I'll do it. but it'll have to be later. My lunch hour is almost up.

Uhh, Bannon, we can just go ahead and assume that for this bit you already have all of your stuff from your previous life studied and on-mind. You only had time to do your spell-like ability, really, and that's rejuvenated as you've been brought back to life.

Was going to post something but decided to wait for Tera. C'mon folks! Stop arguing and get in the portal! I'm sure you want to use your ridiculous stats!

OoC: I don't plan on playing her as the kind of person that goes around detecting evil all of the time. I was suspicious, and turns out that was correct. Tera had been playing a game of cat and mouse for a while in Nibreltar, until she died. When she didn't see what she expected, she became very paranoid, and decided to see what her immediate threats were. That was when she first detected the overwhelming aura of evil. When she saw Oswald, I'm sure there would have been something to set her on edge enough to warrant the sneaky detect evil.

Black armor, a high charisma score, and a undressing gaze.

I think that actually does merit a detect evil.

We can jump to Hazrit at any point in time, if you guys wish, with Bannon there. Or we can maintain strict roleplay, and have the 4 of you enter without him. Mind you, I must warn all of you that I don't change the CR of pre-made encounters to tolerate member-lacking encounters.

So if a fight was made to be Cr 5, it will be cr 5, regardless of whether you bring an army or just Roman. That sort of deal. I don't make them too crazy though. I just wouldn't go seeking out any dark corners if you're lonely, though.

Then again, I'm not going to totally stop everyone from wandering off. I'm completely okay with split parties, obviously.

The more I roleplay Hana, the more hypocritical and odd she's shaping out to be. If she could read your mind, she could, but she'd still look down on you for trying to read hers.

And yeah, rape-eyes guy was pretty creepy. I'll buff you when we inevitably fight him, don't worry.

One thing I just thought of is "How does Tera feel, being promised Heaven and ending up with this?"

Also: Are we going to sit around chilling for an hour while Bannon preps spells or fast-forward after a little while?

To wit: never split the party, always go everywhere with 5 characters. Got it.

We should jump forward when we get the chance. I think most of us were geared forward towards heading out and then kind of stalled out.

To wit: Intentionally split the party in the future. Got it.

That being said, we could simply fast forward after everyone makes a; and I quote; "Dick around for an Hour Post" Which I could easily just do right now with the simple typing of about 1300 keys.

Your guys's call.

Okay, so, tomorrow at 4:30 I'm going to be home, maybe earlier. Regardless, it's 16 hours from now.

Anyways, I'd like if, at all possible, you guys could explain what you do for about an hour. Maybe say that everyone takes a little while to get to know each other. Someone could maybe poke their head through a portal, and look around. (It'll be mid-day.)

Regardless, wrap up 1 hour of gallavanting into one post, and end it with everyone on the platform. Feel free to roleplay while I'm moving computers around at work.

What's Bannon doing is a given, lol

About 4 more hours and I'll be off work. This is my lunch break, so yay for that.

That being said, if we could get one more "Gist" post, that'd be fine. If roman doesn't post as a result of sleep, I'll just say that he's walking around the stairs, occasionally fidgeting with his gun, making sure it's in proper working order.

Dunno what I'll do with Hana, really, but I have a feeling titan will post.

Oooohh this is gonna be good.

Also, I want to make it rather clear in the future.

I place subtle, alluded-to things in my descriptions that you're more than welcome to make checks on, but please, for the love of all that is holy, never throw more than 1 knowledge at something.

One of you, in your spoilers, I think it was Titan, threw Every Knowledge at me earlier... 7 times and I had to resist hostile urges. That being said, his future looks grim, so I let it slide and didn't really say anything. Then again, all of your futures look grim, so...

Regardless, if you're curious about something, make a knowledge check that you think relates to it. Giant sapphire balls in the sky? Probably Arcana. Grass growing out of someone's face? Probably Nature. Trying to figure out what places these metal archway's go to? Probably local.

At the most, throw 2 knowledge checks, if only to get a good feel. I'll go ahead and say that 2 knowledge checks made during any time is a swift action, even in combat. Knowledge Local is very important to this sort of situation.

If you roll a knowledge check for an area you're not familiar with, you're taking a -5 circumstance penalty, unless you spend time in that area's library (if it has one) and learn about it, which could take as long as 1d4 hours.

With that, I beseech you that you entertain me while you gallavant in Hazrit... I'm sure you'll enjoy this monstrosity of a journey you've all got ahead of you.

Oh I like everyone, but I'm still going to (Within Reason) go for your throats.

Sometimes literally.

Correction. Hana Miyahara's spoiler that *I* posted. Tera's isn't really useful to anything... aside from not falling off a cliff.

That being said, I'm looking forward to the near future.

Okay, I think I need to give you a heads up.

I've been having emotional and anxiety issues for a while now. I'm seeing a psychiatrist Wednesday, and hoping that I can get something working out. I'm okay, I'm not about to go kill myself. (I've experienced what that does to family left behind, and why I am very much against suicide.)

On top of this I've been having issues with my faith. I am a Christian, and I've been having a series of crises of faith for the past few months to a couple of years. I'm not like one of the WBC people. I do believe that pre-marital sex, pornography, and homosexuality are sins, but I'm not about to go around saying "God hates F%$%!" He doesn't and neither do I. The only difference between me and someone who's not a Christian is that I have asked for the forgiveness that God has already offered. I've been scared in the past to speak about this on these boards, especially when I see some of the comments in threads that talk about religion. I know I'm most likely in the minority here, but I'm hoping that you see me as the same person now as before. The only thing that's changed is I'm trying to be more honest. I'm trying to open up and let people see the whole picture, instead of the bits I try to keep polished.

I'm telling you all this because I had a bit of breakdown this evening, and an epiphany. I'm using this game, these boards, and my computer as an escape. I've built a wall around myself and I need to start tearing it down. I need to be honest with you and myself. I've done such a good job closing myself off, that I didn't realize what I was doing until tonight when I had to have a heart to heart with my mom.

I'm telling you this to let you know that my posting is probably going to drop, maybe even drastically. I don't want to cut any of the games I'm in, but that may mean the GM has to GMPC my character. I'm going to be going though a long process, and it may mean that I do have to drop games so I'm not crippling myself.

Anyway. I hope that you all understand and can bear with me while I get this mess sorted out. I'm okay. I just need to work through this.

Out of curiosity (and a bit of a blind-side, really) what did the epiphany involve, exactly? I'm not so much worried about the drastic post dropping, as 1 of you might very well die in the near future of posting. That being said, if you'd like, I can give you a ticket out of here, if you want to free up some time.

I'm still rather curious though. (Also, as a christian myself, I don't really consider pre-marital sex, porn, or homosexuality a sin. I mean hell, if we're going by the book, the clothes I'm wearing right now, made of mixed fabrics, and my breakfast this morning were pretty bad sins already.)

Long story short, my idea of christianity is "Don't be a dick to people, be nice." and that's about it.

Barring religious conversations and this coming out of the blue, let's not get too religious with this. That said, again, what was the epiphany? Feel free to PM it.

Also it might not be a wall, really. I mean hell, I'm on these boards more than you are. I'm just a nerd with a minimum wage job going to college.

Sorry to hear Adam, be strong.

Speaking of which, WE CAN DO THIS GUYS.

Though certain death may be a reality, we've a real chance to help someone and benefit from the situation.

Plus, facing a Wyrmling isn't Bannon's idea of fun, but the chance to learn about a dragon's degenerate cousin helps understanding dragon magic better.

[ mouthful, but totally worth it ].

To be honest, I made the same mistake Tera did. Mostly because the "buggering" post came out right after Hana called him a rapist.

That double entendre works so well, in an adventure promising some very dark comedy such as this one...

I'd be down for ENOUGH TALK! but I'm also hoping to figure out how to turn the bridge up and down so we don't end up at this idiot's mercy-- or worse, confused about how to work it when he's dead.

If that doesn't work, we can go rust monster stomping. I'll bring a dagger. Everything else stays home. :P

I never realized skill monkeys could make ogre's seem so damned stupid.

Then again, they don't have to try too hard.

Anyways, Hana just managed to avoid something, so, free experience.

Okay, so, 2 things. 1: For the love of all that is holy, someone please post this weekend. No one posted a thing over the last weekend, haha.

2: How are you enjoying this turn of events, and has anyone figured out that lowering/raising the bridge triggered the rust monsters?

AHAHAHAHA! AHAHAH! AHAH! HAHAHA! I've no idea why rust monsters have a +5 will save, but this just got hilarious.

So they all study it intently... ? Are they smart enough to go 'How interesting, I should look into this further?' I was hedging on that they weren't.

Quote:
Saving Throws and Illusions (Disbelief ): Creatures encountering an illusion usually do not receive saving throws to recognize it as illusory until they study it carefully or interact with it in some fashion. A successful saving throw against an illusion reveals it to be false, but a figment or phantasm remains as a translucent outline. A failed saving throw indicates that a character fails to notice something is amiss. A character faced with proof that an illusion isn’t real needs no saving throw. If any viewer successfully disbelieves an illusion and communicates this fact to others, each such viewer gains a saving throw with a +4 bonus.

I guess that's fine.

Rust monsters have a total intelligence of 2. They're eating metal, so they're pretty much content with everything. That being said, when the shadow passed over from it's formation, I'm sure they all took a moment to be like "Oh what's that up there." They're probably not aware it's an illusion, but at the same time, it hasn't knocked any of them off the bridge yet.

As for the Ogre, he's just an idiot.

That being said I wasn't extremely familiar with the rules on illusions, so I figured everyone that looked at it was privy to a savings throw. Regardless, they're too stupid to act any differently. The ogre's smart enough to know that if that's a real wyvern, it's probably going to destroy the bridge.

Being in a mountainous region, there's bound to be tons of them, especially since it's a dragon dominated area.

Might have some trouble posting the next 2 days (Sunday and Monday)......Bromen will keep running until he's close enough to hit something, including a final burst as a charge if the opportunity (and a target) presents itself. Will attack 2-handed with the sledge, power-attacking, and aiming for the antennae on the first shot so my stuff don't get et.

Hoping not that many rounds pass while I'm unavailable but better safe than sorry......................

Fine by me, I'll just DMPC till then. Consider it Autopilot.

Writing your next course of action then letting the GM take your action and roll for you it's just too easy... everyone knows GM rolls are always higher! I feel bad for the others now...

I do not understand the positions now, though.
Bannon and Hana both used actions to cast spells, while Roman always run. I was close enough to push down one of them, so why am I "60 feet back" ? Shouldn't I be a few dozens feet closer to the monsters than anyone else?

Am I imagining the situation correctly?

No, you were 60 feet back at the end of round 2, because a charge is a full round action and you couldn't bull rush properly with that. I took that into account.

Bannon and Tera are now within range of the bridge at the start of the current round, you are directly beside the bridge, and rust monster 1 is at the bottom of a ravine.

Also, at the start of this turn, the Dwarf and the Ogre actually arrive, don't they? I'll do a recap. Feel free to fill me in, I've been at work all day. This is a tiny little window where I can post.
