DeGrog Coarse-Hair
Yippee! I mean, Arrrrgggghhhh!!!
AoO:
+1 Cutlass, two-handed: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32 for 1d6 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16dmg
DeGrog slashes quickly as the Giant roils away from Sandor's Dwarf-Fu, then follows through with the momentum to make his full power attack
Round 3:
Attack 1:
+1 Cutlass, 2-hand Power Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (14) + 13 = 27
1d6 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23dmg
Attack 2:
same: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
DeGrog misses his second attack as a flap of Giant gore lands on his man-orc visage. Additional flowery graphic descriptions, etc. etc.
Morkeleb the Mighty
ROUND 3
Seeing the carnage as the giant forces are divided, Morkeleb switches tactics. He levels his staff at one of the giants, and fires off three eldritch bolts, hoping to end its tenuous grasp on life...fire at whichever appears the most badly wounded
Magic Missiles: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) + 3 = 10
Dungeon Master S
DeGrog follows through with alacrity. His three swings score two solid hits. the final one misses, but it matters not for the giant drops in a heap and begins soaking the earth in blood. Morkeleb adds his dweomermight to the fight in the south. The missiles slam into their targets. The giant looking about in desperation.
Gaius!

An enemy being moved by a reposition does not provoke an attack of opportunity because of the movement unless you possess the Greater Reposition feat. You cannot move a creature into a square that is occupied by a solid object or obstacle.
Dungeon Master S
Still dead from DeGrog's hit.
Gaius Lirsiiv
I'm having difficulty tracking everything. The ROFL on the map isn't helping. At first I thought Morkeleb must have it him with Tasha's.
What is the current status of the three giants on the map?
Dungeon Master S
Giant to the South is on death's door. The ROFL giant is uninjured, but has been wracked with an uncontrollable, hideous laughter.
Dungeon Master S
Giaus sticks the giant in the hip with his steel. The giant's reaction is solely to continue its macabre baritone laughter. He tries to pull it together WILL: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 but simply cannot, and the thunderous peal of laughter continues. The giant to the south meanwhile takes two desperate swings at Grym: club 1: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 and misses. He tries the back swing club 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21 and catches him for DMG: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 5) + 10 = 17.
ODRIC!
Giant 1: 16 Tasha
Giant 2: DEAD
Giant 3: DEAD
Giant 4: 67
Odric the Stout
Round the Third
Move 15' and attack
Odric steps back a few feet, then sprints forward, placing his right foot on Sandor's nearly horizontal thigh, then his left foot on the Dwarf's armor-plated shoulder. The human leaps into the air with a screaming, blood-curdling cry. As he arcs through the intervening distance between himself and the giant rolling on the floor laughing, easy to spot because of the clearly labeled "ROFL" on the map Odric swings the Kegerator into a downward thrusting attitude. As he prepares to land on the giant's supine form, he bunches his shoulders up for a mighty stab downward.
Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 14 + 2 = 26 for 2d4 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (2, 2) + 10 + 6 = 20 damage.
Odric laughs along with the giant, his peals of bloodlust-fuelled laughter nearly equal to his foe's in maniacal pitch and timbre. Odric stands to his feet, withdrawing the Kegerator with a terrible sklurch, blood exploding upward in a fountain of red.

Round 3 Team Ranger
Dog and ranger keep good distance around the giant flanking him. As Grym takes a shot from a massive club Bucho moves in from behind to attack. Quickly recovering the ranger bounces back bothblades weaving and spinning in stabby slashy death.
Buchos power attack 1d20 + 10 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 10 - 1 + 2 = 14
power bite 1d8 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 5 + 2 = 14
Grym main attack 1d20 + 12 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (16) + 12 + 2 - 2 = 28
svord 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Offhand power attack 1d20 + 13 + 2 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 13 + 2 - 2 - 1 = 19
Shark Slayer 1d4 + 2 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 4 + 2 = 12
2nd main 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 - 2 = 13
svord 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
2nd off 1d20 + 7 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 - 2 = 17
Shark Slayer 1d4 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 4 = 10
bugger! One hit out of 5 attacks. And then I roll a 1 for damage...
I guess a hit is a hit.

Round 4
HP 73/88, AC: 28/32 vs giants
GM in round 2 said I took 18 dmg (15 after DR), but you only hit a 31 my AC vs Giants is 32, or did I miss something?
Seing the fallen giant laying there gigling like a gnome in a fart factory. Sandor takes a mighty leap landing on the giant's diaphram. This causes a laughter from down town that even Odric would be proud of. With 2 furious axe blows the dwarf rolls off the side of the giant just as his large meaty hands crash into his diaphram causing some more noxious gas to escape from his nether regions.
MW Axe: 1d20 + 12 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 12 + 4 = 24<~~~included prone mod
damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
MW Axe: 1d20 + 7 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 7 + 4 = 28<~~~included prone mod
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
5'step, Full attack
Dungeon Master S
Grym, Odric, and Sandor continue the fight. The blood splatters everywhere. Still the giants that remain aren't out of the fight yet! My bad, Sandor did not take that hit.
DeGrog!
Giant 1: 55 Tasha
Giant 2: DEAD
Giant 3: DEAD
Giant 4: 73
Ferox Kerr
Round 4
My actions shouldn't conflict with DeGrogs
Ferox keeps his steely focus on Grym and Bucho's gigantic foe. Two rapid TWANGs ring out and Ferox release yet another volley a the giant.
Arrow: 1d20 + 16 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 16 - 2 - 2 = 13
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 4 + (3, 4) = 15
Arrow: 1d20 + 16 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 16 - 2 - 2 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 4 + 2d6 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 4 + (5, 3) = 20
DeGrog Coarse-Hair
Nothing like a giant eating at ROFL House to rouse DeGrog's bloodlust, who moves up and hacks at the monster's open mouth at the apex of it's guffaw
Cutlass +1, 2hand PA:: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
Dmg:: 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21
Crit confirm: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17 (prob. nuthin', unless prone helps)
Crit Dmg: 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20
hArrgghhh-ar-ar-ar-hArrrggghhhh!!!
Morkeleb the Mighty
ROUND 4
morkeleb draws out a wand, pointing it at the giant still standing. An arc of fire leaps out at him, and a secondary arc strikes the laughing giant.
Burning Arc primary damage: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3) = 12 <--Ref DC 13 for half
Burning Arc 2ndary damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1 <--Ref DC 11 for half
Odric the Stout
Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 14 + 2 + 4 = 35 for 2d4 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 10 + 6 = 22 damage.
Confirm
Power Attack (Furious Focus) with MW Keen Falchion +1: 1d20 + 14 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 14 + 2 + 4 = 28 for 2d4 + 10 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 10 + 6 = 18 damage.
Morkeleb the Mighty
Considering the fact that the giant is LOL for another 4 rounds at least, and everyone can "concentrate all firepower on that Super Star Destroyer," is it not a foregone conclusion that he'll die horribly??
mY mistake. I (once again) didn't scroll down, and didn't see the standing giant. Carry on.
Dungeon Master S
Hail! I'm back. Trips and whatnot are complete. Indeed the two giants do NOT survive the onslaught. Before you know it, the party is standing over the steaming mass of giant corpses.
Combat over. XP: 1,824 each
Thorgrym the Tracker
Morkeleb raises an eyebrow at the ranger's antics.
Perhaps, Grym, you could track the giants' trail. Often these creatures steal from travelers, and keep the treasures in their lair.
Without a word Grym nods to Morkeleb as he finishes a cut to a giant ear. Swiftly wrapping it up he pockets it and in seconds he is reading the sign among the dirt and grasses, Bucho is casting about for a scent trail...
Tracking/Survival 1d20 + 15 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 15 + 2 = 31
Bucho aid, scent perception 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25
Dungeon Master S
It turns out that there is a pungent lair not too far from here. Grym leads the party there where he discovers a lot of refuse, but after about half an hour of effort, extracts a fair amount of loot:
Coins 56 pp, 497 gp
Gems
Amethyst (70 gp)
Aquamarine (400 gp)
Chrysoprase (50 gp)
Chrysoprase (65 gp)
Deep Blue Spinel (130 gp)
Ivory (55 gp)
Opal (500 gp)
Sardonyx (60 gp)
Masterwork Chain Shirt (250 gp)
Masterwork Shortsword (310 gp)
Potion of ???
Wand of ???
Morkeleb the Mighty
Sardonyx (60 gp)
*GASP* Not *The Sardion,* is it?!?!? (You'll only know this if you've read The Belgariad and the sequel, The Mallorean)
Potion of ???
Wand of ???
After casting Detect Magic in the stinky lair to insure they didn't miss anything magical, Morkeleb takes the items. First, he removes the stopper on the potion and deeply inhales the scent...
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (12) + 16 = 28
Then, he pulls out the well-worn Harrow deck, waves a hand over it, and calls out Zaralla, come forth!
Spellcraft (Identify): 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (1) + 26 = 27
Thorgrym the Tracker
Dungeon Master S wrote:Sardonyx (60 gp)*GASP* Not *The Sardion,* is it?!?!? (You'll only know this if you've read The Belgariad and the sequel, The Mallorean)
Quote:Its only worth 60 gp. So probably not the Sardion.
Dungeon Master S
Post was eaten:
Potion of Gaseous Form
Wand of Pass Without Trace (43 charges)

I guess none of the giants were able to use the pass w/out trail wand...

Unless anyone in the party can make use of the mwk chainshirt or mwk short sword. Grym makes a suggestion to Odric. Perhaps one of the mwk items can be an incentive for our hirelings. A prize for the most alert/brave/whatever guard.

the presence of hirelings reduces the likelihood of random encounters. I'll rule that the mwk gear and a DC 15 Diplomacy check will bump up their efficacy by 1.
Sandor Stouthammer
Morkelb since you have time, we can increase the worth of the armor and sword, by making them magical. Also could ya be able to put an enchantment on my shield? I'm sure you don't have the materials to do deathless yet, unless Ferox has learned the required spell.
Morkeleb the Mighty
Morkelb since you have time, we can increase the worth of the armor and sword, by making them magical.
From a mechanics standpoint, that wouldn't net us any gain. It costs half the market value to make magic items, and PCs can sell them at half market value.
From a RP standpoint...enchanting items to sell is not M's bag. :-) To *wield,* that's more like it
Odric the Stout
Odric stands slightly behind the party's face man holding a beautifully crafted weapon and armor up for the sunlight to play across. He cuts an imposing figure and uses his best pose posture to make an impression on the mercenary force.
Aid another (Gaius): Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
