Dont' wanna derail the progress, but I also wanna post a *little*.
Ham stands up and hugs Whistle Pig. Lauging, he says, "This is so strange. I feel a little out of it, but otherwise just... Like I just kinda fell into a bed with a skeevy pretty boy Elf, then y'all took me home. I feel like nothing happened and the rest of you are acting like I... Well, OK, like I died!
He puts down WP and pats him on the head, which I assume annoys the s**t out of WP.
See? I told ya I was way too good looking.
Ham still needs a restoration if we have one.
Just so y'all know... I don't intend to shuffle off this exquisite mortal coil until our work is done. Last time we had a pile of money I bought this.
Ham pulls out a small draw string bag with and reaches into it--it's a diamond.
For me or for you, if we're ever in need. Though my dad was a pagan. If it's gotta be an Ushyle-style redraw, I'll do that too. I am half-surprised I don't have breasts now.
He looks down at his own chest, seems to consider it, then shrugs.

Raen places a hand lightly on Hamilton's shoulder and gives it a gentle squeeze. It occurs to the militiaman that this is perhaps the first physical contact Raen has ever initiated, save in the heat of battle or the utility of transport. "Overjoyed to see you back among the living, friend."
I didn't wanna skim over this. It feels important.
Ham looks down at Raen's hand. He gently--and quickly--places his hand over hers and squeezes a tiny bit, then let's it all drop, with a nod.
| Dungeon Master S |
By all means. I don't want to gloss over anything.

"Strange that there are no chimney stacks. A forge ought to require heat."
Which way do the doors open? In or out?
Given that this is called the "Cold Forge," maybe we should employ some Resist Energy protection?

The doors are made of strong wood, and they open into the building.

Raen covers the company in her familiar glamer (Invisibility Sphere). Once the halfling is done fiddling with the door, she summons an illusion of the door in place of the actual door (Silent Image), allowing the real one to pushed open to the inside without any watchful eyes outside noticing. "Quickly now!" she hisses in Dwarven.
| Vael Oakfist |
Vael will request some diamond dust from Raen, and will perform the Restoration on Hamilton before the group left their sheltered cave.

Hamilton, arisen from his soul-sleep, appears before the giant. The twist in his grin is a telling insight into his intent. The first thrust opens the giant's belly. The second punctures a lung. The third embeds itself with potent magics.

Raen is a bit releaves as these creatures, Remohazs, are far less powerful, but still deadly. She knows that it can swallow a man whole, and it's body is hot enough to burn flesh. Although the remorhaz has much in common superficially with lesser vermin, the beast is surprisingly intelligent. While not capable of speech, the typical remorhaz has a good grasp of the Giant tongue, and tribes of giants often use this to their advantage to secure allegiances with the great beasts. Frost giants are particularly obsessed with them, for those giants who brave the cruel and deadly burns a remorhaz can inflict to become “worm friends” gain a potent weapon to use against their enemies—an assassin capable of burrowing up through the floor of a glacial keep to strike directly against a frost giant’s greatest weakness: fire. Other giants use the beasts as living forges, for their backs are hot enough to melt metal.
