Serila takes the haversack and opens it. She takes her own backpack off her back and puts it in the central pouch, then heaves the haversack onto her back.
"Wow... Amazing! I can actually walk now, instead of having to crawl!"
"Does anyone want one or some of the items in this sack, or shall I carry them with me for the time being?"
DM Giants
Ok where you guys going? Last marching order I remember was Farid, Ruthviren, Auxavier, Serlia and Bhoors bringing up the rear.
Bhoors Thistledown
"I guess we should go back to our original marching order."
Bhoors puts his dagger and lantern away he straps the new sword to his belt and readies his bow. "Did someone else want this Longwood? Its we made and silver. I am using it as back up if I need a free hand for light or if . . . you know werewolves. . it is the Vale after all."
DM Giants
Farid will head down the hall to the door and check it for traps.

.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Hallway ..........
Farid carefully leads the group east out of the trapped room to a ten foot wide hallway of crafted stone. Shortly after leaving the room the passage turns north and goes another fifty feet or so until the hallway splits in two; one passage to the west and one passage continuing north.
Serila Gudlinck
Serila nods at Auxavier. "Alright, just be careful."

.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Hallway ..........
The Half-Orc moves forward to scout using his Darkvision to peer thru the darkness ahead. The first passage to the west ends in a set of closed double doors just ten feet off the main passage. The second passage west ends in a dead end ten feet off the main passage.

.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Hallway ..........
Farid moves up to the double door in the first passage to the west and inspects them. Farid I'll use your roll from above to inspect the doors
The doors are locked but not trapped.
Farid Heydar
Farid looks at Aux, "Is it a dead end? No passageways hidden from the naked eye?"
He turns back to the door and tries to unlock it.

"Dwarves are known for such correct?" His statement begins sure but begs for reassurance from others.

Your quick attempt at the door's lock fails but you take a deep breath and spend a few more moments working with the lock then you hear a "click". The right door of the two opens just a crack.
DM Giants
Let's moved it along .... If I don't get a post from anyone by tomorrow evening I will move the group into the room beyond the door Farid is at.
Serila Gudlinck
Serila figures she'd better stay where she is for now, and waits for Auxavier or Farid to tell her what's beyond the doors.

.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Living Quarters ..........
This large thirty by twenty five foot chamber was clearly once the personal living quarters of an important dwarf. A simple stone bed stands in one corner near a large stone table. A large anvil also rests here, looking somewhat out of place. A massive maul has been attached to the anvil by a crude mechanical arm, and a dwarf skeleton, his skull crushed, rests atop the anvil.
Aux - please roll a perception check

Oops sorry! Didn't remember you rolled.

.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Living Quarters ..........
You see a Small Bronze winged creature on the anvil with the skeleton. You also see a half-finished obsidian statuette as well as an obsidian tablet rests on the table.
The robe on the skeleton has rotted almost to nothing, but his cloth slippers of have not yet succumbed to time’s rot. The skeleton’s left hand still bears a fire-blackened cold iron gauntlet.
DM Giants
You may try to identify the creature if you have Knowledge (Arcane)
The small bronze winged creature is a homunculus. A homunculus is a miniature construct, servant created by a spellcaster.

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
"Not a clue," Serila says as she ducks to look at the creature from under Auxavier's arm. "It's not a severed, flying head, though."
Serila hesitates for a moment, then nods firmly. "Stand ready, just in case."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Serila opens the door further and steps into the room, where she addresses the tiny creature: "Hello? My name's Serila, and I'm here with my friends to look for some missing children from our village. Do you happen to know if they're here?"
DM Giants
.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Living Quarters ..........
Serila's eye shine with an arcane glow as she speaks with the small bronze creature. It shakes it's head as if being awoken from a dream and slowly moves along the anvil closer to Serila at the doorway.
It's speaks to your mind. "... you are not my master ... he is dead ..." It touches the skeleton on the anvil. ... but you have a ... POWER ... in you ... I can sense it ...." It contiues to pace along the anvil bobbing its head like a bird. "... I have not see ... any children ..."
Bhoors Thistledown
"Fey. No one go to sleep on us."
Serila Gudlinck
Serila nods as she listens to the creature. "I don't fully understand how my powers work, but yes, I am a sorceress. I've also been blessed with a small portion of the powers of the Dawnflower, who raised me after an untimely death."
"It's friendly, but it hasn't seen the children," she quickly tells the others, before she turns back to the creature.
"I fear it's too late to help your master, I'm sorry... Could you tell me what happened to him? Is there anything I can do for you?"
DM Giants
.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Living Quarters ..........
Once again speaking to your mind."...my master killed himself .... even though I begged him not to.... He was the abbot of this monastery ... long ago when the dwarven ruled this region ..." When you ask if you can do anything for it seems to get excited. "....Yes you may be able ... you do have POWER ... strange POWER ... you may be able to release me ...
Serila Gudlinck
"You have been alone here all this time? Poor thing..."
Serila nods again, this time more firmly. "How can I release you?"
DM Giants
.......... Dwarven Ruins Basement - Living Quarters ..........
The small bronze winged creature hops excited on the anvil as Serila speaks with it.
Speaking to your mind. "... I do not know ... but my master did spend many hours ... in the library above studying ... maybe the answer is there ..."

Aux watches the strange exchange and thinks maybe the things voice is like a dog whistle, something he can not hear and Serilia can. Maybe that is why women think men are not listening......
Serila Gudlinck
"Then I'll go there," Serila tells the creature.
Turning to her allies, she says, "We need to go to the library upstairs, to set it free. It's currently bound to its master's corpse, which is a cruel fate to suffer."
Bhoors Thistledown
"Library? Did we fund a library?"
Serila Gudlinck
"It's bound here, Aux. To stay by its master's corpse..."
Serila ponders for a bit, then turns back to the creature. "We are here to search for some missing children, and we fear every moment we delay may have bad consequences for them. Are you fine with it if we continue to look for the children now, and come right back to you immediately after?"
Bhoors Thistledown
"Was it the room with the magic darkness?"
DM Giants
The library was where the snake attacked Bhoors.
