Pushing against the door you find it stuck and looking in thru the display window you can see a display case propped up against that so you climb in thru the shattered window.
The inside of the store is about 20 by 50 feet, with a ladder leading up to what looks like an attic, however the hatch is closed. As you step in four goblins, unseen by the group jump up and attack the closest person to them and scratching Hilde and Iskender.

Hilde swings a blow that would have decimated the goblin, if it had hit, but it flies high over the creatures head as it ducks. Zaladrel ignores the beastie on him and provides everyone a bit of serendipitous luck for their attacks. Kit, even with the luck, misses the goblin on him, while Iskender kills his, and Dilwyn uses his lightning arc to kill the one that was on Zaladrel.
The two remaining goblins swing at Hilde and Kit, but only wound Kit.

Hilde swings at the pesky goblin that has been swinging at her and obliterates it to a simple blood spot on the floor. While Zaladrel continues to concentrate, it seems not to matter as the rest of the crew miss the remaining goblin.
Seeing all its companions fall, the last goblin standing decides to head for the hills and attempts to run out the broken window, however Dilwyn critically hits it and the last goblin is dead.
As you look around after the carnage, Dilwyn hears a slight noise from the room above. The only way to get up there is by the ladder that leads to the hatch in the ceiling.

Dilwn points to his ear then points to the roof as soon as he hears the noise from above, then moves to below the trapdoor. He uses the end of his staff to make a firm, but not overpowering, knock on the underside of the door.
"Hello, up there!" he calls in a (hopefully) friendly voice. "We happened upon and slew the goblins down here. We're here to help, and we're going to come up, okay?"

Dilwyn climbs the short ladder and pushes open the trapdoor. A terrible stench fills this long attic. Near a straw bed in the southwest corner, the half-eaten body of a man hangs from a simple, iron chain looped over a rafter.
Suddenly from behind he is stabbed in the back and is very seriously wounded.

She will quickly climb up and try to cover Dylwin from whatever creature attacked him.

"I think that punctured a kidney," Dilwyn says, in quite a lot of pain. he tries to put a little bit of distance between himself and his surprise assailant, just enough to pull out a scroll and heal himself a bit.

It's a bit better, at least enough that he should hopefully be able to withstand another blow now that he knows there's an enemy up here.

Dilwyn drops to the floor, and pulling a scroll from his pack reads it and heals himself of some of his wounds. As he does this, Hilde climbs the short ladder and manages to squeeze her way into the attic through the trapdoor and sees that there is a bugbear there with a large weapon.
The bugbear swings at Hilde, but misses. It then moves into a corner so it can not be flanked.
Kit climbs the ladder and also squeezes into the attic.

Kit, I used your turn to get you into the attic. @All - Because of the tight fit going thru the trapdoor it takes a full round action to climb the ladder and get into the attic.

This seems like the sort of powerful opponent that makes it worth doing a little extra preparation for the fight. As the thing backs into the corner, Dilwyn concentrates on his staff, toughening the wood until it's as tough as steel.

Kit focuses completely on the bugbear in the attic, and attacks and wounds it. Zaladrel, lets the warriors in the group move up the ladder and stays below. Iskender starts singing to inspire the group to greater heights of combat, which Hilde promptly takes advantage of as she severely wounds the bugbear. Dilwyn uses a spell to create a magic cudgel of his quarterstaff and starts to climb the ladder.
The bugbear, enraged itself at the hit it took from Hilde, returns the favor and wounds the raging barbarian badly.

A very angry Hilde cuts the bugbear rogue down with her greatsword, splattering blood all over.
After the battle, you search the lair of this creature, and find that she has on her a masterwork greataxe, leather armor, a necklace made of mostly human ears, noses and tongues, and a potion of invisibility.
There is a pile of loot that she obviously has collected from the people she has killed, and you find 15 gp, 114 sp, a decorative darkwood bracelet of elven design, a small velvet pouch holding five uncut agates, five potions of cure light wounds, and a blood-smeared extremely well made rapier.
The body hanging from the rafters is a human male that has been partially eaten.
