I'll be out camping this weekend and off the grid, so I won't have a chance to post before Monday or so.
DM Carbide |
I think Katya is up, and I've been buried in work since the camping trip, so I haven't been pushing.
Vasily Lyesnayevich |
Work has been ridiculous and will probably continue to be until the end of the week, sorry. Then I'm going on vacation the week after next.
DM Carbide |
Thanks for the warnings, all. Enjoy your time away!
DM Carbide |
I'm sorry about the lack of updates--been sandbagged at work. I'll try and get something up today.
DM Carbide |
A reminder re HP for the next level. Please roll here in the Discussion thread.
Katya Volkv |
In other news, Katya will be continuing her normal skill ups and is taking Summon Monster III and Haste as her new spells.
DM Carbide |
Correct. What are you leveling in?
DM Carbide |
Busy times at work and home; will get something up tomorrow.
DM Carbide |
I have to once again apologize for the slow pace...work has been extremely busy lately, and I've been trying to get the one game I'm running for the PbP game day done in time. With perfect hindsight I shouldn't have offered to run it in the first place. At least it's almost done now, and I'm going to be off work for the next few days.
DM Carbide |
Apologies for my general silence here. My son managed to total his car (without injury to himself or anyone else--or damage to the other vehicle, which is what happens when a Civic hits black ice and slides into the back of an SUV--all the crumple zones did what they were supposed to), and my wife and I have been working on getting him a new/used one. Will try to get back onto a regular schedule tomorrow.

Work's been ugly the past few days, and we're having people over tonight and tomorrow--am in the process of making several different kinds of chili, and may not be able to post before Sunday. The house smells strongly of roasted poblanos and garlic.
John Woodford |
Yes.
That is, three kinds of chili: bog-standard kidney bean/tomato/hamburger, a white bean/chicken chili with green chiles and no tomatoes, and a green chili stew (that was the one with the roasted poblanos; also had pork, tomatillos, onions, and potatoes). I made a chili sauce with anchos, chipotles, crushed tomatoes, beer, and a few other things--that was to punch up the bog-standard variety. Spouse made macquechoux (Cajun creamed corn, basically) and a couple of cheesecakes, and daughter made a bunch of cookies and brownies. And if anyone went away hungry it was their own damn fault.
DM Carbide |
I'm going to be at a (non-gaming) con this weekend, and since the hotel charges for internet access I won't be able to post much (if at all).
DM Carbide |
Still here; have been dealing with some major family stuff, though, and haven't had the spoons to spare for the kingdom turn.
DM Carbide |
OK, finally started reviewing the previous kingdom turn (just over a year ago...I need to pick up my posting pace). It looks like you annexed the gold mine hex last turn, so your best choice for the next one is where you fought the giant spider. This turn you can build a road in the gold mine hex as well. You started this turn with 11 BP in the treasury.
Want to take another kingdom turn or two right away? That'd let you annex Oleg's, and maybe build a road there too.
DM Carbide |
ENE of the gold mine--caption on the kingdom map is "Spider's Nest."
DM Carbide |
I will once again be on the road tomorrow and most of Saturday.
DM Carbide |
Thank you again for your patience. I've been spending far too much time traveling the past few weeks; my mom had to be moved into memory care on short notice, and I'm taking care of her finances for her. Fortunately she lives within easy driving distance.
Are there any city or other improvements you wanted to make in these next two turns, other than the roads (and presumably a mine)?
Katya Volkv |
Katya would like to see an economic building made, maybe one with a magic item slot so we can start getting that economy rolling but that's about it.
DM Carbide |
No rush. You don't have enough yet for the least expensive building with a magic item slot, so at this point you're better off making economic improvements and growing the kingdom as fast as you can.
DM Carbide |
While you're exploring close to Nadezhda and not taking a lot of time away, I haven't been imposing any penalties for a chunk of the kingdom's officers being AWOL. I'm treating it as something of a Royal Progress, and handwaving being tracked down by the occasional messenger if anything has to be dealt with right away. Once you're a little higher level I'll be able to justify having someone in the city who can cast sending.
DM Carbide |
Been busy lately; will push things along tomorrow or Friday.
Vasily Lyesnayevich |
Sorry, guys, but work has gotten ridiculous in the past couple of months. I'm reducing my number of games on the boards and am going to try to catch back up here.
