Sorry had some work to do. Papers are boring
Arek notices the others looking but stays out of it. He holds his handaxe tightly and now has his shield.

Following the goblins' trail, you come across a large cave in a hillside five miles from the scene of the ambush. A shallow stream flows out of the cave mouth, which is screened by dense briar thickets. A narrow dry path leads into the cave on the right side of the stream.
Map to come later today.

It was late morning when you were ambushed and having traversed five miles through forest with two slower moving dwarves. I am figuring it took you about a half hour per mile, so let's say it is early afternoon.
EDIT: Being the height of summer you can estimate that you have about 6 or 7 hours of Daylight left.
Drakr
Hey ease up on the short jokes :D... We dwarves are natural sprinters, we're wasted over long distances.
" I say we go in there's some time left in the day and the sunlight won't really matter once we are inside. It could be the difference between life or death for Gundren. "
Drakr looks worriedly at the cave mouth and the thickets.
Perception : 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 Any goblins on guard duty?
Amber the Righthanded
"The young sergeant here is right, our employers have suffered enough and, assuming they still live, need an immediate rescue.
"However, caution will keep us alive. We will lay in watch for five minutes, convene a plan of attack and storm the cave before they can react properly."
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (16) + 0 = 16
Arek Kai
Arek will aproach the stream looking around for goblins.
This would be a good ambush site. if there are no goblins, maybe we could take the are for ourselves.

Making your way to the mouth of the cave you spot two goblins playing a game involving a dogs leg, some dice and a knife. They spot you splashing across the stream and draw their bows.

Forgot the written description
On the east side of the stream flowing from the cave mouth, a small area in the briar thickets has been hollowed out to form a lookout post or blind. Wooden planks flatten out the briars and provide room for guards to lie hidden and watch the area- including a pair of goblins lurking their right now!
Sahil Reis
And Sahil fires his cross-bow.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

And Sahil starts to wonder, if he packed enough bolts.....
Drakr
Drakr has some bolts he probably will never use...
"Good job, shall we check out this cave? " Drakr picks up a pebble from the stream and chants for a moment the pebble begins to glow. " who's taking point? " he asks offering the pebble.
Casts light.
Amber the Righthanded
"Hmph," voices Amber as he watches his dwarf-comrade casts Light. Then he raises an eyebrow as Drakr passes the Light-pebble to a surface-dweller.
"Good idea really. Team player. Well thought on, Drakr."
Amber then repeats the gestures and incantations on a similar pebble. "Here's another for one of... here's another." He straightens and offers the pebble with a look that might be an embarrassed smile.

If ya light the wat, I'll still lead.
As the pebble is tossecd ahead, Anders looks into the cave for traps and enemies.

Just inside the cave mouth, a few uneven stone steps lead to a small, dank chamber on the east side of the passage. North is down in the map. The cave narrows to a steep fissure at the far end, and is filled with the stench of animals. Savage snarls and the sounds of rattling chains greet your ears where three wolves are chained just inside the opening. Each wolf's chain leads to an iron rod driven into the base of stalagmite.
Arek Kai
Arek brings down his axe from his shoulder.
If these belong to goblins its time to be an executioner.
He launches himself at a wolf, hoping it will be a clean hill.

It had to be done. Maybe if we stop these goblins from waylaying merchants I can get some good contracts. he mutters to himself, his voice picking up when he mentions contracts.

Everyone is going to be assumed to make it up the rope safely. In this room sacks and crates of looted provisions are piled up in the south end of this large cave. To the west, the floor slopes toward a narrow opening that descends into darkness. A larger opening leads north down a set of natural stone steps, the roar of falling water echoing from beyond. In the middle of the cavern, the coals of a large fire smolder.
In this room there is a bugbear wielding a longsword, alongside a mangy looking wolf, and two goblins. The bugbear roars, Who dares defy Klarg!?

With a quick swipe, Anders takes half of the hobgoblins head off. Leaving him to utter the words, Puny Humans before he drops to the ground.
The wolf moves to attack Anders.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 for 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 2 = 8 and you need to make a Strength saving throw DC 11 or be knocked prone.
The goblins fire their short bows at Anders, fearful they are next after their leader was taken out.

I believe all of you caravan guards are up.
Nice job on the roll, Anders. The hobgoblin in tandem with the wolf is quite a pair.
