Same - Barkot has another flask of alchemist’s fire, another flask of acid, and two of alkali, so I think he’s in good shape to keep fighting.

A torch used as a melee weapon inflicts 1 point of fire damage.

If you drop it in, I'll probably have it do a point of damage, but I would also have them smother it.

Okay, so Reillana will run around healing anyone she can while the rest of you deal damage. She used up her scrolls of Burning Hands though so her offensive options are nil.

Would her Inspire Courage ability boost the damage of alchemical weapons?

Even if it doesn't, it would help with attack rolls. Considering Squint and Barkot have three misses between them so far...

If acid splash isn’t going to be effective, then Squint and Ulyi are going to GTFO.

If Acid "Splash" actually splashed acid, it would be very useful for a swarm. Unfortunately, the spell creates a tiny orb of acid that hurtles at a single target.

It would certainly be useful if someone had a large amount of lamp oil to pour on these guys.

BTW: I forgot to add the +50% to Paeral's successful hits. I'll add that in right now. So, things aren't quite so bad (but still pretty bad)

Barkot still has one vial of alchemist's fire and two alkali flasks. He is also unable to hit the broadside of a barn even with Bless cancelling out the penalty from his Dex damage. If nothing else, we could move out of the room to heal and redistribute the splash weapons.

Squint always considers retreat as a good option.

Added a red W to the map where I think Barkot dropped his wand of bless. He may not be able to pick it up before the temporary retreat, but we’ll be back shortly and I don’t want to lose track of it (and if anyone else has a spare move action to pick it up along the way...).

I just dropped them 5. I'm with you guys whatever you decide. Can we not take them with torches? Some of us have some hp left and Rei is itching to heal someone.

I estimate they have 3 hps left now.

Does it seem reasonable to you guys that a torch would be re-lightable after being suffocated? I admit to having no real world experience with torches, and the topic does not seem to be addressed anywhere.

It doesn't sound completely off the wall. It isn't like it got doused in water or anything that would remove the remaining oil, and it certainly hasn't had time to evaporate.

Anyone deal with this in a game before?

I have real life experiences with torches. Not only do we do Oktoberfest, we also have a barbarian festival. Oktoberfest pales in comparison. Yeah if you can put it out, which is not easy, you can reignite irl.

@GM, you should make some torches irl. I know you went camping recently. You will enjoy it. Kerosene is a good fuel, imo. Many how-tos on the net. Don't plan on being too successful on the first try or two.

On that note, awesome firestarter:

Save some old egg cartons (not Styrofoam-old school card board).
Save some dryer lint.
Save the remains of candles that did not burn (or get some wax).

Put lint in egg cartons where eggs go. Pack but not too tightly.
Heat up wax to liquid and pour into egg receptacles over lint.
As the lint soaks up wax, add more.
Allow to cool. Remove your fire starter.
Toss it in with your tender and anything will go to blaze.

A while back, I read about mixing dryer lint with Vaseline as a firestarter as well. Probably wouldn't smell too good, but I'm sure it would go up quickly.

At one of the barbarian festivals, I was asked to buy a bunch of beer and Vaseline on my way in. The checkout girl sounded like she wanted to join us at that point. The torch was made with cotton from old clothing and Vaseline. iirc, did not perform as anticipated. Should have invited that checkout girl to join us in hindsight. The above recipe is the way to go. I have used it regularly for years. Produces a 6-12" flame for a very long time.

If you break a tooth and have an exposed nerve, Vaseline will get you to the dentist. I have no other use for it do I? Don't think I have any on hand. K1, on hand at all times. My primary source of heat.

@GM It is not coated in wax as a flint and steel would not light that. Evaporation is not faster than flaming. Your rulings work in game play. All good.

Yes, I remember that you were holding a torch.

You would have had to drop the torch before moving in order to draw a two handed weapon while moving.

Since the skeleton was 25 feet away from where you started, he was in dim light when you took your swing. Either that or you took a move action to draw the weapon after moving.

Regardless, I didn't think of it until afterwards, so no penalty to you.

It only makes me sad that Luckless wasn't able to continue. He is the one who brought us all together in the first place, after all.

Agreed, GM - I hope Luckless is all right. It seemed as though he just got too busy to keep up his games.

And Deric, definitely glad to have you in the party. Keep tanking this effectively and Barkot will be able to sell his chainmail and go back to being more of the backup rogue I planned him to be.

Finally, I would be delighted to meet up at a con some time! I think we'll be able to keep going to Gen Con most years. As for PaizoCon, much as my wife and I would like to go, we may not make it until 2023, the year after our son graduates from high school - our school year isn't over until mid-June, so Memorial Day weekend for him is all about studying for finals, with my wife and me looming over him menacingly.

I'm not generally a CON type of person, but I could make an exception...

The real trouble is getting time off and a hall pass from the wife (who would have less than zero interest).

Hmmmm... She's been looking to go back to Cleveland for the hall of fames... that is only a couple of hours away from Indianapolis (I think). Probably not 2020, but I'll keep that in the back of my mind.

I'd like to prepare our group for my upcoming trip and likely temporary absence from our game. I'll be headed out on our family holiday trip next Wednesday 11 December, and won't return home until 2 January 2020.

Yes, I believe it would add +2 to your CMD in this circumstance, but that doesn't change the result. If you think there is some reason the Pull should be opposed by a Ride check instead of your CMD, I will listen.
