well what can bref say, he is a creature of chaos. Mostly harmless chaos, but a little bit of chaos none the less.

And he really does not respond well to threats...i mean he EATS people for kicks :)

I am thinking a Lorewarden/Arcane Duelist heading towards duelist. Would ask DM to let weapon finesse work on a short spear

Just not sure in character why we would bother? Nothing personal Bref, I would expect the same treatment for Dren.

We have little long term loyalty to each other and less reason to spend that amount of resources at our level to do this. Several party members probably wouldn't mind seeing him dead anyways after how things went recently...Bref will be missed by me personally though...very entertaining!

this has TPK written all over it


I don't play my bosses stupid, no. Nor pull punches with them.

Sir Balin captured two of you and lots of other evildoers besides. In-game, he should be a fearsome opponent for you. He's not a paladin, but he's a tough midlevel character with good stats and a head for tactics. Notice how he's eliminating you one by one instead of spreading his attacks around? Also, he's attacking the less armored characters first to get best use from his Cleaves. He'll keep doing that until you're all gone.

It's crunch time, Ninth Knot. Bring it or die.

Too bad we used all of our spells & resources on every other fight, ouch. Jax's last arcane point was all he had left for this one, and a couple of potions. He'll be spending his next two turns buffing (another scroll of shield for +4 and a shield of faith potion for +2 deflection). While professing his innocence to Balin.

I still have hopes to see Bref in this campaign.

I suggest a fighting withdrawal, bring Mr. Superman through the garden of fungi and see how he fares. At the very least when we make it to Grumblejack we have another fighter with us, who will last all of two rounds. And power up Mr. Superman's cleave.

We can stay here too, use Bluff and Disguise Self to barter for the pendant, rely on the Judge's skill and we all 'aid another' but let him do the talking.

I prefer the former, maybe the mushrooms can slow him down.

Also note that Bref was key in our Stealth team tactics and our trap finder, if we don't get him back our teams tactics will change.

Dren and Morsum have pretty good stealth, just no trapfinding...Goblin stealth is just on the broken scale...

Jax's stealth isn't terrible either. He's more likely to boost it with points now that he got the class-skill bonus from rogue.
