Apologies all but after some reevaluation I'm finding I have very little time to keep up and post on the board due to family and work obligations. As a result I've decided to reduce the number of games I'm involved with unfortunately this is one of the games I will need to be leaving.

Thank you GM Kamro, Shaeda, Searok and Emma for your patience in putting up with my long absences it has been fun but Makall will need to find himself on the first transport out of Korvosa – likely by caravan it would seem – at the conclusion of this fight.

As an aside, we’re 6th level, and none of us have magic weapons or armor! We need to gear up, or die!!!

Yeah, I just don't have enough to make my weapon +1. I think I could do my armor, but then I'd be wiped.

I think I'll memorize Masterwork Transformation and make my whip a MW weapon at least, to get the +1 to hit.

Hmm, I'll MW my buckler too to reduce the ACP on it.

Hmmm, that does seem low. Maybe I'll go back through the thread as soon as I find the time, add up party loot, and make sure everything is accounted for. Can't remember the last time stuff got sold, probably have a nice little pile sitting around. And if not, I could always throw in something to compensate.

Okay, so I went through the last 10 pages of forum posts, which covers everything from the Dead Warrens on, and jotted down every reward and piece of loot. Link

I included things like cash rewards from Cressida, so ignore those if you already added them to your sheet. Over 33K in value total. Assuming we divide that between Searok, Emma, and Shaeda, and taking into consideration that you already have stuff on you and that until a couple minutes ago you were level 5, then I think we're about within recommended Wealth By Level parameters.

Of course, anyone who wants to claim anything from the sheet should let everyone know.

Not that I’ve ever run out of spells, but I’m the only one that can us the Pearl.

The cloak obviously needs to be worn by someone.

My character concept is completely open and I don't mind making whatever the party needs as far as class and abilities. I do have a half-orc Arcanist that I never finished exploring that I would be willing level up and keep playing.

I'm okay with basically any character you want to play, but the PC who just left was an arcane caster, so if you want to fill that niche you are more than welcome to.

Here are the rules for character creation.

* Ability scores - 15 point buy.

* Everyone just hit level 6. We level according to campaign milestones, so no tracking XP.

* Core races only.

* No evil characters.

* 2 traits

* Starting Wealth: 12,500 gp

* Two Background Skills.

* Official Paizo material only

* Barbarian, Monk, Rogue, and Summoner use their Unchained versions.

* HP: Max + Con for 1st level, 1/2 HD + 1 + Con for subsequent levels (so d6=4, d8=5, d10=6, d12=7)

We're about in the middle of book 2 of the AP. I'll post a story recap of what's happened so far once we know if anyone else is joining us.

Tronar looks good. Not sure how much use you'll get out of the mount, nobody else has one as this is mainly an urban campaign.

Working on good ways to introduce new character(s). Guess we'll see if Emma brings a recruit as well, so we can intro them together. Emma, anyone seem interested? If not, no big deal, we're at four characters again and that'll suffice.


Sorry not posting the last few days. I still have to kind of limit my computer time, because the Fates are cruel. I have not yet. Maybe in the morning. That game is in a pause cause the GM had some event they were going to so maybe no one is checking it.

Sorry I haven't posted all day, had a family event, just got home 5 minutes ago.

Tronar, do you have a backstory in mind? If not, here's a recap of what's happened in the campaign so far, maybe it'll give you some ideas. Not going to list absolutely everything that has happened, just the important stuff.

The story opens in Korvosa, the largest city state in the nation of Varisia. The king is ill, which is causing tension because he's been so for weeks and no magic seems capable of saving him, so rumors of plots and conspiracy abound.

Several people come together on an entirely unrelated errand, however. Each of them was wronged in some way by a crimelord named Gaedren Lamm, whose sins include theft, murder, dealing drugs, and abducting children to use as slave labor. The party is drawn together by a fortune teller named Zellara Esmeranda, who lost her son to Lamm, and has gathered them because she now knows his location. The party storms his lair, defeats his henchmen, frees several captive children, and finally kill Lamm himself. Going through his effects, they find two items of note. The first is a very fancy brooch that belonged to Korvosa's young Queen Ileosa and was stolen from a repair shop. The second is none other than Zellara's head; it turns out that Lamm had killed her, but her spirit could not rest and possessed her Harrow Deck, which can use illusions to appear as she did in life. She senses some horrible danger to Korvosa, and cannot move on until it is dealt with.

As they leave Lamm's lair, the party realizes that the streets are now in an uproar; the king is dead, and Ileosa (often thought of as a pretty airhead at best, and a scheming gold-digger at worst) now rules the city. Several days of riots and unrest follow, during which the adventurers rescue a wealthy man named Vencarlo Orisini from some thugs, and he promises to return the favor someday. They also decide to return the stolen brooch, and the queen sweetly takes time out of her busy schedule to thank them personally and hopes they will continue to help bring order back to the city. Since they are interested in doing so, they are directed to a fortress called Citadel Volshyenek where they meet Field Marshall Cressida Kroft, who hires them on a freelance basis for generous payouts to help deal with problems, as the guards are stretched thin keeping order.

The missions include dealing with a blackmail plot involving a foreign ambassador, investigating an AWOL guardsman who is running a shady butcher's shop, and retrieving the bones of a Shoanti tribal leader's son from a necromancer named Rolth (who happens to be Lamm's son). But most interestingly, they wind up involved in the investigation surrounding the king's death. Ileosa has announced that what was mistaken for a disease was actually a case of poisoning at the hands of a fetching young artist named Trinia Sabor, who had been hired to paint the king's portrait. Cressida finds this story fishy; the only evidence given against Trinia came from a witness who mysteriously died before the truth of their claims could be ascertained, and the queen stands to gain from having a suspect caught and executed quickly, as it will help end rumors that she herself had a hand in the king's death and stabilize her reign. Cressida has figured out where Trinia's hiding, but can't send the city guard, as she doesn't know who would squeal to the palace. She hires the PCs to catch Trinia themselves (which they do after a rooftop chase), and smuggle her to a safehouse to be questioned in secret.

The next day however, word comes down from the palace that Trinia has been captured, tried, convicted, and is soon to be executed. The party would quite like to know what the hell, and ask Cressida, who they find arguing with Vencarlo, who it turns out is an old friend of hers and is the one keeping Trinia safe until she can be smuggled out of the city. They tail Vencarlo and find him acting strange; he steps into his carriage, then steps right back out the other side and slinks into an alley. There a legendary vigilante named Blackjack (think Zorro) who hadn't been seen for years meets "Vencarlo", who turns out to be Trinia magically disguised, and who switched places with the real Vencarlo at the carriage. Turns out the queen has a fake in the cells (she's determined to execute someone), and Trinia wants to turn herself in rather than let someone die in her place. Blackjack convinces her he has a plan and then asks the PCs to help.

On the day of the execution they receive potions and cloaks from Blackjack, with instructions to attend the execution in front of the palace, wear the cloaks, and drink the potions while imagining Trinia's features. At the execution, Ileosa gives a big speech intended to bring closure to the crowd, but they've noticed that "Trinia" is clearly enchanted or drugged into docility, which sours the mood somewhat. Blackjack appears, turns the crowd against the queen, grabs the fake Trinia, and jumps among the PCs, who now all look like Trinia and scatter, allowing everyone to escape. The queen is humiliated, and stomps back into the palace.

Things quiet down a little after that, and the city returns to something approaching normalcy. However, a ship that appears to be from Nidal and carrying plague victims comes up the river, runs a blockade, and is sunk by the city's ballistae. After that people start getting sick with a disease called Blood Veil, which threatens to overwhelm the city. Many blame the ship, called the Direption for causing it. Korvosa is very close to being placed under martial law as the sickness spreads, with a new order of guards who report directly to the queen called Gray Maidens being empowered to keep order and escort officially appointed plague doctors around.

Cressida again appeals to the party for help, wanting them to investigate the wreck of the ship and see if there are any bodies that show signs of Blood Veil. Instead they find a Sea Hag guarding the wreck, and evidence that a priestess of Urgathoa named Andaisin might be responsible, using the ship as a decoy while the plague actually spread by other means. After reporting this to Cressida, the party is followed by a wererat who wants their help putting down a rabble rouser who wants to mobilize other wererats against the city and infect important people with lycanthrope. They take him out, and on the way back find a con-woman selling phony medicine to a crowd in order to take advantage of fear of the disease. They publically call her out, and that night a couple of thugs break in to deliver a stealthy undead assassin while they slept, who they just defeated.

Whew, that took a while. Any questions? Other players, can you think of anything important I left out?

Pearl of Power (2nd)

Searok or Emma take the Cloak +2, and spread those Potions of CMW around.

I'll count the Pearl against a "share" but I view the wand as "party loot," as are the Potions.

So, if that stuff was 33k total (after selling I), and that's exactly 3k divided as "party loot." Which leaves 10k each.

The Pearl is 2k, so I'll take 8k gp.

Whoever takes the cloak should also take 8k gp (the cloak is 2k), and whoever doesn't get the cloak take 10k.

How's that?

GM, am I ok with magicking up my armor and weapon at full cost? You know, finding a vendor and getting it done, as opposed to one of us doing it. As I don't believe any of us have the requisite feats.

So I had chosen dockside avenger as my campaign trait. Therefore a good backstory is that I was casing Gaedren Lamm to find a way to exact revenge, which is how I saw a small band of adventurers accomplish what I, myself, was plotting. Upon seeing Gaedren Lamm killed, I took an interest in following this band around to see / judge their motives.

Most likely I passed my spellcraft check / knowledge arcana to deduce what happened at the execution and agreed with the PCs actions to free the obvious patsy. Now I look for an opportunity to connect with them by going to Cressida Kroft and offering to partner up with her party of adventurers to keep order and balance in city.

Gauntlet of skilled maneuver (disarm): 4k


Shaeda, yes you can find a vendor to upgrade your gear at regular cost.

Tronar, good, that works fine as a backstory. We can RP it as soon as I know for sure whether we're getting another player or not.

5th level feat I apparently never picked is skill focus history so next level I can get eldritch heritage, the Vestige bloodline. I love the idea of the ring she lost and just got back giving a little something. Plus the nineth level call ancestors is really cool and the 15th eternal past is great for knowledge, assuming we get to level 17
