Whistle Pig can hear the sound of giants talking about 300 feet into the cave. It's idle chatter, but they don't seem to notice him at that range...
"As a moth is to flame, so the halfing is to trouble," Raen says, beckoning him back so that she can glamer the whole group.
Raen cloaks the party in arcane invisibility. As they approach carefully... they spot a pair of troll guards. There's something different about these trolls. These bulky creatures have beady eyes, and rocky skin studded with small crystals. Both have jutting underbites holding large, crystalline teeth.
A rock troll! This is the kind of troll storybooks use. Afraid of the light and strong as they are stupid.
Further into the cave you spy a different creature, clearly more intimidating and intelligent. This hairless, hunchbacked giant has cruel tusks and two enormous, blunt-clawed fists that look strong enough to shatter stone.
Dammit! You can hear voices from the cave opening heading your way from behind!

Raen knows that the most famous rock troll story of all time involved a halfling tricking them into arguing until the sun rose. Sunlight, you see, turns them to stone!
The other creature is a buggane! They don't have any special defenses, but they're a terror on offense. They can knock foes down, rend them, even pass through rock to attack.

Ushyle takes a five foot step toward the entrance, feeling his task will be to hold the line and protect the flank. He whispers a prayer to Milani, hoping she can help protect him and his friends from evil.

Knowing that Ushyle will run headlong into danger, Vael places a hand on the half-elf. Murmuring a low chant, the Milanite's skin hardens and takes on a bark-like texture.
Keeping all but Ham hidden with her invisibility glamer, Raen isolates the nearest rock troll by ripping moisture from the cave walls along arcane threads and transferring the heat back to the walls. A plane of ice splits the cave in two.
"Careful. The buggane in the back can move through stone. The ice will only slow it down."
Ham slides off, ready for combat! Vael and Ushyle use magic to protect themselves against the power of a giant's might. Raen opts for some battlefield control!

The buggane busts out of the wall, right by Hamilton! The roughrider quickly finds himself in trouble.
Worse, the sound of battle stirs the giants who were on their way. They rush into the area.

For the Healers in the audience... That first strike barely misses. AC is 24 Vs. Giants. But yeah, that's a good crit.
The buggane worries Raen more than the giant reinforcements, so she grabs Doxon by the collar and yanks him along a dimensional thread directly into melee.
Ushyle grips Milani's Thorn and tries not to grit his teeth — that's when he notices his new form the most, when he does so.
As Black moves into melee range, the half-elf banes his weapon against giants and strikes!
Ushyle hits twice, the first swing slicing deep into the cave giant's side. While the second swing could have been worse, it's enough and the giant drops!
Raen and Doxon fold space to get a little closer!

Whistle Pig wastes no time. His first stone shatters the things massive teeth, the second and third strike it in the temple, dropping the monster to the ground into heap of twitching nerves and broken bones.

Doxon looks up and down the cave, wracking his brain as to which companion is in the most need of help, when his worry is answered for him as Raen grabs hold of his collar and pulls the two of them to within striking distance of the beast facing off against Hamilton.
As Ham knocks hammers with him, Doxon nods a "thank you" to Raen. Wasting no time, he steps in and brings the might of Torag down upon the giant.

Applejack is Unsettled as a swift action. She looks at the Dwarf and snorts.
Ham lays into the troll with furious swings of his flaming warhammer.

... And if slack chatter is to be believed, cracks the rock troll across the jaw, which breaks and brings the giant down. Ham quickly uses the hammer to light the remains, which seem to be especially vulnerable to the flame and the smoldering hulk dies. He turns and heads back to the rear guard of the party. On his way, he sees how AJ has been moved and he whistles to her and clicks with his teeth. AJ seems to be irritated with the gesture, but obeys and begins to kick and stomp at the giant [Black].

Which catch nothing but air as the tusked giant ducks under her buck.
Indeed, Hamilton stands over the fallen troll as the body smolders and turns to ash.
AJ gives the giant a bite on the thigh which clearly angers the tusked monster.
The two giants work together to try and bring down AJ and Ushyle with axes the size of men!

The dwarf then chants, producing a starknife of pure force behind the giant to the south. The weapon then cuts at the monster.
He then moves closer, spear at the ready.
Ushyle and Vael team up on the cave giant. Their attacks nearly lay him low as Raen assesses the situation. With Whistle Pig winding up, it's clear that the giant isn't long for this world.
Indeed the halfling's bullet's strike with preternatural power.

Meanwhile, the troll continues to try and bash his way in: , and smashes a hole in the wall! The giant steps through the supernaturally cold air and closes distance!
