Thanks for clarifying that--I'll go ahead and act then.

Gravely wounded but no longer under the effect of the spell, Sarai looks very surprised and hurt.

"Oh, how I have fallen! A fitting end!"

Desperate to preserve herself, she tumbles back from the front, exposed line.

Thrya calls on Torag for protection as the others feel bolstered by her prayers. Finally snapping out of the spell after Saul attacks her she attempts to tumble back out of the way, but with so many enemies surrounding her it only leaves her open to attacks.

While the first person misses her Saul and his other hireling do not and drop her to the ground in a bloody mess. Cameron gives a little blessing of Desna to Thyra to help her luck as his summoned weapon puts an end to Old Scratch. Nessa tries to fight against the man who stabbed her, but even in her fury she can't land a blow.

Hedran let me know what you are doing before I move us on to their turn.

Ouch. Best of luck, guys!

Still finishing my vacations, so apologies for my slow posting.

"You will pay for that" - Hedran growls at Saul when Sarai falls, swinging hard at one of the closest attackers, and moving to stand back to back with Cameron - "You can bet on it"

Cameron, I'm not sure this is the best option... If I retreated, forcing them to follow, it would mean more AoOs for you, but you could be flanked easily, so... I chose to keep the formation. You can still AoO green if he moves, right?

Hedran if Green moved through Sarai's square Cameron would get an AOO although you provide soft cover. Anyway he's going to have to try and stabilise Sarai because she's close to bleeding out, might as well post that action now.

Next round action:
Seeing Sari fall, Cameron knew he had to act fast. Whispering a prayer to Lady luck he stepped towards her and placed his hand upon her cheek. A bluish flash of radiance outlined her contours and her wounds seemed to sublimate into butterflies which flew away before vanishing.

He'll take a 5' step towards Sari.

Hedran lands a solid blow on one of the men who just cut Sarai down, but it isn't enough to drop him. The one thug steps over Sarai's bleeding body as he goes to attack Hedran. Saul makes his way around the back to come and deal with Nessa personally. The other thugs and one of the bodyguards strike out at their respective targets.

Thyra smacks the thug in front of her with a solid blow while Cameron moves up to help Sarai. He manages to get a healing spell off in time to save Sarai while avoiding any attacks from the surrounding men. Sarai, quick to return to her senses uses Cameron's distraction to cast a spell as she disappears from sight. Nessa steps back and launches a ball of force at Saul that slams into his shoulder causing him a bit of pain. Hedran whacks the thug near him with his morningstar nearly dropping the man to his feet with a single blow.

Both of the thugs turn their attention on Hedran after his brutal blows, while Saul makes his way around the room toward Nessa "You're little spells smarted, but I was expecting more from someone like you. No matter, you traitors won't live much longer anyway!"

With the enemy in his face, Cameron was forced to back up before lunging at the goon directly west of Hedran. Thrya finishes off her handy work as she drops the one thug to the ground. Sarai reappears behind one of the thugs who had caused her so much harm before but her wounds throw off her attack as she misses. Cameron, unable to really move or attack takes up a defensive stance until he can find a means of attack.

Moving North would be through a wall. The only open space for him to move is North of green but he would get AoOed so assumed you would just stay were you were. You can use that attack the next time you actually get in a position to attack. Nessa, same for you, your back is to a wall. You can't 5ft anywhere.

Nessa lashes out at Saul but she can't land a single blow on the man. Hedran lands another solid blow as he puts down the thug between him and Sarai.

Nope, only square pictures are allies, anyone in a circle is an enemy.

With two of Saul's men down the odds are at least beginning to look a little better but the fight is not over as the enemies continue to attack.

Cameron can't 5ft step anywhere that is currently open because of hard corners. You could move NE, but Sarai is there now. You could also move SE, but it would be a move through an enemies square.

Wouldn't I have been able to move to where the blue circle with the x is? It doesn't cross any hard corners to do so. Not too familiar with how they work so I am not sure. Get right down to it I probably couldn't even be where I was if it blocked me.

So Cameron can't move SE? Ok well in that case he's really boxed in.
Boxed in and unable to attack, Cameron instead invoked Desna's blessing upon Hedran. He rubbed his butterfly pendant for luck before lightly touching him on the back as he whispered, "Luck be with you."

Cameron is using Bit of Luck on Hedran (3/5 used), he gets to roll 2x D20 and use the more favourable result for all D20 rolls this round.

Cameron, I think you can do that, then retreat to the East (over the dead gren guy?).

Nessa, I think you could, and you should ;)

Also, Thyra, if Nessa moves toward me, you should come stay over the red dead guy next to me, so we don't risk flanks.

Hedran grunts and smiles at Cameron, turning his focus on his next opponent - "You should have surrendered" - he growls.

Yeah the map is a little crazy, but no couldn't have 5 ft stepped since to get there you actually need to move north one and then east to get to that square because of the diagonal wall. For Cameron, he can move SE, he just can't 5ft step because of the hard corner (similar situation to Nessa, though hers is because of an angular wall instead of a hard corner). Moved the bodies out of the way to give better vision and drew red lines for the relevant walls if it helps.

K aggravating but I can see the reasoning behind it. I guess my action almost entirely depends on whether Thyra takes down the attacker between me and her which means she will have a flank bonus to hit with. As a second question here am I able to move along the wall if I use a normal move action?

CotCT | HR | MM | RoA | RotRL1 | SD | SS1 | SS2 | WftC_1 | WftC_2 |

Thyra will hit, but not take him down. Yes you can move along the wall as normal with a move action, just not 5ft step, just like Cameron could move around the corner with a move action, just not a 5ft step.

Nessa was in a very bad spot and knew it so she did the only thing she could. She focused solely on her defense, not bothering to try and fight back and then moved hoping that luck would be on her side.

I take the Total Defense action making my AC 17 and then move 30 ft. I realize this provokes but if I just stand there I am dead so this seems my best chance at survival.

CotCT | HR | MM | RoA | RotRL1 | SD | SS1 | SS2 | WftC_1 | WftC_2 |

Thyra turns to help Nessa as she smacks the one thug in the back, it obviously hurts but it isn't enough to stop his murderous intent toward Nessa. Sarai shots the other thug giving Hedran and Cameron grief. As it strikes the man looks like a light breeze would be enough to put an end to him. Cameron, boxed in by the thugs, provides a minor blessing to Hedran to give him a bit more luck. Not that he needs it though, as he finishes off the last thug in the room with them.

Nessa does her best to defend herself as she tries to get out of her dire situation.

Luckily, not being hindered by armor or other heavy equipment and with her flexible nature, she manages to wriggle past the thug and avoid any further injury for now.

Saul yells out as she slips away "Coward! Always putting on a tough front, but when it comes to it you run away..." He turns to the other thug, not as concerned with the others and says "After her!"

The one bodyguard near Cameron continues to attack him, while Saul and the thug run after Nessa.

Attack-Cameron: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

The one on Cameron misses again, but Nessa isn't as lucky as Saul stabs her with his rapier, nearly dropping her to the ground.

Nessa is at 0 and disabled (anything other than a move or a standard, but not both, will cause her to drop)

With a bodyguard in his face, Cameron needed space to bring his spear to bear. He parried a blow before stepping backwards and lunging! "Sorry Sarai, I've boxed you in" he remarked.

Not sure if Cameron can still use that attack from above or not vs yellow.

If not (he misses):

I believe that Thyra has an AoO on Blue or Saul when they move past her to get out the door. She should be threatening that square for movement.

AoO vs. Blue:

Hammer Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Hammer Damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (5, 4) + 3 = 12

Thyra runs out the door of the kitchen after Saul, trying her best to prevent the death of her friend. "The only one who will face judgement is you, Saul, for your treachery and deceit." Brawler buddy gets an AoO against me.

She moves into a favorable position, flanking with Nessa, and swings her hammer at the casino owner.

With a growl, Hedran stands in front of Cameron after his attack, to face off with the bodyguard - "You don't see what is happening around you? Surrender!"

Thyra moves in behind Saul after missing the thug that got past her to go after Nessa. She misses her former boss with her swing. Cameron steps back, now with a little more space and lands a solid blow on the bodyguard. Hedran, shouts out for the man to surrender just as he brings his blade down on him and drops him to the ground in a bloody mess. With no one else in the way Sarai moves out and takes aim at Saul.

Attack, PBS: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 = 8
Damage, PBS: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

Her wounds still hindering her a bit causes her to miss though. Nessa continues to do all she can to defend herself against her attackers. Saul looks back at Thyra and says "Don't worry you'll be next after we finish off your little friend here!"

The thug misses, but helps distract Nessa as Saul stabs her again dropping Nessa to the floor. As she crumples to the ground Saul laughs "One down!"

Seeing her friend fall to Saul's strike, Thyra scowls at him. No sense loosing your head, girl, she thinks to herself. That'll just land you right beside Nessa.

You may think yourself clever, Saul, but nearly all of your flunkies are out of the fight. Who are you going to hide behind now?" As she says this, she changes her position, putting Saul between herself and the blue rogue. Then, once in position, she takes a swing at the casino boss.

The guys with the sleepy symbol over their icons are asleep, right? :D If not, I take another path.

Hedran grunts and wades on the blue thug - "Do you see where this is heading Sal!" - he roars, then turning to his opponent - "Are you sure you don't want to get out of here?"

With the guard dead or dying, Cameron pushed past Sari and rushed out into the Gold Goblin's gambling hall. Noting Saul gloating over the bleeding form of Nessa, he charged Saul hoping to run him through!

Looks like Cameron can just reach Saul, but I doubt he hit.

Thyra moves out after Saul and attacks but her swing goes wide. Cameron rushes out to join as well, but meets similar results.

Nessa-Con DC10: 1d20 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (10) + 2 - 3 = 9

As the fight rages on around her Nessa continues bleeding out from her injuries. Hedran moves out to join the party, and strikes down the last conscious thug. Sarai follows behind the others taking aim at Saul.

Attack, PBS: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 6 + 1 = 18

She lands an arrow solidly in Sauls chest. Saul shakes his head "I'm not giving up that easily. I still have some fight left in me and I'll take you lot down with me if I have to!"

Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

He strikes out at Thyra but misses. As he does he takes a step back, now standing over Nessa.

I ended up with some unexpected time today so I'll post. I'll remain sketchy through Tuesday.

Sarai lines up another shot at the gloating Saul.

"Before we kill you, please explain your treachery. I'm easily bored, but I admit you've captured my attention!"

Thyra mutters a brief prayer to Torag, grasping the holy symbol hanging from it's chain. "Don't waste your breath, Sarai," she says calmly when she is finished. "You can't trust any of the words of someone who cavorts with DEMONS"

The final word is only heard by Saul himself, as it unerringly penetrates his eardrum with a violent explosion of sound. Thyra makes her way around the table as he is briefly distracted, beseeching Torag for more protection as she moves.

I'm gonna let Cameron go first - that way he can flank, and then I can flank also ;)

Circling the slippery Vancaskerkin, Cameron growled "What are you hiding Saul, any new eleven Pals of yours?"

Noticing Thyra's spell casting, Cameron jabbed with his spear at the exact same time!
