Forgot, can you credit 12784-701 Uploki with a Starfinder cert, thanks.

Level 5!
Awesome!
Isu will probably go another level of soldier. Mystic 1 is useful for providing a bit of healing, but mystic is a very slow burn and I think if I put more into it I won't be that effective for a very...very...long time.
Cellion, are you going to fast forward us a bit? Like, we can handwave getting out of the jungle, do some shopping at Absalom station, and you'll start us at the beginning of book 3? If so, we need to finalize the loot distribution and I can sell things off and see where we are in terms of credits.

LOOTS
I am going to distribute some loot-- if you don't want it, feel free to sell and keep the credits:
Squad Defiance series armor: Up for grabs, heavy armor, +5 EAC, +8 KAC
Arcalinte:
D-suit 1
Mk 1 thermal capacitor (gives fire and cold resist 5!)
2x Mk1 serum of healing
Solaria
psychic booster
liquidator disintegration pistol
2 batteries
disguise kit
Ted
2 shock grenades 1
9 incendiary grenades 1
spell gems of flight (2nd level)
spell gem see invisibility
Spectre
engineering kit
trapsmith kit
navigators tool
Sydney
liquidator disintegration pistol
2 batteries
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Those liquidator pistols are level 6 weapons! They have a short range but otherwise look really cool.
I'll figure out costs of everything to sell and distribute credits later.
GM Cellion |
Awesome, thanks for tackling loot Isu!
Spectre and Ted, do you have a SFS character you'd like to apply the Book 2 chronicle to? Isu, is Isu also an SFS character of 3rd or 4th level? If not, I think the chronicle can be held to apply once he gets in that level range. I'm not 100% on the rules.
We'll be fast-forwarding through the return trip through the jungle. Depending on how RP goes, you guys could be back on Absalom Station and able to start your sales and purchases by next weekend. Doing purchases and upgrades right now is A-OK. We've just got RP and such between now and then.
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Cellion, Isu is a SFS character(# 258259-703) but the only thing he has ever done is this campaign. I would guess that is enough to put him at the level is on now... Go ahead and apply it... I probably won't do SFS stuff with him anyway.
Also, Cellion I am interested in a mnenomic editor (500 credits) to fix some feat choices. I thought this should be cleared with you. Basically I want to get rid of cleave and skill focus (medicine) and pick some stuff that will be more useful.

12,044 total.
We each get 2007 credits

Sorry about posting so much. I am trying to level up and level 5 has a lot of stuff.
If I increase by constitution by 2, is this a retroactive affect on all my SP, or does it only apply from here on out?
GM Cellion |
Isu, each Dead Suns chronicle only gives you 1 level's worth of XP, so you'd need to do three other scenarios to be at a high enough level to apply the chronicle for Book 2. If you want, you can apply the chronicle to another 3rd or 4th level character that you've been using in other SFS play. Up to you.
By the normal rules, the Mnemonic Editor can only undo the most recent two levels of character choices (levels 3 and 4, I guess in this case). In this case, I'm happy to let you instead redo stuff from even earlier if you'd like. Make sure that whatever you select, you qualified for it at the level you were at.
Yep, stat bumps have a retroactive effect, so you'll be gaining +5 SP if you bump up CON by 2, or +5 skill points if you bump up INT by 2.
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Thanks for your flexibility on the mnemonic editor! Still trying to figure the game out, and some of these feats seems like traps after playing them a bit. (like cleave)
Isu is increasing str by 1, and then dex, con, and wisdom by 2. He is gaining a regular feat (enhanced resistance-kinetic) and a combat feat (mystic strike).
Cleave will be replaced by weapon focus (advanced melee) and skill focus(medicine) will be replaced by opening volley.

Wait, so my Culture is maxed even though I'm just putting ranks in it now?! I mean, that makes sense from a story-perspective given all that Arc's been learning, but I'm a little surprised.
I also don't want to miss out on RPing with the professors at the U, perhaps dealing with those smugglers and that dinner Arc's dad promised...
Solaria Jesari |
Solaria might be able to use Arc old light armour, she's not gonna get in a fight if she can help.....
Not sure what Arc's old armour is though ..
GM Cellion |
Two more requests:
If we do want to still do starship encounters, you guys should start thinking about refitting the Sunrise Maiden to Tier 5. (If no one wants to pick up the ship redesign, I can also provide a prebuilt Tier 5 ship for you to use).
@Arc: While we're certainly going back to the University, I'm going to have Arc's dinner with his dad as a side story concurrent with everything else (I'll use spoilers to keep it straight). I think that way we won't have the rest of the PCs excluded for a while while Arc catches up.
Arcalinte Soter |
Yea for the starship stuff. It's a core part of the Starfinder experience, and I think we'd be missing out if we cut it out. What I thing we were upset about in our last big dogfight was our relatively crummy luck, which let us get hammered by the enemy just after we'd gotten it. Plus, the Sunrise Maiden is kind of meant to be a character in and of itself, and if we cut it, we'll kinda lose that connection to the ship. It was also my first starship fight, so that may have played a factor in our struggle.
Thanks for the side-bit by the way. I know I'm a drama-llama, but I don't want that to make things drag.
Isu Greelax Zyte |
I like starship combat, but am not into designing them. I am happy with anyone designing it or with going with the prebuilt ship.

Basic Lashunta Tempweave.
Here's my level-up info!
Level 5:
Class Taken: Solarian
Class Feature Gained: 5 Fire/Cold Resistance for Solar Armor
Hit Points: 7
Stamina Points: 7+0
Skill Ranks (9): Athletics (1), Culture (5), Diplomacy (1), Perception (1), Stealth (1)
Feats: Enhanced Resistance (Kinetic Damage)
Arcalinte Soter |
Is that a detailed enough description? It's a bit tricky to try and describe what, for our characters, has been almost a month on expedition in a single conversation!
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Hey Arc, we are taking the same feat! (Enhanced Resistance-kinetic). I hope it is the right decision!
That 5 fire/cold resist-- is that from your class, or is that from the armor upgrade (mark 1 thermal capacitor)? Because if you don't need the armor upgrade Isu will take it.
In terms of items purchases, I am just getting the mnemomic editor and 80 bullets for the chain gun. They are very expensive, costing 90 credits for 20 bullets. I'll have to do a better job asking about ammunition left over on enemies.
Arcalinte Soter |
When solar armor solarians hit 5th level, their armor provides 5 resistance to either fire or cold when active, which they can switch at will. As such, I don't really need the upgrade that was already in it, so I swapped it out for the infrared sensors I already had. Though if I can afford a jetpack I may switch that out, at least temporarily, until I can afford a suit of rmor that can fit two upgrades.
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Sounds good, so I can take the mark 1 thermal capacitor?

To be fair, you were built to be our pilot, and we spent most of this episode planet-bound, so you didn't get to do what you were best at for the entire time. :(
S-P37 'Spectre' |
Hey all,
I just wanted to let you know I'll be on a road trip with limited internet access from today through June 26 (we're hitting Yosemite, Sequoia, Newport Beach, and the new Star Wars Land at Disney before it opens).
Please bot me, as necessary!
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Isu pulls out his battery charger upgrade from his armor. Anyone who uses batteries is welcome to take it.
Arcalinte Soter |
Since my INT increase gave me 5 ranks in Culture instead of just 1 like I expected, Arcalinte's gained a few new languages. Kasatha was what I originally took when I thought I had just one, and I've added to that Castrovelian, Celestial, Eoxian and the sign language version of Common, for a combination of making sense with the story (we're on Castrovel, and we've encountered people from Eox before), utility (sign language will be helpful if we're trying to communicate stealthily) and in-character reasons (Celestial because of Sarenrae and Kasatha for better understanding of solarian stuff).
Arc's going to be quite the polyglot by journey's end!
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Whoa now Arcaline Soter. Isu does not wish to hear how you plan to take many wives. Such things are immoral in the sight of Sarenrae.

GM Cellion |
Lol Isu. Clearly you're just not into 'velvet jedi knight'-chic.
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Yeah I am ready to move forward and go back to Absalom Station. How much is the honorarium?
Arcalinte Soter |
One more thing I wanted to do on Castrovel before we depart (apart from the "Family Reunion" segments that are taking place simultaneously) is register for the off-campus courses and pick up any relevant textbooks or course materials I'll need to study on-the-go, plus I wanted to see if I could find an elf (besides my dad and step-sister) tattooist who could replicate the tattoos depicted in the murals on me (that's why I specifically mentioned I was takin' pictures! :P).
Isu Greelax Zyte |
cellion, how much money is the honorarium for? Isu is heading out to the markets
Arcalinte Soter |
Before I make my next bigpost, any word on that tattooist, Cellion? And for selecting my "academic niche" so to speak, how specific do I have to get? Like, I imagine "xenoarchaeology" is too broad, but something like "xenocultural anthropology of solarian traditions and philosophy" is a bit too narrow?
Also, what happened to Ralkawi?
GM Cellion |
You can certainly find and acquire whatever tattoos you'd like (you don't need permission from me :>) and feel free to roleplay getting them as much or as little as you'd like. As for your question about your academic topic, I'll leave it up to you on how specific you think is appropriate. As I mentioned, take a look at the various Themes and see how general or specific they get. They vary quite a lot.
As for Ralkawi, I think she slipped through the cracks in all the other things I was trying to write about in my posts to wrap up Castrovel. If you want to retcon a discussion with her and try to influence her next actions, please feel free to do so. I'll give a little update on her with my next post as well.
Solaria Jesari |
Apologies, no excuses just wasn't up on my priorities list and kinda lost my way. Back on Monday with regular posting.
Isu Greelax Zyte |
Sydney, why don't you take the backup generator and add it to your armor upgrade slot? Since you need batteries, that will keep your nice and fresh.
Arcalinte Soter |
Anyone here listen to Gloryhammer? They're WONDERFULLY ridiculous science-fantasy power metal, and their aesthetic just SCREAMS Starfinder! XD
Sydney Jordan |
I really like the thematic element of the quick-release sheathe and Sydney only has one armor slot so I'm okay with selling the backup generator letting someone else have the generator or keeping it in the party inventory in case the party needs the generator later
I've never heard of Gloryhammer but it sounds like something Sydney might listen to. The lyrics might be a bit too bardic for her taste but the metal vibe is in the same family as the punk rock she likes
I'm going to be at the annual ALA conference in DC tomorrow until Monday afternoon. I won't be able to move my icon in Roll20 during that time but I cam post to Paizo on my phone
Arcalinte Soter |
I dunno about bardic, but definitely might be a little silly for Sydney's taste. They started specifically to parody power metal bands like Rhapsody of Fire and DragonForce, with a unicorn invasion of Scotland and things just spiraled out from there to include astral dwarves with crystal laser axes, fecal demons controlled by an evil space wizard, and a barbarian movie-star with a neutron-star heart who is also the king of California!
Its founder and keyboardist is actually from Alestorm (the pirate metal band) and he plays said evil space wizard!
GM Cellion |
Also, Cellion, I think you missed the Dinner with Dad segment in my last post.
Didn't miss it. I just didn't have enough time left after all the rest of the posting.
