Delta Green: Apocalypse

Game Master Darian Graey

The world has changed since the 1990's. The shadow games have gotten more deadly, the foes more public, and at every step, the sounds of dark tentacled things pounding at the gates of reality echo ever closer. Enters now the agents of N Cell.

Welcome everyone. First off, I hope everyone has finished up with character creation, if not, let me know and I'll help out if I can.

I would like to help flesh out the campaign and include as much input into designing the game to fit your characters as I can, so if you have things you want to develop around your agent, let me know here or privately at dearmsteadjr@aol.com.

From everyone I would like to get a Knowledge roll, to see how much,if anything, you may know about M Cell.

Also I would like to get a Luck roll, to see how the fates are viewing your agents at the start of the game. This roll will effect some of the things to come, but just how may not be readily apparent.

Also, if you aged your agent beyond EDU + 6, don't forget to include the bonus points and age modifiers.

Welcome to the Apocalypse.

1d200 ⇒ 63 Knowledge

1d100 ⇒ 66 Luck

Looking forward to a good game.

Reporting in with Aidan Rhune for final review and Dotting.

Will have my full alias created by today.

Cell N code name will be Nolan.

Do I have to explain were all my money is in assets, like house, car, etc... plus how much in the back?

Do I include standard weapons I would be using in the profile, like a rifle and hand gun?

Generally, 10% of the character's wealth (half of the yearly salary) is in cash and savings, with an additional equal amount in negotiable stocks, bonds, or transferrable assets. The remaining amount is considered home, transportation, and luxury items.

I'd say it would be ok to assume that normal equipment has already been bought and paid for, so it would be expected that you may own a personal handgun, perhaps a "hunting" related firearm as well, but just document them now please.

As to the bulk assets, it would suffice to say something like I rent my Washington DC apartment, own a family summer cottage in the Hamptons, and drive a 2009 Saab that has seen a few miles but is comfortable. Or maybe on the side, you have invested in a little start up computer company with an old buddy old pal from high school.

If you want it to be a part of your character, then let's make it known now.

Know1d100 ⇒ 17
Luck1d100 ⇒ 56

Also, since DG cells are three man, I am happy to remain Cell J(and retain the code name James, with its referential humour based on the Laundry and the real world James Jesus Angleton ), or take a cell N code name.

I will try to have everything about the gear and other stuff ready on Monday ^^

Zombieneighbors

Private:
Your Knowledge roll indicates you knew two of the members of M cell. I will let you pick which ones. The connection was casual, less than you might get to know a DG friendly, but enough that you have a thought or two about their lives. Occassionally you assisted them in research at the LoC. Let me know which ones and I'll give you a couple bits on each of the two. Your Luck roll indicated you are currently on sabbatical until February 21st due to Congress being in session, and records stacks being relocated for the new year.

Scranford

Private:
Your Luck roll indicates you have full-time access to your work laptop, a suprisingly up-to-date system which works with your "secret" external hard drive on which you store your hacker-stash programs.

Thanks. I'm in PR on a business trip, but should have access at night. I tried to post some background last night but the Internet wasn't cooperating (Common when I'm here). So I'll try again tonight.

Lol yay for Auto Correct?

Lol yes I cracked a laugh at the Jesus phone... in character it was just another nerd mocking religions with his miracle worker gadget.

Jesus Phone is slang term for the I Phone, referring to the way many early adopter of the I-phone(not to mention apple themselves), where like some kind of messianic cult.

For Agent Angleton

Patricia Michaels:
She worked with your governmental group briefly, looking for past dealings between a number of multi-national companies with ties specifically to the US, Eastern Europe, and South America. She was compiling a history of how the companies had developed and the interaction of the various groups financially. She mentioned it involved how the companies were interconnected in regards to certain trade and protection agreements that were up for renewal by Congress. She was a bit bored with her assignment, finding chasing down cold war companies to be a waste of her time. She longed for action, something her IRS duties never gave her. She seemed to chafe under the leadership of her cell, indicating her "bossy" boss, was a paranoid with the occassional gift of being right, but more importantly having known the "right" poeple. Your assessment, attractive but high maintenance, capable but conceited.

Detective Myers:
Myers was working the follow-up investigation into the affairs of the original members of N Cell, lost in Afghanistan to a roadside IED early last year. It was just routine casework for Delta Green, as the deaths were judged "casulaties of war" unrelated to their middle eastern assignment. Myers asked for your help in understanding the files and effluence that collected from the group having worked so many cases together. "I'm just a beat cop made good really, this stuff is over my head." He was a dedicated, hard working agent, though you detected he was starting to have his doubts; the futility of the agents' deaths struck him rather deeply. Your assessment, hardworking but he'd reached his ceiling, competent but without the drive for more. You suspect he may have had, or been developing, an alcohol addiction.

I assume that good agents always have a go-bag on standby, so I am foregoing any need to rush home before leaving.

Rhune and Thane head for the airport, making good time thru DC traffic. They have their travel iteneraries, the files on Mitchell, and their "official" cover docs. A valet takes their car at the airport, they are processed through Pre-Check quickly, your badges rushing you past the other passengers in line. By the time you arrive at the commuter terminal, you have roughly fifteen minutes before your flight boards. Outside the windows, a Colgan Air SF-340/B finishes final preflight inspection. Roughly ten other passengers wait with you to load. The small lounge is open, with two other passengers enjoying a drink and the TV news, waiting and relaxing. A small newstand and gift kiosk stands nearby, stocked with overpriced travel items and tourist geegaws.

Angleton and Marks have a bit more hectic drive from the restraunt to the storage facility. Was the traffic, the driver, or both, but a few narrow misses and you are there. The keys you were given are to Michaels' and Morozini's apartments. Each ring had an identical locker key you assume will let you into the storage unit, numbered 312 on the passcard. The facility seems to have both seasonal and climate controlled units of various sizes, indoor and open air, with a large backlot for storing vehicles, trailers and shipping containers. The passcard opens the security gate, a bored guard glances out his station window before turning attention back to his magazine. The unit is at the end of a side lane, a large 8' by 10' unit.

The flashdrive:
A brief check of the flash drive, a plug and peek before pulling out of the parking lot, indicates it has a list of current activities for each cell member, both in their official governmental positions as well as recent DG functions. Nothing appears updated over the last six months.

An RFID token is a security token. It uses radio frequency signals, typically to generate a numeric code that is specific to that registered token, for use with a specific security system. It can be used to track locations, allow access to secure areas or systems by entering the current numeric sequence, verified by said security system, or when combined with an additional passcode or word specific to an individual user.

See wikipedia for security token for examples and a better explaination than I can muster.

Angleton's Go Bag:

Angleton's go bag is a heavy duty rucksack
1 IPhone 4s with 'pay as you go' sim card
1 MacBook pro
1 clean Nokia "Burner"
1 IRIScanner Book 2(portable document scanner)
1 change of cloths(hipster edition)
1 change of cloths (climbing edition)
1 first aid kit
1 Tupperware box containing 2 snickers, assorted dried fruits and nuts.
1 tupperware box containing matches, fire-lighters, small maglight, compass, two glows ticks
1 climbing kit (Helmet, climbing shoes, harness, rope, belay plate, ascender, selection of, Carabiners, Cams, Nut and Hexes, Chalk bag with chalk.

I'm Sorry guys, I'm going to have to drop out of this one, Work has picked up, and I don;t ahve the time to post anymore. Hope it goes well!

Sorry to see you go Josh. With your permission, and the groups consent, I will NPC your gentleman, unless the group wishes to recruit someone else. If possible, perhaps you can rejoin should time permit.

I myself have been working mandatory overtime for the past two months, so I sympathize.

I have no problem if he is an NPC or you add a player I'm up for any options.

Male Human

As am I. Either way works for me.

Fine by me.

Sorry guys. I'm in West Virginia, dealing with getting power back and other related issues. Power is up and down, but should be stable by Friday. I should be able to post regularly by then. Thanks for being patient with me.

The investigation at the storage facility begins at about the same time as the flight boards and leaves Dulles, so the agents there have about an hour or so to examine and explore there before the others land in West Virginia and can be contacted.
