"Now we need to find the 'Boneclaw!' Something about that name makes me think it might not be as simple as getting the first two's signatures."
| DM Rah |
Makorios congratulates you again on obtaining a second signature then leads you towards Lictor DiViri's office.
Lictor’s Keep, also called the Keep of Tyranny, is located in the center of Bastion Dominus. Rising two stories above the open bailey, this forbidding structure features few windows, each seemingly narrower than the last, and a roof rife with spikes of iron and stone. You enter into the first floor of the structure, called the Hall of Edicts, which is an austere courtroom of sorts where the order’s lictor and lesser tribunals judge those who have violated the law.
The Hall of Edicts is ominously furnished, containing a low-hanging chandelier made of smoky glass and bookshelves filled with leather-bound tomes. A wide stack of yellowed, black-bound volumes sits atop a raised dais—the ebony-colored judge’s bench—in the center of the room. Makorios shows the affidavit to the contingent of elite Hellknight guards watching the entrance to the tower, and the guards stand aside to let you pass. Once inside, the field maralictor hands back the affidavit, gives you a stoic glare, then turns and exits to await your return.
Across the Hall, hard at work reviewing upcoming dockets and past sentences yet to be carried out, Lictor Severs “Boneclaw” DiViri sits behind the imposing bench. His right hand is fully engulfed in a prominent, black steel gauntlet; shadows from the candlelight chandelier make the scars on his face seem even more ghoulish.
The lictor looks up at you, seemingly annoyed at the interruption—until he realizes you are Pathfinders. He extends his good arm to receive the affidavit, and makes a tight-lipped demand:
"Tell me what you know."

DiViri sighs, slams down the evidence, and swears profusely. Clearly irate, he signs the affidavit and begins a gruff address. “That my order would accept a falsely accused prisoner, and one who is a Chelish paracountess, no less? Completely unacceptable! No payment assuages that fact! Pathfinders, I know now that what you say is true: Paracountess Zarta Dralneen is innocent. And thus, she must be freed. I assume you wish to escort her from our custody? Yes, good. This embarrassing error must righted."
“Travel to the southernmost end of the keep; there, beneath a tower called the Forgetful Spire, you’ll find an entrance to our oubliette—a place we call Caina. Pay no mind to what or who you find there, for they are meant to be forgotten. Just give this certified affidavit to Maralictor Ganden Heriphis, the oubliette’s keeper. He’ll know what to do. Now, quickly, be on your way—this blunder will be rectified promptly or not at all!”
With signed affidavit in hand, you are free to head toward the Forgotten Spire, a place to which Field-Maralictor Makorios is happy lead.

lol no doubt, Haris .
"Excellent. We are honored to have had the opportunity to speak to you on this injustice. Your word and prompt actions will help rectify the matter and everyone will be happily on their way in short order. You have our gratitude.. " Omrax bows as they leave for the tower.
| DM Rah |
Makorios escorts you to the Forgetful Spire, but leaves you to descend alone. "I am not fond of the prisons and so will await you here. Your papers are in order, with signatures that no one can doubt. There is only one guard in Caina, Maralictor Ganden Heriphis. Give the affidavit to him."
The musty staircase hidden below Forgetful Spire leads to an oubliette containing a dark, dreadful grouping of prison cells that the Hellknights call Caina, after the infernal realm of torture and pain. Prison cells dominate both the room’s north and south walls; the largest of these serves as a torture chamber for prisoners whose sentence also includes correction with devices such as racks and bottomless chairs. A thick column lined with bloody stains stands in the center of the main room; the torches mounted on it throw grim light upon all the oubliette’s horrors. A desk sits along the east wall; from there a single guard can keep an eye on all of the cells.
Two of the three southern prison cells are occupied by figures who lie prostrate on hard, stained wooden benches. These figures make no sounds. On the desk is an enormous black helmet tipped with wicked-looking horns—a traditional Hellknight helm. Maralictor Ganden Heriphis, the sole guard in charge of Caina, stands up from behind his desk across the room. "Get over here," he commands as he waits for you to cross the room and stand before his desk.
A tall man, Heriphis has sharp green eyes and dark, shoulder-length hair streaked with white. Sitting at either side of him are two thin, lanky wolf creatures with reddish-brown fur, white claws, and burning, fiery red eyes.
Heriphis gets right to the point. "You're the Pathfinders? Let me see the Affidavit."

Ah that's right. I would wait since I'm not that effective without it. If I hit, I have an AC 26 against that critter due to Offensive Defensive.

Haris, acrobatics slows your movement when used (basically twice the movement cost for squares tumbled in), so you don't have enough movement to get to a flanking position and attack this round. Also, you moved past 2 threatening creatures, so you would need to roll twice.
You can move through a threatened square without provoking an attack of opportunity from an enemy by using Acrobatics. When moving in this way, you move at half speed. You can move at full speed by increasing the DC of the check by 10. You cannot use Acrobatics to move past foes if your speed is reduced due to carrying a medium or heavy load or wearing medium or heavy armor. If an ability allows you to move at full speed under such conditions, you can use Acrobatics to move past foes. You can use Acrobatics in this way while prone, but doing so requires a full-round action to move 5 feet, and the DC is increased by 5. If you attempt to move through an enemy's space and fail the check, you lose the move action and provoke an attack of opportunity.
Also, the DC increases by +2 for every additional opponent you attempt to avoid.

"Hey!" A man calls from behind the bars of one of the cells. "M'name's Markus Gael. Been in here for 8 months after confessing to allegations of selling Hellknight secrets to Shoanti leaders. I'm an armiger. You're looking for the Paracountess? The lady who was in that cell?" He motions to the cell next to him. "Yeah, I know how you can get her. She was in that cell for three weeks before Heriphis took her through a flaming portal. It's trapped though. I can tell you how to get by it if you let me out of here though."
In another cell a disheveled woman creeps forwards and whispers, "Please, please, I'd like to speak with you." She motions someone closer before continuing. "My name is Sascha Antif-Arah. I was captured 5 years ago in Korvosa while helping a friend identify a strange puzzle box. I am the victim of the Hellknights’ ruthless iron rule of law and unjustly convicted of crimes I never committed, I swear I didn't."
"You are Pathfinders, right? I was a Pathfinder in my younger years. Please, help me. I can still help the Society if I'm let out. I'm even willing to come out of retirement. Just let me out and I can sneak out myself. Of course, it'd be a lot easier with some sort of magical form of concealment or invisibility."
"Now I've overheard much during my 5-year imprisonment. The warden's got a figurine he uses and I've heard the command word plenty of times. He trains those pets here and then sneaks them out of Caina using invisibility magic. He takes people through that portal with the figurine and they never come back but them beasts keep coming. He's clearly got some sort of deal going on. Where he takes them I don't know."
