Smoke from Two-Rivers |
Slightly indisposed of for the moment as I've chosen to play with my ferret with my slight free time instead of PbPing. Sorry! Tomorrow, you'll hear from me!
Cadas |
I am good with that. If we did not have the prisoner I'd say we head down the tunnel immediately. But since we do need to drop him off we might as well get rid of the heavy stuff.
No rush to upgrade the armor. When we have enough, split fairly Cadas will upgrade. She seems to be doing fine.
DM DoctorEvil |
Savah's will buy most normal quality or better weapons or adventuring equipment. These will be at 50% of the PRD buy price + your 10% bonus. So normal thieves tools would be 50gp (by PRD) x 1/2 = 25 gp +10% =27.5 gp.
Just give me the list of what you're selling and your estimated amount. Also would like to know if you're keeping the cash or throwing in the community distribution pool.
Smoke from Two-Rivers |
Hey-- don't make fun of my ferret. He's a kind and gentle creature with sharp teeth.
Cadas |
There is also the:
6 small black felt pouches with gold inside - who can appraise?
8 small black felt pouches with silver inside - who can appraise?
silver earrings - who can appraise?
composite shortbow w/ 18 arrows = 84 gold, selling for 42ish
Tinuviel Surana |
Tinuviel takes a look at the loot Cadas mentioned.
Appraise: Gold pouches 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Appraise: Silver pouches 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Appraise: earrings 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13
Are the earrings pretty?
DM DoctorEvil |
Hey Robin, the markup at Savah's is 10% not 20%. The new total is actually 71.5 gp. I also think the value of a composite shortbow and 18 arrows is 75.9 gp, so the marked up value is 37.95gp.
Tinuviel looks at the gold power and says they are likely worth 50gp each. (you can sell for that price). So total of 300gp. The silver is harder to quantify but she estimates at between 4-6 gp each so a total of 32-48. She cannot determine value of the earrings. They are silver stud type earrings, pretty but not extraordinary.
Savah says she'll give you 36 gp for the silver dust. And 25 gp for the pair of silver earrings. Let me know if you take it. Assuming you sell the other things?
Have updated the Loot Tracker appropriately. If someone else wants a stab at Appraise, lmk.
Cadas |
Appraise is untrained...
Appraise gold : 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14
Appraise silver: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (12) + 0 = 12
Appraise ear rings: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (17) + 0 = 17
I'd hate to think Savah would rip off the "heros". :)
DM DoctorEvil |
heck: A DC 20 Appraise check determines the value of a common item. If you succeed by 5 or more, you also determine if the item has magic properties, although this success does not grant knowledge of the magic item's abilities. If your fail the check by less than 5, you determine the price of that item to within 20% of its actual value. If you fail this check by 5 or more, the price is wildly inaccurate, subject to GM discretion. Particularly rare or exotic items might increase the DC of this check by 5 or more.
Bold type mine. Cadas' estimates the silver earrings at between 20-30gp but isn't quite sure the value. She can't give a good guess on the precious metal dusts.
I went ahead and sold the Gold Dust, LMK if you want to take Savah;'s offer on the silver dust and the earrings, or if they match your ensemble enough to just keep for yourself.
Smoke from Two-Rivers |
Smoke can also roll dice!
Gold Dust 1d20 ⇒ 10
Silver Dust 1d20 ⇒ 12
Silver Earrings 1d20 ⇒ 15
Cadas |
DM DoctorEvil |
Lots of appraisals, but no real answers. Tinuviel had already accurately appraised the gold dust, and deciding that the golden shower might be in bad taste, she sold it already.
No one can accurately predict the silver dust and earrings, but you have an offer of 36gp for the silver and 25 for the earrings. These offers fall within what you expect for the goods. You can take this or hold the items for another appraise roll-fest later.
You also still have the magical flask that remains unidentified for later.

I had the recruitment open until tonight, but have not checked over there so it's probably extended until tomorrow. Right now, rogue/skill type is weakest (or was last I checked it). I can also use a rogue type in a CotCT I am inheriting to run as the DM disappeared.
Hmm. Since the time I see this posted was 1:05 am, a literal reading means that you had recruitment open through Saturday but will extend it until sometime Sunday. Yet somehow I suspect you intended it to mean a day earlier.
Regardless, you have failed to let me know if I have time to submit an entry. If I post something this evening will it receive consideration?
Cadas |
FYI:
I'll be headed to Dragon Con this Thursday afternoon and will not return until Monday late. I am not sure how much free time I'll have or what the internet situation will be like. I predict my posting will be sparse, but not nonexistent. Please bot me if I am too slow to support the group.
Cadas |
I'd like to meet up too. I'll mostly be in the PFS area. Kyie and Nani (Venture Captains) know me so you can ask them who I am. Ask for Harry.
Or if you want to give me a cell number I'll call you. Are you playing any PFS?
Cadas |
Rather large fails to capture it. Over the years is has really grown. It now fills up Downtown Atlanta. Certainly is the largest sifi con in the south.
Smoke from Two-Rivers |
Sorry for my absence! I was really busy for the last couple of days and my computer decided to fritz out a bit as well-- lots of random crashes minutes after starting the computer, so I couldn't really get a lot across. Apologies!

Hi all. I am back from the con. I played nine 5 hour slots of PFS and averaged maybe 5 hours of sleep a night for four nights. I'll be doing my best to catch up on everything and post tomorrow. Its good to be back home, and back with the game. :)
Looks like I need to lay some major heals on Smoke. Hang in there Smoke. Heals commin on line. :)
Cadas |
Hey smoke - All my spells have been on you and while I still have some channels left, your tactics are proving too risly to keep you healed. OOC you might want to consider a little more conservative play so that when I do channel more that just you benefits from it. I am not suggesting not fighting, but maybe staying with the group so as not to get flanked as much and targeted exclusively as much. Otherwise I'll be out of party healing AND you will be down.
The only alternative is is to rest more often. If we can get a wand of cure light that would fix the problem too, for now.
Smoke from Two-Rivers |
I've been hit three times over the course of the entire campaign for a total of something like 7 until the last two fights. Where Tsuto attacked me exclusively while Rogar was flanking him (and then used acrobatics to move away from Rogar so he was threatening only me). Then last fight our benevolent DM had Smoke run up into the enemy's full attack range and Rogar stepped away right after, leaving me as the sole remaining target. It still only tagged me once.
But, honestly, channel longevity is a fine concern. But be advised: You're asking me to not engage the enemies so they can move up to Tinuviel and Robin and get in full attack reach. This'll make your channels last longer because they'll heal more overall and give the monsters more targets to choose from. The alternative is Smoke continues tanking the enemies with Rogar and they will keep choosing to attack the barb because Rogar's a steel plated battle god and Smoke doesn't even have a shirt on. :P
We do need a wand of cure light wounds. I'm really hoping there's some stuff down here so a wand might be in our future. And if there's a good amount, I'll probably buy my own wand just for you to use on me because I don't plan on focusing a lot on AC on this character.
On a sidenote: My computer's not crashing anymore. Hooray!
Cadas |
You could get a pole arm and attack over the dwarf. :P
I am not sure what the solution is. Ideally my cleric wants to buff and fight. But if I use all my spells to heal and buff you, I don't get to do that. What I could do is use my channels to heal and and spells to buff, and when I am out of channels we rest.
Sometimes we need a raging barbarian to charge through the enemy to stop him from getting away. And sometimes not.
Rogar Stefanssen |
Personally, I'm not terribly worried. I can use any CLW once we get one if you have to spend your healing resources on keeping the bull up, and you're not worried about keeping yourself healed, you don't have to worry about me. My gold is going to start going into my shield with each level, due to my getting shield master at level 6 and being able to apply my shield's defensive enchantment bonuses to my offensive bonuses.
Basically, I'm saying don't worry about the dwarf, let the Barb swing away, a dead enemy can't do damage anyways (unless it's undead. dun dun dun)

Not sure if any of you are PFS players, but if so you should be aware of this event which is a huge effort to build interest in PbP PFS. I am running a game (Silent Tide 00-01) and playing in a few others. Many tiers and scenarios are represented, but you must join up at Warhorn site to officially sign up. Here is the link for the events.
Note, they all won;t be on the same day via PbP format, but will kick off at about the same time. Go and sign up for your favorite game or DM.
