Kerret is our best armoured member right now. Time to get on the front line where you belong!

Initiative +1, Perception +6 (+8 w/Fenris) Current AC 15, Current HP 29/29 (29/29 non-lethal)

I'll be away from home for the next two weeks for a training exercise. I'll post from my phone when I can but feel free to bot me whenever you want to move things along. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Are you getting notifications on the gameplay thread Kaylee?

I just noticed that recently with my other play-by-posts that it doesn't always show that there are new posts. I thought maybe it's been a slow weekend until I happened to look back through. I'll be checking in manually more often now.

Cool, I think you still have an action this round if you want to do something.

I might be overthinking things, but sorry for not being particularly helpful during this encounter. I think it somewhat goes without saying that my direction with Lector's build was somewhat misguided. If we live to see level 5, I hope I can do something to make him more practical in combat.

I think this is about adventure design.

Adventure 1 was about 'classic', innocent adventurers delving a dungeon. This was signposted and this type of character was made by everyone.

In adventure 2, these adventurers were thrust into an espionage/urban adventure for which they were not designed.

Yeah, that's definitely one of the problems that stuck out. Lector's flavor definitely leans towards the espionage style.

At any rate, it's probably for the best that things went to hell as early as they did.

I still feel pretty responsible for getting us into this mess. I thought Lorant did some decent damage to the golem though. If it gets out of swarm form we may have a shot at it, but I don't know.

Cleric of Erastil (current hp 25, total hp 25; F+4 R+4 W+7; AC19, t12, ff17, Initiative +3, Perception +9)

Maybe the swarm form is only for a number of rounds a day? Then we can tough it out?

Does Kerret know with his knowledge check?

Human Mobile Fighter 4 (hp 13/40 | AC 17/13/14 F+6, R+3, W+2 (+2 vs. Fear, +2 vs. Illusions) | Init +3 | Percep +4, SM +1)

No more hellhounds! Lorant might live through this!

Kerret's retracted sonic spell did seem to damage the swarm. I'm guessing it's immune to all magic except sonic. Otherwise, yeah, we need to get it back into golem form for me to beat on it. But I'm going to take damage from the swarm again this round and hopefully save against its weird mask ability.

Cleric of Erastil (current hp 25, total hp 25; F+4 R+4 W+7; AC19, t12, ff17, Initiative +3, Perception +9)

I can channel healing now, it won't affect a construct.

How is everyone for healing?

Initiative +1, Perception +6 (+8 w/Fenris) Current AC 15, Current HP 29/29 (29/29 non-lethal)

I'm only missing 1 hp. Save the channeling if Lorant is the only one hurt, either one of us can cast cure or I can use my healing hex on him now.

Init +4; Perception +7; hp: 28/28 AC 13(17)/12/11(15); F+3, R+3, W+5

Is this like the Sopranos where everything just goes black at the last episode?

Human Mobile Fighter 4 (hp 13/40 | AC 17/13/14 F+6, R+3, W+2 (+2 vs. Fear, +2 vs. Illusions) | Init +3 | Percep +4, SM +1)

Lorant kills you all and he and mask golem go and have beers.

No for that to be a thing, things would have t-

Cleric of Erastil (current hp 25, total hp 25; F+4 R+4 W+7; AC19, t12, ff17, Initiative +3, Perception +9)

Okay, any votes for me flicking through the adventure and figuring out how to kill the golem?

I own everything Paizo, pretty much, but can't remember any thing about this adventure beyond 'infiltrate the cult'.

Or, y'know, I could PM Doug? Maybe he's just annoyed that ear-piercing scream makes the golem auto-implode and he's missed his TPK?

Initiative +1, Perception +6 (+8 w/Fenris) Current AC 15, Current HP 29/29 (29/29 non-lethal)

If you don't hear back from Doug I'd say go ahead and look it up. Question is, when do we want to start looking for a new DM? Or does someone mind stepping up and taking over?

I can say with a reasonable amount of confidence that if Doug's not here, he's probably been held up by something. Like, a snowstorm or something. It's happened before. :P

Human Mobile Fighter 4 (hp 13/40 | AC 17/13/14 F+6, R+3, W+2 (+2 vs. Fear, +2 vs. Illusions) | Init +3 | Percep +4, SM +1)

Yeah, Doug's been gone before. Let's sit tight and hope it's not something bad.

Initiative +1, Perception +6 (+8 w/Fenris) Current AC 15, Current HP 29/29 (29/29 non-lethal)

He's been patient with me and my absences so I have no problem waiting for his return.

Init +4; Perception +7; hp: 28/28 AC 13(17)/12/11(15); F+3, R+3, W+5

Oh yeah, he did mention that his work schedule got shifted up a bit. I say we wait and give him the benefit of the doubt, and try to come up with some kind of plan in the meanwhile.

I'm alive everybody!

I don't find any of your concerns a surprise and I apologize for the long absence. As you may all recall from last year when I disappeared that this is my busy season at work. I'm getting flip-flopped around between days and nights working 10-12+ hours a day and still trying to make time for three kids and the wife. I'm trying to do everything I can to stay caught up with my PBP's but when it comes down to it, it's just hard to prioritize above all my other commitments (I've had my current post half complete for over a week just sitting on my computer screen).

That being said, I'm still going to do my best to make updates as often as I can. This is my first, and longest running PBP and also my longest lasting group in RL. I dont want to loose it. If you're all not comfortable with the pace and want Vastar to take over for a while until I slow down again It would relieve a little pressure. I can also continue GMing without issue but updates will be sporadic until around Autumn as my current work project is scheduled until August.

I wanted to comment on this weeks ago when it was posted but never got the chance.

Lector is a great build for this module! The only thing is that things never played out the way the module intended. Had things gone in the intended direction Lector would likely have been the most valuable player in the lot. As I had mentioned before, the module is extremely RP heavy. Players are supposed to engage in this fight and thats about it.

Just a quick post to keep this game on the active list.

Cleric of Erastil (current hp 25, total hp 25; F+4 R+4 W+7; AC19, t12, ff17, Initiative +3, Perception +9)

Hey, fellow Paizonauts!

I can't keep up with pbp any more. Life is just too hectic right now.

I've really enjoyed the game; my replacement better be wicked awesome.

Human Mobile Fighter 4 (hp 13/40 | AC 17/13/14 F+6, R+3, W+2 (+2 vs. Fear, +2 vs. Illusions) | Init +3 | Percep +4, SM +1)

Eh, 3 months now with no word. I think this one is done. We might all be dead anyway, given how that fight was going.

Great gaming with you all!
