Ninja' by Torvald!

The Inner Sea World Guide is a great guide to Avistan and Garund, but there is nothing (yet) similar to it for all the other (six) continents.

The Pathfinder Wiki has general info: PF Wiki. You could also purchase the Dragon Empires Gazetteer for info on Tian Xia.

I can't recommend reading thru the Inner Sea Guide enough, though. Great stuff there.

As far as where Tusk is from I know, but I don't know. Florida, or rather a place in Glorian that would be the equivalent of Florida since I don't know enough about Glorian or nearly as much about Glorian as I do Pathfinder itself. A place that almost matches Florida's terrain and Florida's weather. If anyone knows of a place suggest it. No I'm not thinking of Disneyworld, but when I created him, I envisioned him from a place like Florida.

So rainy, year-round warm, with some swamps? Possibly filled with snowbirds and retirees? I think Taldor or southern Cheliax might fit the bill, or even the Shackles if those are too civilized for you.

Shackles are more "Caribbean islands" than Florida per se, but it would fit nicely with Tusk's multiple mentions of pirates :p

Just a disclaimer that this is all just role-play in a world where slavery is real. Faenethor's thinking isn't mine :). But it's interesting to see this issue come up between members of Liberty's Edge and the Exchange.

Understood, of course. And it does seem like a natural area of dispute between the factions. Or within them - I have another halfling character who is starting out as a member of the Dark Archive.

Hey everyone, just checking in let you know I will post later tonight. I actually was running my Giant Slayer campaign today and we finished book 2! Um I'd like everyone to post 4 D20 rolls on the discussion thread no modifers . These will be behind the screen rolls for characters. ( don't worry I'd never use these rolls for attacks saves ect...) These rolls are for passive preception checks and other rolls the adventure may have me roll in secret.

How I will work your 4 rolls is: I will roll a 1d4 eliminating one of the rolls. I then will choose the first "pre-roll" I use for a particular character by rolling a D3. The remaining two "pre-rolls" I will determine via odd even flip a coin ect..

Are the Ulfen guards from the LLK side of the border, or the Irrisen side?

success:
They are from the Linnorm Kingdoms

additional info:
they are most likely from a nearby village called "Whiterook"

oh show your roll in game play please

male Snows of Summer

Everyone

please give me 2 perception checks and two sense motive checks for possible future encounters: these are not for this encounter(Ulfen boarder guards) so please don't try to read anything into them. I still have at least one random roll from all of you in play if I need it. So if I use these perception or sense motive rolls; I will cut and paste it and put it into the text I write. These, rolls are not random and will be used in order (as opposed to the secret/random rolls I you all do earlier.) The "pre-rolls are designed to make a couple of encounters flow more easily without me having to interrupt the narrative and ask for rolls.(Which could add days of waiting in a play by post)

please post these rolls into the discussion thread as they are not part of game play until I introduce them..

your thankful GM
Luclesshero :)

That's fine but if a combat situation comes up we'll pause the game for a few days until you return.

The reason is: It is a legal PFS game and the rules state only 1 character per player in a scenario. What you can do in advance and everybody else for that mater is give me about 5-10 fortitude saves each to resist cold weather (the more saves u roll the better) Remember everyone with cold weather outfit will receive a +5 to their rolls; Also temporary bonuses like those given from the spell guidance are inflectional as they only work instantaneously or a minute r less.

Having said that here's a reminder of some of the cold weather rules:Cold and exposure deal nonlethal damage to the victim. A character cannot recover from the damage dealt by a cold environment until she gets out of the cold and warms up again. Once a character has taken an amount of nonlethal damage equal to her total hit points, any further damage from a cold environment is lethal damage.

A character who takes any nonlethal damage from cold or exposure is beset by frostbite or hypothermia (treat her as fatigued). These penalties end when the character recovers the nonlethal damage she took from the cold and exposure.

I will use all your fort saves but reserve the right to randomize the order of your rolls that way a player can't look down the order of his fort saves spot a rolled 2 in the third position and decide on the third hour would be a good time to set up camp and make a fire..

male Snows of Summer

Hey guys...

Just in case one of you runs into it randomly.. I started a fairly controversial thread on slavery in Golarion. The impetus for the thread was of coarse our in game dialogue on the subject.

So, you all know I used a metaphor in poor judgement in the thread that I won't repeat. One of the developers took exception to it, and eventually even though I self edited within an hr. and vehemently apologized. several post that, had quoted my remark were removed. As I mentioned, I had already edited my original post, so they remain. My analogy was labeled racist. Which if you know the origin of the analogy you probably couldn't disagree.

I want you to know if you read that thread, and see the numerous times I apologize; what I'm apologizing for. Basically, I got too cute and clever for my own good and it came back to bite me. I want you to know that just because the word racist was used in connection with something I said, it doesn't make me a racist. I am happily married to someone of Asian descent and have many friends and extended family from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

Anymore defense of my nature, is just going to seem like pleading. I only write this on our discussion board in order to, "call attention to the fact, our campaign may be more scrutinized than others.." so please forgive me for calling any attention. All I really wanted to do was brag what a great RP group I have!

I saw the thread this morning - after your edit. FWIW, I don't see anything wrong with the discussion. Sure, it branched off from where you started, but for that matter, so did Jamir's pontificating about Liberty's Edge! You aren't responsible for someone else being an a&~&$@+ and getting smacked with Chris Lambertz's hammer (and there is an entire long thread in the off-topic forum of people apologizing to her for their various misdeeds).

You made a stupid quip, got called out on it, owned it, edited the post, and apologized. I think that's enough, and most people on the thread in question seem to have accepted that too.

I understand the randomization, but say you fail your third con save. You would be frostbit at the beginning of the fourth hour. So you can set up a campfire after you get frostbitten because your character would know it. I assume the randomization is to prevent metagaming beforehand campfire? Like you campfire on the third hour before you get frostbitten. Just want to clarify that up.

Well, looks like those are all of my halfway decent rolls for the rest of the scenario...

This sounds like meta-gaming now, but it is something I've been thinking about and hadn't pulled the trigger on.

The next time we rest, I am going to swap out Bless for Endure Elements. I would cast it on Faenethor on any day we are adventuring outdoors, since he has the lowest Fort bonus.

It's not meta-gaming for a cleric to call on the power of his/her God to aid herself or her companions..next time you rest you'll have endure elements memorized. I'll assume you cast it on Faenethor, unless you tell me different.

I understand the randomization, but say you fail your third con save. You would be frostbit at the beginning of the fourth hour. So you can set up a campfire after you get frostbitten because your character would know it.

Yes your character would be aware (as would other characters possibly). Therefore, if someone becomes frostbit in a location that, it's even possible to warm up. ie. there's wood nearby and shelter enough, (cave +fire, tent with a fire burning right outside and a sufficient fire break, or other clever forms of shelter & warmth) I will ask if that person wants to seek shelter (possibly delaying the mission) or continue on. On the other hand, if it's not even possible to seek shelter, like an ice plane with no tauntauns, I'll just continue the narrative until, the party reaches a place they can recover.

fair enough?

Quick question: In PFS should I take the 10gp off Craggark? or just assume it's part of some nether fund that he looted from a previous or future monster? In my home game there's no question this would come off the character sheet. However, funds are seemingly reserved for equipment in PFS and are relatively precious at the lower levels. Any of you have experience with this. (If it helps he got no mechanical aid for the bribe)

I think I addressed your question in the Gameplay thread, Master GM.

Craggark will happily pony up 8 of his own gold pieces, but he'll need 2 more from the gang. Abadar will provide a return on his investment.

Ha!
