Tariq, you don't notice any traps or treasure connected to the statue, but like Dwalindor you're surprised at how sharp the carving remains given the weathered nature of the passageway around you.

Any magic protecting this stone? Otherwise, I have heard tell of them there creatures which can freeze you to stone with their eyes or something. But I ain't sure those are real.

As soon as Dwalindor places the tooth in the first socket the tunnel begins to writhe and grind and shifts itself, orienting towards a new location and you see the tunnel move, the dead end becoming a yawning entrance deeper into the pyramid.
If you were going to continue moving the tooth after the tunnel reorients, the tunnel snakes around toward different other tunnels.

The snakelike passage opens out onto a hallway - doors to the north and south stand at the halfway point while beyond the hallway exits the stone walls of the tomb, becoming a ten-foot-wide catwalk suspended high above the ground in the open air. The sky above twinkles with panoply of stars, while wispy clouds move swiftly over a darkened world below. Approximately a hundred feet away, an opening in space seems to lead through a hole in the sky back into the pyramid.
