Misha Keroun
Hey folks, I'm heading out for a few days, and any thread checking will likely be intermittent at best. Be back Sunday or Monday.
Misha will follow along as the rear guard as usual, and pausing to look at weird carvings as is her wont.
DM Papa.DRB
@Misha - Have a good time.
I have updated the two macros (initiative and perception) for all my games. I took the numbers from your alias pages. Please let me know if anything is incorrect:
Josef: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 0 = 8
Kreig: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28 Trap Spotter, +1 Trapfinding, +2 Unusual Stonework, +2 Checks related to metals, jewels, gemstones
Misha: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25 +2 Underground
Rikar: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21 +6 Underground
Latys: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Telman: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (17) + 15 = 32
Therena: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Josef: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
Kreig: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Misha: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 +2 Underground
Rikar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 +6 Underground
Latys – Same as Rikar: 1d1 ⇒ 1
Telman: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Therena: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14
Foe: 1d20 ⇒ 20
Misha Keroun
I am back!
The updated rolls look right.
DRB, how do you do those macros? Is it in your browser or a different program? I'd love to steal your idea for my own game. I think you might have explained before and I admit I am too lazy to look.
I've read the thread and Misha's got nothing to add -- we're basically waiting for the door to open, right?
BTW, FWIW we've always played silence that way, same with light.
DM Papa.DRB
ShortKeys is what I use for the macros. I set the prefix to "--", so for this campaign, I type "-- m-in" without the space and without the " and it auto replaces that string with the spoiler & dice text for Initiative.

Rikar Sarakin
DRB - Will take me a bit to level up, I'm in a bit of a busy patch.
I'm thinking of retraining Cleave, as it's a lot less useful at higher levels - any issues with that? I might also pick up some of the feats that build on Cleave, but I'd like to know if you're okay with retraining a feat.
Rikar Sarakin
I recalled that Cleave is one of Rikar's bonus feats for two-handed weapon style as a ranger, so there's less room for retraining it - I'll just leave it as is. I picked up Improved Iron Will as my level 13 feat, for everyone's sake - last thing I want is for Rikar to be dominated and begin mowing down his friends.
Various other aspects of leveling up:
+2 to Favored Terrain (underground), which will affect initiative, perception, stealth, etc.
Picked up Fast Stealth as a ranger talent (Combined with Camouflage, when in my favored terrain, I can now move at my full speed of 50' and take 10 on Stealth for a 35, without cover or concealment. You'll never see me!)
DM Papa.DRB
@Telman - Thanks for the notice.
@All -
Apologies for the absence.
I should have posted Saturday that there was a possibility of being off-line till today (Thursday) because of many added activities to my wife and my schedule, mostly revolving around our four year old granddaughter. Losing internet access at the campground and the dang heat wave in NY did not help the situation either.
I will get a post up after lunch, three of four hours at the latest, unless the wifi goes down again, which it has on/off this morning.

Rikar Sarakin
No worries, DRB.
I will be travelling August 20-25 and available only occasionally to post, but I'll try to check in when I can.

Scroll Chances: (High is good!)
Chain Lightning 1d100 ⇒ 19
Disintegrage 1d100 ⇒ 96
Form of the Dragon 1 1d100 ⇒ 87
Heroism, Greater 1d100 ⇒ 78
Wall of Iron 1d100 ⇒ 24
Woot!
Looks like ol' Josef's gonna be stuck scribing scrolls for a bit.
Just gotta find out just how much cash we end up with.
Misha Keroun
Whoah, realized I hadn't leveled Misha yet. (I know I shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth, but I find the rate at which we're leveling a bit worrisome. ;p ) I'll work on that.
DM Papa.DRB
@Misha - I caught he ';p )' but thought the following would be useful information for @All if youse guys choose to read it. Some spoilers, but nothing major.
The mountain is broken into nine chapters and each chapter has one or more areas (maps) as part of it. You are currently in chapter seven and also about 70+% of the way thru the adventure, if everything going forward is explored.
For this chapter of the mountain, Area L <-> Ogginnogg <-> ??, you should have been Level 13 or 14 at the start. I have been keeping you about 1 or 2 levels behind since there are six members of the group, not counting Latys.
For the next chapter of the mountain, Area ?? thru Area ??, you are supposed to be Level 15 or 16 at the start.
Unless something goes terribly askew, you will make Level 14 at the end of this chapter and move into the next chapter, thus still 1 or 2 levels behind.
I drop encounters and combine some since it is PbP rather than at my dining room table; and give XP when you bypass non-critical stuff, ie. you did not finish the Frost / Fire Giant area, but you did the main points and got to the next area so you got XP for the Fire Giant side even though you did not explore it.
There is also a possibility that you might completely bypass one of the areas in this chapter and / or the next chapter. While I won't give full XP for that, you will need to be somewhere between Level 17 and 20 to survive the last small area, where you encounter ................ and learn the final secret of the mountain.

Telman Raoul
Will be back from House of Mouse by the weekend, hope to have the level up done soon after. Will be another arcane archer level I think .....
Misha Keroun
Misha is finally leveled. Learned 1 3rd level spell (communal tongues), 1 4th level spell (from favored class) (break enchantment), and 2 5th level spells (joyful rapture and ki shout). Chose Two Weapon Defense for feat (banal, but a +1 to AC is a +1 to AC). Skill increases went to (I think -- I think I was half asleep when I did this) Diplomacy, Knowledge Dungeoneering, Knowledge History, Knowledge Local, Perception, Sense Motive, Use Magic Device.

Re: loot tracker.
Did we sell the various drow weapon & armor packages we picked up?
Should be like 6 or 8 elite drow packages, plus a couple of wizard sets, maybe a rogue or two...
DM Papa.DRB
Tomorrow, Thursday 2016/08/25, my wife and I are heading back to town to pick up our four year old grand daughter and bring her to the campground. She is with us till Sunday afternoon, when we drop her off back at her home. The kids, our daughter and son-in-law, are having an "adult" weekend away.
I should be able to keep up with posting, but just letting you know that this little bundle of energy has a knack of wearing out us two old farts, so if I miss a day or two, that is why.

Updated the loot tracker (Thanks again, Rikar) with sold values for the various drow guard/wizard/etc gear we snagged.
Things which have NOT been included on the "sold" list:
crossbow bolts 32
poisoned bolts 10
CMW potion 12
resist acid 30 potion 1
potion invisibility 2
potion haste 1
wand invis (22chg) 1
wand MM III (16chg) 1
Wizard spellbook 1
Ring of Evasion 1
Scroll of Daylight 2
Oil of Bless Weapon 1
Pearl of Power 1 1
I believe Therena was going to take the MM III wand, and the pearl of power 1 which Josef did not take.
I also left the captured drow wizard spellbook in inventory (mostly so Josef can take the illusion spells at a later time) for now.
If no-one takes the ring of evasion (really?) that's an additional 1041.6 gp / person once we find somewhere to sell it.
Kreig Ironhand
Sorry gang. Last minute work and side project woes consumed way too much time. I'll get caught up and back into the mix!
Telman Raoul
Finally back from Disney - 19 hrs in the car really takes it out of you! Give me a day or so to recover and I'll have the level up done.
Misha Keroun
Whoops, sorry, I thought I had posted that question about the wand of invisibility in the discussion thread. Sorry for spamming the gameplay thread.
Josef, I think the thing with the Ring of Evasion is that at least three of us have the ability naturally (Krieg, Rikar, and Misha--I in fact have improved evasion). I think someone else already has a ring of evasion as well, though I could be wrong. I believe you have two rings you don't want to give up.
Therena or Telman, if you don't have a ring of evasion and want one, speak now. Otherwise let's sell it.
With the current total of funds in the pool that is my share, plus 302 gp in Misha's pocket, plus the sale of the wand of invisibility, I think I have 4,610 gp.
I am thinking about upgrading my cloak of resistance to +2 (selling the +1 one). But do they have one?
Chance of wondrous item <60: 1d100 ⇒ 66
They do not, sadly.
Mmmm, perhaps keep for another purchase later? Hmmm....
Sorry it's taking us so long to make decisions, Papa!

Yeah, having the ring of wizardry & protection is more important to me than having evasion.
Besides, my reflex save is pretty crappy, so it would likely be useless for me.
I'm cool with more gold, after all!
Kreig Ironhand
Ugh! Work work work work!
Misha, Kreig will definitely buy that wand of Invisibility off of ya! 22 opportunities to stabby-stab or leave a rubber band twisty in a drow's hair? I'll take it! Say 2,000 for it?
Realizing how much coin he's got, Kreig retires from the dungeon to head back to Kaer Maga and reopen his business! j/k
Ok. I've got work, an online Dungeon World game tonight, I should be able to get done leveling and purchasing Saturday. Again, sorry for the delays!
Kreig Ironhand
Might have found something...

Misha Keroun
Krieg, you can HAVE my wand. I took it because no one else claimed it at the time, and I thought it might come in handy. But i can also cast the spell.
Misha Keroun
I think I'm gonna hold off on buying anything for now, unless this is our last chance to buy gear for awhile. What I'd really like is to add an elemental damage property to one of my swords (probably the +1 one or buy a new +1/elemental damage sword) but as you can't really just upgrade gear like that I don't have the funds for it.
Kreig Ironhand
For the wand, Misha, Kreig is thinking this will give you extra cash to spend around town since you wouldn't be selling the wands to the gnomes. I'm good either way.
I'm looking forward to flinging a poison dagger, have it teleport back to me sheath then Quick Draw it for more stabby-stab in the same turn!
Telman Raoul
working on the level up now. I've decided to delay spellcasting progression to increase damage: Im taking a Fighter level (bringing me to 8th) which gives me three feats:
1) for my Lvl 13 feat I take Snapshot so next time Im surrounded by 3 drow Im not taking AOOs as I shoot them.
2) for the Bonus Feat (Ftr 8) I take Caster's Champion: with my +12 BAB I can use a swift to get +4 damage per arrow for the round
3) as a level 8 Ftr I get to swap out a previous bonus feat. Ive yet to use Focused Shot so Im going to drop it and replace it with Deadly Aim: with my +12 BAB, if I use it thats -4 to hit and +8 to damage per arrow.
should have the profile updated with all stats by tomorrow...
+1BAB
+1 Fort
+1 Perception, Acrobatics, Stealth, Spellcraft, K(D)
DRB: as for buying magic items, any thoughts/objections to stacking elemental damage on a weapon? example: my default for the AA ability is frost damage, but if I buy a corrosive bow are you OK with it doing frost and acid damage? I know RAW its allowed but many DMs feel its kind of cheesy......
Misha Keroun
Telman, we've been waiting for you to weigh in on the ring of evasion, btw. You're literally the only one who could use it.
Telman Raoul
Telman, we've been waiting for you to weigh in on the ring of evasion, btw. You're literally the only one who could use it.
Sorry, not sure how I missed that! I will certainly grab that if not one else can use it.
Telman Raoul
@Telman - Corrosive bow is ok.
low, please 1d100 ⇒ 99
well then, no corrosive composite longbow for me.....le sighback to Ultimate Equipment!
Misha Keroun
This might be a lesson in why it might be better to provide an available list of items (even if randomly generated) rather than say "chance of x." It's hard to come up with a list of desired items and frustrating after you come up with a list and THEN you find out nothing you want is in stock.
Telman Raoul
yeah, but Ive been known to agonize over the list then just grab the same standard items I always do..... for example:
again, low please
Wand of CLW (750) 1d100 ⇒ 59 yup
quick runners shirt (1000) 1d100 ⇒ 11 yup
arrow of dragon slaying (2282) 1d100 ⇒ 88 nope, ironic
cloak of resistance +2 (4000) 1d100 ⇒ 22 yup
but sometimes I do find interesting new things to try...
Gloves of Arcane Striking (5000) 1d100 ⇒ 71 yup
Amulet of Elemental Strife (4000) 1d100 ⇒ 93 nope, also ironic
OK, no new bow but lots of cool new toys. level up to be posted shortly!
Rikar Sarakin
We could probably use some more antitoxin and the like, no?
Kreig Ironhand
Put me down for 5 vials each of Antitoxin and Antiplague. 500gp
Misha Keroun
Do you have
Potion of Resist fire <75: 1d100 ⇒ 69
Potion of Resist Cold <75: 1d100 ⇒ 47
I will buy one of each for 600 gp. That's all for now.
Josef Guardson

Buying scrolls and Scribing materials only, just have to decide which ones with my limited coin.
Plus a few antitoxin and antiplague vials.
