Chwaer is unprepared for Storn to run past her. She curses and runs up to join him, "that's the plan?! Antagonize them and then wait for them to pound us?!" She taps her axe against her buckler and watches the trolls and giant, trying to appear unassuming next to the larger Warpriest.
The trolls rushed Storn, braving his weapons to get in close and smash the wearer of that horrible breastplate. The warpriest took a hit from a claw, but he stood his ground. Chwaer, having rushed out in front, found herself facing the giant alone, and his greataxe swept down, slicing through robes and armor.
If Storn is wielding the lance, he can take an AoO at his target of choice.

Chwaer is about to slide up to join Storn when she hears Sander call out and watches a bomb fly over her head. She lifts her shield to hopefully deflect any splash and stays where she is, swinging her axe at the troll's leg.
Storn laid into the trill in front of him with the longspear, driving the blade in deep and holding the troll in place long enough for Quill to send a pair of arrow into the creature, which tumbled backwards. Quill adjusted his aim on the third shot and sent it into the other troll. It staggered, then again as Chwaer started hacking at its leg like she was trying to fell a tree. Sander threw his grenade, and it bounced off Chwaer's raised shield to land behind the troll, its fuse hissing away.
The troll lashed out at Storn, and the big man took a heavy claw swipe, but managed to fend off the other blows. The giant lashed out at Chwaer, who ducked uder the blade and rolled up under the giant's legs. The great beast spun in place, looking for the agile dwarf, who was trying desperately not to look straight upward under the giant's loincloth!
Chwaer gasps as she sees what the giant is packing and decides that might be the best way to cut him down to size. She jams the axe straight up and slices side to side.

Roaring with delight, Storn takes a sidestep. "Pour some acid on that one that's down!" He twists his mega-spear into place and goes stabbity at the troll between him and Chwaer.
Storn thrust his spear into the vitals of the remaining troll, then twisted, opening a gaping wound that the troll's regenerative powers wouldn't be closing quickly. The troll collapsed, leaving Sander a clear shot at the giant. The bag flew accurately, splashing on the giant and missing Chwaer. The giant burst into flames, which dripped down around the mouser in streaming blue and yellow blobs. In its panic, it caught Molly's eye, flinching away at the darkness of spirit it saw there. Quill managed to land a shot, but it was the newcomer who landed the killing blow. Chwaer slashed her battleaxe straight up between the giant's legs, catching it a blow that severed the giant's femoral artery. She dove to the side to avoid both the falling giant and the splashes of blood that fountained out of the wound.
In mere moments you had defeated foes that would have seemed an impossible task a few months ago. You are getting stronger, and learning to work together to take down horrific foes.
The trolls themselves lie on the floor their wounds slowly sealing up, thanks to their regenerative powers. The real question now is, do you have any more acid?

"Hold on," Sander says, "the bomb should go off any second!"
I say we wait (maybe stab 'em once more) and the orc bomb should do the fire damage to take them out. Or are these ones we need acid again? If so, I still have three flasks.

Quill will put away his bow and draw his <<checks char sheet because completely forgot what other weapon he might have>> masterwork dagger, ready to coup de jerk the trolls should they look like they are returning to life.
"C'mon...bomb...blow!" Quill says, holding his little knife tentatively as if he really doesn't want to use it.
Storn lets out an approving roar as the giant and trolls go down. He gives Chwaer an approving nod. "I think we're gonna kill a lot of giants together."
Storn waits patiently for someone to acid the trolls. "If we don't have acid get that ant haul thing on me and I can just carry them into the sun."

Quill, thinking that no one has easy acid, begins to gut the trolls, coup de jerking them to death. In theory, regeneration does not prevent death from suffocation, so a good beheading should do the trick.
Though he wonders why Storn doesn’t do some beheading, Quill coup de jerks away one of the trolls until it’s head lolls free.

"I have acid!" Sander says in exasperation.
He proceeds to split a vial between the two trolls, ending their lives. They'd do the same to him, he knows, if not worse.
Once everyone's ready, he hands out extracts, giving Storn draughts of ant haul, enlarge and fly, as well as invisibility, while he, Quinn and Chwaer split another potion of invisibility and alchemical allocations.

With Storn enlarged, flying and invisible, it was a mater of only a few minutes to fly from the caves of the Dark Passage to the Cathedral of Minderhal. He easily flew over the palisades with no giant the wiser, and set down near the rear of the building, next to the doors that Molly pointed out.
Quill Wand of CLW: 24/50 (6612) HP 57; AC 21 (23vgiants)/15/16; F+8,R+8,W+11;Init +5; Perc +18;Kn Eng+5; Rel+12,SenseMot+7,Spllcrft +13;Surv +14
Quill tries not to make too much noise as the party lands near the doors. Yet, he feels the need to say something after that very uncomfortable ride. He spends several moments trying to get his underlinens out from his bottom crack.
”Storn, did you *have* to hoist me by *that* particular item of clothing!” Quill grumbles in a higher than usual tone. He glares at Storn invisibility, not wanting to break the spell just to show his displeasure.
He looks at the door, ready to move in if it looks safe.
As Storn gives Quill the greatest or perhaps worst wedgie of his life, he ascends into the airs. The glory of the mountains spreads out before him as he leaves the ground for the first time in his life. Little critters/companions cling over him. He thinks he stuck someone in a bag. It doesn't matter. This is beautiful. Glorious.
Finally, he descends to the ground to a spot that looks relatively secluded. He releases Quill from his atomic wedgie and lets out a peaceful sigh as he comes back into sight.
"That was amazing. I have a new outlook on life. All of the valley stretched before me. Even the giants were tiny. It humbles a man."
Smiling, he detaches the spear from his back which, while enlarged, it about the size of a small house. "Let's go kill everything here."
Storn waits for Chwaer to check out the door, assuming that because she's shorter than him she's probably good at traps. After that's done he yanks it open and stomps in.
Everybody indicated they were ready and Storn opened the door with the stealth and tact he was known for. The doors slammed open to reveal a large round chamber that had obviously been converted to a barracks of some kind. Most of the beds were empty, but the sound of the doors rebounding off the stone walls woke the three giants sleeping in there. Groggily they sat up and rubbed their eyes, not quite prepared for the storm that had come upon them.
Chwaer wonders what the giants will think about all the noise without any visible source, I hope they can't see us. She moves quickly toward he giant in the back, setting up near the foot of its bed, ready to attack if given the opportunity.
Double Move to CA 20. Stealth +Invis:1d20 + 19 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 19 + 20 = 49
Storn has absolutely no idea where anyone is. Being both a wiseman and an idiot, he waits long enough for everyone to get into position before he gets to stabbing.
"WAKEY WAKEY EGGS AND BACEY!"
Mega-Storn appears, looking appropriately giantish before stabbing the nearest giant lots of times.
Everyone moved in different directions. Well, almost everyone. Molly actually bumped into Quill and the two of them nearly tumbled to the ground before grabbing and steadying each other.
With his voice raised by his stature, Storn roared his challenge to the giants and thrust his spear into the nearest sleeping figure. The giant roared in pain and leaped to his feet, grabbing up the tree-trunk club laying beside him. He thrust the club forward in a straight jab that blasted past Storn's defenses and knocked the air out of him. The other two giants also came to their feet, rushing towards the lone invader.
Chwaer buried her axe in a giant's leg as he rose, and in return the giant smacked her on the head with hs club. Stars flashed in the dwarf's eyes as she tried to blink away the pain.

I'm heading to PaizoCon this coming weekend, leaving Thursday afternoon and not getting back until Tuesday night. I don't expect to be posting in that time.
Just wanted to eay a few things
1) thanks for letting me in to the group. IT is fun to play agian
2) The reason I keep throwing things to other people and asking what they think or something like that is that I have played in games (in RL & PbP) where a person just takes over doing all the rolling and all the planning & making everyone else just tag along. I am attempting to not be that guy because it never felt fun for any one else in the game and it caused the game to break down.
101) lists need 3 things on them at least
4) a computer nerd would get the last one
5) In about 2 or 3 weeks my posting will actually slow down as I start a new job, so just wanted to give you all a heads up on that one.
Quill: Dont take Kipa's actions as anything other then some one who sees some one going through things he has been through before & trying to help. I am not trying to make Kipa the default leader or ordering people around. I just have him seeing some one like how he was and trying to reach out & help is all. I orginally planned on making him a typical halfling that likes to talk and take things but he is turing into more of a Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly type: Long war vet who tries to be tough & hide the crap he has been through.

OK, let's cement the plan:
We wait through the night and until tomorrow after dusk so we can recover resources (hiding during this period), then try to sneak into the castle, climbing over the wall on the west side.
IMO, if we have silence, we don't necessarily need Storn and Dieter to take off their armor, though they'll obviously move more easily without it (and if we need to worry about them climbing, better to have that done before than later).
Sander can use his extracts to give them both invisibility, though obscuring mist might work better overall and save the extracts
Once we're over the wall, we look for the secret entrance Calrianne told us about in the moat.
Once we're inside, the plan will go to hell anyway, but we'll look for Greseldek and kill her, and hopefully free the prisoners (maybe not in that order, as hopefully they can help us). We can maybe try to blow up the bridge and then maybe the dam to help prevent pursuit when we run away escape afterward.
Male HP 62, AC 19, Touch 14, FF 16, F9/R11/W5, CMD 19 Halfling alchemist 10
Oh, also forgot to ask. During the day of hiding, do I have the ability to craft a potion? I wanted to doublecheck the price, but I'm pretty sure I have the gold just nowhere to buy the actual materials (so sort of the same problem that we handwaved on the boat).
If so, I'll whip up a potion of invisibility. (Unless someone wants to suggest another option.)
Guys, I am sorry about the delays. RL has backhanded me int he face with an armored gauntlet this week. Regular posts incoming starting tomorrow (hopefully).

Hello, everyone!
My apologies for being incommunicado this week. It was unplanned and unintended.
We went on a cruise to Alaska. It was wonderful! We spent a week exploring the Inside Passage and visited Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria. I wanted to be prepared, and took steps to ensure I could continue posting before we left. The cruise line offered on-ship Wi-Fi. I paid for it for the whole week. I also checked with T-Mobile customer service, who assured me that I would have coverage in Juneau and Victoria.
The Wi-Fi did not work, and I only had emergency reception at every port of call. I could not receive texts, check email, or get on the internet for the entire week.
Again, my apologies for not posting. It was frustrating to have such a technology failure.
At this point, I would say your best bet is to make a back line character. one that stood in the back for support. Like 30 feet away from the action, or maybe back at Trunau. Magnimar?

Storn, if you ever heal someone in combat ever again, Quill is going to take that great sword and show you how to use it.
Leave the healing to the support staff (including Quill who would have gotten it next round)...and you should focus on killing things in combat. Molly, Quill, & Sander all have ways to help Dieter.

Quill's right, however (unless the person is literally going to bleed out that round).
The only reason I didn't use a bomb (or even my sling) is because I figured you were going to just take care of it this round, and even I debated letting Dieter just bleed a little more in case the 1d6 sling could be more effective than some silly elf arrows the difference.

Oh, trust me. My on-deck character is purely ranged. I've been hit by the whomp-stick one too many times.

FYI, I rolled randomly to see if the giant thought that the healing warpriest with the nasty weapon was a better target than the LONE ROGUE LEFT WITHOUT SUPPORT. Luckily for Kipa, I rolled high, as the 47 damage would have decorated the room with his brains.

Uh, yeah. Pretty much what I feared. Not sure what the intent was, but Dieter chose that after Quill's OOC warning.
Another option would be for Quill to retrain into something meleeish, but that would require some rebuild/magic from the GM if you really want to move to ranged, Dieter/NextDieter.

I'm fine leaving it up to Tanner.
That said, I do think we need a second frontliner (I know rogues sort of fill this role, but they're also an odd case at the same time). If Quill wants to do it, I'm OK with that too, but it'll take me a little while to get used to that.
I could also see about transitioning to melee a little more; it'd let my bombs last longer if I were more of a switch-hitter, but I'd need to figure out the best way to go about doing it.

Dieter, have you been smashing mirrors while walking under ladders or something? I have only once seen one player have this much ill fortune in a single AP -- and at least his third character managed to make it to the end before dying of heroic sacrifice.

My apologies for any frustration experienced by anyone. Especially our beloved GM. I know it has become a running joke that my characters are like Kenny from South Park, but in no way am I trying to engage in suicidal behavior. I did not revise my actions during that round because Dieter is primarily a barbarian and it would be true to his character to be rash and impulsive. For the sake of avoiding tension, I would be happy to retcon his actions and say that Dieter stayed on the ground.
For future combat, Dieter will take this near-death experience as a life lesson and focus on protecting our ranged combatants rather than charging to the fore.
You and Bigrin work your stuff out, I hope Dieter sticks around because more Gorumites means more power.
That said I'm considering multiclassing Storn into something with more base attack and hit points like an armored hulk barbarian. Although sweet level 3 spells are calling me next level up.

I'm actually more amused by the Kenny-ness of this all, but that's easy for me to say because it's not my character(s). :) Also, I tend to hate killing PCs as a GM, so seeing this can actually be lethal ironically at the same time adds gravitas for me.
If anything, this is more Storn's fault, for trying to heal you instead of just going and chopping down the bad guy. :)
Speaking of which, Storn, I'm a big believer in doing what you want, but instead of going for more BAB, maybe just prep some divine favors? That'd give you +2/+2 to hit, which would be the equivalent of a +6 BAB (i.e. equivalent to a full BAB character's attack bonus at this point). You've also got access to spells like bull's strength that can boost your attack (and damage) rolls.

I wasn't frustrated. If anything, I was worried you might be!
I shall remain steadfastly warpriest, just had a brief identity crisis. And yeah, I've been double-prepping shields of faith instead because surviving has been a larger concern. While Dieter dies in half our fights, I almost die in every single one and the first-round crit that kills me seems inevitable at this point.
I'll take the point about focusing entirely on self-buff spells though and stay in my lane. I'll leave the utility to the rest of the group.
