Storn practically flew across the second half of the bridge, surprising the giants with his speed and grace. As he approached, Storn threw himself into a slide, going right under the grasping hands of the giants and coming upright behind them. The giants spun to face him, grabbing their greatclubs and pummeling Storn for his audacity. The warpriest's armor buckled under the blows, and he groaned in pain as he had time to wonder if this was such a a good idea...right until a club smashed his nose onto his cheek and making him see stars.
The halflings continued to run across the bridge, but they hadn't even managed to cross the midway point as Storn was assaulted.

Kipa and the lightning elemental ran at full speed, sliding to a stop by the giants just as a pair of arrows flew past and struck the smarter of the two giants. It spun, just in time to see the newcomers, and raised its club at them instead of Storn. He twitched for a moment as Molly's hex hit him square in the heebie-jeebies, but then shook his head and attacked. The lightning elemental took two hits, which sent it back to its home plane, its existence in this world a matter of mere seconds. The other giant continued to swing at Storn, furiously ignoring anything but the target in front of him. Storn fell to the ground in a manner reminiscent of your old friend Dieter, bleeding and bruised after taking another pair of hits from his frenzied attacker.

Storn flopped onto his back, head turned and blood leaking from the corner of his mouth. The rise and fall of his chest suggested he was still alive, for now.
Kipa dodged around the giants' feet, slashing the injured one's achilles tendon. The giant stumbled, but kept its feet, even as another arrow caught it in the chest. The one did the trick, and the smarter of the two giants crashed to the ground at the edge of the bridge, nearly toppling off into the gorge.
The left end of the bridge is now difficult terrain
The remaining giant spun around, looking for something to hit. Its face fell when all is saw was enemies halfway across the bridge. Then, it looked down at Kipa, the rogue standing with a bloody weapon next to its dead friend.
"Henry!" it yelled, almost wailing. Then, the giant's eyes narrowed and he swung at Kipa again and again. Tears blurred its vision and the strikes went wild. Kipa easily dodged them, sweating from the tension of knowing he alone was holding this monster's full attention.
Smart giant is dead.

Sander had an easy time of hitting such a large target, even from a distance. The bombs erupted on the creature, spilling freezing liquid all over it. Fortunately for the giant, it had no problems with the cold. Unfortunately, it now had two enormous circles of frostbite on its chest, which made a perfect target to aim for. Sadly, Quill was only able to land one of his shots, a feat that earned him more ridicule from the bomb-throwing (and highly accurate) Sander. Kipa stabbed it, and Molly rushed it. The only one who was truly ineffective was Storn, who lay on the the ground, no longer bleeding out, but still not contributing meaningfully to the combat.
The giant flailed at Kipa, swinging his massive greatclub at the halfling. Kipa failed to dodge one of the attacks, and it clipped his shoulder, numbing his entire arm and sending him rolling to the ground. The halfling kipped back to his feet, wincing at the wounded shoulder.

The giant danced and jittered from the lightning bolt, then burned as both of Sander's bombs hit home. Its roars of pain were as good as a trumpet call for letting anyone nearby know that something was going on. Then came the light ray and the arrows. Suddenly, Kipa's distracting attacks and jumping movements turned into a full-on desperate dodge as the giant slumped to its knees, and then to the ground. The entire east end of the bridge was blocked by giant bodies, but at least you had won the contest for the bridge. Too bad one of you wasn't conscious to see it.
Huzzah! You win! Too bad Storn's bleeding to death and basically didn't get to participate in the battle other than to shout "For Dieter!" as he ran face first into a swinging tree

Slumping down "Good traveler's shoes that was a battle. Let's get Storn up on his feet quick. I'm going to need a bit after that but he needs it first for sure."
Getting up slowly "Guess I should do what I'm here to do." Kipa starts to go over what the giants had on them. After he starts to look over the area and see if there are any issues they need to be aware of now that the giants are not around.

"Up on your feet, Blood-'n-Guts!" she orders as blood stops flowing and torn flesh knits back together. "We still have need of your might in battle; you can't nip off to play with Gorum yet!"

Sander sighs. "That was close. I thought we were dead for certain that time."
He looks around, sure more giants are on the way.
"We probably shouldn't stay here too long. Let's get Storn back together and get out of here. They were guarding something..."

Sorta forgot that 'stone' giant part of the whole equation.
Storn lets out a groan as his eyes snap open and he looks down at his shattered chest. Without saying much he gallantly assumes the fetal position and cradles his wand like a baby bottle.

Roaring in pain as his body knits itself back together under the healing magic, he finally plants his ludicrously large spear into the ground and gets to his feet.
"I will fight," he mutters before snapping back to his old self, ignoring the fact he almost got himself killed like the big smelly idiot he is. "Gorum smiles upon us! Two more dead giants. Let's see what they were guarding."
Not quite sure what's beyond these guys but onwards! After a quick looting.

Quill hustles after the party as the last giant falls.
"Boy, I sure am good at killing these giants while Storn is taking rocks to the face! That works really well!" Quill approves the strategy that just worked so well. "We should do this more often."
He looks down near where Storn fell, reaching down to pick something up.
"Is that your tooth, Storn?" Quill points while the man heals. "You wanna try to put that back in while you heal? It might take."

Kipa was disgusted as he looked over the bodies. Just some common gemstones. The weapons were just normal tree trunks, and they weren't even wearing armor, just their stone skin! They must have left most of their valuables at a barracks or cave somewhere. Then, he looked closer at the scrap of cloth around the smarter giant's throat. It was big enough to be a cloak for the halfling. And that gemstone pattern on one side...He held out the dirty cloth for inspection, and sure enough it was magical.
The canyon continued on out of sight from the bridge end. A little forward scouting revealed that the rocky landscape began showing signs of being a muddy landscape. Just beyond this, a fork split the valley. Both directions looked equally unappealing as the easy-to-travel stone and soil valley floor turned into a bog.
Following Quill's standard suggestions on direction, Kipa led you down the right-hand path. The warm waters of the peat bog combined with the cold mountain air to generate a low-lying fog. Your sight was reduced to no more than fifty feet or so. The sucking mud made it hard to walk stealthily, despite the cover advantage the fog gave. Still, Kipa's ears picked up the sound of the giant patrol before he saw them, a band of ogres led by a giant. Kipa managed to get back to the others without alerting the giant patrol, telling them what he had seen and heard.

"So we can still hide?" Sander asks hopefully.
Once the others presumably reject that solution, he'll settle in for an ambush, drinking an extract of shield as their enemies get close and offering Storn an extract of enlarge person if he wants it.
How long has it been? Not sure if some of my earlier preparations might still be active.

"Is this one of them xorn capes?" Quill holds up the robe. "Oh, is it a robe? Huh." Quill flaps the garment this way and that, trying to get it sorted out. "It's kind of keen, ain't it?"
Quill already has a pretty keen perception check, does someone else want the robe? Quill isn't likely to be brave enough for much stonewalking, but he might.

Last to hear of the patrol's approach because of his trailing position in the marching order, Quill does hide when the word is passed down to him. He is happy to hide and let the patrol pass, hoping to avoid a fight where he might get brained.

He proceeds to try to find some cover, offering to point out places to Storn where he might be a little less obtrusive.

Sander's shhhh sounded a lot more loudly than he intended, and you could hear from the fog, "Oi, what's that? Did you lot hear that? Sounded like someone making a 'shh' noise. Were we making too much noise?"
"It wasn't us, you fool, someone else is out there. It came from over that way."
A handful of giants moved into sight through the fog. There were four ogres and some kind of giant. Two of the ogres were tossing what looked like a hairy ball back and forth to each other. The giant moved slower than the others, scanning back and forth with her eyes half closed.
These are barbarian ogres, very deadly but not well armored.
This is a mongrel slag giant, showing signs of being a sorceress.
All of you get to act in the surprise round!
