Arianna groaned as consciousness returned to her. She coughed and spat out some blood. Must have bit my tongue She thought to herself as she rose up to her feet taking a moment to see her surroundings only to notice a group nearby with a light.

She paused for a moment, frozen with indecision on whether or not to approach. She doubted she would be able to make it out of this dark place on her own, but then again would they allow her to join their numbers? Well only one way to find out.. she thought.

With slow strides she began to approach the group in the center of the light trying at first to stay along the collapsed wall in order to ensure she wasn't dealing with a bunch of demons. Soon after she closed her cloak tighter around herself.. "Is everyone alright over here?"

"Those that are alive at least," Zora responds. She stops and stares as Arianna comes closer. "Wait. Is that you, Arianna? What in the world are you doing here?"

Arianna's eyes fell onto Zoranda as the woman spoke and she nodded letting out a sigh of relief. At least there would be one friend down here. "Aye, it's me. Good to see you again." She said walking forward into the midst of the group seeing the injuries among the various group. She wanted to avoid saying too much to reveal who she was to the rest, several of whom were dressed in a manner that suggested holy warriors.

M Goblin Barbarian(Feral Gnasher/ Unchained) 6 Guardian 1

Frustrated, Bitey begins scampering around Zoranda and Arianna's feet. "We get up and go, no time for mouth flapping. It not safe in deep dark. We go now, now, Now!" Bitey whines at Zoranda like a small dog that has to pee.

"Hold on, Bitey," Zora replies, trying to clam the goblin. "Just be quiet and keep your ears open for any strange sounds, okay?" Taking her own advice, Zora takes a moment to see if there are any strange noises nearby.

More comfortable now that she had two people close at hand she knew, Zora turns to the man working on the banner and asks, "So what's the plan? How are we getting out of here?"

"Uhhh..."

Thrall wakes up to find a whole crowd around him. The place seems like a subterranean cave, and there's people already searching for the exit, or so it seems. Looks like he woke up late.

There's the girl who was playing light tricks with the kids, and some others he saw before. There's also... a goblin? "Ok, remember how you feel when others judge you for having orc blood. Don't do the same now."

Actually, the goblin seems to be actively helping people, so he forces himself to cast aside those thoughts. He should be helping as well. Some metres away, a voice with some kind of authority is asking for military, so he goes there to find an elf and some others gathered, planning what to do. "Good. We need some action if we want to get out of here."

"Hello, my name's Thrall, of Iomedae. How can I be of any utility?"

Vigilante Persona RETIRED - killed Queen Ileosa and saved Korvosa.

Ignoring the commotion and discussion behind her Iolaire focuses on the task at hand, Anevia's leg. Humming a soft tune she begins to glow as the patterns on her wings shift and seem to run down her arms and onto Anevia, swirling around the obviously broken leg. Io stays still for more than a minute, the light gradually dimming as the swelling on Anevia's leg slowly reduces itself. When the light finally flickers out Io pushes herself up and offers a hand to get her patient back on her feet too - hoping that the newly healed leg will at least hold her.

Use up today's Nimbus of Vitality on Anevia

"Agree with that" Thrall nods. Looking around a bit, he tries to discern how much work has been done and how much is still waiting. "Have you found anything interesting? The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

Thrall: From the look of those stone coloumns this cavern should be about 100 feet on a side and you are in the approximate center with the rubble filling a good quarter of the space.

Anevia attempts to stand on her leg, but limps almost immediately. It's better, she grimaces, but still wrong... Oww.. I can pick locks and disable traps, but I'm not going to be combat ready any time soon.

Aravashnial seems pleased as people start gathering. We are fortunate, in spite of our injuries. We have seen the Storm King and lived to tell the tale.
Now, we should send a scouting group to check out the area while the wounded remain here. Infantryman, form a squad and scout the area.

Among the fallen rubble and death, youall start to notice a glimmering. Each of you move to a different place and find a brilliant silver scale about the size of a human palm. When you touch it a strong feeling of sadness and resolute determination spreads through you. You instinctively understand that this is a scale of the great fallen dragon Terendelev.

Roll 1d4 and consult the correspondung spoiler below

1:
Cloudwalking: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast levitate. A pillar of roiling clouds rises below the levitating object or creature, growing and shrinking with the target's altitude. This pillar is 5 feet in diameter (regardless of the target's size) and provides concealment (20% miss chance) to any creature or object wholly contained within.

2:
Disguise: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast alter self. While disguised, the target gains a +4 bonus on all Bluff checks made against evil creatures.

3:
Resistance: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast resist elements-but only against electricity or cold.

4:

Sacred Weaponry: Three times per day as a standard action, a scale can be used to cast align weapon, but only to make a weapon lawful or good. Unlike a normal align weapon spell, this effect can be cast on an unarmed strike or natural weapon.

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Balthasar hands the torch off to Vance, then takes another from his pack and lights it. "Thank you, Vance."

Balthasar looks about at those assembled, attempting to assess everyone's strengths and weaknesses, as well as the best way to get everyone out of here. Ideally, they'd send out scouts to check the terrain ahead while the more heavily armed and armored stayed with the wounded. Anevia was in no condition to scout with her leg injured, however, and he wasn't sure if had anyone else who could serve in that role.

"Vance, Thrall, could the two of you stand watch? Keep an eye out for trouble, and alert us at the first opportunity." Looking at the half-elf woman, the fox woman, and the goblin, he said, "I'm afraid I didn't catch your names. Could you tell me what they are, as well as whether or not you have any experience scouting hostile terrain?"

EDIT

Scale: 1d4 ⇒ 1

Balthasar closes his eyes as he picks up the scale, sensing Terendalev's sadness and determination. Kenabres had lost its dragon protector - it was up to others to step up and face the demons now.

Balthasar looks nonplussed at Bitey's sudden howl and charge. He still can't see that far away in the darkness, and has no idea what the goblin was chasing. If it was a giant spider, Bitey stood a good chance of getting eaten.

Balthasar was a soldier. Soldiers were disciplined, and avoided rushing into battle without gaining further intelligence. Along the Worldwound, recklessness resulted in a quick and often brutal death. He didn't know the capabilities of this group - indeed, only a couple looked like they had training. Still, battle was joined, and orders needed to be given.

Shoving the torch in the half-elven woman's direction (Arianna), Balthasar says, "Hold this, provide light for the second line! Thrall, Vance, Iolaire, with me to advance on Bitey's position. The rest of you, stay and protect the wounded. If you have ranged weapons, use them. Move!"

Balthasar then suited actions to words, rushing forward as he hefted his shield and drew out his longsword as he charged, keeping pace with Vance and his torch. Once he could pick out an enemy to attack, he charged and struck at a maggot.

Holding the torch in one hand Arianna cringed at seeing the maggots up so close. Though her instincts told her it might be better to retreat from the onslaught she instead stabbed out at one of the maggots from behind aiming for a vital spot....

With half the maggots downed already, Balthasar says, "Press the attack! Let's finish these creatures!"

He then begins a sword flurry that, while it doesn't land a blow, helps to provide inspiration to those fighting alongside him.

Using Iomedae's Inspiring Sword. All allies within 30 feet gain a +2 sacred bonus on attack rolls, saving throws, and skill checks for 1 round. That does stack with the +2 morale bonus on saving throws against fear effects from my Banner ability.

Aria quickly knocks another arrow and draws back. She hesitates as she sights down the arrow. "I've never fired towards allies before... I can't make a mistake."

If one of the maggots is NOT in melee, attack that one. Else, wait til the rest of the party goes and attack any maggot still surviving.

@Aria: +2 Attack from Balthasar's action. ^^

The warrior types looked like they had the maggots under control - and Serena had no idea how many other threats were down here. As she watched, one of the things she'd been told by the instructors came back to her head.

Listen, girl. Magic alone isn't very useful on the battlefield. You need to account for things like its chances of success and how many times you can use it in a day. Sure, you've got a lot of those beams, but you're not going to use more than one or two before a demon rips your face off - and that assumes you can even hurt the blasted things with it, which is doubtful at its current strength. If you get better, one day you'll be able to throw out about as much magic as you want. Until then, you are the sniper. Your job isn't to try and kill everything - we have warriors for that. Your job isn't to tell others what to do - we have generals for that. The few arrows in your quiver are powerful, but they only matter if they're used at the right time, and you can't shoot them if you wasted them on bad targets. There may be times when you feel useless, but that will pass when you come into your own. Until then, be patient and don't waste power - your job is to be a force multiplier with the right spell at the right time. Some days you won't be necessary - other days, you'll be the difference between victory and defeat. Understanding how to be most effective, and when you'll actually matter, will do more to help the cause than any number of blazing rays. You've got potential, girl - don't waste it on fancy shows that make no difference.

As the memory faded, Serena lowered her hand. From where she was, she expected the warriors to shred the maggots within a few more seconds - all another beam of light would do was waste her power without making much of a difference. Besides, she wasn't all that accurate when foes were engaged in an intense melee. "All right, we're going over here to keep you out of danger. The warriors have the situation under control." she told Aravashnial, guiding the blind elf (and herself) away from the melee.

Active Spell: Light.
Action: Moving away with Aravashnial.

Bitey continues to squeal joyfully as he tries to chomp in to another of the maggots, slimy mucus dripping from between his teeth.

Zora blanches as she watches Bitey actually swallow one of those things, but the situation seems under control in an instant. Moving with the noncombatants, Zora helps Anevia move away as well, though she keeps an eye for any loose creatures coming their way.

The Man. The Myth. The Mask!

The party finishes the maggots off in short order and finds themselves standing in absolutely vile bodily fluids. It reeks to high heaven and looks even worse.
A tunnel is spotted behind the spider. Further searching reveals it to be the only way forward.
Well done! praises Aravashnial. Now let us get out of here. Infantryman, please form a guard. We should be away as soon as we can.
And who says you're in charge, old elf? questions Horace.
Perhaps my experience. You certainly aren't suggesting that you have experience in such matters, are you? Aravashnial replies with a subtle sarcastic tone.
Of course not! Horace spits back, But you are clearly blind! Perhaps someone from the renoun family of Heimran should be calling the shots as he can actually SEE THEM!
Anevia just sighs.

Bitey comes back to Zoranda with a full belly and a pleased expression on his lips. "Why dumbs dumbs fight over who in charge? Obviously Bitey only one here who knows caves. Bitey show way to bright bright sky." And with that, he scampers around looking for a way out again.

"Both of you shut up," Zora hisses while grabbing the back of Bitey's collar to leash him in. "Obviously neither of you are thinking. We already found a magget exploding spider. How many other foul things do you think are down here? Especially when an army of demons is probably directly above us. Your arguing is going to draw every creature down on us."

Finished with those two, Zora looks down at Bitey and shakes her head. "Stay by my side Bitey. None of us know what else may live down here. We should stick in a group like proper nil-dogs."

Finally turning to the group, she sought out the man wearing his banner. She had recognized his flashy display as one of Iomedae and could already feel a dislike for the guy, but she pushed it back for now. "You seem to have some actual experience, so just take the lead. We're all equally in the same boat, so does anyone have issue with that?"
