Round 2
HP: 34/34; AC 18
I move forward to O6.
I also stop my Bardic Performance as I have the lingering performance feat which will give everyone the +1 bonuses for 2 more rounds. (Will start again if these ghouls are not mostly fertilizer by then.)
Wildfire - you will have to alternate between Harry and Kanyk with your enlarge spells so that they do not get size envy.
Karlan Bladetwist
Karlan almost smiles as the horde of undead surge towards them. HE simply steps before them as a wall of justice before the tide of darkness allowing them to crash upon him and be broken.
"For victory! For the heart!"

Kanyk spends a few moments disentangling his hammer from the remains of the ghoul before striding forward straight into the fresh wave of ravening undead.
Kanyk walks straight up to the ghoul at Q11 and gives him a tap on the noggin.
1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 172d6 + 14 ⇒ (6, 6) + 14 = 26
Also, Harry you may be short changing yourself slightly. We're 4th level so power attack is now more awesome. -2 attack/+4 damage or +6 damage with two handed weapons.
Perdition Banderflash
Only within 15 feet,Harry.
Moving up up to shorten the range between him and the hoard Perdition, assess that group of undead and lets loose with with another blast of grease.
Move to M6 cast Grease centered on Q12. DC 16 Reflex, Duration 4 minutes, save or fall.

Round 3
I move to O11, attack the Ghoul at P12 with my rapier.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Damage:1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
With a mighty flourish I pull out my rapier and swing it through the air. The swing is so far from the ghoul that you are unsure whether I was attempting to hit the ghoul or am simply putting on a dance routine.
Celestra Zomesco
Round 3
hp: 26/26 AC: 17
With her tankard drawn in the left hand and the rapier in the right, Celestra once again calls upon Cayden Cailean to channel energy to damage all the undead in a 30 foot radius. No AoO.
"Once again, mighty Cayden, let your light shine upon them and show them what you really think of them!"
"By Cayden's light you will fall!"
Channel Energy (Will Save DC 16 for half) 2d6 ⇒ (3, 6) = 9
Celestra Zomesco
"Yowza!" Celestra shrieks out in a very undignified manner! "Way to go, Cayden! Hehe! I knew you were always there for me! Go for the last one, boys!"
Kanyk
Oh yeah, I forgot Harry was a rogue, not used to Rogues being all crazy with a greataxe and all that.
Fortitude save 1 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
Fortitude save 1 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Kanyk grimaces as the undead teeth sink into his arm, but rips his arm free just as the monster is engulfed and destroyed by a wave of delicious smelling light. With only one enemy still standing Kanyk strides up to him and continues his time honoured tradition of hitting things with hammers.
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 192d6 + 13 ⇒ (5, 6) + 13 = 24
DM Zyren/ Heart of Runes
Before the magnificent ghoul and boss of this part of Skinsaw Murders, Roger Caresby, is able to do anything, he is killed by a sword strike and a hole-in-one hammer blow. Arms spread wide he flies back into the barn...
The DM is sad, and so he takes Bestiary 2 and looks for a monster that is able to kill this party swiftly *sniff*

If it makes you feel bette rI calculated my damage wrong. Paladins do twice as much damage with a smite against undead. So add 4 more point to the corpse.
Looking aroound at the carnage wrought by steel and faith KArlan smiles. "Anyone badly hurt? How's the child?"
Ailetha Aurcalam
Ailetha surveys the area: Wow, I knew my jokes were bad, some might even say they are killer, but I never expected them to take out ghouls.
And with another flourish and a twirl, I sheath my rapier, trying to avoid stabbing myself in the process.
Perform(Dance): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
Celestra Zomesco
"Well, now I realize that all of my drinking really pays off when I need it to! We will have to have another good time in the pub this evening!"
Celestra rushes over to the child and immediately checks to see if he has any wounds from the undead and then she casts cure light wounds upon the child.
Heal Check 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Cure Light Wounds 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
"There you are, pet. You should be feeling much better now!"
Does Celestra notice any wounds that appear to be from the ghouls or if the child looks like he is infected with disease of any sort?
Kanyk
1 person marked this as a favorite.
Kanyk drops to one knee to examine the splattered remains of the group of Ghoul's apparent leader, searching for any clues as to why they attacked the farm and stripping the body of any valuables at the same time.
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
Job done he wanders over to get a better look at the child's injuries.
"How is it that the kid only has a few scratches after spending at least a few hours in a barn with near twenty of those ghouls? What reason did they have to keep the kid alive?"
Ailetha Aurcalam
Seeing Kanyk looking at something around the neck of the bloody remains of the ghoul leader, Ailetha takes a careful look at it.
Knowledge(nobility): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Hmmm, anyone here know the Foxglove family? This looks like their coat of arms.
Karlan Bladetwist
"We went boarhunting with one of their number about a month or two ago....for that matter when was the alst time any of us has seen Aldern?"
Karlan kicks over the lead ghoul and takes the mace away. He scans the bodies over to see if its anyone he recognizes.
Note to self: get some knowledge local.
Ailetha Aurcalam
Knowledge(local): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Ailetha thinks for a minute, you see her face scrunch up as she tries to remember whether she knows anything about the Foxgloves from her youth, she almost has it, but then suddenly realizes that she grew up in BRASTLEWARK in Cheliax. No clue why this gentleman would have this on. Have any of you ever seen this fellow before - before he decided to ghoul with the undead flow that is?
Celestra Zomesco
"Hmmm, anyone here know the Foxglove family? This looks like their coat of arms."
Knowledge, Local 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
"No, I can't say that I recognize that name. But thank Cayden that he was wearing it. I think it just saved his life!"
When the boy awakes (if the boy awakes) Celestra asks him, "What's your name, Pet? How are you feeling?"
Perdition Banderflash
"So that last fella seemed like thought he would be impressive or something, was he big deal in his past life?" the gnome ask after seeing the leader get the snot knocked out him the moment he opened the door. "Once we've gotten the answers we need from his body and belongings what are we going to do with his body? Do we need to take it back to town or deal with it here?"
Heavy Harry
"Stack the bodies high after getting as best a description of each we can, then stack the flames on higher. We need clear the shed, then ensure the grounds around us aren't lair to more of their crew"
DM Zyren/ Heart of Runes
The barn is empty now...empty besides the gruesome remains of several dead farmers and even more dead cattle. Looks like the ghouls had a real feast here. Walls and floor are caked with blood and the stench is horrible. After about an hour the child suddenly awakes with a scream like from a nightmare, he tries to crawl away from you, frantically searching for a way to flee...
Perdition Banderflash
"Let's pile them in the barn. I'll burn the whole place hot enough the bones won't even be left. There is no way we can let that man come back here to find that slaughter house. Ailetha, do have the ability to sketch of the remaining faces so people know what's come of their kin? Let me know when prepare the place to burn. Looking at the kid and then to the ladies he decides he knows the best way to calm the child. He moves between them and in a gentle voice says, "Easy son we came here to help." Raising his hands as if to offer the boy he says, "FLASH!" At his shout, a cone of brilliant colors erupts from his hands knocking boy uncounscious.
"There. That will give us time to get him away from here and this nightmare without frightening him anymore than necessary." Smiling and satisfied with his fine work he turns to the group and says,"So. Let's get what we need, burn the place the hell down, and get on back to town."
Cast Color Spray on the boy. Being well less than 2HD he will be a little miffed when he comes around but no longer will he see all his dead relatives or scary giants with big bloody axes. DC 16. And if he isn't affected, we know we need to kill him. :)
Celestra Zomesco
Celestra gathers up the boy in a motherly fashion and holds him kindly trying to settle him down.
"There, there, pet! You have no need to worry. Now, please tell us your name, my dear."
Diplomacy 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Ailetha Aurcalam
Feeling ill at all the death and murder, Ailetha looks at the dead:
I can try to sketch them, give me a few.
No clue what skill this would be, so I will just roll a d20 and DMZZ can decide what skill.
Sketching: 1d20 ⇒ 8
Celestra Zomesco
"I...Iam Ron H...Ham...Hambley, miss."
Celestra gently holds the young boy in her arms and rocks him gently."There there, pet. You are safe now. You are a very brave young lad. Now, tell me. Ron, who lived here at the farm with you?"
Ailetha Aurcalam
Seeing the boys cheerfully burning the remains of the poor lad's parents and family, I go over with Celestra and sing the boy a happy song not involving undead and deceased parents.
Perform(sing): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Got ninjaed by DMZZ - but hey, it is a song I could probably make millions off of apparently.
Celestra Zomesco
"Mum and dad and grandpa and Jervis and Fisley and Amanda and Rover our dog."
"What was your Grandpa's name, Ron?"
Upon hearing his answer, Celestra asks her companions.
"Did you think he was the old farmer that came into town to find help."
After Ailetha's song, Celestra remarks, "By Cayden's light, that was beautiful Ailetha! I had know idea that you were such a fine musician as well as a scholar. Would you be able to teach me how to sing like that?"
Celestra would not want to subject the boy to identifying corpses, but once we have ascertained identities, and/or clues to their identities, Celestra is fine with returning to Sandpoint.
Knowing what it is like to lose one's parents at a young age, Celestra stays very close to Ron and keeps a very close eye on him.
