aligned with its goals."

"Most importantly though, I can think of no finer fate for this accursed object than to consign it to serve the opposite of its infernal purpose for the rest of eternity," she says to Ehren with a wink. "Even if all it could do was feed the hungry, it would be worth it to have ruined the machinations of devils and Narikopolous."

Now

Li'an watches with amazement as the giant saurian spirit appears and speaks with Unafe. She had become used to the various small spirits that swirled about the Demetae Clan-Liege, but hadn't expected the spirit they were summoning to be full-sized. She watches with interest as they interact, wondering how it was that some people ended up consorting with giant saurian ghosts, and some people just lived their life in a house on a farm, or in a city with nary a sign of the supernatural all their lives.

She's so fixated on the spirit that she's surprised when the clan cheers at the arrival of the comet. She looks up to see it, but her eyes are almost immediately drawn back to Unafe, whose eyes had begun to glow vividly like the comet above them.

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

The sun rises over the Demetae village, casting its golden light over the grassy plains where the entire village has gathered. A magnificent comet, gleaming with an amethyst hue, drifts lazily across the morning sky as heavily armed patrols march to and from the distant city of Drezen. Flocks of birds with an unusual number of wings flit overhead, adding to the air of wonder and anticipation. The buzz of hushed conversation among the waiting crowd is punctuated by occasional outbursts of shouting and chanting.

DC 25 K. Geography:

Apostae's Tear was never described as a purple comet in previous accounts.

Unafe, towering over all but the spectral spirit of Dolok in her saurian form, suddenly stands tall, her gaze fixed on the crowd below. Her eyes gleam a brilliant pink, and wisps of purplish energy escape from her eye sockets and flared nostrils. When she opens her mouth to speak, it seems as though she is filled with pink light, visible within her throat.

An eerie silence descends over the veil of ancestral spirits, a phenomenon that has never occurred before.

Finally, Unafe speaks, her voice accented and unlike any Hallit the onlookers have ever heard, not even Dolok's.

"Demetae Anrhydeddus," she says in a voice steeped in ancient wisdom. "Yr wyf fi, Goryon y Doeth, wedi dychwelyd atoch ar ôl absenoldeb hirfaith. Yn ystod fy amser i ffwrdd, yr ydych wedi dioddef yn fawr. Mae bodau gwrthun o'r tu hwnt wedi gwastraffu ein dyffryn cysegredig, mae oerfel chwerw wedi hawlio bywydau'r Sauriaid cysegredig, a y mae afiechyd wedi anrheithio eich cyrff, gan eich gadael yn brin ac yn wan. Dim mwy. Rwyf yma yn awr i'ch arwain a'ch amddiffyn."

Hallit:

"Honorable Demetae,"

"I, Goryon the Wise, have returned to you after a prolonged absence. During my time away, you have suffered greatly. Monstrous beings from beyond have laid waste to our sacred valley, bitter cold has claimed the lives of the sacred saurians, and disease has ravaged your bodies, leaving you few and weak. No more. I am here now to guide and protect you."

Dolok stomps his feet in excitement, his feathered mantle puffing out to form a brilliant wreath around his neck and shoulders. He then respectfully bows his head. "Goryon, yr ydych wedi dychwelyd o'r diwedd i ni," he exclaims. "Ni...na, nid wyf yn haeddu bendith o'r fath," he says, bitterly, hanging his head even lower.

Hallit:

"Goryon, you have finally returned to us,"

"We...no, I do not deserve such a blessing,"

"Dolok, fy hen ffrind," Goryon says in a warm and comforting tone. "Peidiwch â siarad y fath eiriau. Mae'r wir fendith yn cael ei hailuno â chi unwaith eto."

Hallit:

"Dolok, my old friend. Do not speak such words. The true blessing is being reunited with you once more."

Unafe:

Meanwhile, Unafe finds herself trapped within her own body, as if she is just a mere passenger in her own flesh. She can only perceive the world around her through her senses, but she is unable to even move her head.

But then, she hears the calming voice of Goryon.

"Paid ag ofni, fy mhlentyn,” Goryon says, in a voice that exudes wisdom and authority. "Bydd y prawf hwn yn dod i ben yn fuan. Treuliaf fy holl allu bron i gyflawni'r hyn sy'n rhaid ei wneud, ond wedi i mi orffen, byddaf yn gofyn am dy nerth, ieuanc, i ddwyn ein hymdrech i'w therfyniad cyfiawn. Yr wyf wedi aros am un. Amser hir, hir i heddiw.”

Hallit: "Fear not, my child. This trial shall soon pass. I shall expend nearly all of my power to fulfill what must be done, but once I have finished, I shall require thy strength, young one, to bring our endeavor to its rightful conclusion. I have waited a long, long time for this day."

The return of Goryon was a momentous occasion for the Demetae villagers. As they gazed upon the powerful figure before them, they were filled with a mix of awe, disbelief, and reverence. The Demetae had heard tales of Goryon's wisdom and power, but they never really thought they would actually have the privilege of seeing her in person. The sight of the ancient wise one taking over the body of their Clan-Liege, Unafe was both surprising and reassuring to the villagers, who were in dire need of guidance and support.

Goryon's words were met with rapt attention as the villagers listened intently, hanging on her every syllable. The wise one's soothing voice and confident demeanor instilled a sense of hope and reassurance in the hearts of the villagers. They knew that with Goryon by their side, they had a fighting chance against the demons that threatened their people and the sacred valley they held so dear.

Some of the villagers fell to their knees in reverence, while others raised their hands in gratitude. The return of Goryon had breathed new life into their spirits and given them a renewed sense of purpose. They were willing to follow Goryon and fight alongside her to protect their home and restore their sacred valley to its former glory.

Li'an looks up at the comet again, thinking back to what the experts Valais had looked up had provided them with, along with what Ehren had known of the comet. Something struck her as odd about the situation, but she couldn't exactly remember what it was.

Looking back to Unafe, she is more than a little concerned as it seems that a voice that is not Unafe's begins to speak through her. This Goryon seemed to be in control of Unafe's body, and possessions tended to not be good things, though some of that might have been bias given the primary source of possessions in Mendev and the Worldwound were from Invidiaks. She thinks to ask Goryon whether they intended to release Unafe, but decides to wait to see what happens for now.

Kiora:

Somehow Unafe finds herself one of many listening with awe and disbelief, as the moment she's longed for comes to pass and Goryon returns. Then, sorting through her scrambled senses, she becomes aware that she's lost control of her body.

WHY?? Goryon, am I truly not worthy then? That you cannot trust me to act as one with you?

When Goryon speaks to her, Unafe 'nods' inwardly.

Alright then, you are the wisest of the wise and we have waited long for you. I am yours to command.

It's... purple? Ehren stares at the comet with a furrowed brow, his mouth twitching almost imperceptibly as it struggles to express awe, joy, and confusion all at once. Its last pass was before his birth, but he was certain that the last account of réalta fánaíochta described it as being a blue and green color. He could swear that the information Valais acquired corroborated this. Ehren glances in the direction of the sun, wondering if it is perhaps just some trick of the light - this is, after all, its first recorded appearance in the daytime. But before he can give the strange inconsistency any further attention, everything suddenly goes very silent. Ehren looks to Unafe, realizing too late that the comet's arrival has done exactly as she said it would.

"Dau Galon," he murmurs, once again stricken with awe. He never doubted Unafe's belief in her Ancestor Heart, but to witness its awakening like this was something else entirely. As Goryon the Wise addresses her people, Ehren cannot help but wonder whether this day will mark another turning point for the Kellid people. While the Demetae genuflect, Ehren approaches the honored ancestor with a deep bow. Meeting her eyes, he speaks with the respect that is due to one so ancient.

"Doeth Goryon, bugail y Demetae, fi yw Ehren o lwyth Ferron, Archdderwydd Sarkoris. Mae'n anrhydedd i sefyll yn eich presenoldeb. Mae Unafe bob amser wedi siarad yn uchel iawn ohonoch chi. Rwy'n ei chyfrif hi a'r Demetae ymhlith fy ffrindiau a'm cymrodyr yn y rhyfel yn erbyn y diefligwyr sy'n pla ar ein mamwlad. Felly gofynnaf ichi, sut y gallai gwas y Gwyrdd eich cynorthwyo chi a'ch pobl?"

Hallit:
"Wise Goryon, shepherd of the Demetae, I am Ehren of Clan Ferron, Archdruid of Sarkoris. It is an honor to stand in your presence. Unafe has always spoken very highly of you. I count her and the Demetae among my friends and comrades in the war against the vile fiends that plague our homeland. So I ask you, how might this servant of the Green assist you and your people?"

Myrna feels... confused at the supposed appearance of Unafe's sacred ancestor. The comet above was beautiful, certainly. The ritual was sincere and heartfelt, and the saurian that Unafe had summoned seemed to believe it. From what she could see and hear, though, the spirit of the great lizard was melancholic and desperate -- easy enough to fool. And none alive remembered anything about Goryon, as far as she could tell.

Still, she was resolved to be happy for Unafe...despite the fact that at her supposed moment of greatest triumph, the fierce warrior was not in control of her own body. No matter the momentousness of the occasion, Myrna can't get that out of her head. She couldn't stand being out of control in her own skin. Such a thing would cause her immense discomfort.

Absentmindedly, she fingers the haft of her axe, takes a quick breath, and waits for the situation to advance.

”What is it ….” Hinagiku had begun to say after noticing Ehren’s confused reaction to the comet. But, before she could finish, the booming voice of Goryan had commanded her archdruid companion into a servant. She too felt like the great leader deserved respect, and bowed, but not the most submissive of bows; something felt wrong, the possession did even though Unafe seemed to have accepted it without problem. But, right now, Hinagiku could simply hope that Unafe was alright and willing.

WotR Global Buffs/Debuffs: ----

"Ehren Ferron, Archdderwydd Sarkoris, Arglwydd y Gaeaf," Goryon's voice booms, its timbre steeped in the weight of ages past. "Mae'n anrhydedd i mi sefyll o flaen un sy'n dwyn mantell y Werddon. Mae eich dewrder yn y frwydr yn erbyn yr Abyss yn hysbys i mi, ac mae'n cynhesu fy nghalon i weld yr Hen Ffyrdd yn cael eu cynnal yn yr amseroedd cythryblus hyn."

Hallit:

"Ehren Ferron, Archdruid of Sarkoris, the Winter Lord,"

"It is my honor to stand before one who bears the mantle of the Green. Your valor in the fight against the Abyss is known to me, and it warms my heart to see the Old Ways upheld amidst these troubled times."

Goryon pauses, her ancient gaze locking with Ehren's. "O ran sut y gallwch chi fy nghynorthwyo i a'm Demetae, gadewch imi rannu ein cyflwr. Rydym wedi cael ein gwahanu oddi wrth gartref ein hynafiaid, ein hysbryd ar wasgar, ein llinellau gwaed wedi'u malurio. Mae gwir angen arweiniad, arweiniad, i'n haduno ni. gyda’n treftadaeth ac arwain ni yn ôl at ein gwreiddiau.”

Hallit:

"As for how you may assist me and my Demetae, allow me to share our plight. We have been separated from our ancestral home, our spirits scattered, our bloodlines sundered. We are in dire need of guidance, of leadership, to reunite us with our heritage and lead us back to our roots."

"Yr wyf yn erfyn arnat, Archdderwydd, i roi benthyg i ni dy ddoethineb, dy nerth, i’n cynorthwyo i adennill lleoedd cysegredig ein cyndadau ac ailddarganfod y llwybr y buom yn crwydro rhagddo ers llawer rhy hir. Gad inni sefyll gyda’n gilydd yn erbyn lluoedd drygioni, a sicrhau dyfodol disglair i’n pobl.”

Hallit:

"I implore you, Archdruid, to lend us your wisdom, your strength, to help us reclaim the sacred places of our forebears and rediscover the path we have strayed from for far too long. Let us stand together against the forces of evil, and secure a bright future for our people."

Goryon turns her gaze skyward, towards the purple comet high overhead. "Ysywaeth, mae'n rhaid bod fy amser yn siarad â chi'n uniongyrchol yn fyr, er mawr dristwch i mi."

Hallit:

"Alas, my time speaking with you directly must be brief, much to my sorrow."

Unafe:

"Mae'r gomed yn agosáu, a rhaid i mi weithredu nawr, cyn i'r cyfle fynd heibio i ni."

Hallit: "The comet draws near, and I must act now, before the opportunity passes us by."

Unafe hears Goryon's voice - but she is not speaking to anyone in particular. Are these her inner thoughts?

"Trwy nerth y ddaear y gwneler fy ewyllys."

Hallit:

"By the power of the earth, my will be done."

Stepping into a clearing amidst the roundhouses, Goryon's voice rumbles with ancient power as she balls one clawed hand into a fist and holds it out before her in the palm of her opposite hand. The heroes and the Demetae feel the ground shake beneath their feet as Goryon's power grows stronger. With a mighty cry, she places both palms on the earth and bends down, her power causing the earth to buckle and bend to her will.

An enormous ring of stone, thirty feet across, rises from the ground, levitating majestically a few feet above it and beginning to spin with increasing speed. Goryon stands back, her body glowing with pink-purple energies, and the floating ring hums with the power of her magic. Suddenly, a pinpoint of light appears in the center of the ring and expands, filling the entire ring with a brilliant, otherworldly glow.

Goryon expends 5 of Unafe's Mythic Power - please notate this in your tracking.

The stone ring blazes with incandescent energy. A ferocious wind rushes through the ring as air rushes out and into the vacuum beyond, blowing the heroes' hair forwards. The ring's rotation slows, allowing the heroes to see that a portal has formed within the ring. Beyond lies a breathtaking field of jagged grey stone, vast and empty.

Unafe:

""Os gwelwch yn dda, peidiwch ag ofni. Yr wyf yn dod atoch chi," whispers Goryon in Unafe's mind.

Hallit: "Please, don't fear. I am coming to you,"

And with that, the glowing energy within Unafe's eyes and mouth extinguishes, leaving her standing before the Demetae, her head tilted back and her eyes rolled back in her head before she regains her control of her senses once more.

Unafe:

"Paid ag ofni, fy un ifanc," Goryon whispers to Unafe in the back of her mind. "Mae'r lle y tu hwnt i'r porth yn ddi-aer ac yn ddi-swn, ond gallaf ddefnyddio fy ngrym i'ch amddiffyn chi a'r tywysydd ysbryd Sawraidd sydd gennych. Rhaid i'ch cynghreiriaid, fodd bynnag, ddibynnu ar eu hud eu hunain i oroesi."

Hallit: "Fear not, young one."
"The place beyond the portal is airless and soundless, but I can use my power to protect you and the saurian spirit-guide you bear. Your allies, however, must rely on their own magic to survive."

"Rhaid i ni frysio, un ifanc. Y tu hwnt i'r porth mae rhywun y mae'n rhaid i ni ei achub. Ond rhaid inni fod yn gyflym, oherwydd mae ein gelynion yn niferus, ac ni allwn adael iddynt ddod o hyd iddi yn gyntaf."

Hallit: "We must hurry, young one. Beyond the portal lies someone we must rescue. But we must be swift, for our enemies are many, and we cannot let them find her first."
