If there aren’t any more of you captured then I suggest we hunker down for the night and get back to your homes tomorrow. No sense trying to make you or Lucky walk in the dark. NARRATOR GS Map / SS MAP/

You send the villagers back to Shinnermann's Fortune and the miners set off on their own.

After leaving the ogre camp, you all eventually reach the edge of the mountain forest, where the stream they’ve been following—now a river—drops down into a large, winding valley. A wide, well-trodden trail, which is clearly the path the giants used to raid Shinnerman’s Fortune and the surrounding area, descends into the valley alongside the river. The giants call this canyon Minderhal’s Valley, after the ancient cathedral built in honor of the giant god.

The valley lies beneath the slopes of several tall mountains, carved by a snaking river fed by numerous mountain streams that spill from the Mindspins’ icy spires. These mountains are thousands of feet high, with steep slopes, cliffs, and rock walls.

It is immediately apparent that moving across the valley floor will be significantly easier than traversing the mountain slopes above the valley.

The valley floor is considered trackless plains. Assuming a speed of 30 feet, the PCs should be able to cover 18 miles per day.

You travel unhindered through out the day and make camp for the night.

What is the watch order?

Arriving at the edge of the forest Kurag takes out the geode and compares the landscape before him to the crystal map.

Perception 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
Know geography 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Once he gets himself acclimated to his location then he worries about trying to make a clear path through the valley without getting lost or losing too much time. As they travel he keeps an eye out for any dangerous or natural pitfalls.

Perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (18) + 13 = 31

Should he see an opportunity he also tries to shoot down some wild game to increase their food supply should they need to be concerned about it.

Survival 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32

They made decent headway that day and Kurag used his faster speed while mounted in Lucky to continually range before and behind the group making sure that nothing would surprise them on the trackless plains. At night approached though Kurag looked for as defendable a position as possible in the plains. He took second watch to keep anything from sneaking up on them in the middle of the night.

Perception 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25
Stealth on watch 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24
Survival 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (17) + 19 = 36
