Now that the effects will be silenced, Garret let's loose with an arrow at a surprised foe. He will concentrate on the bandits most likely to escape the effects of Tove's Silence spell first, bandits 3 and then 2.
Surprise round shot from stealth
Composite Long bow (point blank, blessed): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 231d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Rapid Shot and walking fire from Bandit 3 to Bandit 2 if an arrow drops the first target.

No difficult terrain. Ivo, you still have a clean shot at 5 which would have hit, just not point blank.

Grasses and vines spring to life, grabbing the ankles and legs of two of the bandits while others are magically silenced and yet another is silenced a more permanent way by Garet's arrows.
The two entangled bandits struggle away and eventually slip their bonds, but are unable to do much more, while the two silenced bandits drop their weapons and throw up their arms in surrender.
Jacobus, Torsten and Raz are up to end round one. Ivo, Tove, and Garet can post round 2 actions.
Garethane Seregon |
Garret motions to the two surrendered bandits to lay down. As long as they remain non-threatening, he won't engage them. He will give the remaining bandits a round to join their fellows in surrender. If the remaining armed bandits do something hostile, he will resume fire targeting the armed ones.
Jacobus Varadin |
Jacobus called on Abadar to aid him and then stepped into the silent circle, heavy mace in one hand and shield in the other.
He swung the mace trying to brain one of the bandits.

Raz moves up, but holds any attack while Jacobus lands a thunderous blow to the side a bandit's skull - knocking the unfortunate man out cold.
Garet stands by, his bow at the ready should it be needed.
Bump for Torsten, Ivo, and Tove.
Torsten Bock |
I'm betting the reason Ivo didn't take the long range shot on his own post is that without special tricks, sneak attack only works out to 30'.
Torsten moves up to get a clear shot then conjures and throws a spear. Strauch stays by his side to guard him.
attack bandit 6 w/splintered spear, 1 range incr.: 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 - 2 = 15

Tove Hellstrom |
Tove draws her longbow and follows Torsten's lead, not giving the unlucky bandit (6) closest to her a chance to surrender.
Longbow Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Longbow Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
Torsten hurls a spear into the chest of one of the bandits, staggering the unfortunate man, but not for long as Tove's arrow slams home dropping the man.
Meanwhile Ivo sinks another arrow into his previous target, further wounding the man.
The silenced man with two arrows drops to the ground, silently pleading for mercy.
Reflex 5: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
The enchanted plants once again entangle another bandit. Rather than struggle against the plants, he simply drops his weapons and surrenders.
Jacobus, Torsten and Raz are up to end round two. Ivo, Tove, and Garet can post round 3 actions.
Tove Hellstrom |
How many bandits are still posing a threat?
Razarak Medvyed |
"I say we knock them out so they can't scream as soon as they're outside the silence" Raz says, just loudly enough for the party members to hear him. "then we can take them back to a safe location and question them more about the fort, as well as put them on trial." if he hears no protests to that path, then he will walk up to the nearest bandit and attempt to knock them out with non lethal damage from his fists.
attack, non lethal: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
Raz walks up and unceremoniously knocks the bandit with two arrows sticking out of him out cold.
Seeing what is going on, the man caught in the entangle begins to struggle against the plants - fearful for his life.
Tove Hellstrom |
Tove turns her attention to the struggling bandit, blasting him with an admonishing ray of force in an attempt to knock him out too.

DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
Tove blasts the struggling bandit with a spell, nearly dropping him to the ground, but yet the bandit continues to struggle.
Jacobus and Torsten are up to end round two. Ivo and Garet can post round 3 actions.
Jacobus Varadin |
Jacobus raised his hands knowing full well that he would not be heard in the magical silence.
He still mouthed, "Drop your weapon and we'll spare your life."
He then motioned for the bandit to drop to his knees and be taken prisoner.

DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
The enchanted plants once again entangle another bandit. Rather than struggle against the plants, he simply drops his weapons and surrenders.
The only one still conscious had dropped his weapons and had only begun to struggle again after Raz knocked out his "friend".
Razarak Medvyed |
"We only need one prisoner. Keep struggling and you shall forfeit your chance at redemption... And survival." Raz mouths to the currently struggling and last standing bandit.
Garethane Seregon |
Garret really wishes he would have brought some blunt arrows.
He reluctantly moves to a location to where he can bring the last conscious, unarmed man into point blank range and readies an arrow. If the bandit makes it out of the entangle, he will fire.
He mouths the words "Don't do it."
Readied shot

Seemingly understanding Garet's meaning and piecing together what Raz was trying to get across, the remaining bandit stops moving and struggling.
Out of rounds. Feel free to interact as you will.
Garethane Seregon |
Garret nods gravely to the last bandit and takes the tension out of his bow. With Ivo providing cover he will advance forward to bind and gag the remaining bandit while the silence spell is still up. Those that remain breathing will get similar treatment.
Jacobus Varadin |
Jacobus nodded to reassure the bandits that they hadn't forfeited their lives. Yet.
Once outside the circle of silence, he stated, "There's no need to die today. Just cooperate and you'll be fine. Now, how many more inside? What defenses are there in place?"

intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26
DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
None of the bandits are actually dead at the moment, although that could change without medical attention.
"Depends on the day." the bandit responds, "Typically five or six beyond Dovan."
"Don't really no much about defenses...just the building itself and the watch towers."
Tove Hellstrom |
Tove takes stock of the bandit's conditions, and seeing that no ones' wounds have yet proven fatal, turns to her companions.
"Help me bind these men while they can't struggle, and then I will see what Erastil might do for their wounds."
The same drill as at the farmstead: Once the bandits are secure, Tove will gather them and anyone else in need of healing and Channel Energy until everyone is stable.
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 3) = 4
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 4) = 5
Erastil isn't feeling very generous tonight...
Razarak Medvyed |
Raz will help Tove bind and blind the bandits, and removing all weapons off the bandits so they can't make a break for it.
Garethane Seregon |
Gareth's eyes once again take on a golden sheen as he quietly asks, "Once our guests are all bound, gagged, and stabilized, should we move them further from the fort to discuss things?"
Feral focus returned to default Perception +4
DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
You had just finished binding the remaining bandits, when Tove channeled Erastil's healing mercy over the group.
At first the previously unconscious bandits begin to struggle before the one who had surrendered in the entangle says, "Just stop...we're beaten and at the mercy of these folks. Cooperate and you might get to see another sunrise."
Razarak Medvyed |
"that's right, give us information about the fort and how to overcome it's defenses, and we might be lenient. But not here, we have to move away so your friends dont accidently hear us." Raz says, before slipping a gag into his mouth.
Razarak Medvyed |
I say we move the bandits out of detection range, question them about the fort, then put them on trial and deal with them as weve been, then set up another ambush for a likely second patrol looking for their missing compatriots
Tove Hellstrom |
Raz’s plan sounds good to me.
Tove gruffly helps the bandits to their feet and begins to march them back away from the fort.
Garethane Seregon |
Raz's plan likewise sounds good to me.
Garret will police up the area of the combat to make sure nothing is left to "tell tales" before joining in escorting the bandits further from the fort.
DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
The party drags the captured bandits away from the ambush site to interrogate them.
Upon arriving at your chosen destination, the bandits sit quietly awaiting questioning.
Razarak Medvyed |
anything that will help, as well as making sure their stories line up so we have accurate info, then putting them on trial.
Garethane Seregon |
I would really like to know if they have any prisoners or are holding anything that belongs to locals. Returning either would be useful for bolstering our reputations. If some of them are aren't complete pieces of crap, we could always some followers.
DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
Okay, so what are we doing? You get essentially same answers from each bandit in terms of numbers within the outpost. If you are wanting to ask further questions, such as the information Garet would like, ask the questions in character and with the appropriate bluff, diplomacy, or intimidate roll.
Tove Hellstrom |
Back in the safety of the hunter's blind, Tove prays for Erastil's guidance (Enhanced Diplomacy) briefly before beginning her interrogation of the captives.
"I'm going to make this quick, folks. We are agents of the Dragonscale Throne, tasked with ridding this area of its rife banditry. We came here looking for a man called Dovan. We've heard from a man named Dutch that he used to work for the Stag Lord before breaking off on his own."
"If any of you would care to confirm any of this story, or wish to offer up some additional information, you may find us to be quite lenient in our sentencing you tonight."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 8 + 2 = 20
The cleric pauses briefly, before adding, "We've also heard that your boss in there isn't above taking young women from their fathers in place of gold. So if you've got anyone up in that fort that doesn't belong there, now would be the time to let us know that too. Erastil's good grace will not be enough to spare you from me if I find you've been untrue on that front."
Razarak Medvyed |
[B]I also don't like being lied to, if any of your information proves false,or you omit ANYTHING that would help us your end will be swift. However, if you prove to be truthful and prove your repentance for your past crimes, we can find some honest

Razarak Medvyed |
for some reason it wouldn't show the buttons for posting with the full post, so had to break it up, sorry all
DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
No worries on the formatting difficulties.
One of the bandits speaks up after Tove's questions and Raz's urging to cooperate for their own good. "Yeah, that's the right of it. Dovan is in there and he used to be the Stag Lord's second-in-command...keeps muttering something about some guy called...Akiros...at least I think that's the name."
Hearing the additional question about Dovan's alternate payment methods, another bandit speaks. "I'm pretty sure he's got one now...assuming he hasn't gotten bored with her yet. The ones he get's bored with get put in the shed or worse."
Razarak Medvyed |
"what about schedules; resupply, guard, patrol, the like? And sleeping quarters? We need all the information you have. Also about this Dovan as well, if he has any weaknesses we can exploit." Raz asks after the bandits seem to open
Razarak Medvyed |
more formatting issues up to them, trying to gather as much info to make the upcoming fight as easy as possible
DM Talomyr - Kingmaker |
"Resupply? Schedules? What part of bandits are you having issues understanding? We resupply by raiding, the only schedules are when we swing by to pick up 'tribute' or protection money from the locals." a third bandit incredulously says.
"Dovan's the only one who always sleeps in the outpost all the time. If we have overflow, tents will be set up - but that's a rarity to have that many of us here at any one time."
A fourth speaks up saying, "Dovan is arrogant as can be and maybe a bit overconfident, but don't take that as he's stupid or not dangerous."
