"Blast you." Zigil channels energy at the overgrown chew toy.

"I hope this is effective. I don't have a lot of these left."

Zigil:
Are you sure that's how you want to channel? What is the *1.5 from?

Grodar continues his assault on the skeleton's legs.
Brawler's Flurry, Part 1: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 2 = 19

Male Elder GM

Zigil's channel seems to have very little effect on the skeleton, but Grodar is able to break its pelvis with a pair of well-placed strikes, and the skeleton clatters to the ground.

As the badly wounded heroes catch their breath, movement can be heard in the cave beyond.

Zigil now realizes he totally misunderstood Giles' previous request. If he has time, he will make sure everyone is close enough and channel energy to heal the wounded. channel energy: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7

If there is time to do a second one, he will. channel energy: 2d6 ⇒ (6, 5) = 11.

DM:

I assumed the skeleton was undead and not just animated. Should've asked.

The extra half damage comes from the Aasimar Favored class(cleric): Add +1/2 to damage when using positive energy against undead or using Alignment Channel to damage evil outsiders.

Male Elder GM

Zigil:
The skeleton was undead, but channeling to harm comes with a Will save for half damage.
I think you have misunderstood that racial trait. Each time you take the favoured class bonus it adds 1/2 hit point to the damage you do. Check out the 4th paragraph here. After all, you can take your favoured class bonus at every level, and there is no way a stacking multiplier on channel is the same as a hp or skill rank. I had missed that you were doing that, because swarms take 1.5 x damage from area effects.
Feel free to change it if you wish.

Androgynous Aasimar Cleric 4; Init +0; Darkvision 60; Per +10; AC 19 (flat 19/touch 10/shieldless 17); HP 36; F+6, R +1, W+8

DM:
Oh, man, I really did misinterpret that. To be fair, it never occurred to me I'd get that bonus every level or that would have made me suspicious. (Cuz adding 1 1/2 times the damage to my channeling at 3rd level would be freakin' awesome!)

I didn't know about the 1 1/2 times damage from area effects, but that explains why my mistake didn't get flagged till the giant.

Thanks for letting me fix it. I want to think about whether I would take the skill rank or the extra 1/2 point of damage on channeling at each level. I'll fix my sheet tonight or tomorrow. I'll check Haer Kul's sheet too and make sure I didn't take a favored class bonus on top of the skill rank.

I am unsure of the passage of time here. If we have spent 2 rounds holding back, then everyone has been healed for up to 18 HP. If just 1, then 7.

Zigil follows Giles' lead.

Male Human Ranger (trapper) 4. HP: 40/40 AC: 19/13/16 F:+6 R:+7 W:+4 Init:+3 Perc: +9

In that case two rounds then we go.

Male Elder GM

Yes, I assumed the pause was longer than 12 seconds ;)

The opening leads to an open, high-ceilinged, natural cavern with ledges and stairs carved into its walls. Embedded in a fifteen-foot-tall spire of centuries-old bones stands the skeleton of a massive armoured warrior. Though its flesh has long since rotted off its frame, the skeleton still stands proud and regal amid the trappings of battle and mounds of gleaming treasure. The skeleton’s battered halfplate and scarred helmet hint at its many battles, and the warlord’s hands are clenched around a massive stone hammer.

At the far end of the cavern, a pair of huge wolves guard the steps leading to a ledge where a tall, gangly, heavily-tattooed, blond half-orc stands with a flask in hand.
