Tog has other commitments, so we currently have four players, once Oldmar checks in. Shall we run with four, or recruit? I've sent a message to Feral, haven't heard back yet.
I can go either way.
Edit: Feral wants nothing to do with us. ;)
Go with four or seek some more? (Note: I promise this is not a scenario in which I'm going to be speaking in rhyme a whole bunch.)

#201. Never ninja your PbP DM when he spends half an hour on a post. ;p
Edit: great list, by the way, I hadn't seen that before.

Funny story: my family is currently fostering a litter of 4 kittens, which we gave Norse names to: Astrid, Magnus, Sven and Ingrid. I named Astrid the cleric in this game after one of them. Well, Astrid went to get neutered today, and it turns out the shelter goofed on the gender - Astrid is actually Yngvar!
Typing her name just now made me chuckle, thought I'd share it.
p.s. - anyone need a kitten? We've got three available!

Well, that last fight was the final encounter. I have a long, busy day today, and am leaving for PaizoCon early Friday, so I may not have time this week for closing posts and chronicles. But I'll get to them as soon as I can.
Thanks for playing, I enjoyed this a lot.
Hakotep Flaxseed |
Thanks GM! It was a fun time! Glad I got to pull Hakotep here out. Since I decided to make all future characters into halfling Flaxseed characters, I'm trying desperately to make them all different. I thought the crazy godking/pharaoh approach made him stand out a bit from his relatives.

Thanks, DM!
I've been seriously considering doing an audio dramatization of this PbP... so if anyone would be interested in something like that, lemme know. I've got the perfect voice in mind for Sobestian...
DM Khel |
Glad you guys had a good time. Hakotep was definitely a different sort of halfling, and in general this has been a very entertaining group of characters.
I love that you are thinking of an audio play based on this game, Rokdor - makes me very happy to think it was interesting enough to inspire such thoughts.
I'd be into running another game, if folks are interested - but first I have to finish this one, and go to PaizoCon! I'm hoping to get a post up tonight, and am leaving Friday morning for PaizoCon, back on Wednesday of next week, with limited time to post while I'm traveling.

I am likewise enjoying playing with this group, and am definitely up for another! I am out of the woods regarding real-life craziness, so I should be more regular about posting (sorry about that) and making higher quality posts.
Thanks for running, Khel!

Also, on the subject of audio dramatization: not sure how I can help, but that sounds like a fun idea! I must insist though that Oldmar have no hint of a dwarvish accent. Perfect diction please :)
Rokdor Goblinbreaker |
Hmm... I imagine Oldmar as having a bit of a gruff voice, but I hadn't really considered accent. I'm not even sure what you mean by a "dwarvish" one. :P
I'd be up for another as well... Rokdor gets to lebel to 2!

Hey all - Please post the following info for chronicles:
PFS#
Faction
Day Job Roll
I'll assume that no one is playing their level 1 Core character on slow track, but let me know if that's wrong.
DM Khel |
Okay, I'm looking at the chronicles and realizing I haven't run a season 3 scenario before. I'm looking at the gold values, and for skipping the evil doll in the hut, you don't get the gold for that - which deducts 167 gp, leaving each of you getting 335 gp. That's very low, no?
Am I doing that right? Is there some standard that gets applied, that people just do max gold all the time (which is usually what I've seen, but I've usually done all the encounters)?
Thoughts?
Oldmar Lucridious |
I'm 90% sure I've seen John Compton or Mike Brock post about this, but my search-fu fails me. I think the general gist is you get the gold if you defeat or bypass an encounter, and you only lose the gold if you are defeated by (ie die, get left for dead, or are forced to run away) an encounter, or as stated in the Development text.
I suppose this is a bit on the border, and you could say we failed the 'Explore' portion of the Society motto. But it also didn't attack us, so why should we risk the goblins and attack it unprovoked?
Your call! :)
DM Khel |
That's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for, Oldmar - full gold for all! I'll have chronicles up tonight (I think).
DM Khel |
Here are Chronicles for All!
Thanks again for playing, I'll follow up probably next week about a new game.
DM Khel |
Hey Gang - I just downloaded Night March of Kalkamedes to play as our next Core game.
Sound good? I need to read it and prep some maps and such, and I'm recruiting another friend to join us, so it won't start right away.
Y'all in?
DM Khel |
X*1 / X will probably get us to right around 1, Rokdor, but I can always fudge the math if necessary.
DM Khel |
Yes, I think we'll have two level 2's and three level 1's. Squarely in tier 1-2.
DM Khel |
Got a gameplay thread up for Kalkamedes! Not sure exactly when our fifth player will be ready, but let's all dot in over there so I can close this thread.
