I'm happy with the stats I rolled (an 18 and a 17? yahoo!).

I don't care what stats anyone else rolled. :-)

I finished up Big Ern, so he should be ready to roll.

Kevin, any possibility that Big Ern can be Majet's alchemical apprentice? Maybe they met in the woods or something like that.

How about the other way round? Would be kind of amusing having an apprentice who knows more about the subject than the teacher.

Kevin Mack wrote:

Ha ha! Sounds good -- Big Ern probably considers himself an expert on every subject.

Oh and one of the traits ive taken say I get a horse. Would it be to much trouble to change it to a riding dog?

Dark Archive

Time to play catch up! :D

6d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2, 1, 5, 6) = 16=13
6d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5, 3, 6, 3) = 27=16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 1) = 12=11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 6, 5) = 20=16
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 5) = 18=17
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 1) = 11=10

Ahhh I'm not sure how I forgot to do that, thank you for pointing that out, a put the +2 on his charisma.

DM Sothal wrote:

Also, what bonus do you choose for your Favored Class?

Rogue of course! Forgive me for leaving that off I'll fix it.

EDIT: Oh it was already there and I looked over it myself-So I can see where you might have missed it. Under the Stats spoiler and then under the Heading of Abilities.

DM Sothal wrote:

Could you point out where your traits are from?

Brigand is from the Kingmaker player's guide and Threatening defender is from Cheliax:Empire of Devils. My character isn't from cheliax although he likely is of Chelish descent, but I didn't think the trait itself seemed all that tied to Cheliax, and I figured it was something developed from a childhood of robbery and generally being the arch typical rapier-wielding highwayman character.

That being said it is your game and I understand completely if you'd rather me pick a different trait.

DM Sothal wrote:

Checking your gear, it seems way too much, even accounting for your Brigand-Trait. PCGen says 554.52gp expended.

Ahh, again this was my mistake- You see in Matius' original game the characters got a free masterwork weapon and I believe that was what was putting me way over the top. I added up the prices again and even made some changes and I think I should be okay now.

Thanks Sothal, Anything else?

Hogarth I have to say I'm fascinated by the concept of "Big Ern."

I'm definitely looking forward to this one!

No problem with the stat rolls here. As I said before, I was leaning towards a front-line fighter, but would also consider an oracle. After looking everything over, I figured why not do both? I'm going with a human oracle of battle.

Yeah, I don't know for now... We will see how that much power turns out in play. Rest asured that I won't pull any punches on all of you because of that. ;)

I'm okay with that.

Welcome Justin Sluder by the way!

Rogue as favored class I had seen, but wether you get a bonus hitpoint or skillpoint isn't clear to me.

Let me look the rest (trait, gear, numbers...) over again sometime else, I haven't got the head for it now.
(Too bad most of the traits and the APG-classes aren't coded for PCGen for now. And I'm too much of a noob with it to get it these things to work properly...)

Looks like everybody's in now. I'm waiting for the PC's to get done then (take your time, no need to hurry), and maybe/probably we can start right after the easter holidays.

Strange enough, most of your Skills are one point off... Craft (Bows), Perception and Knowledge (Geography) as well as Survival are right though.
Somehow PCGen won't let me select Giant as one of your bonus languages, probably not on the Elf-list. What else will be bonus language?
Please point out the source of your traits too.
Looks like you only spent 43,5gp of your 250, but you probably want to spend some more money on mundane gear, right?
AC is 17, not 14; Will should be +0 not +2, rest seems good.

Made corrections and updates, I should be done creating this character. I chose Giant as a language because I plan to take Giant as my next favored enemy. If you don't allow me to do so I will just have to purchase it when the time comes.

Looking at your Skills again, you seem to have forgotten to add in the Armor check penalty of -2 to the DEX based skills.

Threatening Defender is okay, I just didn't want to have to go through all possible books and then some to find it.
Gear seems okay now.

I'm okay with you having Giant as language, but I just can't make it work in PCGen (like so many other things).

Please point out the source of your traits.
The rest seems okay.

Both? Then you might be missguided. You should only have one Campaign trait.

But yes, please note that in your profile.

Are we required to take a Campaign trait? They all seem to imply being from Brevoy, but I was going to make my character a Numerian. Can we choose two from the PFRPG character traits supplement?

Generally speaking, you can have at most one campaign trait. Zero is fine, too.

As Big Ern said: You can have one campaign trait, and I'd recommend you to have one, but you aren't required to.

You may choose any two traits that are not of the same type (basic, combat, magic...) and which are not campaign traits from other Adventure Paths.

Thanks Dax.

I've set up a bit of info in the DM's profile. Anything else I should put in there?
I haven't had time to look over Bran and Majet closely yet, will hopefully get to that today.

I am finished enough to play.

I need to flesh out my background, personality an appearance.

As well as designate my hirelings.

I so nearly went for a Cavalier, the class is almost exactly how I am going to play. Do not be surprised if I suddenly change class before we start, but would break my core rule book promise.

Change it to Cavalier. Now. Or Multiclass later. No switching classes the minute before we start.

I'm giving Justin Sluder some time to get his character in.

By Tuesday the characters should be finalised! I don't know if I have the Ingame-thread up on Tuesday or Wednesday, but somewhen along that we should be able to play.

DM Sothal wrote:

I agree, I will not be changing it, I just worded my comment badly, I was trying to say I like the idea of Cavaliers, but I don't use anythin apart from core rule books. I blame the late night posting :-)

Want me to name and flesh out the hirelings? Standard 3d6 rolls? Level 1 Noble and Level 1 Warrior or commoner?

Ah, okay.

My response sounds quite harsh, re-reading it not. What I wanted to say: I would not mind if you want to play a cavalier. But you would have to decide that now and go with it from there on.

(I have to remark though: I don't understand your 'thumb down' on the APG.)

Name your hirelings. Give me some pointers to what you were looking for, when you hired them. I'll flesh them out.
I assume you might want to take leadership later on?

Liberty's Edge

Just poking in to verify I'm still around.

Micheal looks good, but I wouldn't be opposed to seeing him as a Cavalier. (certainly not telling you how to build your character though AllDMs =])

Only reason for not going APG Cavalier is I do not intend to use them in my own home games. There are up to 8 of us and some are casual players, so we limit it purely to core rule book and campaign specific add ons. In the past when we have added in extra books, the complexity has caused us problems, so once bitten twice shy.

So while I really like the idea of the Cavalier as it could easily fill the concept of Michael, a Paladin can do the same roll just as well. And to be fair I think I am the only person who can do any sort of mass healing (eventually). So from a group point of view we had better keep me a Paladin.

I am pretty certain Michael the Bastard is finished now.

I probably will take Leadership if the game calls for it, as the players guide basically points out we end up ruling somewhere, I think it will be useful.

Here are my two hirelings ideas:

Hobson. Male Half-Elven Elderly Major Domo. Had served my mothers family for years and now serves me. Was thinking of him being a NPC class Noble, he would probably have age penalties and bonuses (if they still exist). Have you ever seen the Dudley Moore film Arthur? If so, his butler in that film is my inspiration, played by Sir John Gielgud who won a Best Supporting Actor Oscar for the roll.
Hobson is the only reason that Michael thinks he is related to the defunct royal family, if his story is true, is completely up to you.

Kay. Male(?) Human teen. Recruited by Hobson to serve as Michael's squire. You can do what you want here as I have no concrete ideas for the hard put on errand boy. I did toy with the old classic he is actually a she, cliché I know. Go wild as you want here. I was assuming warrior as it leads into Paladin or Fighter.

I brought an Ox pulled cart for them to travel in and do not even have a horse myself, but I do have a saddle.

Gamemaster

Hobson and Kay are basically fleshed out. Hope you like em. I need to assign some gear soon, but will have that done by tuesday, I hope.

Michael and Aggeron as well as Majet look okay so far.
(Please point out the source of your traits though.)

Regarding Bran: how did he come to have a wolf?

F Gnome Alchamist 2

DM Sothal wrote:

I think it's a copy/paste error from a previous character who was a druid (along with references to a scimitar, for instance).

Greetings friends! When do we set out to meet our futures?!

Let me know what else you want/need for Devlin and Delfey.

As hograth pointed out it came from another pc, I am not done and tend to rework em section by section in place of deleting the whole thing..saves me from retyping alot of the same stuff. This name was a necromancer and a druid and now a wizard once more

So the the wolf and gear will be changed by the time we start. Hopefully by monday

Looking okay. I haven't looked into summoners too often, but I think I will have to.

Okay. Seems like everyone is aboard.
I'm gonna go ahead and start up the PBP thread. You are going to be on the way from Restov towards Oleg's traiding outpost, along the South Rostland road, travelling something close to 100miles westward. Time enough to get to know one another and get used to the people traveling with you.

Let's see how that turns out. ;)

Yay!

Traits, now list the source.

Hobson and Kay look super, although my Squire is 7 years older than me, so you may want to adjust that, unless that was your intention.

@Michael: Updated Hobson and Kay. Them got equipment now. (Equipment having no location listed is somewhere on the cart.)

As for the PBP: I'm letting things flow freely until Tuesday or Wednesday.
We then jump foreward to your arrival at Oleg's Trading Post, where the real adventure begins.

By the way, it's not even clear what a Golarion atheist is... (Sean K Reynolds claimed that's a feature, not a bug.)
