GM Choon |
fate: 1d20 ⇒ 7
Craving - your patrol doesn't take long to turn up wounded enemy troops. And dead ones. Pieces and crushed remains lay strewn about and moans can be heard from the rubble along with other attempts to get free of the disaster.
Something else almost immediately grabs your attention. A figure standing atop the rubble, but not easy to make out. It's easily 15 feet tall and standing at attention with a huge greatsword resting tip down in front of it like a huge statute. But it was invisible where the dust had not covered it, forming a kind of visual confusion as your mind tries to see what it isn't totally convinced is there. It doesn't seem to be moving.

Stood and looked around.
There was a reason her commander hated her, a reason a lot of officers would not work with her. It was not that she was evil or good, complainant or useless at her job. She had been one of the highest scoring cadets the corps had ever had. She had been told by a commander when she had asked why her troop squad did not like her.
"Evil and sadism they can deal with, even incompatible but what they hate about you Onyx is your utter indifference they find hard. You them die and show no feeling at all. In that construct mind of your they are just things to be calculated. I don't expect you to understand, you would need to FEEL to do so"
She had not understood but, She thought about that now looking at the shattered flesh and bone. The Crushed bodies, some still alive, sound of pain and hurt coming from them. She had been told this was fear, but she could not understand that.
A small army had faced them here and to win she had bashed the hole place down. That was all that mattered, to win and move on.
:"If your not trapped, help the others out who are, any Enemy you see kill on site. Keep away from the big thing for now until everyone is out and we have this place secure. Then make for it."::
She moved over to some trapped enemy troopers. She some blasts and she sucks mana life from them before killing them with out a taught. Now with some health back she went to find any trapped from her team.
Persecution 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Gigantos Mutatus |
GM, what's the DC to escape?
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Strength: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
As he once more applied the steady strength he was known for, Bustik started making headway before a sharp rock hit the exposed portion of his neck, giving it a small nick. Ignoring the wound for the moment, along with all of the others, including what he believed to be a sprained ankle and twisted knee, he lashed out with a meaty fist, dislodging a pile of rocks directly overhead and allowing fresh air to wash over his face.
::Should be out soon, was under more rocks that initially believed:: he sent out as his hands grabbed along the rim of the small hole he made and pushed up and outwards.
Daimargh |
rd 1 STR check: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (3) + 0 = 3 never made a check the first round, whoops.
damage, avalance rd 1: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Daimargh kept struggling with his pick, chiseling his way up, hopefully. After about a minute he stopped, catching his breath, and ensured that everyone else was still conscious. Then, he threw his back into the work again, swinging the pick as hard as he can while continuing to free himself.
rd 2 STR attempt: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2 OK, this might take a while...
Davor Modius |
::"Daimargh, there is a fraction of us that jumped into Adept's Dimensional Room during the collapse which includes Adept. He is currently clearing out debris with what appears to be teleport and moving it neatly into the room here. Once we or the others dig you out, we may want to access everyone's health and heal those in need."::
Davor focuses in on Adept, "Adept, do you need me to restore you from exhaustion so you can go longer? That is the only way I can help since I have yet to tap into the Warp or Telekinesis Spheres."
The Craving |
Craven chimes in on the telepathic link, affecting the mental voice as his old man form. ::Sawrry boys, but I'm itchin' to hit this thing. If it's mad, I'll try to lead it away. No promises.:: He dispatches a few more near-dead soldiers as he walks clockwise around the invisible, immobile, giant figure. He finds a spot on the ground, a few paces back, and taps his wand before slamming his fist into the ground. A surge of rippling debris travels from Craven to his target as he attempts to grab its attention.
Use Magic Device vs DC 20: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Craven walks until the invisible creature his between himself and where his allies are unearthing themselves. He is thirty feet away from it when he performs seismic surge.
Bludgeoning Damage: 6d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 3, 4, 6) = 24
Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
DC 18 Reflex halves the damage. If it fails its save, then it is subject to the trip attempt. Finally, all ground between myself and the target is difficult terrain for 1 minute before returning to normal. I imagine it was difficult terrain before, though. :-P
Onyx. |
Craving + his player, this is an action that looks very much like a PvP on the party as a whole here, a 'Leroy Jenkins' move. Players have PCs trapped and the GM dropped a big hint about something big stamping on them. I am asking that you wait until the rest of the party is ready
As he sends his message and sees what Craving is seeking to do, she points her arm cannon his way.
and hopefully stops him before its to late
She sends an argent thought back to him.
::Craving STOP!! If you activate that thing while our comrades are still trapped it will most likely seek to kill them where they are barred. There is no leading it away, do you want them to die berried Caving? If so you will be fighting it AND me, you can see what I can do, so stop and think"::
If he dose not stop that action, I am taking this as Craving going PvP on the party as a whole.
As he casts his spell she hits him with three 20' are affect Blasts. That will do 15d6+15 DMG on him, minimal is 30, If she rolls all 1's just so you know.
::"I am sorry Craving may have doomed you, he was seeking to awaken a kind of giant statue here. I suspect it is like the one we meet before. The one I was able to blow up, if this one dose the same then I am sorry there will be no servings this."::
GM Choon |
Craving darts into the distance and rends the earth with his power. The ground ripples and breaks even more than it was and several muffled screams trek the fate of tapped enemy soldiers. The wave impacts the thing and... Nothing.
At first. A full ten seconds pass before it starts to move. It's first act, a wave of force as intence light jumps into it's eyes! It's chest ignites in a torrent of searing flame! Everyone on the surface, as well as the first foot or so of rubble, are blown a dozen or more feet back as a monster of invisible masd and flame raises its colossal sword.
We have entered combat rounds.
Cue boss music. Hold onto your butts.
It is still technically invisible but it's fire reduces the miss chance to 20% as you aren't completely sure of its exact form.
Surfacers are blown back to a range of 35 feet and take blugeoning damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 1) = 6 and force damage: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 6) = 15
Buried people you may make another check to get free at a +4 bonus due to the to layer of rubble getting blown back.
Even at a range of 35 feet you can feel this things heat. Approaching to melee is probably going to get... Uncomfortable.
Party UP!
6d20 ⇒ (7, 2, 1, 4, 18, 14) = 46
The Craving |
Fairly certain you fall under the 'buried' category.

Retro action
Seeing Craving move off down the Church space, she tried to see what he was up to.
What's he casting?
Spell Craft 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
She tried to work out,
He cast, the ground shock then nothing.
She stared to move his way when the shock wave hit her.
Not again went throw her mind as she went flying back. The shock wave stripping away the health she just stolen, she did her best to stay up right.
Acrobatics 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
She spun around, doing her best to land on one nee.
Then she looked back she, seeing flame and something.
Then looked around fast she looked up at the Church walls, the tops now jagged where the roof used to be.
She moved away from Craving and what ever he was dealing with down the other side of the large Church space.
She wanted to be somewhere, she could see what was going on and out of range of what ever was sending shock waves out.
Energy Leap 1SP, move upto 640' to a wall of the church high, and with a clear root out.
Once she landed she sent.
"What ever your facing Craving you will have to deal with it until the others are out and safe."
Then she goes unto cover with a view of what is going on both sides of the wall.
Stealth 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34 well thats good.
Davor Modius |
Reflex Check: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 10 + 4 = 31
Davor rolls, jumps, dodges, and runs to avoid the debris being collected into the extradimensional room. When it is clear for Davor to jump out, he will.
The Craving |
"Hey, ugly! Yer looks are so bad my eyes won't let me see ya!" Craven shouts before beginning to cast enlarge person upon himself. Hopefully that thing's not in a hurry to get over here, he hopes.
Just casting enlarge person this turn, which will finish at the beginning of my next one.
Gigantos Mutatus |
As Bustik watched Craving move behind the strange, invisible being and attack it, he barely had time to say "Why me?" in a monotone voice before being blown back in a wave of heat and pressure. Picking himself back up, he shook off the debris before looking back. "Let us match size for size," he declared before his free hand moving in strange patterns, his voice gaining a strange echo. Slowly at first, then speeding up, Bustik grew in size, finally reaching the size of a small, full-blooded giant.
GM Choon |
fate: 1d20 ⇒ 8
The monster roars, but it comes out sounding like an overheated blast furnace. It turns toward craving and starts walking.
It is quickly closing to melee with craving.
Craving, the heat is rising at an alarming pace. You are now certain that this thing cannot be engaged in melee without risking burns.
Onyx- The entire local force had been deployed to the chapel. An entire company of men are now attempting to pull themselves together. They've taken heavy casualties.
-Adept and Davor, you finally manage to dig your way out. Welcome to the rubble.
Party up!
Onyx. |
She looked on, in this battle she had done a level of damage to the Enemy few if any on her side could even get close to. Leveled one side of the keeps fortification killing hundred, then fight into this place and laid wast to what looked like an entire company of Enemy's finest guard troops. She had not done it alone and the ones who had come with her, where now in danger. She felt something odd, something new, concern, that was it concern for the others. She thught on that a moment. Then made her mind up, and sent a message to the group.
::"Looks like we walked into an entire company of troops. What's left of them are are re-grouping outside. Ill try and keep them away."::
She then waited for the troops to amass into a group.
if they do she would hit them with three fast area affect shots.
Mana Siphon (blast type)
RTA 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 Miss target but 30' area, 1d8 ⇒ 3 to see which square it went, . NL [Fort Save DC18] [D4's]
Area affect [-1SP]
Then that powers
Electric Blast (blast type)[+3DMG] Fort Save DC18 [DC21 -3ac*]
You may change the damage type of your destructive blast to electricity. Targets wearing metal armor or primarily comprised of metal suffer a -3 penalty to AC and to saving throws against an electric blast. An electric blast can ignite combustibles, and melt metals with a low melting point, such as lead, gold, copper, silver, or bronze.
Destructive blast as a burst effect centered anywhere within range. This burst has up to a 10 ft radius, + 5 ft per 5 caster levels.
30' across
RTA 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 Miss target but 30' area, 1d8 ⇒ 6 to see which square it went, DMG 5d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4, 4, 5) + 6 = 21 DMG Electricity.
RTA 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18 DMG 5d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5, 4, 5, 6) + 6 = 31 DMG Electricity.
Onyx. |
She will use fire blast not electricity
-:Fire Blast (blast type) [DC18 Fort+Ref]
You may change the damage type of your destructive blast to fire. Targets who take damage from your fire blast must make a Reflex save or catch fire. A burning creature takes 1d6 damage the following round, plus 1d6 per round until the flames are extinguished. Each round the target may make another Reflex save to attempt to extinguish the flames. Rolling on the ground or using a blanket to smother the flames (a full-round action) grants the target a +4 bonus to that round’s saving throw.
The Craving |
What's its speed, GM?
Craven shoots up in size as he completes his spell. He backpedals from the enemy as sparks dance underneath his toes, pulling his crossbow and taking a shot.
Light Crossbow (Large, Hungerborn): 1d20 + 9 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 9 - 1 + 1 = 16

With his newly enlarged form and longer reach, Bustik moved forward against the oppressive heat and gave a great slash against the strange creature.

While Gigantos keeps the fire creature's attention on him, Davor launches a fury barrage of missiles at the "thing"

Davor lets loose with (3) Arrows at the Fiery Thing, one lands deeply in a vital location or what would normally or abnormally be a vital location. The other two miss the creature.
(Arrows -3)
Davor now waits to see if he needs to run, help heal, or fire another volley.
GM Choon |

fire damage, Gigantos: 5d4 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 1, 2) = 10
As attacks start to land the form of the thing takes shape. It looks like a walking suit of armor powered by a small sun!
I think Davor's action is the only one missing.
Daimargh |
As Daimargh stumbles to his feet, he notices the 'thing' coming at them.
"...Damn" he mumbles, before getting his thoughts straight and manifesting a power through the network.
Biofeedback. Everyone gets DR 2/- for 6 minutes.

With the few troops who where outside scatting as they burned she looked back at the fight that was taking place inside the church.

The additional protection from Daimargh couldn't have come at a better time. The red-hot sword connects connects with devastating effect. There is surprisingly little blood, but you soon smell the reason. The insane heat from the thing instantly cauterizes the wound.

"Keep 'im busy, Bustik - I'll be tagging in in a moment!" Craven calls out, not forgetting the telepathic link, but generating constant noise to try to split the golem's focus. He reloads his crossbow and fires another bolt thats likely to be useless while continuing his electric shuffle.
