Glastor suddenly has a brilliant idea (or at least he thinks he does)! 'Follow a Hunch, but Bear the Consequences!' he thinks.

He steps up to the nearest puppet (#1), draws his starknife, and calls out, "By The Song of the Spheres! I shall free you, you poor trapped soul!" With a dramatic flair he slashes at the strings binding the puppet.

With a glint in his eye Fez pulls the slender mirror out of his pocket and with a mischievous glint in his eye he speaks quietly to it, "SCAI, can you initiate Kreighton Shane Practical Joke Protocol IV?"

The quiet voice responds in it's sing-song-voice, "As you request Fez, but instead might I suggest Protocol III for optimal impact?"

Fez nods at the translucent face in the mirror before putting it back in his pocket.

Glastor slashes the strings but they only twaaanng as they are struck, though showing some damage.

Fezier’s illusionary prank brings a large cacophony of laughter from the muffled group of children watching outside. The demon clenches it’s fists and screams to the sky in its shrill voice as it again shrinks another foot in size, ”WHHHHHYYYY?!?! WHY WILL NO ONE TAKE ME SERIOUSLY?!”

Combat Over

With an impressive amount of composure and grace, the five of you easily dismantle the evil tethers and kept these puppets operating. The first fell limp to the ground by a shocking display of practical star-knifing as the last of the strings were severed. Lya was able to trip both of the two calmed puppets and Arxus swiftly coup-de-grace each of their puppet strings.

As the three puppets lay limp and fully intact the theater bubble around you all bursts! Transported back into the Garden of Laughter, the children cheer and applaud you all. "What a great show of how to morally approach such situations! Bravo!" Laktharis, now a puppet standing only 2 feet high is also in the Garden and is still tring to boss people around in a shrill voice, but is ultimately harmless.

Oneol gives you gifts of six well-crafted marionettes and a prop that he uses in some of his other performances, a mithral heavy steel shield.

Now that you have both of the Demon's souls, the final soul to reclaim is that of Valais herself. A thriae seer approaches you in the Garden and leads you to Heaven's Shore. There lies Valais's unresponsive soul. The seer, who is the top half of a human with purple skin and insect wings with the abdomen of a bee, explains. "I am a Hivetender of the empyreal lord Andoletta, Zepha asked me to use my divinations to help locate Valais’s soul. I discovered the Pathfinder’s soul wandering the slopes of Heaven and brought her here to Heaven’s Shore. This soul is badly damaged and has no memories of her former life. In order to heal Valais, the I need you to retrieve a variety of special flowers that I can use to make restorative honey. The batches take a long time, but luckily my next one is almost done. If you find the right flowers I can imbue the honey with soul-healing properties."

To collect these ingredients, I need one Knowledge(Nature or Planes), one Survival or Diplomacy, and one Heal or Perception check. Looking at your modifiers and the ability to aid, not even going to do these.

The thriae finishes the honey and feeds it to the listless soul of Valais, who instantly livens up and regains some of her for her memories. Tearfully "Thank you, thank you so much!"

Aeon Throne : Hell's Masked Rebels

And then the end.
Heading back to the Great Library of Harmonious Scripture, you now face judgment for your mistake and your attempts to reconcile it. Akarah is as happy as before, bobbing alongside you and leading you back to the library. Kitarlo follows as well.

Inside you mind Altha studying the ritual books. He indicates a row of chairs, one for each of you, and motions for you to sit in them.

Altha the Scrivener stands at a podium in the center of circular chamber. The archon addresses the room in a booming voice. “Kitarlo, you are here as an observer, and I expect you to remain quiet and sit patiently until these proceedings have reached their conclusion. As for you, mortals, the time has come to form a proper account of what has happened here. From the evidence I have gathered, it seems most likely that you have come here with noble designs, but good intentions alone are insufficient. Mortals often show a careless disregard for order and a weakness toward evil influence. The halls of this library could not contain the accounts of all of the times that these tendencies have lead to ruin, from the scale of individual souls of the scales of nations and beyond. On your world, Golarion, mortal sins share some of the blame for the recent surge in fiendish incursions, from the creation of the Worldwound to the fall of Cheliax under devilish influence to the growing strength of qlippoth forces in Tianjing. A soul that seeks righteousness should remain ever wary of the costs and effects of its actions. And so, to that end, I ask of you: what have been your actions since you first arrived in Heaven?”

Each of you must make a diplomacy check to retell the 5 stages of your journey: The Gates of Heaven, The Purification Ritual(+4), The Hunt for Ammach(+4), Defeating the King of Strings, and Healing Valais(+4). The order here is important: the stories must be told in chronological order, a success gives a +2 bonus to every roll thereafter, and the (+4)'s noted above shows additional bonuses earned for those sections. So, balance your strengths and weaknesses wisely.

since each of us must take one... Grippli should probably go first, followed by Lya, Arxus, Glastor and finally Fezier.
Lya stands calmly with her banner and glaive while waiting for Grippli to begin.

"Altha, worthy scrivener, Grippli will tell you his tale. Grippli and and my erstwhile companion, Pig here, were tasked with journeying to this most august and splendid realm. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by, I believe they were Hound Archons. Most trustworthy fellows; very capable in their task. After Grippli explained to them that our mission was one of peace and reformation of a beautiful soul, we approached the Gates of Heaven.

"We met a fine feathered friend in an inn. I forget his name as he made that much of an impression upon this one, but his wisdom was appreciated. I enjoyed experiencing the most soft and velvety walls at that inn. Most amazing for these ones! After a quick repast, it was off to the library to accomplish the task set out before us.

"You have a most impressive library. It would do this one proud if he were allowed to experience your writings on the spirit realm. While impressive in its breadth, your library could use some organization, which Grippli finds oddly humorous being that this is a lawful plane and all. Maybe the azatas played a small joke upon you all. Please do not hold them in an ill light for it is there nature.

"We were referenced to find four books which we were told would help in our mission of peace and reformation. Locate these books we did."

As Grippli concludes his telling, Lya picks up the story, eyes shut. delivered as a monotone poem reading

"The Luminous Libram.
The Slates of Klador
Asaru’s Grimoire of the Planes
The Tome of Stars and Moons
Elgar’s Forgotten Compendium
Incunabulum of the Ages

Six tomes of ancient knowledge.
Six ancient rituals of mortification.
A sacrifice from us,
for the cleansing of Valais.

Starvation. Fasting of the body to purify the spirit.
Faith. The test of our convictions and our faith.
Humility. The test of Vanity.
Blood. A test of pain to fuel the purification.
Weakness. The giving of strength to one that needs it.
Charity. The test of one's selflessness."

Lya breathes deep and opens her eyes.
"The ritual complete,
a howling gale did swirl.
One became three, set loose upon Heaven,
our deepest regret..."

Glastor, realizing that it is his turn, bursts out with his story. "So, this kalavakus demon, Laktharis, which is a really bad type of demon, or so I have been told, was in a puppet show. That is to say, he was a puppet, and was controlling puppets. Which would have been really neat, if he wasn't a nasty demon trying to corrupt Heaven and all.

"So, we were told that if we humiliated him, making the children watching the show laugh at him, it would diminish his power as the so-called 'King of Strings'. I love making children laugh, so I thought that this would be a really fun way to defeat a big nasty poopy-head demon!"

Glastor pauses a moment, to take a breath. He seems to be controlling his excitement for the moment.

"So, we went into the marionette show, which is something I have never done. I mean I have seen marionette shows, and once or twice helped out giving one, but I have never been in a show like that! So many wonderful interesting things that I have been able to experience here! It is so sad that the experience had to be tainted by the demons escaping from poor Valais and causing problems around here.

"So, as I was saying, we went into the show, and started to act with the King of Strings, even though Fezier was not amused by the prospect. So, when we were there, Grippli summoned up a tiny storm to surround Laktharis, which made it harder for him to see us, but not for us to see him! That was SO NEAT!

"Then, Lya quoted her scripture, and tried to make it so that we couldn't see Arxus, and the kids loved it!

"The demon then got really mad, and started having a temper tantrum! The kids laughed at that as well! He tried to punch Grippli, but little guy deftly avoided the blow. Then, the King of Strings threw a net at Lya, which didn't work, and he got a thwack in the shins for the attempt.

"I then tried to free one of the poor enslaved puppets. I went 'RAWR' like an ogre because ogres are good fighters and I tried to cut its strings, thinking that would free it, but oh boy were those strings tough!

"Then, the most funny thing of all happened! Fezier showed that he had a sense of humor, and created this great big pink Fart-i-fly out of the backside of the demon! I almost fell to the floor laughing, but this really got the demon all upset, and he started shrinking!

"Then, Arxus started mocking the demon, prancing around like a clown! Who would have thought he had it in him! Lya finally finished off the silly little demon, and then we spent a lot of time trying to cut the puppets down. Oh, yeah, and before that, Grippli tried to get the demon and puppets to 'chill out, dude', which they did."

Still bouncing, Glastor finishes by pulling out the marionette that Oneol gave them, and says, "And when we came out, the mighty kalaverkus demon was there, but still in his puppet form, and even shorter than Grippli here. His voice was high and squeaky and fun, and we got these as gifts for what we did!"

"Oh joy," mutters Fez.

Fez produces the most grandiose, three-ring-circus barker voice he can muster. "At this point am I supposed to tell you that we healed Valias by capturing the souls of two demons and mixing them with..." Fez clears his throat"...flowers...and..." at this point Fez's voice turns to full indignant. "...honey kisses! Sure, there's my story, we kissed her boo-boo and she's fine now. At least that's what I'm supposed to believe. Hells, I'm still not sure she's cured - a smile and a thank you can be faked as well as I could stand here and tell you of noble intentions.

Fez shakes his head, "You gather we are here for noble designs. I'm not sure why you'd think that. As far as I can gather, there would be no reason to send somebody like myself onto the shores of Heaven itself without knowing that I'd do the right thing should Valias not be cured of her demonic taint. She murdered friends of mine, and for that I was not here to cure her, I was here to follow the instructions of my Venture Officers by exploring, reporting, and cooperating; not by following some invisible rules you're now judging us on without giving us the handbook first. We were invited here under the instructions of Kitarlo and you judge us?"

Fez's face grows much longer."What kind of lawful society would do that? We come here, follow your rules, have an honest-to-goodness accident on your terms, and expect us to cow before you now? That kind of trickery and backstabbing is more the domain of Asmodeus than I'd expect to find here in the land of so-called good. You know what, you can take your holier than thou attitude and shove it up that bright sunbeam filled behind of yours."

Fez crosses his arm and waits for whatever judgement befalls them. "You may find my choice of words unworthy, but at least I'm honest about them, and myself."

Altha gives Fez an eye, but turns to you all "I did not expect this, but I am impressed by the story and am marveled by the resiliency Valais has demonstrated. Please, dear, come with me to the peak of Heaven’s mountain. We will enter the Garden where your spirit and body can be truly restored."

Turning back to all of you before the two depart, "You are free to return to Heaven’s Shore with Kitarlo." Then Altha and Valais' spirit vanish.

Kitarlo takes you back down to the Shores of Heaven to speak with Zepha. The Archon is delighted to hear that Valais has been successfully restored. He apologizes that the situation ended up being so complicated, and offers his hospitality to any who may wish to stay a while longer to enjoy Heaven’s Shore.

As each of you become ready to depart in your own time, Kitarlo uses plane shift to transport you back to Absalom. If anyone inquires, Kitarlo will openly tell you that the information he found in the Great Library of Harmonious Scripture holds several strong leads for ways to restore his arm.

One week after you last saw her, Valais returns from the Garden with her body and mind fully restored. She tracks down each of you individually, either in Heaven's Shore or Absalom, and explains that her meditation and experience in the Garden imbued her with a fragment of heavenly essence. You can tell as much, as she is now an aasimar with radiant gold hair. She thanks you profusely for finally restoring her mind to normal. " I promise to repay you someday in the future, I will never forget this."

The end! Congrats and well done, full success.
