Okay, copied from where it was originally posted. A few things changed from the original posting are in red
- Apply Young Characters rules.
- Standard superhero array (18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13).
- Full starting hit points.
- No starting gear/money.
- Two traits (as per Young Characters, one may be left open until characters "come of age" during retraining) selected from different trait categories.
- A drawback is permitted.
- Select an additional trait from the Goblin race traits. You gain this trait even if you have chosen one from this category already.
- Surviving each module is worth a level...experience is otherwise going to be unused.
FollowingBefore the climax of "We B4 Goblins", characters will retrain their NPC class level for free. They may also retrain their first feat for free.
- If characters have special gear needs to be fully up to date after the first module (firearm for Bigbadaboom, for example, but maybe spell books or animal companions?), please let me know.

Well, he might have faded back into the mists, but I want to get moving. Hymie was talking about a goblin gunslinger also, though not sure if he was looking toward the same general path I am going with BBB. Either way, expect a second fighter type. Jeff was going alchemist last I checked, I assume expert or adept for NPC. But it is goblins, don't worry about traditional roles, just have fun.

Cool, will you need access to a spellbook in the future, or are you planning some goblin alternative? I should have read before asking, lol. Her goat will be her spellbook, lol.
Jefe was going alchemist I think, he said earlier he has been super distracted the last few days, but I'm going to setup an alias for Bigbadaboom, who will start as a warrior. I will open the gameplay page in the next 24-48 hours.

You could opt to chase down the dog, but I would hand wave that, write it up as you like, but she was the last threat. I will post some wrap up stuff as soon as I can, but take your time to enjoy the party. I have to review my notes to remember when I planned to bring you to second level and I will tell you about plunder as soon as I can.

Everyone gets first crack at the following loot: four hammers, three daggers, twelve sacks of millet, a bucket of flammable tar, and six barrels of terrible-quality corn whiskey (that doesn’t taste like corn at all), frying pan, courtier’s outfit, perfume (tastes like minty licorice), bottle of fine wine (tastes even better than the perfume), fancy dog collar studded with (fake) gems a halfling-sized corset and bridal veil, a black vest, a bow tie, a child’s doll, 18 cloth diapers, four jars of moonshine, a bottle of perfume (tastes like flowers), a sewing kit, six shiny white buttons, a fine kitchen knife (counts as a masterwork dagger), and two gold rings worth 25 gp each. An unidentified scroll...as if any goblin cares.
Any individual goblin can snag two of those items without complaint from the tribe. If you really want a third (or more) you need to make an intimidate, bluff, or diplomacy check against a DC 13. If successful, you can keep trying to grab more by repeating the same check with a +5 DC each time. The moment you fail, you're out of the running to grab more. Hope that makes sense, I just sort of made that up on the fly.
Everyone is now a second level goblin, no more young template or NPC classes. The amount of downtime you'd like to take is entirely up to you guys. We can move onto the next book whenever everyone is ready.
DM Dickie |
Don't know if I specified before or not, but, I kind of like the idea of sticking with straight first roll on hit dice. Partly because they're goblins, so why not? Partly because there are voids between the books anyway that can be filled with downtime activities and there aren't really "shops" in the traditional adventure sense to buy, sell, and trade. We can work out a method to "spend" loot no one wants or needs to replace gold for retraining and such.
DM Dickie |
Goblins are weirdos, so for the purposes of crafting items, you can "scrap" any gear to gain it's value in GP as raw materials. If an item doesn't have a listed cost, consider it 1 GP (since random crap has more value to goblins than most stuff).
Anyway, will put up a big post in a day or two to love things along.

Okay, level up to 3rd level. Don't assume you're back home just yet. You're a little light on treasures since you blew a bunch up so I'm considering options to upgrade your gear a bit, plus, there are other reasons. So if you want to do any light posting before I officially begin the next book, assume you're still walking back to the village.
