Well... I'm an idiot.

So, I put together a prestige class for Sal which I thought turned out pretty well and I was about to post it here for some feedback (see what Sal thought, see if anyone else could spot something that could be a problem in specific situations, or had a feeling something could be off power-level wise)... then I noticed that Sal's alignment doesn't quite match her god's. *cue sad trombone music*

Sal, how do you feel about changing alignments?

I guess I'm still open to feedback either way... maybe I'll use it for an NPC down the road or something. I didn't put the spell list together yet but it would be a handful of stuff from the paladin list and a handful from the ranger list (with maybe just a couple inquisitor spells sprinkled in).

Sal (assuming you don't want to change alignments), I'd especially like your feedback because it'll be helpful in starting over.

Hey, Sal can shift her alignment - in fact, this might be a good and appropriate time for it considering she's just gotten some of the affirmation she'd been looking for and, as a result, some drive to do better and prove worthy of the responsibility she's been given. Since it looks like Sal wouldn't be able to take it until 5th level at the earliest anyway (when she gains that +5 BAB and can take the Deific Obedience feat), I can start having her work her way to the shift during the downtime and the first part of Book 2.

At first glance, it looks really cool and very thematic! I like that there's some flexibility on the boons that you can select and that the granted abilities are largely self-buffs sans the radiating Magic Circle against Evil effect you can get later on. It seems like it boosts flexibility and survivability but isn't OP since they're all limited use per day and most of them also rely on having the mantle manifested to be able to use in the first place.

Speaking of the mantle, it's not stated in the document but I'm guessing it's 1/day when you first get it then and eventually increases to 3/day? Or is it a set 1/day?

Iirc, it says in the first line “at will”... the intention was that you could effectively have it on all the time if you wanted but there were options for shutting it off if/when you wanted to avoid attracting attention. That said, thinking about it right now I feel like maybe I should put in some kind of penalty/restriction if it does get dispelled or banished (like having to wait a certain number of rounds before you can manifest it again).

Also- now that you’ve had baths and proper meals, and a real night’s rest, go ahead and level up to 4th! Remember that you gain: the second level domain spell from your birthmark domain as a 1/day SLA (in addition to the 1st level spell you already have), a hero point (up to a max of 3), and +1 to any one stat (as normal at 4th level).

Please make a post here with your changes (what new spells you learn, where your skill points go, increases to BAB/saves, etc) once you’re done.

@Tera (or anyone who wants to multiclass)- let me know if you want/need help with your fractional bonuses.

You’re welcome to do whatever you want, just remember that the SLAs from your mark count as divine casting (so you can qualify for mystic theurge as arcanist 4/inquisitor 1 if you want to get into it faster).

@Marcus- you’re spells known are only right if you’re counting the cure spells and mystery bonus spells (though they do look right assuming you are counting those). I don’t see your spell-like ability (from your mark) listed. And check your archetype... you get some extra bonus spells when you bond with a spirit.

Question: did we ever decide anything about trapfinding and Disable Device? I ask because with Sal now able to select her first slayer talent she could pick up Trapfinding which gives her Disable Device as a class skill. I have absolutely no problem doing that (and will rearrange my skill points accordingly) but if someone else was planning to invest in trapfinding (or has already been doing so) then I'll pick a different talent :)

Yes, thank you, Kaede, for compiling all that! I'm not entirely sure what additional information you're looking for, though? Are you asking if those things are magical, or for their gp value?

Also, another holiday means another blessing...

Blessing of Neshen:
The first time during the campaign that your character dies you have a chance at rebirth. For a number of rounds equal to the number of times you have received this blessing, your spirit lingers with your corpse; during this time healing magic still functions normally on you. If you receive enough healing to remove the dead condition, you do not die but but instead gain one negative level for each round that you had the dead condition. Unlike normal negative levels, these negative levels reduce your total but not your current hit points. If you were killed by a death effect this ability instead allows you to retry the saving throw for the effect once each round that your soul lingers. If you succeed one of those subsequent saves, you awaken in whatever condition you were in when you died and gain (normal) negative level equal to the number of rounds you had the dead condition.

Unlike previous (and most likely future) blessings, I'm awarding this one retroactively (once for each Easter on which you've posted). So...

Okay, this is in relation to Nate making a Prestige Class for Salomae. Every time I open this thread, the first post that I see is that post.
I was out walking and letting my mind wander, and it jumped to the need for a spell list for this class. I made a jump to how similar it was to paladins. You wanted a somewhat unique spell list for it, and I remember the oddest spell list I've seen, for the Silver Champion archetype for paladin. Instead of the normal spell list, they instead only cast the spells from Apsu's domains and subdomains. So, I wondered what the spell list would look like if that concept was applied to Erastil. This list, plus 4 spells that are Erastil-themed, was the result. I did lower the level of 1 spell(Hunter's Blessing), from 5th to 4th, so that it could be included.

alarm, bless, borrow skill, calm animals, Deadeye’s lore, divine favor, enlarge person, entangle, know the enemy, magic fang, protection from chaos/evil, tracking mark

Kaelaah doesn't really have any claim on any of the things other than the Sarenrite Holy Symbol... and, as to levelling, I'll get to that once I've caught up on Gameplay posts across my games - but Kaelaah will be just going up to Kineticist Level 4 :)

@Kaede- what a great thought! I may end up tweaking that list a little bit but, honestly, it looks pretty good already. Thank you.

Regarding the 3 items at the end of your list: the holy symbols don't have any magical properties (beyond any faint aura they might have just from being blessed... or cursed in this case?); they're worth about 100g each, unless you want to destroy them. The small enchanted hide is a suit of +1 hide armor sized for a goblin; its worth about 1,000g if you can find a halfling/gnome who doesn't mind wearing armor made from a horse (or about 500g if you can find a shopkeeper who will take it off your hands).

- enough food and water for seven for four or five days. Five days should give us a little cushion. A day to get there. A day to explore, a day to consecrate the place, and a day to get back.

- Firewood?
- A wand of CLW if we can get it.

  • The church will also provide a bedroll and blanket for anyone who has need. If you want the tents look up the cost and pay it (but consider how you'll transport them and what you'll do with them when not in use).
  • Headmaster Gandethus does have a partially used CLW wand, but he's very hesitant to part with it because he uses it when any of the orphans in his care get hurt. If you think you need it more than the orphans, a DC 20 Diplomacy check will convince him.
  • The church will supply you with 1 CMW potion, and 2 CLW potions (free). Between the Pillbug's Pantry, Bottled Solutions, and the Feathered Serpent you find 1 more CMW potion and 4 more CLW potions (all regular cost, if you want them).

EDIT: I omitted the cloak of resistance (white cape) from the list... Marcus actually doesn't have one yet (he wasn't in the party when you were all given your cloaks) so I thought I would see if you wanted to give it to him before selling it?

Hey folks, just a reminder/note that I'll be heading out of town later today for a work training trip and won't be back until late on Friday the 20th. I'll have my laptop but the amount of free time I'll have to use it after today (Sunday) is uncertain so please go ahead and bot Sal as needed; if I have enough time to check in and post I will but otherwise I'll catch up when I get home.

As Sal pointed out, we do have a guest... one of my buddies recently moved and doesn't have a TT game in his new locale so he's going to sit in for this little excursion. I'll let him introduce himself here when he gets a chance. Oliver's still an NPC though- don't feel like you have to be nice to him just because someone else is controlling him ;)
edit: except Orin- Oliver technically outranks you, so you have to be nice to him (he's a scout and you're a patrolman so there's no direct chain of command)

Also- it's been a while since a couple of the players have posted... I'm going to hold off a little longer and moving on a) in case they have any last things to do before leaving town, and b) so as to avoid overwhelming with too much progress when they get back. Those of you who have been posting, feel free to keep RPing while you wait.
