Right. Just making sure since there is quite a huge difference in value if they are working or not. I'll go on the said amount.
And it looks like I have another scroll I can scribe into my spellbook! ^_^ Identify!~
| Dejah Simin |
@Tabitha: What scrolls were you offering Dejah re perception boon? Dejah has the Sift spell which aids her in perception if she needs to look deeper or for hidden things. Something to improve AC would be more handy ...
Tabitha Flynn

I was talking about the Heighten Awareness spell. For 10 minutes per level, all trained knowledge skills and perception gain a +2 for the duration. Also if combat starts, you can dismiss it and gain a +4 to initiative.
For AC, I can make scrolls of Mage Armor and Shield. Though since you wear armor, the shield would provide a more immediate bonus, but only lasts a minute. And Mage Armor, while would last longer, would only give a +1 bonus over your current armor.

Better make sure you can get DC 21 spellcraft to activate the scroll of shield then. It is 20 + Spell Level.
With making scrolls, looks like it may be a while. Got to prepare spells that I am going to scribe for the day, scribe them, and then wait for a new day. So I can make at least three scrolls in a day, not counting cantrips.
| Dejah Simin |
I understand re the DC. Dejah has +6 to Spellcraft currently... and once we level up, she can gain another rank, if needs be, to help her reach the required DC. It's just good to have a backup in defenses ... Just thinking ahead is all.

Whew! Lots of posts while I was gone. Let's see...
Regarding Batteries:
--I'll rule that the burnt-out silverdisks are worth 10 GP and the batteries themselves are worth 100 GP.
Regarding the Keycards:
--The keycards themselves aren't really lockpicks--they're keys that are guaranteed to open a grade of lock. The brown cards can only open brown-level electronic locks, and the black card you picked up opens black & brown-level locks.
Regarding RPing the Selling of Loot:
--It won't be necessary. However, if you'd like, I'll RP out the purchasing of new items.

In regard to the sale value, (once we figure out what we want to sell) how will you calculate this in game if we aren't playing it out? Also, GM Ironcat, how much longer will you be npcing Cade and Viorec? Just need to know since they will need to be included in the loot distribution if they are going to continue indefinitely. Thanks.
Once we figure out who's taking what and who needs what (still need to hear from Kadosh and Triax) then Dejah and Tabitha can go to market so to speak and buy what the group needs. The girls have a good relationship with the two shop keeps from their earlier purchasing, so it makes sense they continue that goodwill/relationship.
| Dejah Simin |
Kadosh and Triax, are you interested in purchasing the antitoxin? The Weeping Pond is polluted/toxic (with chemicals and strong pungent fumes) and can make one very sick/poisoned (it can be absorbed through the skin, I believe?). Since we'll be swimming down through it to get to the cave entrance, it is a good idea since it gives a +5 alchemical bonus on Fortitude saving throws against poison for 1 hour. The initial party all used this antitoxin the first time we travelled down.
| Triax Null |
Oh, Triax is good. For the sort of money we've got and what sorts of things we can get, he's well equipped in the moment.
I think my character asked about the environment and didn't get commentary, so hasn't pursued it further.
I'm all for disposable items for the shaman and wizards: scrolls of lesser restoration, see invisible. I guess we're not really doing that model of wealth distribution though.
| Triax Null |
I just realized you asked me some questions in the loot distribution earlier.
Sure, I'll take a sap. I don't need anything else, but I'll take the silver pick if nobody else wants it.
My standard "nice things to have at low level list"
oil of magic weapon (50 gp), or scrolls of the same for the casters.
oil of bless weapon (50 gp)
something for swarms (acid, alchemist fires - I have a couple already)
scrolls of protection from evil and remove fear (the android is immune to fear, though)
holy water is useful
That's all I can think of in the moment.

Guess I have to see if those two are available that you recommend Triax, at the magic/tech shop then while we are shopping!
| Triax Null |
I'll just add that would be a normal shopping list - but Iron Gods does't need magic quite so much. Still a handy list.
You know, if Tabitha cast technomancy she would would have a very high check (+18) to identify the machine.
| Jasper Finn |
I'll pick up two vials of antitoxin as well.
Tabitha Flynn
|
Well, I know Tabitha will definitely pick up an antitoxin with the discount writ. And I have to ask, can I purchase scribing supplies with the discount? For both inscribing spells into spell book, and for supplies to make scrolls with?
Normally, to scribe a first level spell into a spell book, it costs 10 gold. And to make a scroll of a first level spell costs 12.5 gold. Does the discount affect that?
Also, I could not find any rules of pricing a scroll at your caster level if you are able to cast the spell at the higher caster level normally when inscribing it. So looks like for the same price of inscribing a first level, first caster level scroll, a wizard can inscribe a a higher caster level, first level scroll. Does that sound right?
| Triax Null |
A scroll is caster level x spell level x 25 to buy, or half that to scribe. So if you wanted mage armor at a level 2 caster level (your current level) it would be 2 x 1 x 25 = 50 to buy, or 2 x 1 12.5 = 25 to scribe.
You can choose to scribe it at a lower caster level - So you could scribe mage armor at caster level 1 and it would cost 1 x 1 x 12.5 = 12.5 gp to scribe.
Tabitha Flynn

I saw that in Herolabs, but I read the pathfinder SRD, and the CRB, and I couldn't find it. I believe you, but what book and page would the inscribing a scroll? I really want to read more on it, since I am going to making more scrolls in the future.
| Triax Null |
Here is one place:
Link
Search creating scrolls.
Just don't ask me about grapple rules.... (Ok, you can if you must)
Tabitha Flynn
|
Ah... Okay. Now I understand it. Thank you.
Well, that makes things a bit more expensive. At least it is correct now. So when I make that scroll of Heighten Awareness will be at the first caster level. So that is 10 minutes worth of perception and known knowledge goodness!
| Triax Null |
Don't read too much in the use of mistress. That's just my impression from older literature of how people used to address someone formally.
Master Bob or Mistress Sue, etc. Someone with stronger background in humanities feel free to correct me.
Tabitha Flynn
|
I understand. Though for the naive Tabitha, the only terms she might have heard mistress was that of a servant addressing their master/mistress. Or as a Pathfinder Society member, she may have heard it called many times of a certain Venture Captain with darker tastes. >.>
| Dejah Simin |
Dejah's excursion to Torch's general store & Tempting Tonics goes quite smoothly. Both Inkrit & Jhestine are happy to pay for the loot she has to sell, and she finds the antitoxin she seeks without much trouble.
Time line confusion. GM Ironcat, did you not say Dejah managed to sell the unwanted loot at the General Store already and purchased the antitoxins from Tempting Tonics? This happened before Tabitha and Triax dealt with Sanvil re the scrolls and oils. Tabitha now needs to make purchases at the General Store... Do we go back, again? Or can we say she got what she wanted when Dejah was there, making her transactions?
| Dejah Simin |
Honestly, I had initially thought Dejah was separate, too, but then Tabitha included her in her rp at Sanvil's and then I wasn't sure and just went with it. It's okay. I can always say Dejah was separate when she did her selling and buying thing and Tabby Cat can make her own way to the General Store (with Triax in tow). It would be good to wrap up this shopping rp and move forward.
Tabitha Flynn
|
Eep. I didn't realized we were separated from Dejah. I am sorry. >.<
Tabitha Flynn
|
Now, I have bit of a concern. GM, will I have discounts in terms of the inscribing supplies?
I am curious because when I'm putting a spell into my spell book, it is currently 10 gold worth of ink and such to add a first level spell to it. And to make a first level, caster level 1 scroll it costs 12.5 gold.
If they accept the discount, it will cost 8 gold to add a first level spell into my spell book, and 10 gold per first level, caster level 1 scroll. And if I wish to make a scroll at my caster level of 2, it would cost 20 gold. Which will help greatly if I choose to. Just trying to get down the specifics of what the right price would be.
Edit: And if we do go by the discount, Dejah will have a refund of 2.5 gold! ^_^
Tabitha Flynn
|
So with the discounts it comes to this.
Started with 115 Gold at the start:
- Spent 40g on Antitoxin
- 40g on scrolls of Air Bubble and Vanish
Which leaves 35 gold left over. That is for:
- Putting three spells into Spellbook: Air Bubble, Identify, and Vanish. 8 Gold per spell, total of 24 Gold.
- And a scroll for myself, most likely Mage Armor. 10 Gold.
- And with the money given from Dejah, a scroll of Heighten Awareness for her. 10 Gold. And she will have a refund of 2.5 Gold.
