Kiltem Stormcrow |

I 5' stepped Ko away from the cover to make this a hit
Ko's weapon isn't suited for the task, but his swing is strong and the damage is clear!
The guardians bare their teeth and bite at the pirates.

Kiltem resists, but everyone catches in horror as Art's muscles freeze up.
Slappy hurls a flask, which shatters on impact, scorching the bones of the monster. No extra splash damage. "If the target is Large or larger, you choose one of its squares and the splash damage affects creatures within 5 feet of that square.". Sorry.
Kiltem goes absolutely berserk, tearing apart most of the vertebrae and leaving only broken pieces on the ground!
Round 2:
Slappy: Fire!
Art: Go
Lucky: Go
Kiltem: Kill
Ko: Go
Enemy: TBD
White: 28
Harisko "Ko" |
Poison courses through his veins, gripping his muscles in painful, tonic spasms. Froth bubbles from his mouth as he tries to scream in anger and fear. His eyes flicker and roll, the only part of him not locked in tetanic spasm.
I spend my action paralyzed and pissed ;-)
Harisko "Ko" |
my bad, I misread Kiltem as me.
Ko continues his assault without hesitation.

Lucky lines up a pair of strikes using the saddle-shaped pommels of his Kukris
Main Hand Kukri: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 5 - 4 = 8 for Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8.
Off Hand Kukri: 1d20 + 5 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 5 - 4 = 18 for Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6.
Dungeon Master S |
Lucky changes his tack and opts for the butt end. The second hit cracks the skull, splitting the last vestiges of magic from its head!
For defeating the overly large necrophidii, each pirate earns 960 XP.
Arthur Cantor Delgado |
With a loud intake of breath, Art comes free. That...was a bit disconcerting. Good thing you louts were looking out for me! Good work, pirates. Now...let's see what these beasties were lairing on!!
search for treasure!!: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
"Lucky" Lucas D'Endrin |
Aid Another: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Dungeon Master S |
Indeed, within each tomb there is a piece of eye wear. In one is a pair of glasses with blood red lenses Spellcraft DC 16 to ID. In the other is a pair of goggles made to look like a raptor's face and eyes DC 18 to ID
Dungeon Master S |
Slappy (not Kiltem) figures out that the red lenses are deathwatch eyes
Kiltem Stormcrow |

What about the raptor goggles?
Slappy spellcraft 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Kilt assist 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Dungeon Master S |
Those turn out to be Eyes of the Eagle!
Kiltem Stormcrow |
I moved guys on the map
Lucky Perception 1d20 + 9 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 5 = 24
Kiltem Perception 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Now wearing the magical Eagle Eyes, Lucky peeks around dino-Kiltem at the last door. The rogue reaches around and opens the door.
Dungeon Master S |
The only thing Kiltem notes is the sound of wind and surf. The door here, however, is locked and shut tight.
Slappy Wundershart |
Slappy turns back to our casual observer Mr Mudlord Sir, would you happen to haves a key to this door? Or maybe unlock it from the inside for us?
Bluff to communicate: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
"Lucky" Lucas D'Endrin |
Lucky takes a few minutes to poke around and check for traps...
Perception: Check for Traps: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (18) + 16 = 34
"Lucky" Lucas D'Endrin |
DD open lock: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31
Dungeon Master S |
Lucky is sure, sure he should have the lock picked. He thinks there might be an Arcane Lock keeping it shut....
Arthur Cantor Delgado |
Well, we're in no rush..how about we batter it down? Any objections?
we're under no time constraints & not trying to be stealthy. Can we assume we'd eventually batter the door down (assuming no objections from the rest...)?
Arthur Cantor Delgado |
Art stops for a second, blinks, and looks up at the sky. The *sky.* Wait wait...Lucky, be a good lad and shimmy up that wall & look down, won't you? Maybe we can save some time and sweat and NOT knock the door down...
Art keeps his eye on the mudlord, in case it decides to make any moves on them.
"Lucky" Lucas D'Endrin |
Lucky nods and commences shimmying... but points out that one of the stronger members of the party might be a better shimmyer.
Shimmy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Dungeon Master S |
Lucky slides, unable to scale the wall. I know it feels silly to be this strict, but, well.... reasons.
Arthur Cantor Delgado |

You're too small to be a theif!!
art tries to climb the wall & look over.
climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Dungeon Master S |
Art atop the wall looks in.
Carvings of wind and waves line the walls of this small office. The room contains the remnants of a desk and chair as well as a large stack of stone tablets stacked in one corner. The ceiling is long since gone, leaving the contents open to the sky. Floating in the center of the room is a being of pure air. It seems to be shaped like a squid with its tentacles akimbo... It doesn't seem to react to your presence.
Arthur Cantor Delgado |
Art backs down.
Um, there's a...thing in there. some kind of squidly creature made of air. If it noticed me, it didn't care. I couldn't see anything of value specifically, but there are stone tablets in one corner--could be something.

The druid-deinonychus is quiet and realizes this is one of those times where he wishes he could use human speak. I think there is a spell for this... But he also thinks that magically locked doors hold something worth stealing.
Slappy Wundershart |
Arthur Cantor Delgado |
Mmmmm...good thought, but my gut says "no." This looks like a guardian of this specific room to me. But, I'm no expert...
Dungeon Master S |
Is Art giving this intel from the top of the wall? (it's 15')
Arthur Cantor Delgado |
So what do you boys think? I see two options: we all climb the walls & storm over, or smash down the door. Either way, we won't get much surprise--but we could send a volley of missiles from the top of the wall.
And just leaving isn't the third option.

Still in dino form, Kiltem can't speak to answer. However, he does lash out with a talony foot and mimes kicking the door in.
