"Oh dear!" exclaims the gnome. "Don't worry, friends! He... whatever he is... won't win! He can't! Now just you stay happy and remember that, okay!?" Inspire courage +2!

Thanks for the reminder--I'd lost track of where we were.
Morvius advances, hugging the left wall to avoid the crocodile, then fires at the unknown foe and probably misses, but I'll roll damage anyway just in case.
Cold iron DA arrow to fake KS, incl. PBS and inspire courage: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 + 2 = 15

Where was Morvius moving? If you move forward at all you'll provoke from the croc.
Morvius's arrow sails by Kreighton Shaine's head. The Master of Scrolls smirks in response.
"If you really insist on doing this now I prefer to look my best", Shaine says in a voice suddenly not his own as he produces a bow. Before the party's eyes the visage of Kreighton Shaine melts away and in its place is a dashingly handsome male kitsune. "That's much better. Wouldn't you say? I should thank you. Wearing that Shaine character's form was embarrassing", the fox-man says while sharing a meaningful glance with Morvius.
Morvius needs to make a DC 16 will save vs hideous laughter.
The sluggish crocodile eyes the party warily.
The party is up.

DC 16 Will save, incl. racial bonus vs. enchantments: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 22
Morvius shakes his head, unamused. "W-would have been funnier in a, an Elvish accent."

Morvius tries to shoot the kitsune again.

Zirt urges her loyal hound forward with a cry of "Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!", past the crocodile and up to the false Master of Scrolls! Darting her hand forward, she deftly slices the pouch from his belt and sticks a rolled-up piece of paper in its place! Gregarious will double move to C21 (tumbling past the croc if it seems like it might attack). Zirt will draw a crossword puzzle in... hrm... Common, I guess... and then swap it for the guy's spell component pouch.
Swap: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
If it beats his CMD by 10 or more, he's unaware the switch has been made until either the end of his next turn, or until he tries to use the item (whichever happens first).
Edit: Dogecrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Carbide, any chance I can borrow your reroll? I'll return it as soon as the scenario is over...
DM Feral
That just barely makes it with the slow penalty.
Gregarious doge-tumbles his way past the bewitched crocodile delivering Zirt close enough to snatch away the false Kreighton's spell component pouch. She's not quite quick enough to go unseen.
"Wait a minute? That's mine! I suggest you give it back."
Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Zirt needs a DC 19 will save or do as she's told.
Having tasted human flesh, the crocodile snaps at Balooo again.
Bite: 1d20 + 9 - 1 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 1 = 10
Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Grab: 1d20 + 14 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 14 - 1 = 22
The party is up.

It turns out I am a cheater. I thought that spell was verbal only. =/
Realizing his strongly worded suggestion has no effect without a bit of snake's tongue and a honeycomb, the handsome kitsune resorts to physical effort.
"I need that!" he says while lunging at the thieving gnome.
Grapple!: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Zirt squeals in anger as the man grabs her hair! With a furious squirm, she tosses his belt-pouch across the room and waits for Gregarious to rescue her. The big dog attempts to oblige, growling ferociously as he latches onto the bad man's leg!

Morvius takes a moment to line up his shot. A momentary gap between the fox and the hound gives him his opportunity, and he neatly threads an arrow past Gregarious and into the kitsune!

True but it's big and slow and my only other move right now would be to try and tag the g'nome with enlarge (to normal size) person if only for novelty sake. ;)

2d100 ⇒ (37, 24) = 61
Gregarious latches fiercely onto the kitsune's leg but not quite well enough to drag him to the ground. The loyal dog does hold the imposter still long enough for Morvius to nail him with another arrow.
Balooo smacks the giant crocodile across the snout but Natula's icy ray just misses its swishing tail. Unfortunately the attacks only seem to make the beast more ornery. Were you including bless?
Seeing his spell components tossed across the room, the kitsune releases Zirt and runs off to grab them. Provoking.
The croc snaps at Balooo again.

Oops, no and since I leveled the modifier is +3. So +2, touch AC 10.

Balooo growls as he is bitten but his increased might stops him from being grabbed. Aided even further by Fleetwood's magic, he punches the crocodile again.

Both combatants are still up.
Natula's stream of acid splatters against the crocodile's tail and Balooo smacks it across the snout again but the beast doesn't back down.
Gregarious snaps at the Kitsune as he tries to make a break for his spell components only to be dragged to the ground by the ankle. With a pair of arrows in his shoulder and a leg full of painful dog bites, the kitsune raises his hands in surrender. "Enough! I yield! You've bested me."
Unfortunately the crocodile doesnt' seem as interested in surrender.
Zirt, Morvius, and Fleetwood are up.
Morvius Eruthiel

With the kitsune apparently in hand (or jaw, as the case may be), Morvius leans over the shelf and puts an arrow into the crocodile.

Zirt glares down at the bad man, tempted to let Gregarious take another chunk out. The big dog looks up at her and wags his tail, as if to say, See? We won! After a few moments, his light-heartedness has its effect, and the little gnome laughs heartily. "Oh, you big silly boy, you. He never stood a chance against someone as handsome and cute as you are, did he? No, he didn't."
With a sigh, the gnome turns to the big crocodile and begins snapping her jaws closed in a series of slightly varied *chomp*s.
DM Feral
A moment later, a whack from Fleetwood's mace and an arrow through the eye ends the crocodile's struggle for good.
Nonplussed by the crocodile's death, the kitsune continues holding his hands up in surrender. "Congratulations friends. Tales of my capture will be told throughout the ages."
DM Feral
The kitsune smirks again.
"If you really must know, I'm hunting for an answer - the answer to the riddle that bested me and trapped me in that cursed scroll to begin with. It's the same riddle inscribed on the scroll itself. I'd swear the Fey-Lord that trapped me was cheating if I didn't know any better."
