Joli enters the side chamber. This room has a simple stone floor and undecorated gray stone walls. The stark nature of the room is interrupted only by a large circle of silvery metal set into the floor in the corner of this room. One wall of this room is mostly transparent, providing a view of a larger, adjacent chamber.


We've been told that it's not real, right? Do we get a +4 bonus on our saves? "If any viewer successfully disbelieves an illusion and communicates this fact to others, each such viewer gains a saving throw with a +4 bonus."

Move action: Silt runs his fingers along the stone wall, wondering why Cedar believes them false. Will+5 +4: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

However, he feels old stone under his fingers (assuming this is an illusion that can create tactile effects?) and walks to the double doors to open them. provokes from the Skum

You do get the +4, yes. Not quite enough though, in this case! Also, your character doesn't have to believe that it's a real wall on a failed save, you just can't see through the illusion. Whatever is fun!

A curving ramp along the northern wall of this chamber ascends to the floor above. The east and west walls each have a single door, and a double door stands in the southern wall. Murals cover the east and west walls in this space, depicting kind-looking human adult figures smiling benevolently at children. The children, for their part, are smiling and appear healthy and happy. The figures, both adults and children, have tiny jewels orbiting around their heads in shining rings that resemble halos. Bold words are painted above the door.

Cedar picks up Mitzi and walks her through the illusion, but she just yaps and yaps and yaps.

I realize we didn't spend much time investigating the statute, but Cedar is thinking Carver would be interested in knowing about it. He's also wondering if this is what being a Pathfinder feels like. If so, he might like it!

”There’s a trap inside,” Cedar says. “I got shot by an arrow and Mitzi barely dodged. It didn’t seem to notice Silt though. Silt, can you check that trap out? I don’t think it will fire at you.”

It's transmutation, but you can't quite make out the spell. You do see the faint tracks from long ago going into and out of the circle. They all appear to be constructs.


Silt walks to the panel at the back of the room and looks at it. Take 10 for 18 on perception.

Silt ponders the confusing mechanism for long moments, before jamming his confused spear into it three times.

Silt mashes the control panel with the trident, furiously wrecking cogs and gears. The crossbows emerge and go haywire, spitting bolts all over the room. One aims directly at Silt, before they finally hang limp.

He hops into the circle.
